Attack in Afghanistan Targets Governor Who Put Taliban Body On Display

A suicide attack today in Afghanistan killed at least three people, but the suspected target of the attack, the governor of Kandahar, survived. The attack took place just a few hours ago in the city of Kandahar. The director of culture and youth of Kandahar was among the at least nine people who were injured in the attack. Reports from the scene say the bomber rammed his car into the white SUV carrying the governor, Asadullah Khalid. Click Here for Full Blotter Coverage. The attack comes just days after the Taliban had requested they be able to bury the body of one of their top commanders, Mullah Dadullah, who was killed over the weekend. Gov. Khalid instead put the body on display for journalists outside his office. "I can confirm that Mullah Dadullah has been killed, and his dead body is outside my office, and everyone, journalists and ordinary people, can come and see his dead body," Khalid told reporters over the weekend. Later, the governor had the body buried in Kandahar but said if Dadullah’s family made contact with him, they could rebury him elsewhere.

We all pick our battles. At least now, Mullah Dadullah can join his other leg in the afterlife.

So the Taliban requested they be able to bury the body of a top commander, huh? Would they do the same? I don’t think so. The governor should put the body on display to show what happens to a member of the Taliban.

They should put his head on a pole in front of the Government Building as a warning to others.

Hey everyone…
I understand the anger…but putting a head on a stick or a pole…come on. The difference between us and the terrorists is we are not terrorists…unless we do as skidog suggests…

They put heads on polls in the Philippines during an insurgency and its stopped it right away. They need to know that if they “mess with the bull, they’re going to get the horn.”
