ABC News Exclusive: Three Alleged Ringleaders ID’d

Three of the alleged ringleaders of the foiled airplane bomb plot have been identified by Western intelligence agencies involved in unraveling the plot.

Two of them are believed to have recently traveled to Pakistan and were later in receipt of money wired to them from Pakistan, reportedly to purchase tickets for the suicide bombers.

Sources identify the three, who are now in custody, as:

–Rashid Rauf

–Mohammed al-Ghandra

–Ahmed al Khan

Wow. Imagine if it was the wiring of those funds that sprung the police action. Could mean a very close call indeed.

‘Three Alleged Ringleaders ID’d’ <–Bush, Cheney, Rove?
Bush bin Laden is planning another 9/11 – to strike just before the November 'elections' – as Lamont has shown that even Diebold can't save them now.
Cheers,

Pakistan huh, a close ally in the terrorwar and whos intelligence agency has notoriously close ties to militant muslim groups. There’s a big chance the ISI had a hand in this.

I wonder if they were caught by the US monitoring of international wire transfers (SWIFT)? If so it was before it was exposed to the world by overzealous reporters with an anti-Bush agenda. Way to go New York Times for blowing the cover on that program and endangering my country.

Wow! Another terror alert – just as Cheney/Bush/Snow equate Lamont vote in CT with siding with Al Qaeda. Goes to show you, I guess, that if you’re against the war in Iraq, then you’re still with the turrists. Let’s ramp up the fear factor right until – ta da! – the election in November. Let’s see if I got this straight: Bush cabal could go down (if Diebold doesn’t steal it again) and get indicted for war crimes (if the Senate doesn’t rewrite the Geneva Conventions on War Crimes) and so it’s time to show the rest of Amurka that they have everything to fear, including fear itself – especially fear of flying. Let’s ask Erica Jong about this one…

If the ringleaders are “alleged,” why isn’t “the foiled airplane bomb plot” also “alleged”?

Posted by: mike | August 10, 2006, 3:44 pm 3:44 pm

They found this out by monitoring the wired funds. What about the privacy rights of the poor terrorists? Shouldn’t they be able to wire money without government interference? What will the New York Times say?

Posted by: Steve | August 10, 2006, 4:13 pm 4:13 pm

Thankfully, this happened in England and not here in the USA where bleeding hearts would have made sure the wire transfer and telephone calls of these plotters would be free from wiretap or trace.

Thanks for the news that 5 are still at large, here in the UK we’re being told hardly anything to avoid “panic”. If the remainder of a cell fears it is cornered – we have reason to be very cautious here in London over the next few days on ALL forms of transport.

Oh. You mean the monitoring of international funds transfers that was exposed recently by the NY Times, et al? The one where the Swiss have decided to clamp down on the sharing of related information? The one that was just another indication of the evil Bush/Cheney/Rove conspiracy to steal our freedoms?
That one? Thank God and the liberal press that it won’t happen anymore!

Why do we continue to use the term suicide when the correct term would be homicide?!!
This is why border control is so important and the continued fight against terroism must be fought with commitment and that includes Iraq and Afganistan.

Al Qaeda is jealous of Shite Hezbollah prominence. So, it tries to recapture the Islamist leadership by showing it too can. This failure is a major blow. I worry they are going to try again and soon.

A lot hangs on that word “alleged.” Before becoming completely hysterical and surrendering more of what little remains of our Constitutional rights, how about a conviction or two? Or will the “alleged ringleaders” simply be “detained” indefinitely without trial?

The sooner we wipe out the crazies and terrorists, the sonner we can all get on with building a better, safer world for our children. Go get them Bush! Note that both electronic surveillance and the monitoring of bank transactions were important part of breaking this plot before it was executed. I agree that if you think BushCo is behind 9/11, you’re probably wearing a tin-foil hat to keep “them” from reading your mind. I don’t think killing a bunch of people is the answer, either. They said the would be bombers are all “home grown” terrorists from the U.K. Islam needs its leaders to stop preaching fire and brimstone and scapegoating the west and focus on family values and modernize their religion.

The problem with our gov’t is that they brand everyone as a terrorist and there’s never in between. Our gov’t fails to see how they much hatred they create by our unfair policies. If anyone voices that, they are of course a terrorist! Of course true terrorists exist (and should be punished accordingly), but the majority of these people in other countries are not terrorists, they simply hate the US gov’t and quite frankly, I would too if I was the recipient of Bush’s policies.

Citizens for Legitimate Government? Would that be a government that appeases terrorists as instead of trying to stop them? Would that be a government that would allow the transfer of money to terrorists and their organizations and not try to stop them? Under Bush, Cheney, and Rove we haven’t had a attack on U.S. soil since 9/11. That is the true sign of a legimate government, one that protects it’s citizens.

Now Pakistan will demand its pound of flesh. More F-16s, military aid, nuclear cooperation and easing of pressure that built up after the Bombay blasts. To a lay man it may appear as if the US and UK have some leverage with a country like Pakistan. But I am afraid that this leverage is being bought at the cost of feeding the establishment of a country that has become adept at sponsoring terrorism in the first place and then reaping the rewards of appearing to selectively curb it. Pakistan’s co-operation is usually timed to reap maximum gain with the least impact on its primary export to the world, violent jihad. The swamp that Pakistan has become, needs to be drained. Pakistan helping swat a few mosquitoes doesn’t cut it. The focus should shift to Pakistan (where it should have been from day one after Sept 11). In turn, Pakistan needs to dismantle the jihadist infrastructure whose rise it has tacitly supported and should be rewarded non-militarily for doing so. Doing otherwise will only compound the problem in the future and will entail a prohibitive cost to fix.

Owen. Let’s see. We send more $ overseas to everyone than any country in the world. Some of it even goes to our enemies as aid to people in those countries which never gets to those in need. Apparently you think that we should become a banana republic so as to assuage poorer countries jealousy. Hey man…Pass the crack pipe. I am not guilty of poverty because wealth. Freedom breed wealth, not welfare.

Owen, the western world is not “predicated on inflicting further violence on others”. The western world is predicated on freedom and commerce. We do not steal oil, or take it by conquest, though we easily could, and the House of Saud did. We buy it at fair prices.
But you are right that one of the west’s major predicates is that “America [is] ‘better’ than everywhere else”. That’s because it is. Only a person blinded by self hatred would think otherwise. Stop acting like an anorexic model who thinks she’s too fat and ugly. I am not an American.
“Current US actions only serve to entrench the iniquity that generates hatred.” What iniquity would that be? Did you mean inequity? I suspect you mean unfairness of some sort. The major terrorist organisers are middle class or rich and they suffer no inequity, iniquity or unfairness. The mid-east is poor because it is stupid, lazy, corrupt and dishonest. We have all poured huge amounts of money down that rat-hole and it mostly got stolen by the mid-easterners.
What exactly would you have us do? Come on Owen, share your genius and post a precis. Be specific, no generalizations like ‘help them’, or ‘promote justice’ or ‘education is the answer’. What manpower, what equipment, what money sent where. And tell us how we prevent them from stealing it, burning it, ignoring it and resenting it.

