In ’07, Dems Raked In Corporate Cash
Does big business favor Republicans? Not so much, these days.
It was once so. For the last several years, corporate money groups gave Congressional Republicans two dollars for every buck it handed to Democrats. But since the Democrats took over the House and Senate in 2006, Big Business has been more equitable with its handouts, according to Roll Call newspaper (sub. req.) this morning.
Last year, Dems harvested money from corporate PACs at a downright Republican rate, according to an independent Campaign Finance Institute analysis cited by the paper. In 2007, Dems pocketed nearly $30 million from the corporate groups, compared to roughly $32 million taken by GOP candidates and committees.
Anonymous insiders tell the paper Dems are likely to be tickled by their new shower of corporate cash. “They’re usually happy if they can get it to 50/50,” says one. They would probably like even more, the source said, but they probably don’t think they’re “entitled” to that much.

IMO the reason big business is giving money to the Democrats is b/c of the illegal immigration issue. Democrats are more open to allowing illegal immigrants to continue entering the US, thereby supplying big business with cheap labor. The US Chamber of Commerce is very supportive of illegal immigration, and in fact has joined the Tulsa OK Chamber and OKC, OK Chamber of Commerce in suing the State of Oklahoma on the recently passed, very tough, illegal immigration legislation. Thank you Chamber of Commerces – supporting illegal immigration instead of supporting those businesses who comply with the law.

It’s too bad the Democrats can’t get an early start on unifying like the Republicans have, with Mitt getting out in order to give the Repubs the jump on smearing and swiftboating and fear-war-mongering. I hope the Dems aren’t stupid enough to be fighting clear into April or May and splitting the party which will weaken the party with hard feelings. Meanwhile the Republicans, already underway under Juan Potato-cheek-Captain-Amnesty-Mac-The-Knife-in-the-back McCain are already gearing up the Republican swiftboating, smearing, war-mongering machine and they’ll use it to beat up on the Demmocrats while the Dems sit passively by and take it on the chin with no vigorous rebuttal-response. This is the same mistake John Kerry made: Letting character and patriotism smears and charges of “surrender monkey” stick instead of vigorously answering them and fighting the slurs. As a consequence, the slurs and strawmen-stereotyping of Kerry stuck in the public mind, even though disproven with hard evidence. From then on, through the election of 2004, John Kerry wore the label ‘flip flopper’ and ‘war coward’. Whoever attacks first, dirtiest and most often tends to win elections. The Republicans have had great success with such quick, dirty, sloganeering and repetitive smears and the Democrats have lost two elections because they didn’t stand up and because they were scared to say anything ‘not nice’ for fear they might be disapproved of. The right-wing news media are only too happy to harp on Demcocrat flaws but they pass over Republican ones. So the stereotyping quickly takes hold if not given back in force and in kind. The Dems had better unify themselves right now and stand up to the Republican attack machine that is soon coming, or they will put a George W. Bush clone John McCain) into the White House. Can you imagine 4 to 8 more years of failure, deterioration, banktuptcy, recession, quagmire-war and neglect of economic-social problems such as we’ve had for these last 8 years under President Bush? Can you IMAGINE? Any more Democrat passivity and the Republicans will continue their destruction of the USA. And we may not get a second chance to recover. Dems better wake up, or they will again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

300 Spartans defended Sparta….545 Americans are destroying America….
Politians are the only people in the world who create problems, then campaign against them!
Why, if both Democrats and Republicans are against deficits…we have deficits?
If all politians are against inflation & high taxes…why do we have inflation & high taxes.
The President proposes a federal budget.
The House of Representatives vote on appropriations.
Congress writes the tax code.
Congress sets fiscal policy.
The Federal Reserve Bank controls monetary policy.
100 Senators, 435 Congressmen, one President & 9 Supreme Court Justices make up the 545 human beings that are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
These 545 people spend much of their energy convincing us, that what they did is not their fault.
Every single domestic problem, from unfair tax codes to defense overruns, are directly traceable to these 545 people. These 545 people exercize power of the federal government, then it must be;
That what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair….it is because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red….it is because they want it in the red.
If the Marines are in Iraq….it is because they want them in Iraq.
These 545 people would like to con us into thinking that disembodied mystical forces in the form of “the economy”, “inflation” or “politics” prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do….
These 545 people, and they alone, are responsible…..
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!
