New Bin Laden Audio Tape: Osama Speaks on the Death of Zarqawi

A new Osama bin Laden audio is expected to be released within three days. On the tape, bin Laden will talk about the death of Abu Musab Zarqawi. More details to come. The audio is about 5 minutes in length. This is the fourth time we have heard an audio message from bin Laden this year. The last time we heard from him was following the sentencing of Zacarias Moussaoui for the 9/11 attacks. Bin Laden claimed that he had not assigned Moussaoui to be a part of the attacks. That tape came 19 days after the sentencing of Moussaoui and was considered a quick turnaround for one of his tapes, which are believed to pass through numerous couriers on their way to Al Jazeera network. The news of Zarqawi’s death came three weeks ago on June 8.

Uhhh… How do these reporters know a tape will be released in 3 days? “On the tape, bin Laden ‘will’ talk about…”? How do they know what will be on a tape by bin Laden that apparently hasn’t even been released, let alone recorded yet???

Peace be upon me.

Is he going to beg for truce again like he, Zarqawi and Zawahri already have?
I liked Bush’s answer.

Funny. They can track down 7 terrorists who apparently wanted to blow up the Sears Tower from Miami with no supplies, yet Bin Laden still roams free.

Why does Osama still use audio tape? Doesn’t he know how to burn a CD?

Posted by: Louise | June 28, 2006, 6:56 pm 6:56 pm

Excellent questions Eric! They even know the tape is 5 minutes long… sounds to me someone at ABC is verrrry close to a friend of bin laden’s.

Eric makes a good point. BETTER point though, if they know this stuff, why don’t they know where he is then?

I guessed that viewing himself as a leader, he would see a need for an immediate response to the death of Zarqawi. I’d hoped that in his rush to respond he would take a shortcut and be located.
Here’s hoping I guessed right.

well…if we caught him where would that put the “war on terror”? It’d be all but over. Then the government would have to give all that power back, we couldn’t have that….could we?

This is proof our SOF/Police tactics do not work. We need to make foreign language training mandatory in our high school classrooms and build military intelligence networks where cockroaches like this Osama murderer can be ferreted out no matter where they hide. We need to overhaul our military and build a new fighting force for the next century of must have military actions. This is the new frontier in warfare and education, and the only way we will ever build a potent response is to increase our education of other cultures and languages. No military promotions unless fluency in languages can be demonstrated both in college and the military. Get rid of useless educators who are nothing but propenents for the New Left. Radioactive dust is the eventual alternative. Educate America that the only way to fight this hate is by learning and reacting.

Why are we even hearing from this psychopath? I don’t want to see another tape…the only thing I want to see is his dead face like we did Zarqawi’s.

It’s good to see people starting to ask important questions about the well times release of these “bin laden tapes.” Indeed, how do reporters KNOW a tape is on the way?? Did he send them a telegram??? Looks more and more like Bin Laden is the boogie man our government needs to remind people why they should be afraid. I’m starting to wonder WHO is actually making these tapes.

When we were attacked at Pearl Harbor there wasn’t anywhere in the world we didn’t go to get the bad guys. So why are we stopping at the Pakastani border to get bin Laden, or any other border for that matter? Let’s do whatever it takes to find his turbanned excellence, wherever he’s hiding, then nuke him out of his hole.

Posted by: Stephen-san | June 28, 2006, 7:17 pm 7:17 pm

Iran and North Korea are worse threats to our future than Osama. they are also part of the war on terror. it doesnt end with a man dying. its a mindset that says “the free world will not be held for ransom by those who use terror as a means to an end.” dont you understand that? it wont end and we cant ever give up. if we do, we loose.

A. The neighbors in Miami are willing to turn the terrorists in.
Oh, and aVoice’s rant about the government not wanting to get Bin Laden and sacrifice “all that power”… wow, here is a conspiracy theorist of the first order. aVoice probably thinks we kept Zarqawi on ice until the most politically correct moment too…

If we caught Bin Laden today this war would not be over. This war is not about Bin Laden. Why can’t liberals understand that? This is a war on TERROR, not one person. There is a network of terrorists we are fighting. I do not understand why the left thinks that finding Bin Laden would solve all of our problems.

Well Philly, it’s obvious to everyone except you that Bin Laden roams free because Karl Rove wants him to roam free because Rove still works for W’s father and W’s father flew the SR-71 over to Saudi and promised Cheney’s Big Oil Buddies at Haliburton that Bin Laden would always be roaming free as long as they keep the price of oil high (or low) so as to produce more CO2 emissions so that the planet will super-heat up and drive the price of beach property SKY HIGH so that the Bush family will get filthy rich in Texas on the backs of the poor people like they totally succeeded in doing with those people they fleeced in New Orleans by giving them billions of dollars in hurricane relief money with which they were forced to buy sex, drugs and rock-n-roll with.

Bin Laden will never be caught, it’s not important to Bush and his oil tycoons. As long as he’s hiding the longer we can suck oil from Iraq. But when he’s caught if he’s caught then we will have no excuse to be in Iraq.

Silly questions get silly answers. It just means the tape has already been delivered and viewed by Al Jazeera and they plan on releasing it in a few days. Think, people.
And saying, we should have gotten bin Ladin first is kind of silly too. You people act like catching a criminal is a matter of pushing a button on a remote control. It takes hard work to catch even some of the known criminals running around the U.S. let alone one hiding in a cave in some god-forsaken mountain on the other side of the world. Get serious and give Bush some credit.

The reason we can’t go into Pakistan to get Bin Laden:
Pakistan is headed by a moderate pro-US leader, but there are also significant numbers of supporters of Al Qaeda in powerful positions in pakistan as well. keep in mind, the Pakistani Intelligence Agency are the ones who CREATED the Taliban. If you invade tribal regions of Pakistan to fight for months in the mountains looking for Bin laden, you destabilize Pakistan, and create sympathy for Bin laden. Pakistan has a nuclear weapon.
The enemy is non symmetrical – direct action (that Bin laden predicted) wouldn’t work. We use indirect, cold war tactics instead to win hearts and minds. The Iraqi democratic experiment is a huge blow to islamic fundamentalism – and example of free iraqis making money, and living western lives. Blue jeans and rock and roll brought down the Soviet Union, there is no reason to think that Al Qaeda will withstand the same treatment.
Liberals are correct that Hussein (likely) had nothing to do with 911. This is a strategic move against Islamic Radicalism at large, a cold war battle. Liberals are correct then that the premise of the war was somewhat flasely sold – still and all its a great move, and one that will benefit us, the Iraqis, the middle east, and the arab on the street in the long run.