Yes, of course Owen, it’s all the United States fault! These people don’t have minds of their own, and beliefs (spelled: religious beliefs) that preach the killing of all infidels. It’s all GW Bush’s & America’s fault for forming these people into zealots… Grow up Owen, wake up Owen, and stop spewing this crock that we deserve this simply because of the way we live and govern ourselves. It’s the world that refuses to learn from the lessons of our founding fathers. It’s so much easier to be jealous of our country’s greatness than to emmulate it….

The Hezmaniacs, Jiheadcases and and fanatic followers of Isnuts are social misfits and psychopaths that should be segregated from the world population. An isolation of these animals would cause them to destroy each other because of the lack of innocent victims.
Freedom from these creatures would allow the rest of the world to breathe a sigh of relief and would enable these rejects to continue to treat their goats, dogs and camels better than their women. Their murdering of each other would make them happy and so with the exception of where these human pigs prowl, free rational society can continue it’s progress unimpeded by their nonsense.

Thank the New York Times for exposing the US Government’s efforts to uncover terror plots through examination of wire transfers of funds from terror suspects. Now, next time, the terrorists will be alerted to the surveillance and their plot can actually succeed giving US and UK-hating liberals something to celebrate.

Posted by: Korla Pundit | August 10, 2006, 8:29 pm 8:29 pm

It’s a wonder we can find these Islamic terrorists at all when Bill Keller and the left-wing hand-wringers at the New York Times turn traitor on the U.S. and expose our terrorist-hunting techniques for the benefit of our enemies (just to score points against George Bush and to minimize any success he may achieve). Today is a victory over our enemy. Don’t think for once that this is over. I think this is going to last for a couple generations.

Regardless of all the rhetoric from the Bush-lovers. It is a fact that under his mismanagement of the “war on terror”, the United States is LESS safe than it was when he took office. The reason is that ithe hatred for BUSH policies in the Arab world is Al- Queda’s largest recruitment tool.
The inept Dept of Homeland Security, the failed execution of the war in IRAQ and the “cut and run” strategy regarding Osama bin Laden have exposed the ineffectiveness of this failed strategy. The offense, defense, and special teams of the US need new (more competent) leadership.
It was the British and Pakistani security forces that unfoiled the plot, NOT our Dept of Homeland Security.
No matter which political party you follow, citizens owe their thanks to these EFFECTIVE British and Pakistani security forces.

Posted by: Rose | August 10, 2006, 8:38 pm 8:38 pm

This is the real war on terror, foiling plots like this. We also need to seriously think about the root causes of terrorism and address those before resorting to all out occupation of other countries with military might.
I also agree with chitt, why aren’t we doing more in Pakistan where OBL is?
All the ACLU is saying is that the wiretapping needs to be monitored by the courts. Bush can’t just go wiretapping John Kerry or Al Gore without a warrant, that would be Watergate x100.

Yeah imagine that? If it was a financial tracking surveillance that caught this, the covert program that The New York Times went and warned the terrorists about, imagine that. Since we were watching these guys for several months I wonder if now that that “secret” program is well known we will be able to catch the next attack before it happens. Thanks media, why aren’t you guys in Pakistan pointing out where these guys are before they get here instead of after the fact and than leak how our governments caught them?

WHY..? 11 Egyptians on the run this week, 1 caught in NJ, 2 in Baltimore, 1 in Minnesota, 1 caught in Chicago O’hare airport just this morning. ALL were supposed to be in MONTANA learning to speak english, and history of the State of Montana..? WHY..?
Can someone tell why this is NORMAL..? Oh and I almost forgot, 2 Saudis caught on a yellow school bus in Tampa 2 months ago and they said it was a mistake..! Bovine scatology…! What is it going to take for people to realize this issue is not going away, and we are going to have to deal with it. It is really very simple. If you don’t like the way things are here in the US, move somewhere else. Save all of your hot air to get on the phone and order you a one-way ticket to a “good” country. Of course, you’d be back here in a heartbeat.

Totally right! Does anyone think that the terrorists are not listening to our discord and are not getting strength from it? We are a family and in times of crisis the family has each others back. If we give “aid and comfort” and “Atta Boys” to the terrorists, what do you think that creates. Grow up people!

Owen writes:
“Until the US finds another strategy for working on the world stage, it is inevitably going to be the target of further terrorism. Current US actions only serve to entrench the iniquity that generates hatred.”
So let me see if I got this right….
Our actions cause inequity, and that generates hatred.
Then they need to overthrow their own governments, allow for free enterprise, and those who posess individual talents will rise to the cream of their own societies. They’ll repair their *own* inequities.
But instead, they subscribe to the Muslim philosophy of “submission.” Everyone on the planet shall submit themselves for Allah, and those who do not are required to be enslaved or killed.
You gettin’ this pal? Those who do not submit to Allah are to be enslaved or killed.
So, which do you choose?
Fixing any perceived inequities does not fix the problem UNLESS you’re ALSO willing to submit to Allah.
Personally, I’m not willing to do that. So…..
…..blow them off the face of the earth.

You gotta be kidding…..
It is complete idiocy to think that if we adopt or adopted a different posture on the world stage that this would be better. They want us dead. They wanted us dead before Bush came on board. Remember when they bombed the WTC in ’93 under Bill Clinton? How come he didn’t stop it?! Because he couldn’t…..
You prepare the best you can and be proactive. If Clinton had taken bin Laden when offered to him by the Sudanese in ’95 or so maybe we wouldn’t have nearly the problems we have now.

I don’t know how many of you remember that bin Laden and his fanatical followers (crazies) and supporters had planned their attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon before long before Bush, they had planned it during Clinton’s administration. How could anyone in their right mind believe this has anything to do with Bush. It could have easily been President Fruitcake (Gore). It still would have happened. People need to stop the political hysteria and -FOCUS- on our real enemies, not their political enemies. The ones that are going to kill your children, families, and friends simply because they are WESTERN in nationality and beliefs. A clever person going onto blogs and showing your ignorance is your right in a world with President Bush as the current US President, but it wouldn’t be under a Supreme Ruler “Imam bin Laden” or a Taliban. You wouldn’t even be allowed to use technology like the Internet much less voice your opinion, even if it is an ignorant one.

