Closing Arguments: Should Clinton Stay or Go?
Hillary Clinton had a big win in yesterday’s Puerto Rico primary, and there are two fights left — tomorrow’s primaries in Montana and South Dakota.
But rumors are swirling that Clinton is dropping out of the race. While campaigning in South Dakota, her husband remarked that “This may be the last day I’m ever involved in a campaign like this.” The Clinton campaign says that she won’t concede.
What do you think? Even if she does well tomorrow, is that reason enough for Clinton to stay in the race? Or should she drop out and concede to Barack Obama?
Take a look back at the Clinton campaign here

Never give up!
She has the right to stay!
She has with stood more than the other Candidates and going strong, kudos to her.
She is Strong, Determined and for the people.
She would beat McCain. She would Defend and Protect this nation. She will be for all citizens.
Hillary is not Quitter.

Why go now? She’s won more votes, taking all of Barack’s supposed strongholds, leading in the GE polls, looking to pull off at least one upset tomorrow. Take it all the way. We’re not going to let the Rules and Bylaws Committe hijack this election. And frankly, Barack is tanking. He hid his past as best as he could but it’s all coming to light now.
Besides, Hillary will make the best POTUS this country has seen in decades.

I dont think she should totally pull out, but rather suspend her campaign. Anything can happen in this crazy election and if she just suspends it, it can be revived at any time. She has fought one heck of a race, but she does need to step aside now in order to solidify her own political future and unite the party. I wish it were the other way around, but again it aint over until August.

There is nothing ABC news can do to stop Sen. Clinton from becoming President. About three years ago a well known televangelist, Perry Stone Jr., told his congregation that God spoke to him and said Sen. Clinton will be the next President. This information can be obtained from one of his published works on CD entitled “Strange Patterns of Recent American Presidents.” On track 7 of this CD, he tells us that Sen. Clinton will once again be in the White House. So give it up ABC News. And Barack, your days are numbered.

Since the popular vote metric is mostly Hillary’s invention and is not exactly measurable, and that’s her only sticking point, she should fold and quietly go home and get some much needed rest.

The black pro-self-rule and Third World Nationalists are running the Democratic Party they are acting that like they are in Zimbabwe not America. The Democratic Party over the weekend showed for the first time that Democracy has failed by the impact of stealing votes away from voters and awarding them to Obama. They decided the intent of the voters! And that’s okay. Everyone in the room should have just gotten up and walked out but they didn’t, maybe because most do not realize the impact of what just happened. A lady called Harriet Christian did speak up and she was appalled and was escorted from the room. She probably was the only real American left in the room. So you lower the bar on Tuesday, so that Obama can reach the nomination, you give him extra delegates and you tell the woman it’s time to call it a day even though she has received more votes throughout the country. And, you let this third world interest in our country take over without even looking into what is happening. McCain will win by a landslide because you’ve not only lost the 17 million voters but another group—those that love America.

To Obama’s credit, he successfully gamed the bizarre Dem primary system to his advantage (with a huge assist from the media). Unfortunately for him, the general election is a straight up and down popular vote and a winner-take-all electoral college. Hillary has as much right to claim the popular vote win as he does and she has a decisive win in the electoral college. There’s nothing to hide behind in a general election. Best of luck Barack.

Obviously, if Hillary Clinton wins in Montana and/or South Dakota she should stay in the race and fight.
However, as a supporter (philosophically and monetarily) of Hillary Clinton, I can honestly say that once the nomination is settled, it means I don’t have to listen to political rhetoric and campaign speeches.
If it turns into an “Obamanation”, as Howard Dean and his buddies are dictating, my wife and I will be voting for McCain, and there will be no further need to listen to endless arguments.
If nothing else, this campaign has been extremely tiresome. The Democrats had a shoe-in victory in November with Hillary Clinton, but they’ve thrown it all away.
A possible positive side-effect of McCain’s election would be for Democrats to close the Star Chamber as it is presently configured.

She should stay til the convention if that is what she wants to do. She has been pressured to get out since Iowa, it has been ridiculous. The press and her supposed fellow Democratic backstabbing friends have been salivating like wolves trying to get her to drop out. I’m sure they wished she would have earlier so maybe all of the Wright/Ayres stuff wouldn’t have come up so early. She is still the best qualified candidate, then McCain. Obama has a lot to learn yet before he’s ready for the toughest job in the world, and he and his campaign staff need to learn the word ‘humility’ if they want to beat McCain.

Obama’a patronizing statements to and about Hillary Clinton are enough to gag a maggot.
He’s been claiming victory for almost as long as Howard Dean and his committee of power brokers has been demanding Hillary’s resignation.
As you pointed out, Hillary has been back-stabbed and trampled by Democrats in their stampede to turn the November election over to Old Man McCain.

Clinton will most likely suspend her campaign tomorrow, and then wait for the tape coming out in October.