Oh, give me a break. If you think that killing or catching Osama will end the war on terror, you are sadly mistaken. The Jihadist movement does not depend on one man. When Zarqaui was killed, a new leader took his place in Iraq within a few days.
I fear for our civilization when we underestimate such a threat as the Islamo-facist Jihad movement. It won’t go away with the capture of one or one hundred terrorist “leaders”…

Right-on aVoice.
We know the tape will be released in three days because that is when the CIA has said it will be done fabricating it.
Bin Laden is dead and has been so for many years.
BTW, why does the FBI’s web site say nothing about Bin Laden’s involvment in 911? When asked about it, the FBI said that there was no good evidence to connect him to 911.

Osama only use audio video because he can’t show his face. He had his face altered with plastic surgery. He now looks like Michael Jackson. In fact he is probably here in the US. Next time you are in line at Starbucks, the 6′ tall looking skinny guy in front of you that looks like Michael Jackson is probably Osama. So, he is not in the mountains of Pakistan. He is actually living in Bakersfield, CA.

In any event, it sounds like Mr. Ladin is relegated to taping pathetic eulogies laced with “go jihad warriors”, as opposed to killing innocent americans en masse. Tis a shame for him to stick his head out of the cave now and then for a little sweet sunshine.

Posted by: spook | June 28, 2006, 7:47 pm 7:47 pm

I’m not sure which wing nut theory is more appealing…the idea that ABC is in cahoots with UBL’s publicist and “knows” that a tape is coming because they are pals or that it’s all part of a secret plan by Karl Rove, who actually has UBL tied up in a suite at the Watergate, being force fed bacon bits and pork rhinds, so they can keep him alive until they can have him theatrically ‘killed’ just in time for the elections (no, I won’t specify which elecctions, that way this wing nut theory can be recycled every two years).
UBL is in a cave, it takes him three weeks just to get out a video, and he has been unable to coordinate a major attack for five years. Unlike Zarqawi, who was actively coordinating attacks, from the very heart of combat operations in Iraq, UBL has taken himself out of the game.
For a guy who suggests that it is a glorious thing to die in the act of jihad, he seems pretty content to take a pass on virgins and paradise and jihad, so he can hide out in a cave and make music, I mean terror, videos.

Posted by: Kevin | June 28, 2006, 7:51 pm 7:51 pm

The pertinent question has been asked by Eric. Take it one step further to see if there are “dots” to connect between the journalistic knowledge of the future event of our arch enemy, and the recent past disclosures made by those self same journalists who have publicized classified data to the masses.
The next question to ask is if there are seemingly “dots” to connect, is there anybody willing to connect those “dots” and try them and any others who commit treasonous acts for treason?
For those of you who extol the virtues of a free press please remember a few things. One is that ANY of our freedoms comes with the innate responsibility to exercise them responsibly. Two, freedom is and never has been free because a vet paid for it. When the irresponsible exercise of any freedom favors our enemies, then more vets will die to pay for those who blindly say it is their right to snitch, no matter the consequences.
No platitudes please. When your buddies head is blown clean off his shoulders during dinner in place that neither of you would be if it were not for the emboldened enemies presence a few days longer because of someone’s irresponsible use of one our famous “Freedoms”, then you can talk about the acceptance of treason.
Wake up folks, Do you think Osama survived this long by being stupid?

Posted by: Ric | June 28, 2006, 7:54 pm 7:54 pm

They most likely already have the tape, know who its from and so forth, but it will only be ‘released’ when translations are verified – hence the three days…

Posted by: mindfists | June 28, 2006, 7:57 pm 7:57 pm

I found this on the Houston Chronicle web site.
Perhaps reporters and the government know how to search the web and aren’t part of some massive consiracy…
June 28, 2006: A message posted on an Islamic militant Web site says Osama bin Laden will issue a videotaped message paying tribute to slain al-Qaida in Iraq chief Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, but does not say when the video would be posted or whether bin Laden would appear in the video or just speak in a voice-over.

Posted by: Jer | June 28, 2006, 7:57 pm 7:57 pm

Mistanny…are you that ignorant to think that the government has no involvement in the release of the tape? Just because it is being AIRED in 3 days doesn’t mean that the news channels are holding out for 3 days, waiting on baited breath. The tape is released first to governmental agencies for analysis to determine the validity and authenticity of the the tape. Then, they study the tapes for hidden messages b/4 they broadcast to hundreds of sleeper cells. Common sense

Does anyone not realize that the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan are HUGE. The highest point in the range is over 25000 feet. FAR higher than anything in continguous USA!!! Then the fact that Bin Laden is from this area…no wonder we haven’t found him. Also, Pakistan will not allow our military to enter even when we are in pursuit of terrorist OR taliban in the ranges. That right there would make it extremely difficult to catch anyone. It would be like playing tag and having an area where the “it” person can’t go. Everyone that wants to be safe goes to the “safe” area.

Posted by: Dan | June 28, 2006, 8:09 pm 8:09 pm

I may eat these words one day, but for two or three years I’ve been totally convinced he’s been dead for that long. Long shot;-maybe he’s a physical wreck and unable to do vids.
No way on this Earth he would have missed the opportunity to rally the troops with an indoor vid. promoting the jihad.
The fact that the CIA and other important groups supposedly, or pretend to, buy into it, is the real mystery to me.
They must feel that it has drastically curtailed the rising of all the would-be successors, or that the world doesn’t need a martyr of this magnitude. In any case, they are content to say, “Yeah, that’s him; That’s the ticket!”.
Lousy analoge tapes, -they would have long ago discovered that solid state is more reliable in blowing sand, extreme cold & heat!!!
A thumb drive could even hold 5 min. of viodeo, with room left over.
So now, quit asking what O- or U- sama can do for our leftist press, ask why a cold, room temperature version of him is not allowed credibility.

How exactly do they even know the voice on the tape belongs to Bin Laden? I know they can measure vocal patterns, but even so, couldn’t the voice be a carefully selected mimic? I think it is VERY curious that we haven’t seen ONE video of Bin Laden in the past 5 years. NOT ONE. Just audio tapes. I think these tapes are FAKE to keep the “boogeyman” of Bin Laden in the public consciousness. If that is really him on the tape, then I ask you, why no video? I assume he wants to get his message across and a video would end up on more TV channels etc. Beware, people — we are being propagandized.

I’ll tell you what I think: This loser is either already dead or so messed up he’s useless. Why is it always a “poor quality audio tape” when he sends out a message? His number 2 always puts out a high quality video when he speaks; with a black backround to stop tracing. It’s always poor quality so it’s easier to fake being him. The gov’t knows this but can’t prove it, so they wont say it. HE’S DEAD.

Bin Ladin is emmanuel goldstein, he does not exist, look up AT&T voice labs to see how you can use existing clips of someones voice in order to get them to say whatever you want. The entire thing is an obvious scam– americans are too horrified at the implications to face the truth…

Posted by: Ben | June 28, 2006, 8:25 pm 8:25 pm

Bin Laden is being allowed to ‘escape’ or continue ‘running’ in order to keep you Americans on your toes; keep you scared. He provides the Bush Administration with the ‘authority’ to carry on with it’s never-ending war. You forget that he was once a CIA asset. Who says he isn’t now? As for the tapes. They are obviously fraudulent. Why release audio tapes when it would be possible for him to release video messages, as he has in the past. The answer is that they are very, very easy to fake. Wake up people, your government has hijacked everything you stand for and is perverting it by the day.

