Obama Edges Out Edwards in ‘Take Back America’ Straw Poll
ABC News’ Tahman Bradley Reports: Barack Obama edged out John Edwards in an unscientific presidential preference "straw poll" of liberal activists at the "Take Back America" conference. Hillary Clinton finished third.
Obama finished with 29 percent of the overall vote, Edwards with 26 percent and Clinton with 17 percent.
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson finished in a distant fourth place with 9 percent. Eight percent of participants in the poll wrote in former Vice President Al Gore, who is not in race.
Even though the "straw poll" — which was sponsored by Politico.com — is not indicative of sentiment in the Democratic electorate as a whole, the results would seem to suggest that Clinton is not doing as badly among the liberal wing of the Democratic Party as some have suggested.
Clinton was booed from some of the attendees during her Wednesday morning speech but was well received overall. At last year’s conference, the former first lady was booed for refusing to support a timetable for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
Over the past year Clinton has adjusted her position on Iraq, voting against a war supplemental funding bill that did not contain timetable for US troop withdrawal and declaring that "if she knew then what she knows now," she would never have voted for the war in the first place.

tough call, but I’d vote for either of these two. If Bloomberg runs I have a real decision to make.

What is this, does ABC stand for All ‘Bout Clinton? First you disparage the “unscientific poll”. Everyone present that wanted to vote voted. Instead of a 0.2% sample with a host of statistical variables you get a 70-85% response with no statistical variables. Next, you point out that The Anointed One’s distant showing of 17% “…is not all that bad with the liberal wing…” to cast her poor results in some sort of better light. Finally, you contrast her being booed by mentioning that the rest of her speech was well received, failing to acknowledge that Hillary was THE ONLY ONE BOOED!
Why doesn’t the Clinton campaign pay you directly? Oh yeah, you work for ABC; Clinton already is paying you.
Whenever John Edwards makes significant strides on substantive issues, despite the media infatuation with the leading candidates ‘Hollywood Hype’, you (the mainstream media) work to minimize such success in order to manage the media – oops, I should has said “PROPAGANDA”. Though an Edwards supporter based on his stand on the issues, I think Obama needs to come back with his “1984” video. That was some impressive work; I wonder who his oracle is.