Actually, Nero, your rhetoric is very cliché. Your hollow point was so transparent I could have written the leftist diatribe before it even bled from your mouth.
Britain’s MI-5 intelligence service and Scotland Yard had been following the plot for months, while the U.S. provided valuable “chatter” that was intercepted paralleling the investigation. If you want to give the gold star to the British, then by all means, they deserve it. The point is you turned a very positive and objectively neutral story into a 2nd-grade level urinating contest. This is exactly why the leftist credibility tank is bordering on empty. You completely fail to comprehend those planes would have headed for us (Americans), not Republicans or Democrats.
I read the story and thanked God thousands of people were saved. You read it and tried to weave two degrees of separation between the 20+ terrorists and Tom DeLay. Unbelievable!

A neutron bomb attack now – would save many lives in the long run – on both sides. This is just a start – they give up the religion of war or it is to the wall and we use we the machine gun and bulldozer. I am tired of PC bull crap – lets do the job now!
Lets fight a real war! No, to racial profiling, Yes, to Religion Inclusive Participation. Have you noticed that all these terrorists are males of military age who all follow the same religion? These participants in terrorism are not the old or the middle aged, not children under 15 and most certainly not female. We need to start a Religion Inclusive Participation (RIP) program today and help these young men travel to their promised destination.

Whats wrong with this picture? They’re all muslims. START RACIAL PROFILING NOW! We need to think about ourselves (meaning us Americans) rather than making everyone else feel good. And if you’re a “good” muslim or middle easterner that feels like you are being persecuted, too bad. You have your own kind to thank for that. We need to stop wasting our time checking good Americans and grandmas and the like, and concentrate on these savages. I don’t think George W. Bush is doing enough to protect us. He spends too much money on Iraq and other countries most of us will never see. Howabout spending more money on us for a change?!? Bring the troops home to really protect us, and don’t let any more of these savages into our country. If they wanna kill us, don’t let them in, and they ruined it for all immigrants. It is a privlige to live here in our freedom, a right I earned by being born here and having my grandparents come here and adapt to this culture and make something of themselves. Yes to all Bush-apologists.
It is true that Osama was active during the Clinton Administration. But I also seem to remember that the GOP congress blocked the Clinton effort to go after him.
The Bush “cut and run” policy in Afganistan has not helped the war on terror. That is an absolute fact.

Then I wake up this morning to the events in the UK, and I thank God George Bush is President and the Democrats are the minority party. By the way, I am not a Republican.

That’s a good point Keith, but in fact the Beirut bombing was not even close to the beginning…go back to the Munich Olympics and the murder of the Israeli Olympic team by who??? That’s right, Arab extremists.
I have heard all the rhetoric of the Lori’s in America for years and ultimately it fails because they refuse to accept that there are people in the world who have no interest in holding hands and singing kumbaya…they want to kill us. Period. I don’t know and I don’t care whether it’s because they hate our values, hate our “freedom”, or hate the fact that we support Israel. It doesn’t matter why, it just matters THAT they want to kill us. At that point all the analysis stops and we defend ourselves. We defend ourselves by ruthlessly, relentlessly, righteously tracking down every known entity that has declared the desire to kill us and beating them to it.
When the fight is beat out of them then we can come back to the table and talk about who is gonna hold who’s hand and how we can make everybody feel warm and fuzzy.
I have spent plenty of time playing the “what if” game and wishing we could all “just get along”, but it ain’t gonna happen. So take your little “I Hate George” signs and “We Never Really Landed On The Moon” theories over to the corner and sit quietly Lori while we blow these enemies away and make the world safe for you again.

The war in Iraq has only served to recruit more terrorists and kill our soldiers needlessly. Bush’s policies are getting us nowhere in the war on terror. Those are the facts. Use your time to look them up instead of repeating the lies our administration continues to spout. Wake up people!

First of all, “colls” asks why everyone is attacking Lori, and then unwittingly answers the question. In America one has the right to speak in all arrogance in complete ignorance. One also has the right, and duty, to point out the foolish and ill-considered nature if such ignorance.
For those who think that a change of USA’s foreigh policy (in other words, appeasement) would change the focus and direction of militant islam, think of WWII. Had the world listened and followed Churchill, the focus and direction of Hitler would have been halted long before the suffering and deaths of millions of people. Instead, France tried appeasement.
In this world there are evil people. They are intent on evil purposes, and no amount of negotiation and appeasement will alter their direction, thought, and purpose. At the most, it delays the inevitable.

Secular leftists will never understand the necessity of this war on terror until they recognize the depth of theological commitment of the radical muslim fundamentalists to eradicate the infidels. Moreover, they need to understand that western liberalism is no more attractive to the terrorists organizations. We, both liberals and conservatives, are in the scope of the enemy. We must fight to win this war or kiss the free civilization that we enjoy goodbye.

Maybe Democrats can throttle back on their over concern for the “rights” of terrorists held at Gitmo and other locations, and wake up to the fact that if released from our custody, they will gladly go back to trying to kill us with suicide attacks.

I know it’s convenient to blame the Bush administration for the current round of terrorism, but we can’t forget that the world has been dealing with terrorism since the 1970s. While we sat back and tried to treat each incident as a criminal case, our enemy treated each incident as a military operation. And during this time, our enemy has increased their military effectiveness.
I’ve also noted a number of comments about the U.S. being less safe today than it was before the War on Terror. If this were actually true, I doubt today’s plot would have been discovered. Today’s plot was discovered because of the measures that our government, along with our allies have established since the War on Terror began. I would much rather be on the offensive like we are today rather than on the defensive like some would suggest.
Just a quick note to our ACLU & NY Times friends. I haven’t noticed any differences in my freedoms and civil liberties since the War on Terror started. I ask you to put aside your political ideology for a moment and ask yourselves if you’ve really noticed any changes either?

For a long time, I just thought the Bush haters were taking their outrageous positions just so the Democrats (Socialists) could get their power back. After seeing these postings, they actually seem to believe this stuff. We’ve seen what has happened in the Middle East when generations are fed lies from government sponsored media as well as in their education system and mosques to achieve their religous and political ends. Those people can’t think objectively for themselves and believe whatever they are told. Too bad it seems like that’s what is happening in this country. Only we are teaching people to look to government to solve all of their problems and to blame all of their problems on whoever is convenient or what fits the template. Sad commentary on what our educational system and media is putting out these days…..

