Bill Clinton Thinks Primary Process Will Have ‘Unusual Outcome’

ABC News’ Sarah Amos reports: Bill Clinton began a busy day of campaigning today in Elk Point, S. D., by taking a moment to mention the DNC Rules Committee meeting that is currently under way in Washington, D.C. "This has been an amazing election, and it has come down to the end, and you and Montana and Puerto Rico are going to be the last three places to vote. I think that we are going to have an unusual outcome," said Clinton, in regards to the Democratic primary process coming to an end next week.

Clinton then reminded the crowd that the DNC Rules Committee meeting was at the moment trying to decide what to do about the contested delegated of Florida and Michigan. "The Republicans seated them as half delegates, the Democrats eviscerated them even though the Republicans were more responsible, in fact completely responsible, and the Democrats shared responsibility with Michigan. They figured since Michigan was the worst hurt state in the country by the Bush economy, they oughta be able to vote early — and we will see what happens," Clinton told the crowd from the front porch of a local home.

"Hillary’s position has always been that if everybody gets to vote, and everybody’s vote is counted, she would accept the will of the Democrats and those who are legally eligible to participate in that process, that we would unify this party united do our best to win in November," added Clinton, before moving on to other topics.

bill,
democracy embraces all in a FAIR and BALANCED way. play by the RULES and we’ll all get along!
unless bill clinton is saying that the demographics of florida and michigan voters is peculiar (as it is in wv and ky), then the group, taken as a whole, doesn’t gain or lose anything by not counting florida’s and michigan’s votes cast in their state’s non-elections. the issue is the rules, and the rules alone.
48 states followed the rules and chose obama as the democratic nominee. at this juncture, 17 million people voted FOR obama.

The phony hypocrite should step aside to give the dems a sure win in November. The way it goes, Bho will join the typical dems Pres. nominee club – a loser.

First, not all 48 states followed the rules.
Second, if you realized you made a dumb mistake, you ought correct it whether or not it is a rule or a dumb mistake. You have a president for the past 8 years who boneheaded stick to the gun of his dumb mistakes, refusing to correct it. Now, your have this phony “new Bho kind of politics” doing the same thing.
He calls himself, Yes, Revolution We Can Believe In! (that was Chairman Mao’s quote).

Unusual outcome?
We are going elect a Republican as the nominee or what?
What in the heck is he talking about?

Seat the delegates from Florida and Michigan. They count. Seat them as they chose to vote. That is fair. Obama is not on the ballot in Michigan, therefore he obtains no votes. It’s his mistake. If we do not seat the delegates, the democratic nominee assuredly loose.

“Hillary’s position has always been…”
Well that is an interesting quote. What has her position been on Michigan? Seems like she has had more than one. I guess it depends on what the definition of “always” is.

CAN HILLARY CREATE A NEW POLITICAL PARTY TO REPRESENT THE WOMEN AND WORKING CLASS IN THE GENERAL ELECTION? MILLIONS OF VOTERS HOPE SO.
The DNC has made it clear that they have a nominee that represents blacks and college kids and that they don’t care about women and working class voters. Obama’s supporters have made that abundantly clear in their comments to these blogs. What hasn’t yet dawned on women and working folks is that the democratic party no longer represents their interests – which means a new political party has splintered off from the democrats – a working class and women party to be exact. Hillary Clinton represents that constituency. Since the democrats will not be able to convince these voters – the ones that Obama has blatantly and consistently insulted – to accept the lesser of 2 evils – McCain vs. Obama – they will either change parties or vote for the lesser of 2 evils – McCain. The DNC has forced a split in the party – by its reckless disregard for women and working class voters – thank God Hillary is there to represent them.

“…she would accept the will of the Democrats and those who are legally eligible to participate in that process, that we would unify this party united do our best to win in November.” Cool then by the middle of next week she can start campaigning for Obama so we can get on with eliminating the McBush threat to our country.

I can only hope that Hillary would allow a write in for her on the ballot for President! God help us if Obama and his group of radicals from the 60′s gets in the White House!

Every time this man speaks, more Democrats disown him.
How can he purport to secure the nomination of the party for his wife when he constantly decries Democrats as ‘irresponsible’? Go home already, Clintons. Do yourselves and the country a favor- fade quietly into political obscurity.

Posted by: Soldier | May 31, 2008, 11:44 am 11:44 am

Yeah, Michigan and Florida are worthless, why should they count? Obama has the black vote in the bag, who needs those states, I’m sure that he’ll win easy with the 12 or 13 million black voters behind him. NOT.

Posted by: JR | May 31, 2008, 11:51 am 11:51 am

Soldier — PLEASE speak for yourself. Geez, you guys’ tunnel vision is so boring it hurts. Unless you forgot this is supposed to be a democracy — you can try to ram a candidate down our throats if you want but millions of voters simply are not buying it. Period. Pelosi and company can threaten all they want but it’s up to the PEOPLE and the truth is, the PEOPLE are choosing between two democratic candidates and like it or not, but your boy ain’t winning everything as far as popular votes go. Maybe you should take you own advice and fade quietly into obscurity.

I hope the “unusal outcome” that Clinton speaks of includes having the DNC run the Clintons out of town for waging such a divisive and destructive campaign. That would be both unusual and deeply satisfying for many of us.

Posted by: Valerie | May 31, 2008, 11:53 am 11:53 am

Just how is the DNC spliting the party. People have voted in the primaries and Obama is ahead in delegates.

Posted by: erin | May 31, 2008, 11:57 am 11:57 am

“run the Clintons out of town for waging such a divisive and destructive campaign”……..You know there are two people running in this campaign or are you saying, “How dare Hillary run against Obama”? That’s what it sounds like to me.

Posted by: JR | May 31, 2008, 12:00 pm 12:00 pm

Yes! The unusal outcome is that Hillary Clinton will be coronated, queen of the republic. Soon after she’ll be doing shots with John McCain while Bill entertains the interns. Yeeee haw.

