Giant Egg An enormous egg believed to be from an extinct elephant bird, a kind of giant ostrich that once roamed Madagascar, is going up for auction next month. The egg, which is 100 times bigger than one from a chicken, is 1 foot tall and 9 inches wide. It is believed to be the largest egg ever laid by any animal on Earth.