I find it ironic how Americans all think we are innocent in what we do, we are the free nation, therefore no matter what… we can’t commit immoral behaviors… that we can just invade whatever country with out any consideration of the rights of people around the world…
I guess it just goes to show how we are no better or worse than the terrorists as we selfishly cling to our hoards of wealth. We got to where we are today by using power and force… no different than what a “terrorist” does, just that they are the modern day equivalent of what we did to get this nation 200 years ago…
The irony is that we label this behavior as immoral… when in reality we are just trying to call a truce while we are ahead in the game of life…
It just boils down to the fact that if power and force are the only things holding together our way of life… then it’s a joke to say that someone else is wrong to try to use power and force to gain the high ground…

We’re shooting at shadows. Sure Bin Laden’s a target, and should be, but don’t forget that each of the 911 hijackers were trained in Soviet terrorist training camps.
What about Promise, the software that was delivered to the Soviets by a former Washington insider.
How else could Bin Laden fly under the radar screen for so long, and who did the insider give the software to: you guessed it: Moscow. And who moved the WMD from Iraq to Syria days before we went in.. The Soviets.
Moscow is not our friend. If we’re shooting at shadows.. then the object casting the shadow is Bin Laden’s puppetmaster Putin and the other conspirators.
Listen to what Al Tikriti, Hussain’s insider had to say about the Soviet sponsorship of
terrorism aimed at taking the US down.
It’s been going on since Cleon Skousen penned the book ” The Naked Communist” back in ’61.

Of course, they have to know when, where and how to send him his check…from the gigantic profits made from their mutual investments. No mystery why he hasn’t been caught. Our President shuttled the BIN LADEN FAMILY out of the USA immediately after the attack on 9/11/01. Even his Daddy was grounded while the Bin Laden family flew off in government supplied airplanes to Never-Never Land. Never-Never to get caught by the United States.

Funny how Al Jazeera and ABC always have the scoop. Think they would let the govt know which smelly, claustrophobic dark cave the neanderthall is hiding? If you think Bush is waiting for the election to get him then why did he not do that in 2002 or 2004?

The tape has already been received by the government. They have to pick over the tape before repeasing it to make sure there are no specially coded messages for other al-qaeda terrorists.

Osama is a joke. He holds no power whatsover anymore, and is probably just hiding in a hole like his buddy Sadaam was. When we find the “hole”, we should just fill it in and seal it and hear nothing more about it. No trial, nothing. Just bury the rat.

Anybody remember Eric Rudolph? Atlanta bombing, bombing abortion clinics? Certified terrorist. Took over five years to find him, and he spent virtually all that time in a thirty mile square area of – the mountains of North Carolina. Most of that time was during Clinton’s administration. He was caught by accident dumpster diving after dozens of fruitless sweeps involving hundreds of agent, infared surveillance, etc. In other words, if someone is hiding out in one the most remote areas on the planet, and all he can do is send out a few tapes a year, he has been effectively neutralized, as in, what has he done for Jihad lately?
The Soviets found out that sending even crack troops like their Spetsnaz into those mountains will assure you a lot of casualties, and those like John Kerry who want us to send troops there en masse are reckless dolts.
Bin Ladin’s days are numbered, and he’ll be taken out when he makes a mistake or good fortune shines on us or both. In the meantime, he’s not effective, period. Seriously, what has he been able to do since 911?

bin Laden is a two-bit hack who seeks a spotlight for a sick and twisted view of notoriety. I wish that we would just catch and kill him so that we can give him what he wants a one way ticket to hell, where he belongs. He has already made his impact on world history and not for the right reasons, the best thing that we could do to him is to ignore his next tirade against the U.S. and act like he never existed.

This will not stop with his capture/death. They are not a military with an absolute chain of command like the Nazis or any other historically traditional army. They have no infrastructure to take out, only their foot soldiers. The foot soldiers do the killing so they must be taken out first. Bin Laden would never strap a bomb to himself or personally fly a plane into a building. It it is unbelievable that some people think that our government orchestrated 9/11. How many people would have to be in on this? Hundreds? Thousands? If the government can’t get its people to keep quite about current secret programs don’t you think even just one person might leak that one?

Usama bin Laden has been in custody for years. He will be “captured” publicly in October of this year. Then he will escape in January 2007. Then “captured” again in mid 2008. It’s an old play…

The US Media is the major part of Osama’s Master Plan to “divide & conquer” in his block busting hit The Fall of the Great Satan (A Michael Moore sequel). The Dixie Chicks are the warm-up band. You, my fellow Americans, have the leading role! So get your remote control, a cold beverage, & chips and get ready to scream on the top of your voices at your television sets. Immediately afterwards you are expected to (at the next earliest convenient opportunity, of course) argue with a member of the opposite political party of which you are affiliated with. This should be a close friend or family member preferably. Any questions, call your local radio station talk show hosts for advice. So congratulations on your role! By the way, you were typecast selected. Enjoy!

He divided our country pretty well. We are all so angry at each other and busy bickering amongst ourselves that the fight is being lost. We look like fools at home which reflects back on the our troops abroad. I’m thinking Bin Laden studied a little Ho Chi Mihn before 911 – just sitting there watching us tear ourselves apart and slink back with our tail between our legs.
First it was Europe, then Latin America, Southeast Asia and now the Middle East…I think we need another Woodrow Wilson to bring America back into focus. America can be great without having to rely on THEM.

I well remember Michael Moore and some Hollywood kooks “predicting” that Bin Laden would be captured right before the 2004 election.
Listen, if you think the CIA could pull off a conspiracy like this, you really ought to spend some time realizing they are just like any other government agency. They have problems with infighting, “memo wars”, computer systems that don’t talk to other systems, and whatnot. It’s very reminiscent of NASA. It is really a trip to meet CIA people and find out they’re from every possible political persuasion — definitely not a bunch of Cold Warriors. Half of them voted for Kerry.
Creating and comparing a match for a voice based off a DSP analysis of it is no big deal and has not been for years. What’s the big fuss? As for the 3 days, go look at Al-Jazeera’s website for yourself.
I’m just saddened to see so many people who actually believe some pretty far out stuff.

I would love to think differently of our president, but I honestly feel, that he wants this war and wants to make everyone feel as though it is not safe anymore in America, because of terrorism… I am not saying we don’t have terrorist here in America, but enough is enough. I am getting sick and tired of seeing him on the television saying this has to be done or that has to be done, when in fact he is doing anything for our men and women fighting this war all because of his oil interest and his money he is getting from it all….