Druggstohr:
I find it hard fading into obscurity: I’m too busy preparing to deploy to fight the war that your candidate, HILLARY CLINTON VOTED TO AUTHORIZE.
Take my advice yourself: when Hillary loses, take her, her husband, and yourself on a long trip into political obscurity.
I swear on my soul: I have not met one member of the US Army who supports or is voting for Hillary Clinton. The Army rank and file support is split between Obama and McCain. And it should be- at least we know where they stand on the Iraq war. Hillary Clinton’s position changes whenever she changes venues. She is nothing but Queen Panderer.

What a waste of time, effort, and money (Obama is the inevitable nominee) just to appease Hillary! She is an attention addict; feverishly fighting to get just one more fix!
All-or-nothing Hillary supporters claim they will defect and vote for McCain (or not vote at all) because Hillary is an also-ran!
Is Hillary a loyal Democrat or the head of a cult?

See Soldier, that’s where you make your mistake. I AM a veteran though probably a bit older than you – Vietnam was my era. To me your statement is contradictory though understandable. I can’t tell if you are for or against the war but it really doesn’t matter since I doubt you were drafted — like I was. I even stayed past for a total of 10 years. You probably signed up which means you took your chances. I would wager that there are lots and lots of GIs who don’t support either Obama or McCain but don’t have the guts to say so in the military environment. I have tremendous respect for McCain and his sacrifice in the Navy. I certainly cannot say the same for Obama. I do not, however, have as much confidence in him in other areas of administration; nor for Obama. If you want to keep up with the macho crap, then go ahead but that’s all it really is. And thatnks, by the way, for your service. I really mean that. I don’t want you there either brother.

Why is the Clinton campaign not only so desperate to get back into power, but afraid of whistle blowers even in the Bush Administration?
Terry McAuliffe, the former head of the Democratic National Committee who now is chairman of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign committee, said Mr. McClellan was “wrong” to write the book.
“I find it abhorrent the way these people come out and write books about their boss. It made ‘em money, it made ‘em prestige, it gave them all this power and then they turn around and slap ‘em,” Mr. McAuliffe said in an interview this week with National Journal.
“I don’t care who it is — Democrat, Republican — it’s wrong,” he said.
‘Peek-a-boo, you are doomed insiders.
Ode To Obama’s Wright
Oh, Mr. Obama, I hear the critics deplore,
you had twenty years with this dizzying pastor,
in all those years how could you ignore
the eccentric rage of this black-power master?
For his egregious wounds, were you also sore?
In the heat of his herd, were you out to pasture?
Your decision, they say, it must be flawed,
to tithe him your pay, and grant him your might
as he swirled his vitriol into the words of God!
Obama, why did you stay with the old Dr. Wright?
Yes, I hear the critics chant, and their followers nod,
how could you not have heard what was in plain sight?
But none of these critics has seemingly considered
that it was your families choice, not only yours,
as they shoot Old Fashioned’s with too much Bitters
critics forget that Church is social, not just his, or hers;
more the nudge in the pew than what words deliver
is the community of families on which we concur.
It is the food at the pot luck, the chorus of choir,
how the children grow up, how the wives keep score,
and the jokes in the restroom that the elders conspire.
But the tokens of rhetoric, even words put to The Lord,
I’m afraid are not the fuel of a congregations fire.
Is great loneliness for a man to dictate “No More!”
But Obama, neither sexist, nor adamant dictator
could not rule over his family so self-centered
to throw out the baby with the baptismal water,
nor his wife’s best friends, or the ring that he bought her,
is for America, I think, a good indicator
of a unifying leader for all her sons and daughters.

Ah, druggstohr, I gotcha. So, because you were DRAFTED and I VOLUNTEERED, your service was more valuable? Or perhaps it’s because Hollywood has romanticized those great, crazy 60′s and 70s protest movements, right? Well, the reason that you aren’t ‘able to tell if I am for or against the Iraq war’ is because you assume that by my enlistment, I am pro-war. I opposed the Iraq war on national security grounds. It was not the right place or time to fight a large-scale conflict. It had nothing to do with our national security. I joined because I want to make something good come out of a bad decision. Your candidate, MS. Clinton, showed the worst possible judgement in authorizing the decision-making on whether to attack Iraq to a president she now derides. And as for the ‘macho crap’ that you cite, you and your feminist buddies can scream and cry all you want about those ‘dirty, filthy, stupid pig men’ who support Obama. I will stand firmly on my expertise on national security and foreign policy (I earned a Master’s degree in national security before I enlisted) to tell you: your candidate’s judgement and threats to attack Iran have inspired most servicemembers (though, we’re just stupid volunteers, right, Druggstohr?) to vote for Obama over Clinton. Too bad, so sad- you are going to lose the election. If you want, scream and cry somewhere else- while real men and women of character fight to win a war that never should have been waged.
I’ve learned the hard way that stubborn, dogmatic, weak-minded, tunnel-visioned fools like yourself often pollute any and all semblence of decent political debate with your polemics. Now that I have lowered myself into competing in the same sewer, I am going to submit my resignation from this ‘conversation’ on the grounds that I am ashamed to have been lowered into this garbage discussion with you.
Nothing follows. Good day.

Our economy is really going to to be on the dung pile, if Obama wins? He directly told the general public that he becomes president, he will sign into law a new AMNESTY. Although none of the Presidential contenders can be really trusted, Obama will be true to his word. That means if Democrats don’t get to gut the border fence, as they are right now? The raw truth is it will not matter? As taxpayers will be forced by federal law to support the 15 to 38 million illegal immigrants already here. That means big business has won and they just collect the profits. While the man or women in the street will have a giant financial yoke around their neck, to pay billions in even more welfare programs. Senator Obama will have condemned America to a bleak future, for not only subsidizing millions of poor, non-English speaking, uneducated foreign nationals. Our government skims quietly of your wage packet 356 billion dollars, to support illegal low income workers annually and appease big business and that cost will become a pittance.
The compounding effect is millions of more itinerant labor and families, will breach the border and no patrol, or army will be able to stop the momentum. Thats why we must stop OBAMA with the Federal SAVE ACT (H.R.4088) Tell your Democratic representative to sponsor it now. January 2009 will be far too late!

