We’re renovating!

Take a look at the photos. That was World News Tonight’s workspace known as the "rim." It’s where the program’s senior staff has hashed-out the broadcast every day since 1986. While it’s being renovated, the show’s staff has moved to another floor. ABC constructed the building in the mid-1980′s… and over the years the area has stayed pretty much the same. One interesting note, they replaced the carpet when they decontaminated the floor after the anthrax attack in 2001… The desks got taken away this morning… And we found something stuck behind one of them that was sort of fun. It is a document known as the "AM Summary" circa December 1988. It details our plans for that night’s broadcast — in the wake of the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing. You’ll see the correspondents’ names next to their stories… Ned Potter, Brian Rooney and John McKenzie are still with us. The "AM Summary" is as well. We’ll keep you posted on the renovations over the next few months.
