The Potomac Primary

We just finished our daily 11 a.m. conference call. Here’s what we’re planning on tonight:

The Democrats and Republicans are fighting it out in three more contests tonight: Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.  And because of the proximity they have to each other, today’s contests are getting all kinds of nicknames: the Potomac Primary, the Chesapeake Contests, the Crabcake Primary, etc, etc.

After winning five contests over the weekend, Obama is expected to do well today.  According to recent polls, the junior senator from Illinois is leading by nearly 20 points in both Virginia and Maryland.  ABCNews’ David Wright has been following the Obama campaign and he’ll have the latest tonight on the Democratic race.

Yesterday we told you we’d be running an update on a story from last year on teenagers who are struggling with prescription drug abuse.  We decided to go with another story later in the day, but today we’ll have that prescription drug abuse piece we promised you.

And finally, Jake Tapper will take a look at those viral political ads and their spoofs that get passed around the internet.  You’ve seen them — there’s Obama Girl and Huckabee GirlYes We Can and No We Can’tLeave Britney Alone and Leave Hillary Alone.  The list goes on and on. Tune in tonight to see how it all comes together.

Is Barrack Obama Racist?
“…My father when he came here, he didn’t look like you know – he didn’t look like he stepped off the Mayflower”.
I wonder how he can make such a comment and not be called on it. His mother is white does this mean she looks like she stepped off the Mayflower? Do all us white people look like we stepped off the Mayflower? I found this comment from a Presidential candidate extremely offensive, but I guess it is ok seeing as how it came from a “black” man. This is wrong on so many different levels, political, personal, professional and human. We are suppose to be more “politically correct” in our day to day dealings with those around us yet we get a shining example of how much different we are from someone who is suppose to be uniting us. I am offended that we allow what equals in my eyes as reversed discrimination to go unchecked and tolerated because he is a “black” man.

A statement this man made about his own father and you want to ‘call him on it’?

What a jerk Obama is – I am so glad I haven’t fallen to his celebrity and media hype. I am making my decision on credibility and experience.

I totally agree with Mike above. Obama cannot get away with anything he wants to say and never get called on it. I am a resident of Washington DC and am voting for Hillary Clinton today. In my close circle of friends, there are 8 of us voting for Hillary. Hillary will win Texas, Pa and Ohio and the delegates from Fla and Mi will be and should be given to her…it is far from over!!!!

I am not sure why this statement [My father when he came here, he didn't look like you know - he didn't look like he stepped off the Mayflower]has offended some. He was stating a fact, how many blacks were on the Mayflower, that you know of??? Even though my dad looks like he could have been on the Mayflower, he wasn’t, his family came from Germany at the turn of the last century. My mom on the other hand would have never been picked as having family that came over on the Mayflower. It was just a statement of a fact, nothing more nothing less. I have not decided who I shall vote for, so no I have not bought into the Obama wave yet, both candidates have not answered some of my concerns for this country.