I am totally heartened by the number of messages in response to this story that are in support of what our government and the other sane governments in the world are doing to combat this cancerous ‘religous’ movement.
I am glad that Lori’s post was near the top so that it did not get buried among all of the responsible replies. It totally amazes me at the naivete of these left wing ‘freedom’ types. Election fraud. Ha! The only non-fraudulent election is one where an unopposed candidate in a Gerrymandered district wins in a landslide. Look at Mexico’s sore loser taking a page from USA’s gore (excuse me…) sore loser. Cynthia McKinney got beaten by a Democrat black man. How pathetic is it for her to claim voter fraud? (maybe he is a black jew ;-)
I am so glad that the analysts at NSA (yes, there are people working inside that big building) were awake to hear the chatter from these killers while the ‘civil libertarians’ were asleep after a hard day fretting about the erosion of our liberties. Can you imagine how rewarding is must be to have been on the team that cracked this case and not even be able to tell your wife and kids about your day at work?

It’s clear that racial profiling is absolutely necessary. There are plenty of Middle Eastern airlines for these people to use. The rest of the world – Americans, Euros, Indians and Chinese can fly on the other airlines.

Not appeasement; strategic thinking (which the Bush administration has absoulutely zilch of).

If those of you who have taken shots at Lori Price had read even one percent of what she has read since Bush stole the first election, you would not be blind to the truth today.
I would venture that most of you get your news from television or the New York Lying Times. That explains why you all sound so much alike and can so readily deny the evidence that is all around you.
Lori Price delivers the evidence on a silver platter every day, so don’t blame her if you are still oblivious. Just read it for yourself. And if you don’t trust what you are reading, pick up the telephone and talk to the source.
The Bush administration is a criminal organization that belongs in prison for crimes against humanity . . . until the hangings can be carried out.
US foreign policy has done enormous damage–by design. That’s not an opinion. It’s reference material. Look it up.

Do you think going to Iraq has made us safer or supporting Israel openly has made us safer? No we have probably left so many young muslims vulnerable to Al-Qaeda’s message. They claim that US is against Islam and muslims so muslims should oppose them. Now you guys tell me What will a young muslim will think based on our polocies? Bush is the worst person to handle this mess?

Hey, how about this? We drop one Neutron Bomb in the least populated areas of Syria and Iran. After all the liberal and U.N. screaming and shouting dies down, the President comes to the podium, taking no questions, and simply says, you’ve got 90 days to clean up your act, or we’ll clean it up for you. The beauty of this is that all the rest of the world will be able to do is threaten, because if they want to eat, what other choice do they have. If the idiots in Iran and Syria don’t get the message, then turn their countries into parking lots. Japan got the message in WWII, it’s time to send another message. If someone walks up to you and asks if you want to fight, don’t stand there and argue, hit them as had and as fast as you can. We’ve been asked, and talking about it hasn’t worked. Let’s use all those weapons we’ve spent so much money on, hell, the replacement costs alone will keep our economy running strong for another 50 years.
If we follow the libs, the philosopher will be right when he said,” this is the way the world ends, not with a bang, but a whimper.

Thank God that there are intelligent people at the wheel. If the New York Times and their ilk had their way, we’d all be dead by now – but at least our rights would not have been infringed upon. It’s time the world woke up to the fact that Islamist fascists want us dead. These are not people you can negotiate with. I wonder if Mike Wallace had the guts during his interview with Ahmadinejad, the Iranian President, to show him a map of the middle east with Israel occupying about 2% of the land and ask the question, “why can’t you just let the Israeli’s live in peace. I doubt he did. The moral universe has been inverted.

Am I the only one that remembers that we (the USA) gave bin Laden weapons to fight Russia in Afghanistan? Am I the only one that remembers that we (the USA) gave Hussein the weapons to kill his own people and attack Iran? Am I the only one that remembers that We have meddled in the world’s affairs pushing democracy with our own religious zealots at the helm of ‘the good ship freedom and the American way’? Now go ahead and call me a traitor but let me remind you that it was a traitor in another war that said ‘those who give up freedoms for security deserve neither’ – good old Ben Franklin – and yes, he was a traitor to jolly old England at the time. Get your heads out of your butts and look at history for a moment (not your bible – real history). The greeks fell for reaching too far. The romans fell for reaching too far. So did germany, japan and italy. So did we in vietnam. And Korea (if you would have gotten it right there would be no korean crisis now). We are falling in Iraq, now spread too thin and not getting it done in Afghanistan. Our borders are issues, we are wanting it to be legal to spy on our own countrymen without judicial approval. Do you understand why there is a balance of powers in the three branches of government? THEY ARE WINNING BECAUSE WE ARE BEATING EACH OTHER UP. Because we can’t fly anymore. Gas costs are outrageous. World opinion should matter to us – if we are the leader of the world. What do you think we should do – bomb every islamic country?
If the people of our country mandate the end to our troop deployment in Iraq then do it. Don’t lie to me about weapons of mass destruction, don’t try to scare me, don’t give me that get out crap either. Or don’t you think that this is a country of the people, for the people and by the people?

It’s about all of us, all Americans, sticking together to defeat an enemy that hates every last single one of us. Don’t you get it? A jihad has been declared on America and they’re out to kill as many of us as possible. They don’t care what your political beliefs are. It doesn’t matter if we renounced Israel, withdrew from Iraq, and started dropping honey and milk all over the middle east, they’re not going to end their jihad. They hate us! They hate us for our freedom, they hate us for our wealth, our tolerance, our technology, our love for life. We are the enemy simply for having it better than them.

I am glad that it is safe here in the US. It is important to realize that all that matters is that we have a robust debate before the next election so that we can vote people who are sophisticated and nuanced into office again. So that the world will once again be able to work with us and we can all solve these little problems with diplomacy and a genteel party at the Kennedy Center.
Don’t you people realize that we can all get along? We just need to talk to eachother and not have that stupid Texan leaning on the podium mispronouncing “Nuclear.” Don’t you understand?
Sadly, it seems that some people like Lori are lost in the shouting so that they are not understood once again.
Thank you God. Please make the shouting a little louder. So that Lori will go back to her Latte with her friends to laugh and chukle that come the next election they will have the say again. They will be happy there and people who have to make difficult decisions that mean life and death for their own friends as well as innocent people all over the world will have one less distraction to deal with.

