Bin Laden on Moussaoui

abc wnt binladen 060423 nr 1 Bin Laden on Moussaoui

In an audio tape released on a website, a voice claiming to be Osama bin Laden claims Zacarias Moussaoui had nothing to do with the 9/ll attacks and, in fact, was not even aware they were to take place.

Moussaoui was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for failing to tell the FBI about the impending attacks when he was arrested two weeks before 9/ll.

"Had he known anything, however little, about the September 11th group," the voice says, "we would have told the brother Commander Mohammed Atta and his brothers to leave America immediately before their affair was exposed."

Oh well, too bad. We’ll keep him in Colorado anyway. Welcome to SUPERMAX!

I didn’t expect any less from Osama than to hear remarks like this. He is putting his own spin on Moussaoui being sentenced to life in prison, thereby not being able to attain his martyrdom, to cast Moussaoui as an incompetent. I would imagine nothing short of arrest would have stopped Atta and his fellow terrorists on Sept. 11 after the years of planning. Moussaoui probably felt that he was doing his compatriots a service by keeping his mouth shut after being detained by authorities, but the reality is probably that he knew his arrest could bring the whole plan down and he attempted to keep himself in the graces of Al Qaida. Now he has been outcast and is completely alone, and Osama took the opportunity to make this known and appear stronger.

Let’s see, what could Bin Laden say to annoy Americans….hmmm….how about “you got the wrong guy!” – how dumb are we to take any stock in his comments? Blah Blah Blah.

Moussaoui was tapped to take bin al-Shibh’s place as the 20th hijacker. I would like to see how the evidence re: flight training and connections to Atta are dealt with by OBL.

Maybe we should call Bin Laden to testify, huh? Then we could cut his head off with a dull knife and release a blackmarket tape through Al-Jazeera or even ABC. I sure hope this is a story that won’t make it till tomorrow. If we are trying to give more legitimacy to Bin LAden than our own federal prosecutors and, oh yeah, Moussaoui’s testimony and confession, then the liberals in this country have truly succeeded in making us TOO politically correct.

Moussaoui gets a life sentence for supposedly lying to the Feds. Of course had he known anything and told all it’s still only speculation that the intelligence community would have acted on that information to any degree that would have prevented some or all of 9/11.
Instead, the onus goes to Moussaoui, the actual protectors of daily America can claim to be blameless and all the while Osama remains free to editorialize.
Moussaoui is no more than a poster boy. A mere example put before the public by a government desperate for revenge and a means to appear in control of a situation that blindsided them in spite of the unconnected dots that were evident to them prior to either Moussaoui’s capture or the tragedy of 9/11.

Osama is not lying. If Moussaui was involved in the 9/11 attacks, Osama would have admitted it. These guys are proud to admit to murder and if Moussaui played any role, Osama would call him a “martyr.”

Guilty or innocent, Moussaouri dug his own grave.
For his own reasons, he wanted his 15 seconds of fame. Well, he had them.
The only problem is that price he now has to pay: life in a small cell in a supermax prison. Isolated for all intents and purposes.
5 years from now, I wonder if he’ll still think “America, you lost!”

I think that nobody should say anything unless they know for sure or if they saw it.

Posted by: Heba | May 23, 2006, 6:13 pm 6:13 pm

I THINK MOUSSAOUI WAS USED AS AN EXAMPLE. THERE WAS NOT ANY REAL EVIDENCE AGAINST MOUSSAUI FROM WHAT I WAS HEARING FROM THE MEDIA. TO HAVE ALL THE PEOPLE TO TESTIFY ABOUT THEIR RELATIVES FROM 911 DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE. HE DID NOT CAUSE THEIR DEATH. I THINK THIS CASE WAS MORE MENTAL AND HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT UNDER A DOCTOR’S CARE. BEING BLACK THE LAW IS NEVER FAIR AND THAT WAS EXPECTED.

Posted by: BETH | May 23, 2006, 6:27 pm 6:27 pm

Never underestimate OBL’s understanding of the use of media as weapon in his war. If we had given Moussaoui the death penalty he would have been declared a holy martyr for the cause.
We can not allow this guy to manipulate us, as he did in 2004. He wants us to stay the course in the Middle East. Bogged down in Iraq. Blindly following Israels lead with Palestine. Pushing Iran on nuclear development. Allowing him to feed his line of BS to Muslims throughout the world and recruit more “soldiers” to his cause.

