The Wall Street Journal today reports on presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani’s secretive consulting firm and a contract with the government of Qatar, to whom the firm provided consulting on security. The Blotter has previously reported on another one of Giuliani’s clients, Purdue Frederick, the drug company that pleaded guilty earlier this year to charges it misled doctors and patients about the addiction risk of the painkiller OxyContin. Federal officials said the company, Purdue Frederick, helped to trigger a nationwide epidemic of addiction to the time-release painkiller by failing to give early warnings about how easily the drug could be abused. Prosecutors say, "In the process, scores died." Do you have a tip for Brian Ross and the Investigative Team?