Since the Obamacans want Bill, Hillary and their supporters to go away, I think their wish should be granted.
As others have suggested, perhaps the Clintons would consider starting a third party.
Having won some 17.6 million votes so far, Senator Clinton, not to mention former President Bill Clinton, certainly has the backing and the connections to pull this off.
This really would be the best of all worlds.

Regardless of any prior rules, the Michigan and Florida delegates should be seated and all votes counted in favor of Clinton.
We cannot have a black man in the presidency. For all we know, Jerimiah Wright would be put on the Supreme Court! Would you all like THAT?

Posted by: JD | May 31, 2008, 12:39 pm 12:39 pm

I’m sure the unusual outcome Bill is thinking of is that the superdelegates will overrule the voters and give Hillary what she could not win in the voting booth: the nomination. And then Hillary can lose in November and we will finally be done with the Clintons for all time, I hope.

As a fairly consistent conservative voter this year I, and five voters in the family, had had it and were going to vote Democrat. Looking at the way the Clintons are again ready to sell everything, themselves and the country included, we’ll vote Obama or McCain.

Soldier — so you’re going to resign from the conversation? Where did I say that I was better than you because I was drafted? Wehen did I call volunterrs stupid? Why, because I don’t support Obama or McCain am I a feminist? Because I think for myself I am weakminded? Real Men? If you’re so tough then maybe YOU should stop crying: wah wah wah, I’m in the army. wah wah wah I hate this war. wah wah wah I have a masters degree and here I am stuck in the army. I know you can’t resist seeing if I responded to your diatribe. I can really tell I struck a nerve though that wasn’t my intention. And by the way, I’m not worried about losing the election — I’ve been around long enough to know it’s not going to change that much whoever wins. TAPS to you too. Stay low.

Posted by: druggstohr | May 31, 2008, 12:45 pm 12:45 pm

Like it or not, being drafted is a greater sacrifice than volunteering. Volunteers are not interrupting their lives, they are choosing that particular path for their own reasons.
Most of the men voting for Obama, the empty suit except for the hatred of this country and all white people, are misogynists. They would rather have a hate monger with no experience than any woman as their president. It was Obama who chose to take his name off the Michigan ballot. He didn’t have to do it. It was political inexperience that made that decision, just as it was political stupidity to get involved with Rezko and Wright and all the other crooks and hate mongers.

The vote of every american citizen must be counted in every State and let the voters decide who is the best democratic nominee.
We witnessed George Bush dirty politics in 2000 and now we are witnessing Barack Hussein’s dirty politics once again.
Hillary leads the popular vote if all the votes are counted. Barack wants to end the nomination race at any cost and as soon as possible before more revelations about his dirty friends and preachers of hate.
If Barack Hussein Obama cheats and wins the democratic nomination, we will be forced to vote for John McCain, a patriot conservative that loves America and risked his life for our country.
Hillary Clinton OR John McCain!

If you want florida and michigan to count you have to either split between obama and clinton or completely redo those 2 states….
If you just count who voted for Hillary its not fair because countless people that wanted to vote for obama or edwards wouldn’t be counted because obama and edwards followed the rules and weren’t on the ballot…. So basically this scenario would reward the candidates who didn’t follow rules and punish the candidates that followed the rules?
If you redo both states you are basically saying because you cheated and did it illegally we are going to reward you and let you pick our nominee……
If you split the votes it is the fairest because basically they have no impact on the nomination yet they are counted….
Just an independents point of view on the matter

I am from India, the largest democracy on the planet, with her own whims and twists.
One thing is however sure. The Primary Election system in America surely sucks.
Two major states, Florida and Michigan have voted, i.e. 2.3 million people went out and voted, and their votes do not count. It is like Kim Jong Il saying North Korea is a democracy. He can say, the rules say, that all the votes are for me and me alone.
If somebody’s vote is not to be counted, it is of those, who broke the rules, i.e. the Floridian Democratic Committee, not the registered and voting Democrats in Florida. If somebody feels like punishing Florida and Michigan, take away their superdelegates, but not the pledged delegates, because otherwise you are making USA into North Korea.
By the way, I find it amusing that both Indians and Americans can fall prey to the tunes of Pied Piper Politicians, like Barack Obama, who makes huge speeches, but has a very meagre CV to show for service to the country and acheivements in comparison to Clinton or McCain.
We are all suckers, aren’t we?

The only other Democrat besides Hillary Clinton I have seen so maligned and disrespected within their own party was Bobby Kennedy. I can tell you that the Democratic Party did not heal in ’68, and it will not heal in ’08, unless Senator Obama balances the ticket with a charismatic, conservative Democrat. I think an Obama/Clinton ticket would just not work. For those of us who supported Senator Clinton, the constant harping, guttersniping, and race baiting is just out of place in a primary. Some of you Obama People are brilliant and should be active participants in the machinery of American Politics for many years. However, the majority of you are not seasoned, you are rude, and need to rethink your attitude towards your fellow Democrats, and just who are you to be, publicly, so utterly tasteless in your commentary about a former Democratic President and First Lady. I wish Senator Obama had a full term served in the U.S. Senate. I wish he had some leadership experience in key committee assignments in the Senate. Senator Obama will need the support of all Democrates to win. It is time to cool the rhetoric.

I interpret Bill Clinton’s ambiguous comments as a tacit acknowledgment that Obama will soon be recognized as the nominee, and that Hillary will support his candidacy as she has promised – how vigorously remains to be seen. In particular, his words were more conciliatory than belligerent, and by mentioning that Hillary would “accept” the will of the Democrats, he restated her position on Michigan/Florida but at the same time used a term that generally accompanies a concession to a result that is likely to emerge. Ambiguous to be sure, but with much latitude to concede the nomination to Obama.

Thanks to the Democrats for rescuing us conservative voters from an almost certain defeat in the next election.
If you had not fallen victim to your almost certain incestuous in-fighting, you probably would have won the White House since so many voters are angry with President Bush and his Right wing religious fanatics. However, true to form, by trying to serve too many docrine masters, you serve none.
Rock on McCain. 2 years of a Democratic controlled Congress with only worsening conditions to show for it, is a good preamble of what they would do in the White House. We have nothing to fear from this group. They are still fighting over Gore’s failure.