That bin Laden was ‘on payroll” of US or CIA is an absurd myth. Afghans were given limited military assistance in defeating Soviets because that was in US interest. Also, the idea that the President wants this war and that it’s about oil is ridiculous. Islamist jihadists hate freedom and wish to spread sharia (Islamic law) throughout the world. That’s what this is about. Sharia is a more oppresive dictatorship than communism. Do the research.

Many wonder why America can’t catch Bin Laden. The answer is simple: You need human intelligence inside Pakistan. You need to infiltrate Al Qaeda in Pakistan. Bin Laden is hiding in Pakistan. To get him, the U.S. must work inside Pakistan, on the ground. Ok, enough.

If we accept that bin Laden is still alive, we should develop a set of incentives, such as various (use your imagination) extra judicial action against his closest family members. This might cause him to , as they say, come forward. If he doesn’t come forward, then we have been moderately successful in eliminating several potential terrorists and we can continue to apply other incentives that might cause him to come around to our way of thinking.

Hi,
I still think it is interesting that he is able to make the tapes. It is like, Col. Haha of “12 O’clock high” fame when the allies botched a mission in WWII. I think real progress will come when people start to listen less to what he says and more of what is accomplished by the allies in this war.
I do hope that when this war ends, we can restore civil liberties that has been taken away, i.e. Free speech zones instead of free speech anywhere, or curtailed, i.e. the Patriot Act.
Just my 2 cents.

I think everyone is missing the point. Recently another cleric involved in the supposed JI bombing in Bali was released from an Indonesian Jail after completing his sentence of 25mths for insighting the attack.Remember the Arabic Phrase for these attacks is that they will be successful, which of course has a different meaning in English.
And that’s why America has to catch him. The situation is further complicated by the historical perspectives of Heroin, Hemp, Contra and The Russian War in that country.
You cannot just go inside Pakistan on a Special Ops on the vague chance you might find him. You literally have to box him in financially, as well as physically. Wherever his bolt hole is it’s not a simple hole in the ground like Saddam.
If Bin Laden is just a warner, as the Koran says, then possibly by showing his duplicity in the things of this world the possibly he might lose the moral support from other sectors.
Just ask Congressman Wilson what he thinks. If anyone knows how to box in Bin Laden it’s Him.

” That bin Laden was ‘on payroll” of US or CIA is an absurd myth.”
No its a fact- but hey you cant win them all. Albeit- his ‘gruop’ grew into a thing of its own after the US agreed to pull back support in exchange for the ghlasnost policies of the Gorbachev era. ie we traded the Berlin wall falling for Soviet to leave afghanistan and lower us support.
In reality- the whole deal was nothing more than payback for Vietnam and to try and counterbalance communist support in central american revoltionary movements.
But that was the cold war… another time and era.
“Afghans were given limited military assistance in defeating Soviets because that was in US interest. …”
Its no secret that the US government supported factions in Afghanistan. Over a billion dollars was spent – But also men were sent in as trainors, along with equiptment, the CIA in published reports of expenditures even went to the extent of supporting a factory even in Egypt to create the impresion weapons it sent- was Arab support for the Mujahadin fighters and sent supplies into the region on ‘air america’ flights through pakistan and ran mule trains into
the same areas where Laden may now be hiding.
But – more so… in the end Germany, Poland, and other eastern block states in the balance the US gave up support handing it over to other countries towards the end of the then Soviet ocupation.
Funny but I still have the brosure supporting the Mujahadin fighters in afghanstan from the carter era then Reagan periods.
They recruited heavily here in the Philippines among islamic rebel groups. Who were actually seperatists.
I have met scores and interviewed men who fought and have pictures with thier US trainors from that era- even letters and comendations for thier support versus the fight versus Soviet tyranny at that time.
Its how ‘the base’ or al qaeda first came into being a messenger and support service for fighters versus the then Soviets.
Like I said – JED | Jun 28, 2006 10:50:36 PM – history is stranger than fiction.

I remember a college professor of mine say something that at the time sounded too cliquish to be of any use, he said “Follow the money” if you want to know what is really going on. If you want to understand what really motivates anyone follow the money.
Financially who has benefitted from the actions the US has taken since we laucnhed this WAR on an emotion…. After you get to reviewing the profit on oil sales, the profits in arms sales, on companies that reapir broken oil machinery, etc. Then ask yourslef a simple question> “Who was in a position to make decisions that could of had an influence on the profitability of those industries?
Then you will see why the world in general perceives the US as a greater threat to world stability than a guy hiding in a cave.

Either that or he is living under the protection of the islamic fascists in Northern Iran where we can’t get him and it’s tough for him to get anything out of there, because his protectors don’t want them to be next on our hit list with troops and aircraft on their border. for instance, the clear fact that catching bin laden would increase terrorist activity- not diminish it- is very unpleasant to face.
bin laden is a seed that has taken root.

The so called left does not beleive that capturing or killing Bin Laden will end the war on terror. The war on terror cannot be won by military force alone, it is a matter of changing peoples minds and life.Combining the two elements with understanding the vast cultural differences is the only way to win the war. Take a moment and pause, think about how this country has changed in the last 100 years.

why don’t you all wake up and realise bin laden is a gov’t cover up…they don’t want to find him…yet. Its going to take time for the US to take over the middle east but we do have it under control and it is going to happen which is entitled to us since we should have got control of the middle east when we won world war 2. the US is the worlds greatest power and should start acting like it. I’m simply amazed people still think there is no connection between bin laden and 9/11. We know terrorists were being trained and financed by bin laden, we know he supported alqueda (SP) by providing funding and we know he advocates the destruction of the West. That’s good enough for me to support hunting him down and then assisting him in his endeaver to see paradise. Of course, notice he isn’t on the front line anywhere, another example of do as I tell you to do, not as I do. Hopefully the kidney problems he reportedly has will deliver him to paradise soon. I also hope that every one of these idiots that strap a bomb on in preparation of getting to paradise and their promised virgins realize about 1/1000 of a second after pulling the pin that the act of killing innocents damned them.
Speaking of idiots, anyone that thinks the President is reluctant to capture bin laden or is “saving” him for some future political game probably thinks aliens are watching and there still is an easter bunny.

Josh… our own FBI said there is no evidence linking bin laden to 911. Additionally ask yourselves these questions: Why did the CIA visit bin laden in a dubai hospital in July of 2001? How long was the CIA supporting bin laden, AFTER they provided the weapons to afghanistan in the 1980s in order to repel the Russian invasion? Why did WTC-7 fall when it wasn’t hit? Why were members of the bin-laden family allowed to leave the country when no one else could fly out, on 9-12? Why were they meeting with the Carlyle Group on 9-11? Why did flight-93 leave a wreckage trail 8 miles long, if it crashed in a field? What is Thermate? Why, if 911 happened exactly as we are TOLD, did we not attack saudi arabia? After all, it was supposedly orchestrated by an expatriate, and 15 of its citizens….

