I just want to say a few things about what happened. My name is Cheyenne and I grew up with a boy named Kyle . He is the son of Carol Sue. My mom and carol were best friends and for as long as i can remember carol was my “aunt”. I personally know that Lois(carols mom)blames the parole board as well as Mike Huckabee for what happened to aunt carol. The Judge who originally sentanced Wayne Dumond to life without parole…then somebody felt sorry for him and lessened his sentance so that he could get paroled and then Mike Huckabee decided that it would look good on him to show some compassion to a prisioner and get him/her out of prison…just one problem…he chose a convicted rapist. Upon his release from prison Wayne Dumond was told that he needed to leave the state. So he headed north to Missouri. Once there he stalked and raped and murdered a young woman name sara androsak…once he had killed her, he needed a new target…my aunt carol. he forced his way into the apartment that my aunt was taking care of and raped and suffocated her. Her son was 14 when she was murdered. She has missed so many moment of his life…his high school graduation, the day he joined the navy, his wedding and every other moment that she should have been here for. Please understand that I feel this way about any sex offender or murderer…once they have been convicted of a crime like this they should be locked in prison for the rest of their lives. Wayne Dumond got off easy…after he was convicted of killing my aunt he died in prison…he hasn’t had to live with his actions every day since then…her family and friends have.

I was sitting next to Huckabee when the Arkansas victim told him about the certainty that Dumond was the one and that if freed he would do it again and not leave a witness. Huckabee was also informed of Dumond’s previous sex and violent crimes in Washington and OKlahoma. Huckabee’s claim that Dumond had served longer than anyone e=lse from ST. Francis County was patently untrue. In fact, one man by the name of Scott was still in the pen for a 1968 crime when Dumond was freed. It’s not about politics to the victims and don’t let a lying Huckabee slither out of the role he played in freeing Dumond.

Would everyone please quit giving Huckabee a “get out of jail free” card ?
Huckabee KNOWS about sex crimes. They are called sex crimes but in reality it is about power and control that the rapist is seeking. The sexual gratification is not what the rapist seeks, it is secondary.
Rapists in some cases escalate.
Wayne Dumond was castrated !!!!! He could no longer inflict his type of violence on anyone so he took it to the next level. Not uncommon or unexpected.
So why did Huckabee help to get this man back on the streets?

Incredible the amount of Naiveté on this blog. Huckabee approached this problem with a minister’s point of view which is fine for a pastor but not for a Governor and certainly not a President. My hell he wrote this convicted rapist a letter stating his desire for this mans release. Am I the only one that feels a little bit of disgust in this behavior? Wake-up before it is too late!!!!!!

How can this mother put the blame on Mike Huckabee. I think if this daughter knew what her mother was doing, she would feel ashamed. It is a dreadful think to have happen, but you can not blame Mike Huckabee for the actions of another individual. It’s easy to have hind sight bias when looking at what happened. Truthfully, anyone released from any prison can commit horrible crimes. Don’t dishonor the victims by hurting someone else.

There are plenty of rapists, murders, child molesters, and other criminals that are released from prison daily that have the potential to recommit an offense. Some of these are pardons that are made public and yet millions of others that the public NEVER hears about. It is not the fault of anyone, but the offender that this hideous act that was committed once he was released from prison. It is ridiculous to point the finger at any one man.

If he simply did not know the available facts, then he has no business ever again being in a position of high authority and responsibility. (That he alone out of all candidates knew nothing of NIE the other day is a red flag. President Bush is not known for his brilliance
-just his character- but his people always have him up to speed in facts as they are known at the time- and that includes WMD in 2003 which President Clinton and every high IQ politician in the world was sure that Saddam still had all through the 1990s). If Huckabee actually knew that DuMond was a lifelong criminal and pathological liar, and Huckabee’s actions of support for parole were just horribly exaggerated feelings of compassion (which as C.S. Lewis said-”costs a statesman his honor and a maiden her virginity”), Governor Huckabee needs to explain that point-by-point in relentless detail to a national audience. That includes two families in Missouri.

It is of course completely ludicrous to assert that an Arkansas governor has no role in paroles or the parole board. Clinton/Tucker appointees were still dependent upon Huckabee for reappointment to their jobs. Arkansas governors have every ability in the world to influence a parole board, and most of those on the board have come out saying that he did. So has Governor Huckabee’s top aide who was in the room when it happened. I am an uber-conservative who still supports President Bush through thick and thin. I am a Southern Baptist Evangelical-Fundamentalist with graduate degrees and work in history and modern political science. I am tremendously anti-Clinton. I was extremely excited about the Mike Huckabee candidacy, until I learned about the unspeakable lifetime atrocities of serial-rapist and murderer Wayne Dumond, which began long before he arrived in Ashley Stephens’ town.

For all those defending Huck, please read the Arkansas Times articles. Dumond had admitted to his part in killing a man with a claw hammer, assaulting a girl, and raping another woman BEFORE raping Clinton’s cousin. He was a serial violent felon. Huck knew all this and still pressured the parole board (who do you think reappoints them to their $70k a year jobs) to release him. He has the last two victims blood on his hands.