“Hillary is a MONSTER!” Her and her husband conveniently ignored the Rwandan Genocide while in office. They will continue to ignore Darfur. And America will continue to deny the veracity of the Armenian Genocide to appease Turks, who provide profit to the American military industrial complex by waging the newly begun genocide against the Kurds (which mainstream media is conveniently ignoring).
We need to take back America from these monsters who do nothing but appease special interests and the profits garnered in the military industrial complex. Foreign governments have sent Trojan horses in every inch of the beaurocracy, and through cover of business are controlling our destiny as a people.

Those people who said Dubya had experience as a governor work yanking your chain. They didn’t tell you how the Texas Constitution works, nor would you have listened if they had. In fact some of us tried to get through, but as with Obama, everyone’s eyes were glazed over and they could only hear what they wanted to hear.
The Governor in Texas has no real power. Here in Texas it is the Lieutenant Governor and the Speaker of the House that wields the power. The governor is window dressing not terribly different from the Queen of England.
Dubya had no administrative or legislative experience as Governor of Texas. Maybe you should have listened to those of us who knew that, or done a little research for yourself.
Every state has their own Constitution and some are very different from each other, just as state laws can differ from each other considerably.
You might want to file that info for the future so you can do some research on someone before the tune their piping takes over your brain.

The Clintons clearly want to cause a big ruckus so that they can claim the Dems have wronged them giving them a pretext to bolt the party and run as independents. I started out as a supporter of hers and so did my 6 year old grandson. But one day when I saw my grandson who lives in another city, I asked him if he still supported Hillary and he said no he was now for Obama. When I asked him why he matter of factly states “She cheats”. Need I say more.

In 4 days, everyone will have got to vote. But it will still be hard to agree on HOW everyone’s vote should be counted. Florida & Michigan’s vote will be counted in announced totals, maybe not in official Democratic party results. So lets see what happens.

(cont.) This is why we must choose Obama. We need to send a message to the world that yes indeed, genocide is the most heinous crime of all in humanity. And that whether it is economically or militarily inconvenient for us today, we will speak out against it loudly, so that we ourselves do not fall victim to genocidal forces in the future.

Thats a good one. Obama was not on the ticket in Michigan so he shouldn’t get any delegates. How low you Clinton scum will go. You cry for fair play, but only fo Clinton. Obama follows the DNC rules and he should get screwed for it. Your going to sit there and tell me, that Obama is going to lose the whole state of Michigan in the good old US OF A because he followed the rules. Why didn’t you just declare Hillary president without a nominating process. Better yet. Why don’t you move to Russia where you can get a president hand picked by the last one. Then you don’t have to worry about the rules. Clinton Nutjobs!

–Spyglass–
That would be so cool. This has already been a great year for political junkies, following the campaigns for all the candidates, both Dems and Reps.
But Hillary going independent would truly make it historic. And add Ron Paul in the final candidate mix and I will wet my shorts.

There is two issues here. 1) Selecting a nominee of the Democrats and 2)seating delegates from the two renegade states. This differentiation is important. Finish the election first by electing the nominee who won the most delegates from the rule-abiding states. In August think about seating every one in any order. The nominee was selected already 3 months ago.

If both O. and C. said their differences were small compared to Republican’s, then I suggest to go with O. and C. ticket to win the Whitehouse. Then you just give O. a certain time to do his way, if it doesn’t work, let C. does hers. Am I too naive?

Does anyone know WHY John Edwards, Obama, et al, REMOVED their names from the Michigan primary ballot but Clinton DID NOT?
That seems to be an important factor in the logic that would be needed to make a decision on what to do with the Michigan votes now.

Posted by: Iron Man | May 31, 2008, 1:27 pm 1:27 pm

O and C ticket is the only hope the Democrats have. Policy differences are small between these two. But I no longer feel like Obama can be President of all of the people. If it’s not O & C, I’m voting for Mc.

All I know is that the dems don’t pick winners. Hillary had the best chance the DNC chose Obama.
I am now backing McCain because he leans more toward the center than left wing radical Obama.
May the DNC be forever broke, because they sure can’t back the winners!

Posted by: Julie | May 31, 2008, 1:30 pm 1:30 pm

Iron Man, Florida insisted that candidates leave their names on the ballot. Michigan didn’t demand or ask or suggest that candidates should take their names off. But those who took their names off were beneficiaries of an UNCOMMITTED CAMPAIGN that did run commericals, in effect, campaigned to let people of Michigan know if they didn’t see their candidate on the ballot, to vote Uncommitted. Those are real votes, and no one would suggest that they shouldn’t go to Barack Obama. However, Hillary Clinton won 73 delegates and Obama 55, and that’s how they should be allocated.

Obama and Hilliary VS. McCain and Rice.
OR
Obama and Richardson VS. McCain and Powell.
Now that would be an interesting election!

Posted by: Will | May 31, 2008, 1:32 pm 1:32 pm

Hillary and Obama are close to 95% alike on the critical issues. They have relatively small differences in how they would implement their strategies.
McCain represents something entirely different. A very different supreme court, whose members are appointed for life terms – far beyond the 2012 election. A very different outlook on healthcare and education. A very different outlook on the war in Iraq, and potentially Iran. A very different foreign policy. A very different economic outlook – gas tax notwithstanding.
Before either Obama or Clinton supporters take the tantrum route and vote McCain, you have to consider the future impact.
As an Independent voter, I may have a wish to vote a preferred 3rd party candidate, or write in Democrat that is not the party’s nominee, that only moves the election to McCain’s side. If he succeeds, we will live in a very different America than under either Clinton or Obama.

“Hillary’s position has always been that if everybody gets to vote, and everybody’s vote is counted, she would accept the will of the Democrats”
This is simply not true. Hillary had no problem with canceling Michigan and Florida’s delegations back when it was decided, and when she was campaigning in early-voting states (Iowa and NH) that might have voted against her for speaking out in favor of Florida and Michigan. Her position changed as soon as (a) she knew that she was going to win both, and (b) she realized that she might actually need both to stay competitive in the nomination.