Has it ever occurred to anyone that the reason we haven’t been attacked in the U.S. by terroists since 9/11 is because we are fighting them over there and not over here?

To those who ask if the US can capture the 7 plotters in Miami, but not nab Bin Laden, I suggest you join the Army like many have, and go to Afghanistan, and you will there learn why Bin Laden has not been captured. Maybe you can be the one to capture him, you indicate that you think it should easy.
If ABC News, NYTimes or any of the rest of the mainstream media knew where Bin Laden was hiding, they would never disclose it to the US Government. Their paranoid hate for the President overrides all else. If they think it will “help Bush” it will not be done, sadly.

Does anyone rememeber when President Clinton sent the cruise missles at Bin Laden’s base in Afganistan long before 911 and the Republicans accused him of just trying to deflect attention about his affair? Then after 3,000 Americans were killed they decide to be the War on Terror party…
Hypocrites!

Posted by: Henry | June 29, 2006, 8:00 am 8:00 am

Bin Laden will soon endorse the Democratic Party so the sheep voters can flock to the GOP again and give him the war he wants! He has succeeded in costing us trillions first with 911 and then the predictable response to follow with nationalist Bush and his cronies. Why are so predictable? The Russian death squad will get their Iraqi killers in weeks and the IDF will get their soldier back unlike the US who must watch our young men butchered and do nothing! Does anyone see what Israel is doing about one soldier? Can’t anyone see the difference? Palestinian Terrorist will think twice before ever playing hostage again but our response to Bin Laden and other butchers is a joke! Watch the IDF in the next week and see the difference between lame and fierce action! Even if they kill the poor young soldier it will never be worth the losses they will suffer under a real response! Do you think Israel or the Russians would sit outside the Pakistan border begging to get in if they knew the killer of thousands of their citizens was there? Does anyone realize the one with the biggest mouth is always the biggest coward? BUSH!

What is wrong with the people posting here? It is somehow reasonable to compare arresting some citizens in Miami to tracking down a terrorist in lawless mountain lands? Have any of you been in the military and seen or felt the struggles of working in these lands? How long did it take to catch Eric Rudolph who was hiding in the forests right here in the US? I want him caught just as much, or more, than most of you but if you think it’s an easy task or one that is not seriously being addressed, please….. come back to earth.

The world’s richest terrorist can’t afford videotape anymore ?

Posted by: RD | June 29, 2006, 8:31 am 8:31 am

WOW! I honestly thought that the fanatical left was a myth…apparently not. Let us be very clear on a few points…
1. Getting Bin Laden would be great, but would in NO WAY end the war on terror.
2. The government does not make these tapes to keep our interest and desire for a war on terror…there are plenty of other terrorists killing innocents every day that we can focus on.
3. Why will it take 3 days to release the tape? Because our government must do their best to ensure that Bin Laden is not in any way sending a message to a sleeper cell in hometown, usa, or anywhere else for that matter.
4. GWB Has stood by everything he said he would do. While i support him, there are, of course, some things I disagree with. However, let me tell you this…if a liberal was in charge of this country, we’d all be wearing turbans on our heads by now.
5. Please, please, please…stop the conspiracy theories. You want a consipiracy? You know that guy that lives next door to you? He’s watching you…he’s with the aliens from outerspace and they are reading your mind. There you go. Take that conspiracy and run with it.

The people responding that there is no threat from Bin Laden or the Islamofacists are the real threat to this country. They have there heads in the sand if they believe this war is only about Bin Laden or Hussein. The flower children of the 60′s have smoked themselves in to a state of delusionment that is so comical yet so dangerous. These are the same nutcases that see the US as a bigger threat to world peace than the terrorists. Thank God that President Bush was in office at this time in the countrys history. Can anyone imagine what Al Gore or John Kerry would be doing right now? I dare say it would make Chamberlain look like a rookie when it comes to appeasement.

I am an American who supports President Bush and the War On Terror. During war, I see and hear two voices, Patriots and enemies. I will not give up, nor will America. Anyone who is not the enemy and wishes to libel America should remain silent until the war ends. Telling lies is only necessary for the enemy, otherwise it is an unhealthy practice that should be broken. Exercise your freedom of speech wisely, enjoy your Liberty, and continue to support freedom for the world. Even with its deficiencies, American is an excellent example for the world to model.

Posted by: Wes | Jun 28, 2006 8:29:47 PM
Wes, by far your post was the most honest and provocative one I’ve read. Yet, those who continue to ignore or simply not glean the basic premise:
Americans, specifically white males, are unable to rationally and conscienciously acknowledge that their representative government has killed, murdered and stolen the property and resources of other nations to maintain its predominate as a superpower.
If I may add:
In order for America to remain a superpower it must continue to send its jobs overseas whilst attempting to control the natural resources of other small and poor nation-states. The endless and obviously mindless circular arguments here only demonstrate that many of those who hold America position so high, are incapable of seeing that Bin Laden is an example of what occurs when native people resist America’s ambitions.
Wes, other than your post, not one poster seems to grasp the ‘irony’ that America feels it is O.K. to embrace violence and albeit war to advance her goals, while castigating and demonizing any other people who similarly uses it to advance it.
Those folks here clearly demonstrate that many Americans clearly operate on a double standard soaked in hyprocrisy as they table their crimes while yelling at the top of their lungs about the evil deeds of other men. As history shows, such a cheerleading squad eventually meets a painful death and decline.

These posts would be funny if they were not so scary. Please try to assimilate this…I know it can be difficult for some on the left and even the so-called warmongers on the right, but here goes…the usa and free countries around the world are fighting a religious war and Bush failed to tell us the hard truths…Why? Bush has never grasped this ugly truth… One more time. We are fighting a 1400 year old religious war with roots to the Dark Ages and he does not have the vocabulary or frame of reference for defining this war. A radical/extreme Islamic religious world sees no reason to fear us. Terrorists will attack USA on our soil when they get nuclear/biological weapons. Here is a news flash. This war will be won if we recognize it for what it is and fight it, not with one hand tied behind our backs, but like our way of life and civilization depends on it.

Both liberals and conservatives are wrong.
This war would have happened even if we did nothing wrong what so ever. Even if we didn’t support Israel. They would have started it nevertheless.
.
Only a change of heart and mind will save the lives of billions of people in the years to come.
Having revenue from drugs and oil, the Arabs will seek those weapons that can inflict the kind of massive death that only they can savor. Democracy isn’t the answer. New energy sources isn’t the answer. The question is whether the Arabs will choose peace now or suffer their own Hiroshima later. They may win every battle, but in the end they must lose this war, for it was unjust to begin with.

