I am not sure that America could made bigger fools of on a regular basis if we tried. I wonder which campaign contributor was assigned this mission with no qualifications what so ever to actually run it. Somebody stop the never ending spiral our country seems to be falling into.

Well I see a lot of people attacking President Bush for Alhurra. The truth be told Alhurra is under the same umbrella as Voice of America, Which was not started by Bush. In the 1990′s under President Clinton, Alhurra was born and brought out on its own. Clinton started it, and it is currently under a contract that congress controls. The president has not say in the funding of Alhurra it lies on congress. So blame the right people.

The very fact that the US has been attempting political manipulations in these areas, is how such enemies have been ultimately gathering. Not least, when George Bush Senior was heading the CIA, and then the country.
It does the case for Israel no good, for the USA to have exacerbated ire by meddling in affairs over there. Yugoslavia was a well-founded, and thankfully successful enterprise, but Iraq (that old customer for US weapons) was very-much not!
The hornets nest is well and truly stirred up, and whatever confused directive any malcontents might ever have had over there – they are much easier to galvanize against a “Crusade” (GW’s incredible call to arms, while sending other people’s kids to die in the sandy firmament).
The intelligence, and experts warned against this, but to a president and party with such lack of world-wisdom, a snappy “Weapons Of MASS DESTRUCTION” mantra rolled nicely off the tongue.

Let me add some insight to the big picture. As Sinclair Lewis once said, “When Facism Comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and holding a cross.” We were blindsided by this administration because we foolishly thought that they were “men of the lord.” Now they have stipped us of our civil liberties and made an ass of us around the world, and they claim its all still in the name of God and patriotism. I wonder which God would order the killing of Muslims (which I hate to break it to you but Jesus was Arab, so in escense we are killing his people). But the bottom line is too many people in this country bought into the crap they fed us from day one and now we’re boiling in the melting pot! I’m just glad I never voted for satan’s spawn! Everything I predicted this administration would do has been done. For years my friends and family said I was “crazy” “that won’t happen” Now I get to say “TOLD YA SO!!!!!” I tried to warn people but all they could see was the cross he claimed to hold and the patriot he claimed to be. It was once said that when the Antichrist comes he will fool the masses as he is a great deciever. Hmmmm I’m gonna make my next prediction (since they have all come true thus far) Perhaps we are dealing with a much larger problem then we realize. I predict that the last chapters of revelation will come true very soon. I hope I’m wrong. God save me from your people! If you want a more in depth education listen to some immortal technique and see what I see! Save Your Souls before its too late then may we meet at heavens gate!

Wake Up, Filmer, & Wake Up. You fellows are good guys but you are off the mark and really need to wake up and understand what is happpening. The fish stinks at the head. Who hired Register? Not Bush. He could care less abotu Alhurra. The place is becoming a BBG staff landing pad. A way to go from a cheap government GSer to some bigger bucks and bonuses.
Ford, you had no leadership there now. Please don’t kid yourself. Reaper above, has the right idea. Too much money is going to these government retirees who have no diplomatic or real TV experience. Would you fly on a 747 with a pilot who own talks (not flys)to Piper pilots?
The 7 months of stupidity lies with Conniff who sits on his butt and read the Washington Post every morning in his retirement job and lives less thean 7 mile from the office.

Well, “yes” and “no” to the readers flogging the Bush administration for the accurately reported outrages of Al Harra. As it’s an US State Department entity, the administration is ultimately to blame – and perhaps most of all, Karen Hughes, the Undersecretary of State who is responsible for oversight. But the real problem is its news director, Larry Register. According to the web site “Sorce Watch”: “A March 2007 opinion piece by Joel Mowbray in the Wall Street Journal expressed concern at changes in Al Hurra’s programming since ‘longtime CNN producer, Larry Register’ became the channel’s news director in November 2006. ‘Investigations into Arab government wrongdoing or oppression were no longer in vogue, and the ban on turning the airwaves over to terrorists was lifted. For those who had chafed under Mr. Register’s predecessor — who curbed the desire of many on staff to make Al-Hurra more like al-Jazeera — the new era was welcomed warmly,’” Subsequently, the Wall Street Journal has documented further Mr. Register as the source the anti-Israeli – indeed, anti-American – bias.
One suspects Mr. Register has been left in place these 7 months from stupidity, but its certainly not from including a liberal news professional in a right wing “friends of George” club.

Accidentally giving airtime to “terrorists” that just so happen to epitomize the West’s mythical idea of the Arabic Muslim caricature? These are hardly “gaffes,” people. This is obviously a propaganda campaign; it’s a media outlet being run by US forces.