Obama broke the rules campaigning in Florida by running a national tv ad that stopped running there the day of the primary. Obama took his name off of Michigan when he knew he was losing the state; nobody forced him to do this. A few months ago,Gov. Rendell and James Carville offered to raise money to pay for a second primary in both Florida and Michigan. The DNC agreed to this as long as both of the candidates agreed;Clinton agreed -Obama did not. Preventing votes from counting is nothing new to Obama;when he was in Illinois he also contested the votes of American citizens. The DNC should count every vote as a vote and seat the entire delegation.

How can people in here really believe Obama hates America? You guys need to stop listening to Fox News and listen to the man himself. Stop going off of hear say or someone’s email that say bad things about him. In just a few months I have heard the same people first say he was a secret muslim, then say he is christian linking him to his pastor, then saying he hates the country or is a racist. OBAMA is HALF WHITE AND HALF BLACK he was raised by two white women. How is he going to be racist against himself and his family? Why would he run for office if he hates the country so much? People need to stop talking about what they think he is and take him as he is. You want to know what he thinks about race in america? He gave an excellant speech on the topic where you can hear exactly what he thinks. But I guess it makes more sense to assume that he thinks the same as a guy who lives in his neighborhood who donated 100$ to his campaign (the weathermen guy) than to actually LISTEN to what he is saying. Also, its easy to paint his supporters as drinking the crazy koolaid without taking a critical look at how clinton has changed position on nearly everything in this campaign to try to gather more votes. There may be a split in the party but if so its only because some of us are clinging to politics of the past (Hillary’s say anything to get elected change positions every 5 minutes to whatever benefits her the most) vs. trying to move onto to something different. Im not naive enough to think Barrack will completely erase the filth of washington but I also think that we are in DESPERATE need of a change in leadership and direction and McCain and Clinton cannot offer that.

Hillary should run as an independent.
This way, she can get a small majority of white women. McCain will get the vast majority of white men, and Obama will get the young, the rich (and educated), and the blacks. And Obama would win.
Democracy is about tenacity, its about playing by the rules. What Clinton is doing is fundamentally undemocratic, even as she pretends its the opposite.

WHY OBAMA STAYED WITH WRIGHT
Obama attended Wright’s “church” for 20 years. The possible reason?
1. He tolerates racism against whites.
2. He used racism to advance himself.
3. Like Wright, he too is a racist and/or anti American.
4. He is dumb.
Anyone know another reason?
Also, re Rezko, Ayers, Wright, Pfleger, note that birds of a feather flock together.

I advise every other race to attend college to see just how ordinary and below par White Americans perform. For example, Hannity is a college dropout who somehow managed to land a lucrative job and then speaks lowly of Obama and other African-Americans. Hannity only has a high school diploma! Gazam!
Just like George Bush, White Americans are C- students who are legends in their own minds.

we will not let a few loud mouths hi-jack and control the democrat’s selection for our presidential nominee.
clinton and her supporters’ argument/threat is flawed on several points.
1st, a combined group of voters which includes all the subgroups voted for obama. that may mean that just like current demographics are changing the electoral map, the groups that support the democratic party may be changing, too.
2nd, you assume that everyone in the old statistically democratic voter groups will vote the same way in the general. won’t happen because the issues are weighted by each voter according to our own needs.
3rd, michigan and florida cannot be afforded the final say on who democrats select as the nominee because they are the two states that broke the rules — each attempting to play the power game. trying to achieve more clout while discounting/suppressing the vote of others (states) is exactly why michigan and florida are in the boat they’re in now.
hillary clinton’s supporters put womanhood above all other fair principles. they actually seem to believe that women, because of previous suffrages, are above all others versus equal to all others. i am a woman, so i feel their position is crazy. it is like a mother with a son and a daughter not loving both equally. democracy is not about who’s pushier, who can out-shout the loudest or who can be the most vindictive. it is about a collective unity on issues that matter to the whole group — the group as a whole.
democracy embraces ALL in a FAIR and balanced way. play by the RULES and we’ll all get along and we’ll all move forward!
unless you are saying that the demographics of florida and michigan voters is peculiar (as it is in wv and ky), then the group, taken as a whole, doesn’t gain or lose anything by not counting florida’s and michigan’s votes cast in their state’s non-elections. the issue is the rules, and the rules alone.
48 states followed the rules and chose obama as the democratic nominee. at this juncture, well over 17 million people voted FOR obama.
the democratic majority wants a change — a change that isn’t motivated by vindictiveness that will achieve nothing. changing the rules and accepting michigan and florida’s votes will not change the outcome of the democratic choice for our presidential nominee. it would, however, give the republicans more fodder to defeat obama in the general election. again, obama DID NOT MAKE THE RULES.
operation chaos was lost by the republicans today and the democrats won. we should all be proud of that.
obama ’08! YES WE CAN (AND WE WILL)!

Junita asked: “Do most of the responders do so at work? It is against our internet use policy at work to do that. Just interested in other companies plans.”
Mine has a policy that allows it, if it is somehow job related. That seems to be the norm.

Every Vote Should Count.
Obama took his name off ballot because of his usual bad judgement.
Hillary for the general election or defect to McCain.
Time to swing into action! Lets roll!

Obama/Clinton? Who could put up with her and Bill being around all the time? Obama would have to send her off on trips all the time, just to get some peace without backstabbers around all the time. Obama/Richardson or Obama/Rendell would be good. The President needs someone to watch his back, not stab his back.

I find the Democrats amazing. The Clintons were the stars of the party, or at least that was what was protrayed. Now, they are ousted. That is just what they did to Joe Lieberman. Lieberman was on the Dems ticket as V.P., and then they ousted him. He ran as an Independent and won. That’s exactly what Hillary should do.

I think you should be a registered Democrat to blog about a dem. subject. All these hateful blogs on here are repub inserting crap to encourage hard feeling against each other in our party. This crap about “if not Hill than McSame” doesn’t even make sense. Our country is falling apart under the repub “trickle down effect”policies, our military is being killed and mained because of a lies to get us into war and someone inserted CPowell name as VP–he sold this lie to the rest of the world for Bush. Please people, educated yourselves about whats going on. I supported Hill & Bill for years, even thru their worst days but she did vote for this war and didn’t even read the doc. she signed. Vote for Obama for a new direction.