Has anybody asked if there is a connection between the Miami terrorists and the Canadian terrorists? Seems odd that it never came up in the press.
Here’s a prime example of why America is in decline. Rather than contemplate why terrorist exist and or why they have choosen to attack America, some follow right behind the words eminating from the government apparatus and the media.
The ‘dirty’ little secret is that this America, the one in which we shall began to celebrate her 320th birth day on the 4th of July excludes is that in order for America to be well America, she must punder and kill.
It is a bitter pill to swallow for some who buy into the government spun line that terrorist hate us for our freedom and our values. A quick analogy is the wealthy Civil War landowner who regularly attends church with his white wife and kids, who later visits slave row and does his business in the dark of night with his Negro concubines. In the light of day he wishes to protray himself and his culture and behavior as beyond reproach: he is the epitomy of Southern living: a gentleman’s gentlemen; but; in reality he is all, yet none of these things, simply a flawed individual who would rather believe he is perfect and that he is better and his culture is better than others who he exploits for his personal and self-fish gains.
America, thus being wholly run by these men sons and grandsons takes on this psychology, culture and behavior. Its rulers wreck the social barriers of other people and their customs, while believing that they are spreading goodwill and among other things democracy. The key word is believe: by virtue of the tone and tenor of the posts here it is clear that many can’t fanthom the sheer wickedness that America must operate on to return home to paint and reinvent itself as the home of the brave and the land of the free.
America’s deeds and wealth lay squarely on the destruction of others for it to promote herself as just. For some to accept or first even acknowledge this fact, they must first acquire the ‘guts’ to overcome the cognitive disosance that prevents them from facing that the privileged lives that they live is a result of those things that their government does in the dark of the night in another part of town.
And for the precious few, that have managed to squeeze through the bubble of self-denial, their voices are always the same: “if we don’t do it to them then they will do it to us.” This rationalization built on fear is and always has been the driving force on which America has been built, and today as the stakes become even greater because of nuclear weapons, one can only hope that someone will have the insight to use common sense and compromise to reverse what trends seem to be pointing to a very speedy violent end for America and its very gullible white citizenry.

I find it very interesting that those who like to claim Osama Bin Laden had nothing to do with 9/11.
It’s as if my friends killed at Khobar towers by Osama Bin Laden didn’t matter at all. I was at Khobar towers just a couple of weeks prior to the bombing. I witnessed a white car scoping the place out. When the police came to question them they sped out and almost hit me. If Bin Laden had nothing to do with 9/11, I would still have gone in to Afghanistan. You folks don’t care when kids in their 20′s get killed in their barracks or a ship is blown up, or are kidnapped and executed. It doesn’t bother you a bit, well 9/11 brought it home. And all you do is sit and whine at your computers. It’s really sickening to listen to all the whining here.

Why do you think you have the right to dictate what other people in countries thousands of miles away from you should or should not do, how they should or should not behave, deal with theire resources and just hand them over to the US?
You are the only power in the world that has ever used atomic powere against innocent civilians and then when things go badly you turn around and ask WHY?
Well guess why? cause you mingle where you have no right to. Cause you want everything for yourselves and not having to pay for it.
I have precious friends and family in the US and do not condone anything like Sept 11 but at least dont be so naive as to wonder why it is happening to you!

If we killed obl and every terror cell in the world, it wouldn’t even slow this war a bit. It’s just not what it’s all about. Its about world domination, political power, money, oil, economics, contracts, etc.
Even if we totally eliminated Al-queda and the others, This country and its current administration would still find a new immediatly endangering enemy, (Comunists, anti democratic countries, nuclear threats, Inhumane leaders, etc.)
In a troubling economic time, I believe they felt that they needed a war to further ensure the stable growth and power of the united states.
So in the present reality they will always be able to find a new enemy. And we can always have a reasonable war.
Welcome to endless war, economic prosperity, and world domination.
If you can’t understand the mindset of these people of an endless war, perhaps you should read George Bushs speach he gave immediatly after 9-11. It might clear it up for you. They had it planned all along.
As for Osama, Kill him or not, it wont make a difference, It wont stop the war. It won’t even slow it down for a moment. it will just give us all something more to talk about for a long while

It took us 20 years to find Ted Kuszinski (the Unibomber) and he lived in our own country. Bin Laden used to attack us. Then we toppled his regime in Afghanistan. Then he used to threaten us with video tapes. Now he can only make tape recordings. Next he will be using carrier pigeons. We are forcing him further and further underground. We’ll get him one day. But the good news is that we have rendered him all but useless. Remember, we have 45 of the 55 deck of cards. Al Qaeda ain’t what she used to be.

All you lib conspiracy nuts make me laugh. I bet you think the airplanes that caused 9/11 were flown via remote control by a super secret “black ops” program within the CIA….meant to set Armageddon and the New World Order in motion by giving GW a reason to lead a “crusade” on Islam in their back yard.

Your ramblings are based upon what your College professors have told you or what some book told you…pathetic. If you are not willing to live and test your theories your a coward and not worthy of being taken serious. Live it. Your far out whack job Conspiracy theories are a disgrace to the lives of the friends I’ve lost. The enemy is real and I assure you they have a severe hatred for Hindus, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and believe me the pure absolute hatred they have for atheists is even stronger. I support the war. If you don’t believe in Democracy or Freedom do you believe there are people who want to kill you because you’re not Muslim? Tell Ann Coulter the “Left is Right” perhaps her head could digest that. Bin Laden pulled off 911 with G.W.Bush help and does not need to do much of anything else. If republicans really supported our military then why did they vote for the alcoholic, coke sniffer, national guard shirk, especially in 2004 and for plenty of us you might wonder that about 2000 as well. Unlike before, I’m am not leading him blindly through the desert. History will soon prove this. Yes, I could have used a small group of ninja, but I needed a visible leader.

It is surreal that people are actually still defending Bush. Osama is dead. How many proven fake Bin Laden messages do you need? On Dec. 13, 2001, the Pentagon released a fake tape and attributed it as a Bin Laden confession. I strongly suggest you people stop listening to mainstream media liars.

i’ve holidayed in places like Morrocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt etc etc and I don’t know which planet you have been visiting but these people are just normal getting on with their daily lives.
Funny how people in Afghanistan, Iraq might hate you how would you feel if some Arab govt. installed a puppet govt. in washington?

Osama, is like every other big talking terrist, he boasts of killing office workers, babies women and children, people who are going about their nomal day activities shopping for food, then they hide behind the womens shirt or in a child’s school, what a bunch of scared baby killers. The problem is everytime one of these folks says something the press has to report it as news. What “NEW” about Osama. Let him die in the grave he dug himself. The only news I want to here about him is when the they scrape him off somee rock wall.