Hey FaulknA, I guess since Germany did not attack us at Pearl Harbor we should have just let Hitler take over the world.
I know that you will not hear this from the liberal news, but Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was in Afghanistan when we attacked them. We wounded him there and he fled to Iraq. Bush simply went after the terrorist were ever they are hiding.
Bush never said that Iraq planned 9/11 or had anything directly to do with it. He did say that countries that harbored and supported terrorists would be a target. Saddam was paying $25,000 to each suicide bombers family for blowing up innocent women and children in Israel. You need to wake up and understand that we are in a global war on terror. To try and only keep the focus on al Qaeda is simply the Liberal Democrats way of avoiding the truth. That we are at war and we must win at all cost.
As JFK said in his inaugural address,
“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
This much we pledge—and more.
It would pay you to listen to some of the former great Democratic leaders, instead of these treasonous nitwits we have today. They were Americans first and Democrats second.
I can always tell a Bush hating lib. Instead of asking what happened to the Iraq WMDs, you say that Bush lied, and that there never were any WMDs. Well if Bush lied so did Bill and Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and most of the other Dems. Please, before you spew your ignorance, at least go back and read some history. You would only have to go back to about 1998 to understand that the Clinton administration foreign policy towards Iraq was all about regime change, that means he wanted to overthrow Saddam. Clinton himself bomb Iraq to try and take out a WMD factory, which you claim Saddam never had. Us who support Bush are awake, you need to get off drugs or what ever you are smoking and learn a few facts.
Mark Yannone, have you ever read the New York times? You sound like you work for them. The times is a liberal Democratic mouth piece and a Bush Hater. Please read a News Paper before you comment about it.
Fuad listening to your advice is like Nevil Chamberlain believing Hitler would not attack Britain.

At some point, I would hope that the WHOLE WORLD would recognize that we are at war with an ideology, based on a distorted and twisted version on a religion.
The closest thing we have to a “real” nation to fight with is IRAN, because as a nation, they export this twisted form of Islam, and do so with the power and resources of a legitimate state.
I`m old enough to remember the hostages is Iran, and the fact that Jimmy Carter opened this Pandoras box for the western world. Yes friend`s, a LIBERAL American president tried appeasment, and we are now living with the result.
I don`t think wholesale “nuking of countries is the answer, but a couple hundred cruise missiles, carefully aimed at the Mullah`s who preach death and hate, would be appropriate, and a good start at calming things down. Let those who preach myrterdom be the first to enjoy it. This is the head of the snake which must be removed.

I see the liberals are already running circles around each other trying to decide which side of the terror fence they’re going to sit on now. Half of them are already arguing that there really isn’t a terrorist threat and this is all just fear mongering for the upcoming election in November and the other half, not knowing what that half is doing, are arguing that we could have used the $300 million that Iraq cost us to protect our citizens from the terrorist threat that doesn’t really exist. What a dilemma those poor anti-Bush liberals have now, no platform, no solutions, just more of the same whining.

I am a foreign-born American. I never had a better life since becoming an American. I love this country and will do everything I can to help protect her. I can understand the emotions from all sides of this post, given the gravity of the situation we are in. It does not matter who is president or who the next one will be. Our freedom is a gift from our homeland and if its come down to this game of Democracy vs Islamofascism then so be it. Unleash the power of free America. After we eliminate these naive martyrdom pests from wherever they’re hiding, the survivors can only wish to be on our side. All of us are now targets of the “kill or die a martyr” lunatics, therefore we are all but one regardless of opinion. Let’s fight for the American way of life and resist every terror attempt, every day, to our very last breath. Support our government for they are our “driver” — and all of us “passengers” of this big life-loving “bus” must get home safely. May God protect our soldiers, our real heroes fighting all over the globe for this very right we are exercising in these posts. I have several relatives in the army fighting insurgents in Iraq as I write… Not one of them, like me, are “smart” enough to call themselves Republicans or Democrats… just Americans serving proudly.

It amazes me that after 6 years of George Bush’s failed domestic and foriegn policies that there are still people that will defend him. George Bush is the real terrorist. Granted there are alot of bad people in this world hell bent on destroying America, but Bush’s policies simply give them more ammunition and incentive to continue to focus on the destruction of the U.S. What Bush and his cronies fail to realize is that you will NEVER wipe out all the “crazies”. It will never happen. Presidents for years and years to come will be faced with dealing with the problems that Bush has created. There is no doubt in my mind that this will go down as the absolute worst presidency in the history of our great country. 2008 can’t come quick enough!

Why wasn’t there an equivalent uproar when we quashed the original plot in 1998? Maybe because we had an administration that outsmarted the terrorists, quashed the plot and let us all go on living normal lives instead of thriving on the political spin of it? And by the way, when are we going to find Osama…we’ve pretty much looked everywhere in Iraq and he doesn’t seem to be there.

