When you add the Valerie Plame incident it becomes very clear pertaining to motives. The smear campaign that ensued created the perfect distraction from the real agenda.

"Curveball" is like the recklessly speeding driver that we (ie., the Bush Administration) should have known was coming up on us, because "we" had heard CB band radio reports that he was on his way.
The point is, the speeding driver (ie., WMD liar) was grossly negligent, regardless of radio warnings to be on the lookout for him.
Seeing us vent all our rage at the U.S. Bush Administration must have potential future "Curveballs"---perhaps Iranian, or even Pakistani ones---laughing up their very long sleeves as they plot their own nefarious lies!
It's way past due time---but never too late---to call on the Germans to stop protecting this guy and put him on some sort of "this is what happens to liars of importance" trial, somewhere in the public eye, asap!

Curveball was just one piece of the Administrations gambling for glory that was based on lies, ignorance, and arrogance. What really happened was the Neocons, e.g. Wolfowitz, Cheney, etc wanted to do this invasion back in 1991 after the first gulf war. Bush Sr. said no, "we would be an American Christian Army invading a Muslim nation, it would be a disaster". This plan to remake the middle east in one fell swoop (which assumed that religious hatreds a thousand years old would suddenly disappear) lay in the bottom drawer with Clinton, but with Bush, the neo-cons got this non-thinking idiot president, imbued with his own mad religious sense that he was some sort of prophet. He was suckered into the Iraq war by these neo-cons. Mix in the Cronyism of the Bush administration, where right wing loyalty rather then deep thinking prevailed, and you got his Buddy Bremer who totally screwed up the opportunity, if there actually was any, to gain police and political control of Iraq with a legitimate Iraqi government after knocking over the Iraqi Army. So that is a large part of how we got into the catastrophe Bush gave us, with the unnecessary murder of 3360 of our finest, and 25000 wounded seriously, many of whom will suffer for life.
And Bush continues to try and talk about victory, while the world has lost faith in America just when we need the whole world to join in the war on religious terrorism. Why have they deserted us? _ because they can see what Bush has done, he is our worst catastrophe in the White house in a century or more.
Note that Blair is quiting before the ghosts of Iraq totally come back to haunt his party, and the British troops, about 7000 strong in Iraq at the beginning of the year, are due to be cut in half this year.
There is only one solution for America - the removal of Bush and his gang of criminals, and our telling the Republicans in Congress that their only hope to survive as a viable party is to desert GWB, and develop a plan to contain the madness and bloodletting that will most likely occur when we pull back. As for the Iraqis taking over security duties, notice how little we've heard - where are they?

Clearly, this goes back to the American public electing (and then re-electing) an "unstable, immature and unreliable" President.

There is no evidence whatsoever that 'Curveball' lied. Where do you get off reporting that Curveball in fact had lied?? Saddam had more tha 500 scientists in his employ. Here's where you get to ask yourself.. 'why?'
And has 'anyone' asked what Curveball had to gain by lying? He was ALREADY out of Iraq. He didn't have to lie about anything to gain freedom. He was ALREADY free.
And to this day know one knows for sure whether or not Saddam destroyed ALL his WMD's before we invaded. There is no credible witness that says he did. Not even the UN. Given his evasions and defiance of the UN, do you really think a character like Saddam got rid of everything...on his own? DUH??
Leftist media = Saddam's Public Relations Committee.
HELP! I'm stuck in the 60's
and can't grow up!!
'From a mile away.

All government official have an obligation to resign and tell the truth to the press when they realize themselves in such a situation.
The US is the hope of the world and Bush and his cronies have jepordized our future.
