I don’t think Chertoff is “crying wolf”…what if an attack is perpetrated? Everybody will say, “Why didn’t they warn us?”
Take his comments as a broad advisement or simply ignore them; it’s everybody’s choice.

I think that I knew the “Cry Wolf” story by the time I was 10. Where have these people been since their bodies grew up. I spent my life professionally involved in natural disasters and promise you, crying “Wolf!!” is a very dangerous game in times of trouble. Of course, if your business is the cry wolf game and that’s how you keep your job and get rich…….

I’m glad to see more comments here with people waking up that our “loving” government isn’t doing anything at all to “protect” the homeland.
If they (the responsible ones for 9/11) try to pull another attack on the United States, I for one will be in my car and heading to Washington DC to gather along with the rest of us who are sick of this and the destruction of our CONSTITUTION and COUNTRY. I don’t think this administration realizes how many of us are tired of this crap.

Having survived over 890 combat missions I’ve expereienced the gut feeling that many are using as another means of attacking the administration. Sometimes you’ve just got that sixth sense that tells you all you need to know.
Unfortunately, many would rather look inward and complain about the perceived injustices of the government rather than face the facts that we are the targets of a world wide movement that would destroy our way of life. The evidence is their, but like sheep, they’d rather cuddle together and make noise rather than defend themselves.

Chertoff used a common expression to all of us…the only difference being that HE HAS INFORMATION THAT MAKES HIS “GUT” FEELING RELIABLE.

if an attack happens? are you kidding me? IF? you all know that Al Queada is foaming at the mouth to pop us again. IF? Did you really think we’d be able to stop a second attack or a third or a fourth etc. etc.. Welcome to the new world people. Retired Gen. Tommy Franks has already publicly stated in Cigar Aficianado magazine that if we get hit by another terrorist attack that our Government would completely scrap what’s left of our constitution in favor of a full blown police state and that we are already half way there. Wake up people. Wake up.

If an attack happens, I pray the source of it will not be our own leaders as it is now. They attack our sensabilities with these threats and the evidence is overwhelming that if they didnt create and provoke such attacks, that they might be the ones stepping aside to allow them if not creating them. How about the “gut feeling” that we have no Homeland Security while our southern border with Mexico remains unsecured. Perhaps the terror cells from Pakistan that Chertoff is afraid may be on their way or have arrived came in last night, last week or anytime since 9/11 via our Southern Border. If they want to really protect our Homneland, our military should be sent down to the Southern Border NOW and remain there until the 2,000 mile high-security, Israeli style fence is built.
