Congressman Ney Does Scotland

The chartered jet to Scotland was $91,000. (Click to see actual document.) Rounds of golf at Gleneagles were $400. The food and the rooms were first class. But when Congressman Bob Ney (R-OH) officially reported the trip he took with lobbyist Jack Abramoff, the total cost of $3,200 was purposely understated, according to a former aide’s testimony. (Click on $3,200 to see actual document.) Former Ney staffer Neil Volz made the allegations during the trial of another public official, David Safavian, who was also on the Abramoff trip. Volz, who left Ney’s staff to work for Abramoff, says that Abramoff and his team helped Ney complete Congressional travel disclosure forms so they "would pass the smell test" if reporters examined them. A spokesman for Ney, Brian Walsh, denied that Abramoff was involved in filing Ney’s travel forms but acknowledged the figures Ney used were provided by Abramoff

America had to endure six years of special proscutor “Whitewater” investigations. I believe that the Republican leadership should now practice what they preach. Where’s the beef boys?

The only reason people in government and cooperate America get away with this sort of thing is because they know, even thought they are constently reminded by the media, that the mojority of the American citizens don’t care. Easy to complain, isn’t it? Easier to ignore.

The people would care if they were informed that this crap is occuring. They just don’t hear this stuff on the media outlets. They’re too busy researching the details of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to be bothered with anything else.
In actuality, we should be flashing this stuff all over the networks. The President should be announcing a real house cleaning…oh wait, that means he would have to come clean too. Never mind.

All this goes to show what a sham government really is. We are overlegistrated by a parasitical, mentaly and moraly corrupt bureacrates. We need a simple protect you (police, fire, and national defence) type of government not this everyone and his brother is on the dole and where does it end…

The people need to implement term limits in order to rid the U.S. of these self serving, greedy, lying politicians. I still am in shock that Bush was re-elected thanks to all of you christian voters. Guess what, you got used.
What’s the war death rate up to now thanks to your vote? What the hell is wrong with the people in this country?

I have a few questions for Republican “conservatives” in Congress: (a) since when did “pro-Business” mean pro-Big-Business at the expense of the work-horse small businesses in this country? (b) since when did “fiscal conservative” mean inheriting a balanced budget and inflating it to the largest budget deficit in US history? (c) since when did the Constitution allow the president to simply ignore Congress? and (d) since when was the US Attorney General not directly answerable to Congress?

What I would like to know is who wrote the check to pay for the plane. There has to be some accountability for this kind of thing. Our soldiers could not get body armor and we have congressmen taking trips spending this kind of money. It is outrageous!!!

Not only can OUR troops not get protective gear, but also our education system is floundering and schools can’t get money for simple things like field trips or even materials for art projects. Teachers must pay out of their own pockets. I work in school system in SW Kansas that has too fight for every dollar we get.. Our teachers who are educating the next generation get paid ONCE a month, our health insurance is outrageous and we are underpaid, as our many in the school systems. This kind of money spent for FUN trips would educate a lot of children, buy supplies and can you imagine our congressmen and women only getting paid once a month? That would never fly.

Let us all enjoy the “punishment election” of 2006 as our first message to all those corrupt greedy losers so they know what is in store for them and their legacy. We will also enjoy dealing with the MSM and their total lack of acumen and sycophantic nature. The “sudden baptist convention jihad of 1979″ will not go unnoticed and will be perused. The attacks on Bill Clinton while he did a great job pale laughingly against the backdrop of approval by the republican majority, right wing radio liars, and faux networks and other assorted MSM ilk. The powder and glue sniffing generation who hatched their crack and meth babies upon us need to get out of the way and watch this unfold while they think about some serious rehab work. Let the games begin…
