What the Candidates Aren’t Telling You
Despite all the talk of changing Washington, the top contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination appear to be following the time-honored Beltway tradition of keeping their high-dollar fundraising events off the candidates’ official schedule and out of the public eye. Chicago Sun-Times reporter Lynn Sweet writes in her blog that the Sen. Barack Obama campaign has refused to disclose all of its fundraising events on his public schedule. The Obama camp decided to make some of these activities public, if they occur in a "public" place, after Sweet and other reporters started agitating for more disclosure last week. Obama’s rival Sen. Hillary Clinton only announces fundraising events attended by more than 1,000 people and makes those events open to the press, according to a spokesman. A spokeswoman for Sen. John Edwards said that with the exception of events aimed at raising low-dollar amounts, their campaign had not made their fundraising events schedule available to the public. In 40 years this country won’t even exist becasue of the way they are avoiding entitlement programs so what the hell difference does it make how they raise the money to screw the general public. Time to follow the Declaration of Independence and change the government when it no longer doing the will of the people.
Can you say liar or theif?
Now say Hillary, Barack and John. Get the idea?

Cap the amount permitted to be spent on the campaigns. End this ‘who can raise the most’ nonsense. Third parties can spend as much as they like but must have the permission of the campaign to use images or statements. networks are urged to not contribute to negative ads.

Some candidates do not have to worry about anything negative reported. News reporters are afraid they will be viewed as racist.

fballfn…you got it my friend. That makes me sick, also notice how the only candidate that makes any sense at all, doesn’t play the name calling game or sling mud, does not have one single questionable thing on him in his perfect 30 year congress career..is the very one the media ignores.

Well, Paulians here your chance…are all Ron Paul fundraisers open to press?

James…that’s a pretty insignicant question, can’t you come up with something better than that?? No?? I thought so. Get a clue!

Hugh Fowler: Are you talking about entitlements for the rich? As in hundreds of billions for tax giveaways to the top couple percent of income earners? Or are you talking about entitlements embodied in sweetheart deals for big oil, gas, pharmeceuticals and insurance companies?Or are you talking about entitlements written in to pork barrel earmarks? Or are you talking about entitlements for a President who has wasted over a trillioin dollars on a go-nowhere war with no end in sight?
I bet by “entitlements” you mean just what the poor and middle class get in the way of income when they’re disabled, retired or temporarily unemployed (remember, welfare as we knew it has been done away with all except a year or two of it). So are you the typical double-standard right winger who strains at a gnat paid out to average people while you swallow a herd of entitlements paid to wealthy pigs who already own 88 percent of our country’s wealth, leaving the rest of us only 12 percent collectively? You don’t consider crony-kickback-corruption, enron-style Wall Street profiteering, congressional pork, presidential kickbacks, sell-outs to foreign powers, windfall taxes, windfall profits…you don’t consider those entitlements. You’re right about one thing: this country won’t exist anymore if the Republicans stay in power.

I THINK THE ONLY LIARS ARE BARACK OBAMA AND JOHN EDWARDS, GIVEN THAT THEY BASED THEIR NOMINATION ON NOT ACCEPTING MONEY FROM SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS. HILLARY NEVER TRIED TO PASS THIS ONE OVER OUR HEADS. GO HILLARY!!!

The process has been hijacked. The election is a sham. wake up…

Does anyone actually believe complaining about this will change it. The Politicians have hundreds of people that can hide where their campaign contributions come from. While running for President the Canidates have some of the best people money can buy hiding it.

What’s the use? The people of this country don’t care!! Let the president become a dictator. Let this “regime” blatenly abuse it’s power. Let the rich investment bankers and corporate CEOs rape and pillage the national treasury. Let the media moguls dictate to us who to vote for. We could care less. We have our Fords our HDTVs and Ipods. We’re secure knowing that we are the stongest and most rightious nation on earth. How lucky we are to have all this. Don’t rock the boat now or we might lose all this imaginary security.
What we need is a socialist government.

The Republicans have sent a lot of American jobs overseas will creating a hughe number of unemployed over educated workers here, while paying corporations with Government Financial Incentives. How can that be perceived as doing the will of the people?
Can we say Republican Liars, Microsoft, IBM, Hallaburton, ect., Oil tycoons, Global Conglomerates, oh yeah and Lobbyists?

They only tell you what you want to hear. We only hear what we want to hear.
They do what is best for them. We do what is best for us.
They are all liars. We are all liars.
Are they better than us? Are we better than them?

Obama has promised Ted a VP slot, what else would get him out on the trail. Ted can funnel and use funds without having to report like the candidate. What a secret plot to get the vote!
Posted by: TVCASTER | January 31, 2008, 12:38 pm 12:38 pm
If Obama gets nomination , I vote Republican. If Obama takes Ted Kennedy for the VP , I’ll still vote Republican. The Republicans have figured this out already, that they will get more votes. So they are doing all they can to see Obama get the nomination. Geezzzzzzzzzzzz ! Wake Up ya’ll !!!!!
Posted by: gh123 | February 1, 2008, 10:52 pm 10:52 pm
Ted Kennedy is definitely gunning for VP. What’s with these Mass. Senators changing their minds for their own political gain. As of December, Kennedy was a Clinton supporter, now that he has shot a VP we see where he’s shallow support is going. Shame on you Teddy!
And for the record, I am an African-American, and black people are voting for Obama because he’s BLACK. Not all Blacks are doing it, but large portion. They won’t tell the media that, in all of private conversations, that’s what they say “I don’t care, I wanna see a Black man be President.” And yes the media is scared to be called racist. We want objectivity, egg-shell walking. But guess to want that is to be too “wide-eyed” like Obama!
If Obama gets the nomination, I vote third party. There’s no way that I’ll vote for any of the Republicans, but there is no way that I’ll for Obama. His ideals are unrealistic. He believes that he will somehow change the fundamental beliefs of all the Republicans in Washington and get them to go along with his policies! That is INSANE!! Obama can’t carry the Democratic base in a general election. The same way the Democratic base DIDN’T show up for John Kerry, they won’t show uo for Obama. Then we’ll have McCain, or even worst…..Romney…….or even worst…..HUCKABEE!!! NOOOOOOOO!!! If so, we’re all screwed, and we should move to Europe or Australia until this mess settles (lol, jk)!
See you in November!

HMMMMMMMMMMM. What BS. Where are the Republicans?
Posted by: Bush | February 13, 2008, 11:15 am 11:15 am
STOP LOOKING BACKWARDS-who cares who and what was in their past- we have all made choices that we can’t change now. My fear is that Obama will get the Dem. nomination. I’m not racist-but I’m sick of the OPRAH factor and reverse “white”
discrimination. Obama is appealing to the “poor minorities.” Why doesn’t he donate his own money to help them? He is making UNREALISTIC Tax cut promises. If you take away business tax cuts – they will just eliminate more jobs. I don’t support the loop holes – but GET REAL OBAMA!” Hillary has solid ideas – much more realistic than the emotional hype. Obama IS afraid to debate her because he has no SUBSTANCE – its all vaporware and pie in the sky garbage.