Way to Go Boris,The lib’s think that our Gov’t is the root to all of this but their misleadings tell me one thing and that is that “I” as a responsible American citizen must do my part in the support and underlying privelege to back our leaders and military in the hunt for ruthless murderers who for so long have been studying the U.S. and its people for the purpose of instilling fear and chaos. The folks who think its all a farce weren’t there to watch their friends/family crash to the ground within the crumbling towers,or fought beside the soldiers who work to eliminate the rogue elements in these extremist countries.I say it was the time when we took the extreme measures that be to eliminate these people and for those who oppose our leaders actions as well as the voice of DEMOCRACY,you are not being held against your will, Leave the U.S.and be one with whom ever you choose to be just don’t complain when your mudhut gets hit with a 500 lb’er…….

Simple reason why Bin Laden hasn’t been captured. He is a CIA asset. Also he had a former CIA name also during the 70′s. Without Bin Laden or the so called Bin Laden there would be no so called War on Terror. The War on Terror is only a cover for bringing one world government. Bush gets lots of good media coverage when any so called Al Qaide attack or send out a message. It scares the American people so they will vote Bush back in. Karl Rove answers it all because he continously insists using 9/11 as a campaign tool. Look further not at the crust. Also Bin Laden was trained by the CIA to fight off the Soviets. Think

This is not a left/right issue. Your political affiliation doesn’t determine whether your rights are taken away, all of us have! If you feel like we should sacrifice liberty for safety then you deserve neither. Some are enlightened, and we will continue to enlighten others whether you like it or not. State-sponsored terrorism is here to stay until we wake up. A TRUE patriot questions his/her government’s motives, that can’t be done by following blindly. This is a true test of intelligence, let’s pass this one shall we?

Why Osama is still out? How come he can make video tapes not Cd?
If he got arrested the Drama will end. Do you want a quick end may be yes like me. But what if someone don’t want this to end soo quick? What if someone want this Osama legend to live more?
Other question, why he can’t make cd? I think by this way it could be much effective to show that tapes are made by Osama.
According to my own survey most of the Muslims were not aware of Osama. But now he is known as Legend of Osama. He is a hero to them. Whom should we blame for this? I guess, we can blame Media and Websites(Internet providers) who let them to use these sources for publicity.

Whether OBL is dead or alive makes little difference. These people have done a number on us already. We are:
a divided nation
losing our civil rights
beset by one party rule
more distrustful of government
dispised in much of the world
scraping our national moral values
placing a huge debt on our children
shattering the lives of many people
Things certainly are different since that fateful day. But it should have been something which brought us together and made us stronger. Those in power bear the main responsiblity…”the bucks stops here”. Our national condition is not a right/left thing but one of love of country and doing what we can to make it better. Let’s begin by being informed voters and not getting conned by any career politician.

Osama is DEAD.
He died in ’01.
Remember the CIA saying so?
Remember Bush saying on television, at least twice, that he wasn’t “worried” about him?
Remember Ann Coulter saying, a few months ago (on Fox News), “Osama bin Laden died in 2001″?
Remember back then how gravely ill he looked because he couldn’t get his kidney dialysis in the CAVE he lived in?
He’s DEAD.

Why he has not been caught,is because the bin laden family and the bush family are bedfellows in the oil bussiness and have other interests together, was it not amazing on 9-11 all planes were grounded accept the flight that flew the bin laden family out of the usa after they spent the week with rumsfield and bush.when will people wake up ?

Posted by: amani | June 30, 2006, 3:31 am 3:31 am

First off, bil Laden is probably long dead. But more important, the FBI “most wanted” poster for him makes no mention he’s wanted in connection with 9-11. When asked why, the FBI stated they had no evidence connecting bin Laden with the attack.
Wake up, as stated above Cheney and crew pulled off 9-11, it WAS AN INSIDE JOB.
The reporters above are working for the real terrorists in our government; shills running flak. All lies. Foreshame, ABC news.

I am encouraged by the postings of so many who are not fooled by the propaganda machine. How interesting that ABC allows these postings, yet continues to spew forth the same old tripe. Of course 9/11 truth should be the main focus, particularly since controlled demolition of WTC has been scientifically proven.

Hey guys! Bin Laden is dead, these audio tapes are easily faked.
Very suspicious how no videos of Bin Laden have surfaced since the last obvious forgery. Many inconsistencies and questions were raised by that tape since it looked nothing like the real Bin Laden.
Basically, Bin Laden died in December 2001 after denying involvment in 9/11.

Osama’s back and this time he’s in a video. nevermind the fact that the video is just a still photograph of him. it’s not suspicious at all that he no longer does real video tapes, even though that was his m.o prior to dec. of 2001, when we dropped daisy cutters all over tora bora where he was hiding. I’m sure he’s alive and well and that it’s just a big coincidence we never see him anymore. he just doesn’t like being on screen anymore, probably because he cant find a decent videographer. I’m convinced!

Insted we go for Sadem… Shouldnt we be focusing on the bad guy? I do beleive this is there culture and not ours. Who are we to go to another country and tell them how to run it??? We need to feed and support our own people and take care of our own people here and not worry about that other country. Yes, I understand what Bin Laden has done, and yes, we do need to get him for this cowardly pitaful act he done. But we have no rights on telling another country on how to run it. We need to worry about Bin Laden and our own people and not to try to control other countrys. They have different cultures than us here in the usa… Who are we to try and control the WORLD ??? We have starving people right here in the USA. Dont you think it is time to get our guys back home to there family and tighten our security up on our boarders and take care of our own folks first? The liberal press loves this guy. The more he speaks, the more they exploit the tapes, the worse for Bush. What a game. I’m surprised the liberal news media isn’t having an Osama interview with Dan Rather or Barbara Walters on a Sunday evening special. The interview would show the softer, kinder, gentle side of the man, just as past interviews with Saddam.