You can tell the mentality of the voters for Obama especially when they admit to voting for Bush Jr.
I wonder how many democrats voted for Bush Jr. and are now voting for Obama? I get the feeling a lot!
And now these very same people are saying don’t vote for McCain…ironic. Well I guess I won’t be listening to them, especially after knowing that!
Take your party unity stuff and put it were the sun don’t shine. If you think that was a terrible thing to say well to bad!
What happen today with the cheers and jeers is what the Democratic Party is all about. Anybody who is an elder (and I do mean elder) democrat knows what I am talking about. How the Obama people act is like Republicans act.
Well I am not a docile person, I take my politics seriously, I think of country before party and that it was not right what they did to those 2 states. You don’t punish the candidates and voters. It is an issue between the State Reps. and the party.
It doesn’t ceased to amaze me about some remarks about Bill that some people say. For a bad president why did he get elected to the second term. Jimmy Carter was bad and he didn’t get elected to the second term.
So as far as Bill Clinton is concerned he was the greatest Democratic President that has happen in the last 40 yrs.

“Hillary’s position has always been that if everybody gets to vote, and everybody’s vote is counted, she would accept the will of the Democrats and those who are legally eligible to participate in that process, that we would unify this party united do our best to win in November,” added Clinton, before moving on to other topics.
So I guess that means that Hillary agrees that the Popular Vote in
Puerto Rico should not be added to either candidates totals since their
citizens are Not Eligible to participate
in the General Election! I Agree!

Posted by: reaganfan | May 31, 2008, 8:23 pm 8:23 pm

Bottom line. Hillary Clinton ran a terrible campaign. She is now over $20 million in debt and had to replace many top aids and restructure her message and focus multiple times before she decided to become the Norma Rae of the poor white uneducated hardworking people.
Do we really trust someone to run the country who is in a constant state of denial? Isn’t that what George Bush has done? If she can’t run a campaign, I don’t trust her with the country! Obama has out smarted her in every way in running a successful drama free campaign, based on 50 states, no drama and thoughtful planning. That is how I want the country run. No DRAMA vote Obama!

Posted by: Debra | May 31, 2008, 8:34 pm 8:34 pm

Wrong.
Bottom line. Hillary ran a terrible campagin. But it doesnt change the facts.
She won every major primary except Obamas home state. That now INCLUDES Florida and Michigan.
She won the popular vote.
This is going to be the first time in HISTORY where the party insiders (superdelegates) nominated the guy who LOST the popular vote and all the major primaires.
That has NEVER happened before.
Just so you fools misunderstand.
-by winner take all Hillary wins
-by electorial vote, Hillary wins
-by major primaries , Hillary wins
-by popular vote , Hillary wins
General election state my state matchup, Hillary does noticably better than Obama against Mc Cain.
Obama has more delegates. 1.5 % more.
thats it????? He has 1.5% more delegates???????
CAN ANYONE SAY INSIDE JOB???

Hillary Clinton is obsessed. There’s something bad wrong with that woman, and anybody that thinks that she will work for them or that she wants their votes to count, sure she wants your votes to count, but only if you are voting for her.If you think she cares for you, you are mistaken.

Well, since delegates decide the nomination, it’s kinda a big deal.
And will Clinton supporters really support a guy with a 0% rating from NARAL, over one with a 100% rating from NARAL?

Posted by: Dem | May 31, 2008, 9:13 pm 9:13 pm

Obama is obviously the best choice, the most trustworthy, the most moral, the one who will be color blind and fair.
How can you people not see that. I saw a movie once…and the guy told the jury to close their eyes. he told them a story about a crime against a lil. black girl, then he told them to imagine that she was white.

Posted by: jtrace81 | May 31, 2008, 9:29 pm 9:29 pm

The weird apportionment of delegates which the Democratic party came up with does not extend to the general election. Øbama’s wins are hollow in those terms…good tactic, poor long-term strategy.
Hopefully, the superdelegates who must be aware of this aren’t afraid to pick the best candidate for the nomination.

It would be great if people understood what really happened in MI and FL instead of just regurgitating what they read on the internet.
The Democratic candidates signed a pledge to “not campaign or participate” in these states. NOT PARTICIPATE. Define participate and see if Hillary leaving her name on the ballot violated her pledge to the early-vote states. She did this in a calculated move, while 4 other Democratic candidates stuck by their pledge and REMOVED THEIR NAMES. Michigan congressional leaders had a chance to restore all 8 names to the ballot but did dropped the ball.
HRC was talking out one side of her mouth to the early-vote states, to try to secure their votes, while at the same time violating the pledge she took to support their status by leaving her name on the MI ballot – clearly violating the “not participating” part of that pledge. 1) She has clearly not “always” supported everyone having a vote, or she would have refused to sign that pledge in the first place. 2) She proves how manipulating and untrustworthy she is by violating that pledge by continuing to participate in MI’s primary.
Now, by seating half the delegation, the DNC has proven they are as untrustworthy as a whole as some of their candidates are individually, by establishing rules and setting penalties then kowtowing and reneging on that penalty. Kind of like a parent who punishes a child for bad behavior then not backing it up with real action, the DNC is no better than a bad parent who lets their unruly child run wild and abuse that parent’s authority. You think this has been a mess in 2008? Wait until 2012 when more states see there will be talk but no action in punishing states who don’t follow the rules.

One thing that really bothers me about this conversation is the comment that Obama didn’t have to take his name off the ballot in Michigan. His party leaders told him the Michigan votes would not be counted, and he took them at their word. He has been betrayed by his party leadership so they could cave in to Clinton’s cries and moans and groans and rants and raves about disenfranchisement – she didn’t think the voters would be disenfranchised when she signed off on the rule saying their delegates wouldn’t be seated. Doesn’t anyone on this forum see that Hillary believes she’s above the rules, that she can change the rules to suit her desires and needs? Does anyone believe anything she has to say anymore? Does anyone trust her or believe she’s capable of getting us out of the hole Bush has dug for us? Anyone? If so… why? Don’t bash Obama or McCain… just tell me WHY you would vote for a person – man or woman – who changes his/her mind as if it were a pair of socks, who makes up his/her own rules as s/he goes along, and who has no more experience than the other candidate?

