Top Taliban Leader Killed in Afghanistan
EmailMullah Berader, a top Taliban commander, was killed early this morning in a U.S. air strike in volatile Helmand province, a senior Afghan general tells ABC News. A convoy of British troops and Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers was traveling through Salwan Qala district when they came under attack by Taliban forces, said Gen. Ghulam Mohiauddin Ghoori, the commander of ANA ground troops for Helmand. Amid an intense firefight, the British troops called in air support. American warplanes struck the Taliban positions, causing dozens of casualties, said Gen. Ghoori. Among the dead, his men on the ground confirmed, was Mullah Berader. Berader, also known colloquially as Mullah Brother, was close to Taliban leader Mullah Omar. His death will come as a major blow to the Taliban hierarchy and follows the deaths of senior commander Mullah Dadullah Lang in May and the arrest of Defense Minister Mullah Obaidullah in Quetta, Pakistan in March. Actually Chica, Bush is on record countless times saying the war in Afghanistan will long an hard. The Taliban are tribesmen with intimate knowledge of the terrain and operate out of an ungoverned region between pakistan and afghanistan.
Short of going in and wiping out every last man, woman and child let me ask you this. What would you do to defeat the Taliban. Or does your Bush Derangement Syndrome not allow for rational thought?

Brennan, you oversimplify. It’s not just a matter of getting each individual as you say. The Taliban – we “ousted them from power” in only the weakest sense of the word. We basically quit before the job was done and now they are growing in strength again. We left to go cause another mess in Iraq – somehow Bush can’t leave THAT job unfinished even though he had no problem doing just that in Afghanistan.

Thank god, I heard that guy had a plane ticket to NY next month…you know, we have to get them there cause they can’t possibly leave those countries and come here while we are there, right? I mean, if they WERE to come over here right now all our military would be worn out somewhere in a desert and we would be TRUELY screwed, right?

Very few people understand yet what is in the minds of the radicalized Muslims. They want to kill all infidels and unbelievers who will not accept the imposition of Islam. This means most of the Christians, Jews and other religious minorities of North America, most of the superior, sneering Europeans (who seem to be more atheist than Christian these days), most of the Catholics and charismatic Christians in South America, and most of the Buddhists, Hindus and Christians in Asia. We are talking billions of people, and they intend to kill billions of people if they won’t convert to Islam. They believe all of this merciless slaughter to be the will of God, and they see no discrepancy between the awful cruelty of this plan and the mercy of God. The confusion and misplaced blame of the present state of world affairs is easily cleared up by the simple expedient of following the hate and seeing where it leads.

71,000 Americans killed in the war and the U.S. President still will not comment on what she will do. The war came here to this country shortly after we were pulled out of Iraq. Now AlQuida is taking over state by state and the nation can do nothing about it. We have been put under Marshall Law and we have had our guns takin away. NO military force — throughout history — has defeated the Afghans and made it stick. Afghanistan has a reputation as “the graveyard for foreign armies” … largely because the terrain is so hostile and the tribesman such capable warriors.
Google this: British, Afghanistan and learn some history before telling Bush, “We need more boots on the ground.” In 1842, a force of 30,000 invaded … The natives let one survivor live so he could tell the story.
Give Dubya some credit … he is going after the medieval zealots the only way we can … Thank God for our Air Power and bombs like ours … with ‘em, Alexander the Great and Ghengis Kahn MIGHT have done better.