Posted by: Dr. Vinny Boom-Botz | July 3, 2006, 9:25 am 9:25 am

IF George W. Bush ever needed a reason to INVADE another country, this is it! North Korea is a criminal and terrorist state. It is highly likely that the maniac in charge of one million henchmen will someday sell an ATOMIC WEAPON to AL QUAEDA. That would spell the deaths of million of Americans and put the world on the path to even worse things to come.
President Bush invaded Iraq on the pretext that Saddam Hussein might, “MIGHT” have nuclear weapons that he could then sell to Al Quaeda. There were none found. THE WORLD is DEAD CERTAIN that North Korea has them and now they are aiming missiles that will someday be tipped with a nuclear bomb AT US.
HOWEVER, the decision to start a major conflict that this would be should not be left in the hands of ONE MAN, especially the man who got it WRONG LAST TIME. WE SHOULD PUT THIS ISSUE OF WHETHER OR NOT WE DECLARE WAR ON NORTH KOREA ON the BALLOT. Let the people decide. It’s OUR SECURITY. It’s OUR FUTURE at stake. Let us hope that the decision is made on REAL FACTS and not emotion. BUT, let us make the decision TOGETHER, as a NATION, dedicated to our survival as the greatest nation on the Earth.
GOD HELP US. It’s not a simple decision to be made because million of innocent South Koreans and Japanese people’s lives will be put at risk if we invade.
WE NEED TO BE RESOLVED AS ONE NATION as we were so resulved in WORLD WAR TWO to make the sacrifices and be committed as a nation to wipe the scourge of NAZIism off the face of the Earth. SO IT IS NOW. We must wipe the sourge of TERRORISM off the Face of the Earth because if we FALTER, if we DELAY, we could lose millions of innocent American Lives. World War Two is a PICNIC compared to what could happen if AL QUAEDA gets the Atomic Bomb. Kim Jong-Il has them. He has stated he will sell them to the highest bidders. Al Quaeda, thanks in part to President Bush’s decision NOT to go after Osama Bin Laden and his Saudi Feinds, HAS THE MONEY to buy them and the will to use them on us for the simple reason that THEY HATE US. They HATE our way of life. We like to see our Women FREE and EQUAL and the their world wants to see the women of the world enslaved. They also hate the JEWS. THE SIMILARITIES to HITLER’s NAZI regime are staggering.
DO IT NOW. PRESERVE YOUR FREEDOM before there is nothing to presever. Should we start dropping bombs on NOrth Korea NOW before THEY start dropping them or helping Al Quaeda drop them on US?
IT’S really as simple as that. ONLY A REAL DEMOCRACY should have the power to decide this awesome and historic question of will to survive. Will it be them or US?

I am tired of hearing in the media about people freaking out about restrictions on airlines, and new security measures the dept of homeland security is wanting to implement. PEOPLE!! WAKE UP!!! Our almost limitless freedom is one of the reasons we couldn’t stop this in the first place. The time has come to surrender a few freedoms in light of saftey and security for the american people! The intellegence the dept of homeland security can aquire may save lives! I personally don’t care if someone at the fbi listens in to a few of my phone calls, or intercepts some e-mail if they feel they have reason. If it means I can feel a little bit more safe knowing tha big brother is looking out for us, then I will do what it takes. Stop being so damn self-centered and worried about your own damn privacy and look out for a greater good, the security of the nation and the world. No this is not the only answer or solution, but it’s a step. I never have agreed with our current administration, but if we want osma brought to justice, lets re-examine what you are willing to do to see it happen. Furthermore, when not if, but when we catch him, screw civility and humane punishment, look at what he has caused. He should be locked in a four by four cell with no light and only fead bread and a few vitamins, and water twice a day until he dies a miserable death, giving him plenty of time to be visited my the spirit of every life he took.

Killing Bin Laden obviously does not serve the fear tactics that government learned from religion on how to control the masses. Why kill what keeps those in power? Let him release his tapes, let him use Americans as bombs to kill Americans. I figure if the President doesn’t care, why should I? I am devout and pious, but in some ways, I can’t wait until the hippies die so the rational people can finally bring some sanity.

It’s a politics. Bush is friends with Bin Laden’s family(Oil buddies ya know), and he really don’t give a darn about 9/11. Someone should take Bush out and let him fight the war along side of the soldiesr over there and see how long he last. I think it’s all bull about Bin Laden abd Bush isn’t even trying. Hey Bush! It’s funny to hear the paranoid right-wingers continue to blame “liberals” and the “liberal media bias”. By calling it a “liberal media bias” the right-wingers not only neutralize accountability as being “biased” against them, they also deflect criticism of their own right-wing media bias. You say “liberal” as if it were a derogatory insult. Same faction of people who were perpetually afraid of “commies”. It’s a modern day witch hunt, except this time, instead of being orchestrated by a junior Senator from Wisconsin, it is an entire infrastructure of the Republican Party. Can you name one person who has a liberal media bias? Someone who has name recognition? No, you can’t. Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, both Hannity and Colmes, oh wait, I’m just listing people who represent the Fox News Channel.
But also, this is the same Republican Party who seems to have a monopoly on family values against the “immoral left”, but Newt has been divorced twice. Ted Haggard anyone? Jerry Falwell? These are the men behind the “Moral movement” of the 1980′s, but Haggard a feared homosexual, Falwell a liar and a cheat.

Come on people, do any of you have more than 5 brain cells to rub together? The tape is a fake, it looks SIMILAR to bin Laden but not the SAME since it’s not the same person. These tapes always come out when they help the Cheney regime the most. This one was annouced that it would be released soon a few hours after the latest Zogby poll shows a majority of Americans want a new [read: REAL] investigation into 9/11. The last time Zogby did a poll like that a day later guess what happened? ANOTHER “Al Qaeda” tape was released. Then there’s the tape in late October 2004, days before the presidential election, to give Bush nifty talking points to use, making the Dems out to be on the same page as Osama. Just before the illegal invasion of Iraq began, “Osama” releases a tape praising the Iraqi people and asking martyrs to come to Iraq to help defeat the invaders. Starting to see a pattern here? If not I have a wonderful bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

Osama said he never was behind the 9/11 attack but is glad some one else did it and he’s already dead (and also he’s a former CIA agent in the USA). I believe the Bush Administration is the mastermind of the 9/11 incident ever since I saw a documentary about it and I think they did it just to promote patriotism and blame it on Osama. I starting to believe the american government is really corrupted.

Before we can learn from history so as to not repeat it, we must know the truth about what has happened. The creativity with which past events have been spun herein has been entertaining. I especially liked the one about having 5 brain cells to rub together.
Lets start with some undesputable facts. People have been killing others because of their religeous beliefs for a very long time. Planes have crashed into buildings and innocent life lost, which shows that as society has advanced so has the potential loss from a single act of insanity. Biological agents like anthrax, chemical agents like nerve gas, and nuclear weapons are real; and represent a huge risk to humanity. This will not go away. It REQUIRES management by rational people and governments. 9/11 was a wake up call.
If you are waiting for me to say “now pay attention because here are the complete answers” then I must disappoint you. I AM sure about this:
it is helpful, even critical to keep your eye on the ball, which is about MANAGING REAL AND PRESENT RISKS TO HUMANITY. Regarding terrorism, the rest is just a loss of focus.
If I could be allowed one rambling I would focus on the conclusion of the season premeer of TV show 24 wherein the new USA President speaks of Life Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness being potentially lost as a result of apathy, greed, and fear.
We (the people) will choose the outcome by action or by default. Freedom is not free. We no longer live safely on this side of the ocean. Military power is crutial, but by itself is inadequate. Gen. Petraus has shown us that we must connect with others in ways that are meaningful to them.
Regarding OBL, he probably was instrumental in 9/11. Many people would benefit from the closure of seeing that the perpertrator of 9/11 received an appropriate response from rational society. Life is in fact not always fair, but I enjoy the hope that in this case OBL will pay the fiddler. Even this is taking my eye off of the ball.
