Bono Meets the Candidates
ABC News’ Mark Halperin Reports: Many political reporters are frustrated sports writers and rock critics — which is why the most over-used and annoying political cliche of the season is to describe a hot candidate as "like a rock star." But it is a REAL rock star, Bono, who has dominated presidential politics for the last 48 hours.
Proving that he has more entrée than your typical Yankee, the U2 warbler is meeting with potential 44s all week. According to a reliable source, Bono has tête-à-têted privately already with 5 of the Big 6 (Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., and he is expected to meet with former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, R-N.Y., today), plus Sens. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb. In Ireland, that’s called influence.
Bono’s been making the rounds on behalf of DATA, and the ONE Campaign (www.one.org). He hopes to meet with other contenders, such as Sens. Dodd, D-CT, and Joe Biden, D-DE, in the future.

He should meet with Ron Paul (R-Tex)! That would make for an interesting discussion.
