TOURISM, THE GOOGLE WAY: Want to tour Venice on your lunch break? Want to see the Eiffel Tower but can't make it over to Paris? Google has your back. Now you can make it all the way to the top of the City of Lights using Google's new service that also provides "nearly 50 archival images, plans, engraving and photos telling the story of the Eiffel Tower's development and social impact in the 19th century." Sit back with a warm croissant and enjoy the sights from the comfort of your computer.

WHALE RESCUE: A regular fishing trip turned into a rescue mission Friday as a fisherman off Virginia Beach, Va., came face-to-face with an endangered right whale that was caught in fishing straps. Adriane Colaprete, also an experienced diver, was able to swim up to the creature and cut it loose, all while filming it with his GoPro camera. He later told WVEC-TV, "It's something bigger than me… it was probably one of the best feelings of my life."