Posted by: Kitty | August 11, 2006, 2:52 am 2:52 am

Hello,
I am a Pakistani student currently residing in Pakistan. The news of this alleged plot is very troubling and has compelled me to right on this forum and present my point of view. I have following comments/observations on this matter
- I don’t know whether this blog represents a wider held view in US and other western countries but I do get the impression that these people don’t see us in good light as many here have suggested nuking Muslims, banning their entry into certain countries, separate airlines for them etc. etc. There is also a section which advocates racial profiling and other such measures. My conclusion from this and from reading other such sites is that right now Muslims are not seen in good light by others.
- More important for me, is the fact that who should be blamed for their attitude. I can’t be categorical here as, in my opinion, blame lies on both sides.
Muslim Role
- Muslims should sit down and take a look at themselves before complaining to others about their behaviors. We complain of racial profiling in Britain and US but why is there a need to go to US/UK? Why can’t you stay in your own countries and improve it first. I have seen people who don’t show any civic sense while they are here in Pakistan but then gloat about the disciplined societies of US and Europe. A vast majority of us are uneducated (hence susceptible to terrorism) and on top of that we are ruled by feudals and monarchs. When we are abroad, we don’t like to assimilate with others and think of us as some sort of superior race that can’t follow other cultures. We should accept the fact that, right now, Muslims are involved in majority of the terrorism or terrorist plots. It is a fact! Just admit it and find solution to that problem. Don’t blame it on conspiracies etc. If you are a victim of aggression and injustices then solution is not terrorism but solution is to make your case in short term and in long term, improve your self so that other people can’t commit injustices against you.
- Lets take example of Pakistan. I am sure that illiteracy rate and un-employment rate in this could country would be highest among all the countries. We have a feudal system where few rule and rest follow. Un-educated people, to get respectability, have become Ulemas and religious scholars (if you don’t want to study and still get respect then become a religious scholar). These are the people who then go on and issue Fatwa’s on behalf of all Muslims. Leaders of many extremist outfits are basically illiterate who misguide poor and illiterate and brainwash them for their agendas.
- There is a section among Sunnis who think that whole world except themselves is infidel. They hate Christians, Jews, Hindus, Shias and many sects of Sunnis. Religious scholars (otherwise illiterate) have created their own interpretation of Quran and misused it. In Iraq and even here in Pakistan, Sunnis are killing Shias and vice versa.
- The majority has to take this issue seriously as this minority is ruining our image and giving others a false impression of our religion and ourselves. We have to deal it proactively and can’t sit idle on this issue. Such kinds of terrorism or violence against innocent people should not be condoned by any Muslim no matter how grieved they are from injustices done against themselves or their religion.
American/Western Role
- I noticed some very extreme and harsh comments from some people here on this forum. It almost looked to me that if these people were given the chance or were put in more adverse conditions then they would be no better than the terrorist. As of today, there is no doubt in my mind that westerners and other people like Chinese are way ahead of Muslims in term of education, development etc. There was a time when Muslims were ahead of others but nowadays others have moved way ahead of us. Unfortunately, I get this impression of dual standards from such big powers. Let me give you a very clear example. We are told to make our country democratic where all people are equal and have a vote and where there is freedom to choose and that freedom is respected by all. On the other hand we have a United Nations system where 150 countries are one side and 1 country just vetoes them. Is United Nations democratic? In some cases United Nation’s word is used to wage war while in other situations it cannot even condemn a country for its faults. Powerful ignore UN while powerless are pressured using UN.
- Let’s get one thing clear. If you are going to support and condone killing of others then there will always be some sort of reaction. Some societies may be more developed than the others but that doesn’t make their people more important then the others. 3000 odd died in 9/11 while 30000 or more have died in Iraq. The grief of a person who loses a relative would be same whether it is in New York, Baghdad, Kabul or Qana.
- The point that I am trying to make is that just take a deep look at you as well. It almost looks to me that you don’t want to hear the truth or want to hide from it. How can a civilized society wage a war where thousands die and then later it is found that intelligence was wrong. Many here on this forum have advocated nuking other countries on hearing the news of a failed plot. What would be the feeling of those parents whose children were sleeping in a building and all of a sudden a “Guided Missile” struck and they lost their children.
- Think about what I just said. Exercise responsibility and leadership. Don’t make decisions on behalf of others.
Anyway, I just wanted to give my view. I hope that few would agree with my assessment. We all have to be cautious in expressing our views and careful about not offending the others. Whatever knowledge I have about Islam, makes me think that Islam is indeed the religion of peace (like all other religions are) but we Muslims have to make sure that it is seen in that way by others. There will always be few who will be against one and other and I am not bothered about them. I just don’t want that group of people to go out of limits.
Thanks

“It is important to realize that all that matters is that we have a robust debate before the next election so that we can vote people who are sophisticated and nuanced into office again. So that the world will once again be able to work with us and we can all solve these little problems with diplomacy and a genteel party at the Kennedy Center.”
Funniest post of the day!
Pssst….We had that in 2004…and your “sophisticated” and “nuanced” candidate lost.

Nero writes: It was the British and Pakistani security forces that unfoiled the plot, NOT our Dept of Homeland Security >>
Incorrect. The NSA played a MAJOR part in bringing down this plot. Sorry to say it to you in the anti-all war, hate-Bush crowd, but almost everything opposed in The Patriot Act was responsible for the intel gathered on this plot. The massive cooperation between the NAS and MI5 was the key. Not hiding your head in the sand hoping that if you ignore them, they’ll go away and leave us alone strategy of the anti-all war crowd. Proactive actions, not reactive.

Wake up everyone, this is liberal vs. conservative… republicrats are what we have now.
Neo-con’s: I voted for Bush twice and now see the light. 911 was an inside job. Which freedom will we have to lose now to fight ‘terrorism’ while our borders are wide open? And what is the dollar worth now? And where are all our jobs? There are 30 million surveillance cameras in this country now? But the borders are open. Bush should be impeached and this latest ‘terrorism’ is just another training exercise for US.

It’s terrible that most Amricans won’t return to clarity on the future of America and and that our enemies are not our leaders until they are the victims and the civilization of this great country is in ruins.
How would the present American population ever had come to unity of purpose to overcome the axis powers of World War II?

Hey aren’t we lucky these terrorists didn’t target planes coming out of Paris. To think, France being sypathetic, thereby making it easier for bombers to board. Fortune shines on us, being so close to Briton and with such a strong working relationship that Bush and Blair have. And isn’t fortuitous for them, to have it happen now, when their approval ratings are tanking. This should be a good boost. We should have no fear now, we’ll soon have a bank of video cameras on every corner, and all of our telephone calls monitored. Oh and take away that internet, it is the devil.

It’s hard to tell from the names, but I wonder if there is any chance that the named suspects may belong to the “religion of peace.” This is not to group all Muslims together, but to point out that maybe we could better use resources to limit searches to Muslims and terrorist sympathizers (i.e. the staff of the New York Times) rather than taking Aunt Gertie’s Starbucks coffee from her. It is certainly troubling, but fully understandable that the U.K. decided not to run this information through the C.I.A. pipeline to the paper of record. Kudos to U.K. security.

The absurdity of the Dems and Republicans dispute on who is tough on terrorism is best exposed by the fact that neither side wants to REALLY shut down the borders and protect the ports.

People like Lori R. Price need to wake up. As most of us walk around in the morning with our blinders on, people of the Radical Mouslim faith sit and plot. Yes thats right, they think of ways to KILL your children, you and your way of life.
I have faith that the next event will trigger another awakening. One that will get people angry not scared. You will see a new group arise from this. A group of Westerners that take things into their own hands. The government is doing all they can beside eliminating that whole region from the face of the earth. If you ask me though, just like any pest you dont wipe them out until you exterminate them.

First let me state that i am an egyptian muslim living in the US for the past 5 years. Moved here right after sept 11th and i have more positive things to say than negative about how people here treated me.I believe that the US foreign policy does have a bad rep in most of the muslim world and generates hatred but the terrorist activity within islam is not a by product of that.It is a serious mutation in how islam is being taught and understood by a growing sector of the muslim population and needs to be addressed by muslims world wide.

For those who invoke the name of Benjamin Franklin while questioning the government’s actions, I must point out that Mr. Franklin supported the fight against the (at that time) enemy. He did not propose dying BECAUSE of liberty; he spoke of dying FOR liberty.
Count me as one of the nuts who support the war on terror. I’m glad our governments have had the nerve to do what is right instead of what is popular. I only wish governments had done so in 1935. Thirty million people died because they didn’t. I hope we avoid that mistake.

