Did Gadhan post it, or is this the work of an intelligence agency? Why doesn’t this tape come up in a Google search? How does ABCNEWS know about it so quickly?

Why does ABCNews insist on calling any recording “tapes?” This isn’t the 1970s! I doubt there was any audiotape, videotape, or film involved at any point in the creation or distribution of Gadahn’s recording.

I believe in this beautiful country. I have studied its roots and gloried in the wisdom of its magnificent Constitution. I have marveled at the wisdom of its founders and framers. Generation after generation of Americans has understood the lofty ideals that underlie our great Republic. I have been inspired by the story of their sacrifice and their strength.
But, today I weep for my country. I have watched the events of recent months with a heavy, heavy heart. No more is the image of America one of strong, yet benevolent peacekeeper. The image of America has changed. Around the globe, our friends mistrust us, our word is disputed, our intentions are questioned.
Instead of reasoning with those with whom we disagree, we demand obedience or threaten recrimination. Instead of isolating Saddam Hussein, we seem to have isolated ourselves. We proclaim a new doctrine of preemption which is understood by few and feared by many. We say that the United States has the right to turn its firepower on any corner of the globe which might be suspect in the war on terrorism. We assert that right without the sanction of any international body. As a result, the world has become a much more dangerous place.
We flaunt our superpower status with arrogance. We treat UN Security Council members like ingrates who offend our princely dignity by lifting their heads from the carpet. Valuable alliances are split.
After war has ended, the United States will have to rebuild much more than the country of Iraq. We will have to rebuild America’s image around the globe.
The case this Administration tries to make to justify its fixation with war is tainted by charges of falsified documents and circumstantial evidence. We cannot convince the world of the necessity of this war for one simple reason. This is a war of choice.
There is no credible information to connect Saddam Hussein to 9/11. The twin towers fell because a world-wide terrorist group, Al Qaeda, with cells in over 60 nations, struck at our wealth and our influence by turning our own planes into missiles, one of which would likely have slammed into the dome of this beautiful Capitol except for the brave sacrifice of the passengers on board.
The brutality seen on September 11th and in other terrorist attacks we have witnessed around the globe are the violent and desperate efforts by extremists to stop the daily encroachment of western values upon their cultures. That is what we fight. It is a force not confined to borders. It is a shadowy entity with many faces, many names, and many addresses.
But, this Administration has directed all of the anger, fear, and grief which emerged from the ashes of the twin towers and the twisted metal of the Pentagon towards a tangible villain, one we can see and hate and attack. And villain he is. But, he is the wrong villain. And this is the wrong war. If we attack Saddam Hussein, we will probably drive him from power. But, the zeal of our friends to assist our global war on terrorism may have already taken flight.
The general unease surrounding this war is not just due to “orange alert.” There is a pervasive sense of rush and risk and too many questions unanswered. How long will we be in Iraq? What will be the cost? What is the ultimate mission? How great is the danger at home?
A pall has fallen over the Senate Chamber. We avoid our solemn duty to debate the one topic on the minds of all Americans, even while scores of thousands of our sons and daughters faithfully do their duty in Iraq.
What is happening to this country? When did we become a nation which ignores and berates our friends? When did we decide to risk undermining international order by adopting a radical and doctrinaire approach to using our awesome military might? How can we abandon diplomatic efforts when the turmoil in the world cries out for diplomacy?
Why can this President not seem to see that America’s true power lies not in its will to intimidate, but in its ability to inspire?
War appears inevitable. But, I continue to hope that the cloud will lift. Perhaps Saddam will yet turn tail and run. Perhaps reason will somehow still prevail. I along with millions of Americans will pray for the safety of our troops, for the innocent civilians in Iraq, and for the security of our homeland. May God continue to bless the United States of America in the troubled days ahead, and may we somehow recapture the vision which for the present eludes us.

The main argument of the Truthers is that, according to Rosie O’Donnell, fire doesn’t melt steel. they claim that the fire from the jet fuel would not burn hot enough to melt, warp, weaken the steel of the buildings, thus it had to be an inside job. Well, one month ago, not 70 miles from me, there was a gas truck carrying regular gasoline…the kind you put in your car, nowhere near the octane or flammability or BTU producer of jet fuel, that rolled over, caught fire and burned right underneath a freeway overpass in The Maze coming off the Bay Bridge in San Francisco. What do you think happened? yup, that’s right, it melted the steel holding up that overpass. the steel, arguably as strong if not stronger than the steel in the Towers due to the fact it had to be able to support the weight and abuse of traffic as well as earthquakes and other such evils. It collapsed onto the lower portion of the freeway in LESS time than it took for the buildings to come down AFTER being struck by airliners travelling in excess of 500 miles an hour, EXPLODING and then burning with the added fuel of the office equipment and papers etc. inside.
Now, just based on this alone, it is very easy to dismiss every single argument they Truthers and fellow conspiricy idiots have made. unless, of course, Bush planned the accident and planted explosive on the overpass in order to throw the truthers off…
But who could think he was capable, considering he is such a blithering idiot.

Well, I’ll tell you what Eric. I will take my years of experience in firefighting, as well as what all the REAl experts, and not what two guys living in their mom’s basement, have to say about it. Maybe you didn’t read the “Popular Mechanics” articles debunking everything you guys believe. or maybe you didn’t see the History Channel documentary on the Wirld Trade Centers and how they were constructed in a way that no other sky scrapers had ever been contructed before, using an exoskeleton rather than the stepped design of years past. Maybe you didn’t relize that the floors that burnt, making the steel collapse, causing the hundreds of tons of concrete, steerl, plastic, wood, etc. to fall in a way that the building was NOT designed for would cause the entire building to pancake in the exact ways that they did, considering the ENTIRE floors had not only been wiped out by the hit, but then suffered an incredible explosion felt and heard miles away, which sent debris blocks away, and then completely engulfed the floords in flame, not making them burn only in one area which would have then caused the building to list and fall to one side. But then, seeing as how you have absolutely NO experience or knowledge in anything such as building construction, demolitions, fire fighting, fire behavior, physics, or anything else having to do wit what occurred that day, I can see why you would want to believe them rather than people who were there, people who were invilved and people who DO know about such things. You find it easier to believe two guys making a video in mom’s basement, who weren’t there, have absolutely no idea what they are talking about and have admitted themselves that they just were stirring the pot. Maybe you should ask yourself what it is iabout you or in your past that causes you to hate your own country and the people in it so much as to WANT to believe that such a thing could happen. Maybe you should ask yourself exactly how, that many people who would have to be involved in such a cover-up…numbering in the thousands, could not only keep this a secvret for the amount of time that it takes to conceive, plan and execute this devious plot, but that they have remained committed to the lie even after all this “truth” has “:surfaced”. D- Put our fighting boys where they belong- as a human shield against invaders to our homeland.
If us ‘patriotic Americans’ could do this, we could then recall all of our manufacturing en masse, drill for and refine our own oil and gas (which we have in greater amounts than the entire middle east in Utah and Colorado) and become once again self-sustaining.

This graphic is an excellent visualization of why the collapse could not have occurred without explosives weakening the lower floors. If you drop the top-20 floors through thin air, it falls at freefall speed. However, if you drop the top-20 floors onto the lower 90-floors, the lower floors offer a MASSIVE deal of resistance to the falling 20-floors. Physics and simple logic dicate that in the latter scenario, the top-20 floors will have their fall impeded by a massive structure that will slow down the free fall by several dozen seconds. This did NOT happen in reality. The towers actually fell in near free-fall speed, as if the lower 90 floors were not even there (as the graphic indicates).