Posted by: Kaelinda | June 1, 2008, 2:59 am 2:59 am

Uh!! DNC created this mess and neither Obama or Clinton for that matter had directly objected to the rule. Now Clinton wants to portray itself as someone that is protecting voters? Give me a break any 6th grade can see through this one. The compromise that was actived by DNC is not perfect but is the closest thing to a fair settlement. I for one want to see the laws repected again in this country. For the record I don’t support neither candidate and I wish that at least one candidate would look for what is best for the nation as whole. We face to many problems and these candidates including Mccain a shadow of leaders that we need.

Dear Democrats, — Why is Hillary working for the Republicans? — Why are so many of you clamoring to get her into office no matter what the cost to our country? — Why do you not notice that she has changed her posture at every turn, and is treating you dishonestly, for her own benefit? — Why has she tried to destroy all the dignity of our electoral process? — Why are you helping her do this?

There goes ole William Jefferson with that renowned “double talk” routine he uses instead of truth or logic. This is the man whose long range thinking only carries him through the next set of demands from his one-eyed trouser snake. To the point of his comment about an unusual ending to the nominating process: judging by the comments from the Clinton camp and the facts as we now know them, the unusual ending will see Hillary and William Jefferson denouncing the democratic party, registering as republicans and begging McCain to let Hillary be his VP.

#1my eyes were not on the so-called priest at bho’s church -but on the menber of the chiir or people standing around him They were all cheering and clapping and agreeing with him;why are the churches being used as political rallies – so much for seperation of church and state. i think they shoul lose tax-free status;and i will also bet obama family re-joins church, the ties are too long and too close, ITHINK HE ENJOYS HEARING THAT AND HAS AGREED WITH IT FOR A VERY LONG TIME.also, i dont think he has really gotten into any real issues and how to solve our national problems;as far as John mc Cain goes -I would have voted for him 8yrs ago ,but he is a drop =out coward who probably got a promise from bush to wait his turn ; now accepts his endorsement.and colin powell is a coward too, he knew the lies as did mclellan.give me a JIM WEBB ANY TIME OVER THEM ALL; GOD BLESS AND HELP AMERICA,WE THE PEOPLE NEED IT.

I for one will just be glad when this is all over. I’ve never witnessed America so polarized, segregated all over again and hate filled along the racial lines since protesters against integration erupted in the south and the race riots of the early 1920s, ’30s and beyond. Will that happen again? America is a sad place these days and has become the laughing stock of other nations with its hypocrisy and double standards. Since America is the country always promoting tolerance, when there’s so much intolerance in America.

What is wrong with some of you people. What are we fighting for- I’m fighting for equal wages, fair and equal standards that can be applied the same way for everyone- Hillary is not the enemy, but nor is Obama.
Hillary has run a horrible campaign and if you people think she cares anything about you, you are sadly mistaken. FL and MI is their own fault- They chose not to follow the rules for whatever reason and were punished. So what?
At the time that they voted it was basically a straw poll- those people who came out to vote- knew that the votes were not going to be counted towards the election. Period.
And honestly most of the people who may have turned out, didn’t because I WASN’T GOING TO COUNT. Period and changing the rules in the end of anything- game, election, sports is wrong.
So I’m fighting for reality and truth. Hillary said time and time again that it wasn’t going to count and when she started losing now all of a sudden she’s fighting for the people’s votes.
Well let me say one more thing- this whole white, working class crap- Obama does have white, workers voting for him- because blacks are 16% of the population and if it were just them he would have lost a long time ago. And here one more point- whatever system we have in this country IS NOT WORKING.
So now it’s time to try something new. Let’s all work together to create a new- better world for all of our children. Please they deserve better education, better options for schools, colleges and jobs.

I would hope next time anyone (such as Hillary) is asked to sign papers regarding some going to primaries earlier they suppost to , they won’t complain when they are not winning the elections. Even if the states went to primaries they knew they would be penalized and shouldn’t grip about the outcome. PAY ATTENTION TO PARTY RULES.

54.) My Donations Have Been Checked Thoroughly – LIAR, you only gave back Hsu ($72K) and Rezko (first $66K, then when caught lying $86K, then when caught lying again $150K and now caught lying YET AGAIN OBAMA, it’s $250k) their money when publically called on their involvement in your campaigns.