It says alot about the moral compass of our country when an out of touch and uneducated portion of our population aided by the drive by media justify the existence of islamo-facist groups like this. It is clear that the ‘primetime’ minority will never get it. It is time to go directly to the source of this modern day naziism. People ponder if world war III has started or if we are getting close to it. I tend to think this is a continuation of world war II. (For those of you that don’t know your history, look up the links between the leaders of nazi germany and the mentors of todays middle east dictators.)

Word is that the suspects arrested were British Muslims, several of Pakistani decent. So do we start bombing London and Islamabad now? If this proves to be real, kudos to the Brits for fighting terrorism with solid police work instead of bombing civilians. The color codes are back and no tooth paste for you! We haven’t seen the color codes for a while…it’s probably just a coincidence though that that we’re 3 months away from election day. FLASHBACK: Terror alerts used as a campaign tool in 2004. Former DHS chief, Tom Ridge, says “Don’t blame me.” Bush, taking all of this VERY seriously, immediately boarded Air Force One and rushed directly to Wash – I mean — Wisconsin for a GOP fundraiser. Man… Between photo ops and gathering checks from rich, fat white guys, Bush squeezes in a few words on the matter. I hope we’re not cutting into his vacation/ho’ing for dollars too much…that brush doesn’t clear itself and smear ads cost big money

Many posters here present themselves as proud chest-thumping “patriots,” cheering raucously for Bush, denouncing liberals & the NY Times, and echoing the “Love it or Leave it” attitude of the Vietnam era. These people openly subscribe to certain classic Bushisms, chiefly “They hate us for our freedoms,” and “If you’re not with us, you’re against us.” They gloat about Guantanamo (& thus torture), and revel in US militarism generally.
These attitudes reveal more about the mentality of Bush supporters than these posters intend. In Bush World, anyone opposing the US or Israel is automatically a “terrorist” (or “terrorist enabler”). This position holds water only if one assumes that America can always automatically be considered virtuous.
But in & of itself, “America” is just a lump of real estate, neither intrinsically virtuous nor lacking virtue. The only thing that might actually make it virtuous is if, as a society, it really practiced the high principles set forth in the Bill of Rights.
Yet the aggression and torture so enthusiastically enjoyed by the Bush supporters, and the cheering for the government spying programs — and in fact Bush himself, who only reached office because of electoral fraud — all this is antithetical to the lofty principles of the founding documents. By cheering for torture, for electoral fraud, for government spying, and for unjust US military aggression, Bush supporters prove that what they “support” about America has nothing to do with justice or the Bill of Rights.
And without the Bill of Rights, “America” is just a predator-state with an oversized army, and a disturbing pattern of bullying other countries, overthrowing their governments, or invading them outright & installing stooge regimes. Thus, what Bush supporters “love” about America — to the point where they feel entitled to tell people who dislike Bush to “get out of their country” — are precisely those tendencies which make America not virtuous, but merely an increasingly delusional, dangerous & militaristic society, unable to solve its own domestic problems, & overly occupied with trying to control the oil regions of the world by force.

There will never be any stop to this. Uk have a pretty good system for preventing terrorist, they’ve been working on it for years with Ireland. They were fairly lucky the fist attack they had as many of the bombs didn’t go off, this was going to be a big one. I think they probably had a lot of inside information. Unfortunately I don’t think these terrorist are ever going to stop, and they cant be prevented for ever.

Great article in Time mag which outlines how we are LESS SAFE under the Bush Administration. This WH crowd continues to disregard hundreds of years of history and makes the same mistakes Britain and France did in occupying other nations. This can only lead to ill will towards the United States. Come on, fools, we need a regime change in November. A Democratic House so that we can open up Bush and Cheney’s document files and take the appropriate action if National Security was compromised. Right, right?

Mark Yannone,
You are very confused. When you say that Bush “He’s an incurable idiot who has become a criminal and the enemy of the world.”, you are sounding just like the New York Times. Either you the NYT and you agree or they are liars like you say.
Here is the truth, you are both liars.

Posted by: tom | August 11, 2006, 1:01 pm 1:01 pm

“There is no evidence that Saddam Hussein had anything to do with September 11th,” said the illiterate George Bush on September 17, 2003.
“Bury that on page 22,” said the New York Lying Times. America doesn’t need to know that.
For another 30 tons of BS from the New York Times try a search for: “new york times” lies.
You see, the public’s misguided opinion isn’t formed just by what appeared in today’s paper or yesterday’s paper. The defective, criminal output of the New York Times goes back for decades. They wrote it, and you bought it–to your own detriment.
They continue to lie, so you have to get your news from multiple sources and I don’t mean different newspapers owned by the same company or fed by the the same news gathering organization.
Television “news” suffers from the same disease. It’s merely an echo of the same fishwrap lies. It’s garbage. It led 59 million Americans to vote for a criminal idiot twice so that he and his PNAC buddies could destroy this nation.

Those of you who are calling for Democrats to replace Republicans in November as a solution to the current criminal class in Congress need to peel off your blinders so you can see more than 21 days of history.
Twelve years ago, Americans were so fed up with Democrats they fired them and replaced them with Republicans. Did that make sense?
The firing made sense, but the hiring was as fatal a mistake as they could have made. American citizens went to the polls and elected people who told them in advance that they intended to break the law–just as Democrats are telling voters today. They too intend to violate the US Constitution and they will admit it to your face with a great, big smile.
Why would they do that?
Because you want them to.

I went to the NY Times “Post a Comment” list yesterday and my hair is now curlier. I was astonished to see that a clear majority of the 600 or so comments opined that:
1. News of this terror plot was “overblown.”
2. The plot was cooked up by Bush/Blair to get their poll numbers up.
3. The bomb plot story was linked to the Lieberman/Lamont election
I don’t know what is more frightening: Murdering, home-grown, Jihadis who would target thousands of innocent men women and children…or people who think that Scotland Yard would trump up a phoney terror plot to help Joe Lieberman win an election.
Cue the Twilight Zone music.

Governments over history have used faked events, false flag operations and deception by way of intelligence agencies to influence public policy, instill fear in the ignorant masses and start wars. The need for a new enemy after the cold war policy? Remember who controls all the information in the investigation under the power of “national security”. Remember that Bush refused a 911 investigation until the brave widows forced it. This recent farsical event will never be fully disclosed to us or the press and as these “alleged” plotters are in custody under new terrorist laws, they have no rights. Google or Ask.com “The Power of Nightmares” a BBC documentary on state sponsored terrorism and deception by intel/military governments, both democracy and not. More so by democracies I’d wager.