I have gotten fed up with our network broadcast media for helping to terrorize American citizens with some audio tapes that the Federal agencies have authenticated as being real. We must not continue to terrorize our citizens with this type of propaganda based on our federal agencies word. We must remember, during the hunt for the Maryland sniper these same agencies put out a profile that turned out to be a total farce.
Where is Osama Bin Laden? From all common indicators, he is probably dead. His medical condition and the circumstances under which he lived more likely has contributed to his demise. We must also remember that if Osama was truly alive, he most certainly would still be making and sending video tapes. If he can record an audio tape and send it to Aljazeera, then he most certainly could do the same with a video tape. Aljazeera is the English version of the Arabic-language news network.
Please broadcast media stop replaying their propaganda which terrorizes most American citizens. There is plenty of other newsworthy stories that that trash. Those bogus audio taps will not help us to be any safer.

I don’t think Moussaoui was involved in 9/11 either or that he had anything to do with it. I think that he is a mentally challenged person, who believes in Osama Bin Ladin and wanted to become a martyr and “suffer for the cause”. He has taken the QUARAN to heart. He was looking for his 2 minutes of fame, and a reason for America to kill him and make him a martyr.

Why does ABCNEWS continue to broadcast “alleged” Bin Laden Tapes? You have NO idea whose voice is on those tapes, yet you clearly name your blog “Bin Laden on Moussaoui”. In my opinion all of these Bin Laden tapes are cheap fakes. Bin Laden isn’t stupid enough to release tapes like these, discussing issues that don’t matter a bit. It is clear these tapes are being manufactured by some intelligence agency somewhere to keep the masses afraid. Please stop buying into it.

Posted by: Eric | May 23, 2006, 8:06 pm 8:06 pm

There has yet to be a tape released under the name of Osama bin Laden that has turned out to be a fake, according to US officials.
This latest tape suggests a very quick turnaround given that Moussaoui was convicted May 4.

Who cares. What does it mean to all Americans what Bin Laden says. If he was real man face the U.S. and stop hiding.

Posted by: Tstewart | May 23, 2006, 8:37 pm 8:37 pm

I agree with Zach, Our government never would of acted on Moussaoui word! Whats this with OBL probably dead?? Yea right, His health probably better than ours. The man has more resources, followers, look alikes, hideouts.etc…he doesnt know Moussaoui from Neil Armstrong, and he doesnt care! Moussaoui got his fame. OBL is still living in his fame, and laughing at US government!!!

M’oui had a fair trial in a court of law and the jury returned a verdict based on the evidence presented by the prosecution and his defense. That’s justice.

Something that Brian missed on the Bin Laden tape: He also stated that he was in sole charge of U.S. gambling and that Pete Rose never placed a bet.

Posted by: glenn williams | May 23, 2006, 10:58 pm 10:58 pm

Claiming that Moussaoui had an unfair trial because he is black is ludicrous, a patent lie, and racist to the core. Judge Brinkema bent over BACKWARDS to accomodate him many times above and beyond what anyone else shouting “Death to America” would have received. When blacks stop using race as an issue to avoid their own mistakes and take responsibilty for them then and ONLY then will racism end!

Actually Laden alone is nothing in front of FBI.But reality is defferent.Do you heard about PHANTOM?.Though real phantom was dead than his son again his grandson were appearing as phantom same thing is with laden. There are some countries behind him but they disclose the name of laden.Actually some muslim hardliner countries are behind him(behind camera). So america has to find out his friend countries and enemy countries. Are you able to understand this?

Posted by: venzyciaro | May 24, 2006, 4:09 am 4:09 am

Do any of us really know enough about the particulars of the case to have a valid, well informed opinion? No.
Do we know whether or not Bin Laden is telling the truth or lying? No.
The “celebritizing” of this war makes me sick. Can we please please take the focus off of people me and you can do NOTHING about and start demanding that our politicians – ALL of them – put their heads together to come up with a real and lasting solution to this. Unless of course you think things are going just fine…

Posted by: august | May 24, 2006, 5:14 am 5:14 am

How many of you can honestly say that the voice is OBL? Who knows whether or not it is just a ploy for America to let Moussaoui out of prison only to be released into a society that he hates and has been victimized by. It could be another one of OBL’s false videotapes. How many alleged tapes did we receive after the 9/11 attacks that clearly stated that there were going to be more attacks? Do not get me wrong, I lost loved ones in the attacks as well, but we just need to grow up and realize that this man’s whole life now is about terrorizing America.
Now will someone please tell me why this war has been turned into primetime entertainment? It feels as though we need to have California Gov. Arnold there to fight the bad guys because that is what he does…
America, how have we fallen from being a power country to being afraid of a man we do not know if he is even still alive?
Just answer me that.