56.) I Disagree With My Church All The Time – LIAR, you still have yet to repudiate Wright, who married you and your wife, and you still donate large sums of money to assist the church in furthering its message – hatred and revenge. You donated in 2006 alone, $22,500 to the church that you so terribly disagree with. That is nearly $500 PER WEEK – that sure is disagreement, Senator Obama.
57.) I Have Clean Connections Despite Rezko – LIAR, you are not only connected to Exelon and Rezko, you are also connected to Hillary PAC supporter Mr. Hsu, AND an Iraqi Billionaire of ill repute, Nadhmi Auchi, who ripped off people in the Food For Oil, Iraqi deal. Seems Mr. Auchi may have helped Obama buy his million dollar property long before Obama had millions of dollars. Wonder what favors Mr. Auchi expects, when Obama leaves Iraq free to be taken over by special interests such as him.
58.) I never heard sermons like Rev. Wright’s, that have been in videos all day, You Tube – LIAR! 3 days later during your Mea Culpa BS speech you said “Did I hear controversial statements while I sat in that church? Yes I did.”
59.) The Passport Invasion is a conspiracy to find dirt on me! – LIAR. Your own Campaign Foreign Policy Advisor is the CEO of the company that looked into your records. PS – You had them look into yours to hide the fact you looked into Clinton’s and McCain’s more than a year before!
60.) Rev. Meeks has nothing to do with my campaigning – LIAR. Rev. Meeks appeared in ads for your Senate Campaign, donated to you, and helped raise money, then AND NOW. PS – He also seems to despise America.
61.) My wife didn’t mean America is ignorant, she was just using a phrase – LIAR. Again, MicHELLe’s comments perfectly sync with Wright’s, Meeks’, and Farrakhans, both in language, anger, and direction.
62.) I am very Anti-Terror – LIAR. [03/30/2008] One of your good pals is long time radical and terrorist William Ayers, with whom you have been seen in the last 12 months and who has helped the now jailed khalidi, Professor at Columbia who invited Ahmadinejad to the University, to raise money for Palestinian terrorism attacks against Israel. PS – Your church published a pro Hamas Manifesto – guess you weren’t there on THAT Sunday either? How lucky for you.
63.) I have the best plan to cure the Mortgage Crisis – LIAR. [03/30/2008] You and your campaign buddy Penny SubPrime Bank Collapse Prizker have had your little fingers full of subprime cash – Obama has taken $1,180,103 from the top issuers of subprime loans: Obama received $266,907 from Lehman, $5395 from GMAC, $150,850 from Credit Suisse First Boston, $11,250 from Countrywide, $9052 from Washington Mutual, $161,850 from Citigroup, $4600 from CBASS, $170,050 from Morgan Stanley, $1150 from Centex, and last but certainly NOT LEAST – Obama received $351,900 from Goldman Sachs. I am sure that cash all came from folks who knew the subprime loan they had was a dream, eh?
64) I played greater role in crafting liberal stands on gun control, the death penalty and abortion – LIAR – [03/31/2008] It was found that Obama – the day after sitting for the interview – filed an amended version of the questionnaire, which appears to contain Obama’s own handwritten notes added to one answer. Read Obama had greater role on liberal survey
65) I did NOT play the race card: – LIAR – [03/31/2008] Obama was the first to play the race card. According to Phialdelphia Inquirer, Quietly, the storm over the hateful views expressed by Sen. Barack Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, has blown away the most insidious myth of the Democratic primary campaign. Obama and his surrogates have charged that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has deliberately and cleverly played the race card in order to label Obama the “black” candidate. Read more here
66) I did not take money from oil companies: – LIAR – [03/31/2008]
THE FACTS: True enough, Obama does not take money from oil companies. No candidate does. It is illegal for corporations to give money to politicians.
Corporations, however, do have political action committees that collect voluntary donations from employees and then donate them to candidates.
Obama doesn’t take money from PACs. He also doesn’t take money from lobbyists.
But he does accept money from executives and other employees of oil companies and two of his fundraisers are oil company executives. As of Feb. 29, Obama’s presidential campaign had received nearly $214,000 from oil and gas industry employees and their families, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.
Clinton had received nearly $307,000 from industry workers and their families and Republican Sen. John McCain, the likely GOP presidential nominee, received nearly $394,000, according to the center’s totals.
Two of Obama’s fundraisers are Robert Cavnar, the chairman and chief executive of Houston-based Mission Resources Corp., and George Kaiser, the president and CEO of Tulsa-based Kaiser-Francis Oil Co. Source: Associated press via Yahoo News
67) “I don’t think my church is actually particularly controversial,” Obama said at a community meeting in Nelsonville, Ohio, earlier this month. – LIAR – But yesterday, he told a different story. “Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes,” he said in his speech yesterday in Philadelphia.
68) Look at my education record in Illinois – LIAR – In reality, Obama never really championed the local councils. He supported them behind the scenes and only eventually came out publicly on their behalf. When he did weigh in, he came down on the wrong side of the debate-against protecting principals from unwarranted dismissals and in favor of keeping councils independent, no matter what.
In the end, the resolution of the conflict between the two sides didn’t alleviate anyone’s concerns. Instead, it prolonged a turf battle that seems to have dragged down academic progress in the years since.
Much more so than we might believe.
1. Reports emanating from Africa allege his mother was in Kenya with his ARAB Kenyan (NOT Black Kenyan) father – this is clearly shown in Kenyan Govt. Registry documents which list the father as an Arab Kenyan – at a very late term of her pregnancy and was not allowed on a flight to return to HAWAII.
She gave birth to him in Kenya, immediately got on a plane and then registered him as being born in Hawaii.
2. He is NOT an African American at all but an Arab American and cannot claim African minority status, which by US Federal regulations require a person to have 1/8 (one eighth) of the minority blood (12%).
From his mother he has 50% white blood, from his father he has 43.25% Arab BLOOD and from his MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER he manages to hold onto 6.75% African or Black heritage blood.

Hillary has a “Bandwagon” issue, she had jumped on every one of them that came around. Hillary is not a leader but a follower. She has no integrity, when you make a decision you stand by it know matter how the winds blow. Now women really crazy to think that she is the best canidate, she is actually the worst canidate.
The DNC did a good job at solving the Florida and Michigan delima.
Obama knows he has some questionable individuals in his past that may/ or may not help him. I would think that if you know “questionable” people and get their point of view it helps with solving the root of an issue. I guess that is too much like common sense.
We are all hard working Americans. I did not agree with Sen. Clinton’s view. Now she just maligned every ethic group, religous group, far left, far right, radicals, conservatives, moderates and independants. To say “that only the stupid white, poor, broken down elderly white people will support me.”
Operation Chaos did not work but it will work against the Republican Party in the Fall. Republicans are really gonna get it again.
John McCain, is gonna be the “whipping boy” for the Republicans in this years election. I dont feel sorry for any of the canidates because they have made their own beds.
We are in a war that we cannot afford. I feel as if President Bush was begging for more oil when he had the power to Veto the natural resource bill.
John McCain wants to follow this when we should be taking the stance of former President Reagan. “Trickle down”,”Reaganomics” didnt work but oil was cheap.
If Mr. Obama would actually start drilling for oil for National Security purposes and create a stategic fuel supply would actually help us lower gas and fuel costs until we had more readily supply of alternative fuels.
OBAMA 08
WE NEED A NEW DIRECTION WHERE THE WORLD IS TALKING TO EACH OTHER NOT DOING THE BUSH BS OF IGNORING OTHER COUNTRIES BECAUSE YOU DONT LIKE THE METHODOLOGY OF GETTING YOUR ATTENTION.
Everyone is not going to be happy but we are talking instead of blowing each other up.