Okay. Let us go back a few years. Put down the joint and think for a minute. Okay, ready? Where were you when the planes hit the WTC? And the Pentagon? What about when you heard that a plane went down in a PA field? Remember? Were you scared? Did you want revenge? Did you want to know why?
This is why. The men and women and children who are living under the belief that the Koran is telling them to kill us, are not sane. Until they fear death as much as we love life, we will never be safe. There are no conspiracies, we are at war with people who use their children and old people as shields. THey shoot at our Marines and our Allies standing in the bedroom of a 10 year old girl. Then cry, MURDER! Grow up people. We are under attack, and until we stand together once again as a nation, they will use our weaknesses against us, to kill us. If you think you are safe, because you are in America? NOT ANY MORE.

I am of Irish decent and born and raised American. My 3 brothers, father and Grandfather all fought in different wars to protect OUR freedom. So you morons could say the stupid things you say, without going to jail or being killed. My Grandfather fought in 3 wars. On his cross in the National Cemetary in Southern California, it says he was a “HERO, LIVED AND DIED FOR HIS COUNTRY, WWI, WWII AND KOREA”. He, my father and brothers were at least able to see who they were fighting, and understand somewhat why they were there. Our Military men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan do not know if the old woman walking down the street is a HOMICIDE Bomber, or the school kids walking down the road. This isn’t about blue state or red state, you pathetic idiots. It’s about freedom, for your children and grandchildren to come. It’s about life as we know it. We were taught to be patriotic when I was in school, we proudly placed our hand over our hearts and said the PLEDGE OF ALLEGENCE. We did not worry about GOD being referenced and we sang AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL ever Friday morning. That’s the America I was raised in. In California. I know this one thing is true. Until the Islamic facist murderers begin to fear death as much as we love life, we will continue to fight this war. Long after Bush is gone. It’s funny how some of you can say with a straight face that this is all Bush’s fault. This is no ones fault but the terrorists who love to kill their young and call them marders (sp) as much we love to watch our young run around a baseball field.
When the Islamic Terrorists start to fear death, then and only then will we be safe. How do you fight an enemy who is happy to sacrfice thier children? Proud of their nephews for blowing up an ice cream parlor filled with kids on thier way home from school?
You people who want to blame Bush, have not a clue. It’s time to put away the weed and clear your heads, start facing life one day at a time. But face it realistically! We are at war, because the Islamic Facist Terrorists want to Kill anyone who does not believe as they do. That is you my friend, and your family. So stop with the protests and conspiracy bull crap. This is real. Go back a few years ago, and remember the fear and anger and then love of country we all had and shared on September 11, 2001. That is the only way we can truly live in peace.

Oh for god’s sake! If any one of you idiots were to do some actual research, instead of falling hook, line and sinker for every propaganda-ist broadcast that comes from the bought and paid for MSM, you would know about the Hegelian Dialectic, the criminal and diabolical actions of the CIA, FBI, NSA, DHS and all the rest of their Alphabet Orgs!!! The CIA has funded and supplied aid for and ARMED both sides of every conflict for decades!! Check out Bandar Bin Laden “Bush”, for instance!
Before they were named the CIA during the 1947 creation of the National Security Act, signed by one Harry S. Truman, they went by other names, or no name at all!
It is all of you, the sheep, who are allowing this campaign of false terror to flourish!!
If the Islamic and Arabic countries hate us, I can assure you it is NOT because of our “freedoms” it is because the USA has been supporting war-and fomenting war-for many, many years! Included in this, is, of course, the International Banking Cartels and the MIC. Oh the joys of ignorance. I, too, once believed that we were the “innocent ones” and the rest of the world was bad bad bad. And we are ALL complicit in the terrorist acts occuring around the World by our ignorance and APATHY!! It is so much easier to get up on your high horse and call the kettle black, isn’t it?
The “terrorists” are real. Make no mistake, but they exist in America, too, just as much as all of those horrible countries where women and children are being slaughtered in the name of some sicko-religous beliefs that one race of people is better then another!
Understand this, sheep, the USofA is just as culpable in the Terror going on around the World as is any Muslim and/or all the other “boogey-men” that have been created by the Media and the Propaganda Machine. Oh, and BTW, I am much more “Conservative” than “Liberal!”
But, alas, one can never force those who choose to remain ignorant to see the truth. And before all of you reactionary, pseudo-partiots entreat me to “leave the country if I think it is so bad” remember this, also: “Those who would give up their freedom for safety and security deserve neither freedom nor security!” Benjamin Franklin. Who, while making great contributions to the World and helping to form our Country, was still working both sides of the fense! And hedging his bets. They ALL are, you sheep!! Those in positions of power must ever jockey for position to MAINTAIN those powers!
WHEN WILL YOU WAKE UP??

When are you people going to pull your heads out of the sand? Everything going on in the Middle East right now has a lot less to do with Iraq and Afganistan and EVERYTHING to do with IRAN. Reapeat after me: IRAN, IRAN, IRAN, IRAN….that’s all you have to remember. We have established a foothold that is needed for one thing: IRAN!! We are to their west, we are to their north, we are to their south (ships/subs)…basically we surround them. For any future military action that WILL be needed, we are there where we need to be. We have all our forward bases established and ready to go. Unlike the traitorous democrats of this country who would like us to think we would be safer if we pulled all our troops out and brought them home…I have one word for them: WRONG! George Bush has put us right where we need to be for the next great conflict and we are positioned exactly where we need to be to defeat Iran when that becomes necessary. If we left this job to the weak and ineffective democrats in our government, one word come to my mind: disaster. Have no illusion. The last thing this country needs right now is a foreign policy and national security run by democrats.

Jewels, Even if you gave them a week to research the Hegelian Dialectic, most U.S, citizens still could not comprehend it’s meaning. Face it, most Americans are dumbells. This explains how a dumbell could become President of the United States. He was elected by a majority of dumbells. That is why our nation is doomed. These people have more important things to do than reading, studying and understanding the issues that directly affect their lives. They are too busy , watching the boob tube, playing video games, stuffing their fat faces and screwing anything that moves.

Does confiscating toothpaste from Federal Air Marshals make us safer?
Why were Air Marshals not deployed on every UK to US flight starting from the day the plot was discovered over a month ago?
Does England have a Constitution similar to ours that guarentees right of privacy?

I mean look at JOSE PADILLA in federal prison alledgedly for five years as the dirty bomber and never tried.. whats the scam with that. Recent news reports of the trial were bogus. There was no scheduled trial in miami or anywhere else according to Patrick Fitzgerald US attorneys office.
So whats the scam. And if their in Pakastan, they will be tortured and denied any justice what so ever. Not to be sympathetic to any terrorists, just the reality that anyone CAN BE SET UP.. and may be.. HUMAN RIGHTS WATCHDOG GROUPS should investigate these matters.