Posted by: Rebecca | May 24, 2006, 8:11 am 8:11 am

How many times have we actually received tapes from this man and his words have been false? America, OBL plays on our fears and then he laughs. How do we know if this tape is authentic? How do we know that OBL is still alive? He is playing on our worst fears, America, by saying that Moussaoui IS NOT to be blamed or charged. That in fact if he would have been part of the 9/11 attacks, Moussaoui would not have been in the country that late before the attacks.
Personally, please stop buying these lies, America. Does Moussaoui know where OBL is? Is that why OBL does not want Moussaoui to be in jail? All I ask is that before you jump to conclusions, have you listened to the tape yourself? And has it been authenticated?

Bin Laden is a coward hiding in his cave and sending stupid audio messages. If he is so brave, he should show his face and confront his pursuers instead of sending his puppets to do his dirty jobs for him. When he is finally, caught, Osama will burn in hell for all his attrocities

Posted by: kash | May 24, 2006, 10:18 am 10:18 am

I thought that Bin Laden was denying any involvement in the attacks on September 11, 2001. Now he is saying that Moussaoui knew nothing about it. Was he telling the truth then or is he telling the truth now. I don’t believe that the tapes are Bin Laden or have been Ben Laden. Our government is corrupt if you guys haven’t figured that out yet. Because they say that it is Bin Laden then you believe it? I guess you guys will fall for anything. I don’t know what to believe but I don’t believe anything that comes out of this administration. They have been proven to be people who don’t always tell the truth and who make no apologies for it.

Posted by: chinaman | May 24, 2006, 11:20 am 11:20 am

The sad reality of it all is that Bin Laden is still there to remind Americans of its failed response to the attack on terrorism after the 9/11 tragedy. Moussaoui is the wrong terrorist despite his insane and well-groomed hate of everything American. Saddam and Iraq are the wrong targets. And while we are entrenched in a war, not on terrorism, but of political gain and forced ideals of democracy, Bin Laden is free to speak about the flawed fight on terrorism.

Of Course all us are merely speculating but political discourse is what keeps an intellectual democracy alive. The problem however is whether or not such discourse is in fact intellectual and not bantor.
In regards to this article, I find that in reviewing the information presented along with that of The Washington Post’s juror comments it seems plausible that Ben Ladin is correct in his statements. Many of the jurors felt that he only played an insignificant part, therefore adding an heir of credibility to Ben Ladin’s remarks.

Keep Mousoui in prison, america needs a scapegoat!!!

Posted by: Rick | May 24, 2006, 4:55 pm 4:55 pm

There was no evidence on Moussaoui, and the FBI arrested him because his flying instructer said he “looked” suspicious. but that was weeks before 9/11 attacks.
The U.S. government can’t keep someone in prison for life because he looked suspicious.
Every foreigner should boycott the USA for being so arrogant.!!!
Large Majority of americans believe the US military should blow up all the middle east why? because YOU have the image in your head that everyone from the middle easy has an AK-47 and is a terrorist.
P.S. Most of you don’t know where Iraq IS.

Just take a look at the original ‘smoking gun’ video where Osama supposedly confesses to 9/11.
http://911research.wtc7.net/disinfo/deceptions/binladinvideo.html
Anyone notice a problem here? The entire basis for two wars, the Patriot Act, massive increases in military spending, illegal NSA spying, etc. is this video evidence that Islamic fundamentalists ‘hate our freedoms’ and engineered 9/11. And besides, how could our intel agencies actually not realize that this person is not Osama? Combine that with such fun tidbits as this:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/waronterror/story/0,1361,584444,00.html
and this:
http://911review.com/articles/usamah/khilafah.html
Think about the ramifications of that for a minute.

I believe osama has been dead for some time – like since the bombings

It would seem that if the USA along with British intelligence agency can listen in to millions of conversations then why can’t they find this skinny little man with a beard? Damn it to hell, it should not take all that to find this guy. Blow up the mountains covering tunnels and maybe we would get lucky. A needle in a haystack doesn’t take this long to find. Maybe Bush has his reasons not to find him. Maybe just maybe Binny is out there leading the way to bigger and better fish to fry. That is all great but we as Americans need this guy caught and brought back here for closer to begin. Remember a little thing called 911? Remember Bin Laden laughing at us? Well I won’t laugh until the creep is snapped in two. Now that’s funny. Bush, crap or get off the pot, and the crack, and the coke, and the booze.