I would like to see Hillary stay the course and wait until the convention is over and she is declared the winner – not only by popular vote but by common sense. She and her family have given this campaign their all. She has campaigned in all states – whether she was ‘projected’ to win or not. That can not be said for another candidate who will go unmentioned. I am thoroughly disgusted with the way this campaign has been waged. Their does not seem to have been any media respect for Hillary and her campaign. There is not a news network that you put on or a paper that you read that does not portray Mr. Obama as the Democratic candidate even though he has not been given that honor. IF (as it has been stated by these same news programs and newspapers) Mr. Obama does get the Democratic nod my family (my extended family) and I will be voting for Mr. McCain unless Hillary is put on the ticket as a candidate for another party.

John… If there were such a tape as you describe, it would have already been posted on a Website. NOTHING is “secret” these days; there are “leaks” everywhere.
Besides, if it turns into an Obamanation, the Republicans won’t have to work very hard to elect McCain. If Hillary somehow gets the nomination in defiance of the DNC dictators, McCain will have a very difficult time.

oldgaman asks: “Why is it an article like this shows up on the eve of every primary?”
Duh… is it maybe because the news media have been “in bed with” the DNC from the get-go?
Hillary should continue to defy “orders from above” and stay in the race. The more the public learns about Obama, the better Hillary looks!

Well since Howard Dean has finally come forward to now admit Hillary was recieving way more than her fair share of sexist remarks I think she should stay in the race. Frankly thats the only prayer the Democrats have of winning the White House in November. There is a gathering storm thats going to decend upon the democratic Party for the mistreatment of Hillary Clinton in this race by mysogny boys in the media. I’ll give charlie Gibson a pass because I never heard him say an unkind word concerning Hillary. There are women uniting all over this country as I write this getting ready to leave the Democratic Party. They feel as though the Democrats have handed this election to Obama which they have and we are not happy about it. I have been a life long democrat and if Hillary is denied I’m not voting Democrat ever again. which means i’ll vote for John McCain in the GE.

She should stay and here’s why. The DNC gives delegates away. They gave Barack a whole boatload on Saturday. So me and a few hundred of my friends have been calling the DNC to request our free delegates too. They’re not too happy about it, but if we keep calling, maybe they will relent and give us Hillary supporters some free delegates too. Then we can catch up. Please call the DNC! Get your free delegates! Insist on it.
Did you realize that had this election been fairly counted, Hillary would be within 26.5 delegates? That’s right, and would maybe catch up tomorrow.

Go? go where? she is a democrat and will stay a democrat. Many candidates lose but it doesnot mean that it is the end. She has to stay and play the role she dedicated her life for. politic is an ugly game but not a war. At the same time it is wrong to put her lose on obama, or DNC or sexism. she simply conducted a campain that failed to attract the number or people or delegates she need to get the nomination.

Stay in. It isn’t over until the first round of the convention. If the pledge delegates were the only delegates, then it would be a lost cause, but the way the Super delegates have moved around, until they cast their vote on the floor, it isn’t over.

I am really upset that Cynthia McFadden stated that Hillary was the most viable female in history that ran for President. Did she forget Shirley Anita St. Hill Chisholm (November 30, 1924 – January 1, 2005) was an American politician, educator and author [1]. She was a Congresswoman, representing New York’s 12th District for seven terms from 1969 to 1983. In 1968, she became the first African-American woman elected to Congress. On January 23, 1972, she became the first major party African-American candidate for President of the United States. She won 152 delegates.[2], [3] Other women who ran for President of the United States in 1972 include Linda Jenness and Evelyn Reed.
I must let you know that as a reporter of her stature her words were a disgrace to a race of Black women and to especially a misrepresentation of American History.
Mrs Clinton is in the race and is a viable candidate. Sen. Clinton is not just the most viable woman. She is just in the right part of American history, and Mrs. Chisholm was right in her history making also. Ms. McFadden should make a retraction to her statement. I think she was rude and one sided in her opinion.
Sincerely,
Marguerite

It’s time for Hillary TO GO!!!!! She’s done enough damage to the Democratic Party for about 10 election cycles. Let’s see, she’s race-baited Obama, invoked his possible assassination, crowed that she’s won the “hard-working voters, white voters,” implied she didn’t know whether he was a Muslim or not, and called on hysterical harpies to scream at Saturday’s meeting of the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee. Oh yes, and she never admitted that voting to approve the Iraq war was a mistake. And she’s run a terrible campaign based on inevitability and entitlement. Most of all, she’s done everything she could to try to destroy the most visionary, talented, inspirational, and truly wonderful candidate the Democrats have had since J.F.K. So, yes… She should go, and go now!!!!! Was there any question???? Long, long ago (last December, that is!) I actually admired Hillary, and deeply admired Bill Clinton. But they have hideously tarnished their legacy of service to this country. Hillary is very sad, and I pity her. But it’s time for her to exit the stage and make room for the next President of the United States. Period. Maybe if she does everything within her power to support Barack Obama in the general election, she can redeem herself slightly; otherwise, she’ll be consigned to the trash heap of selfish, arrogant, deluded, megalomanic politicians. GObama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hillary Clinton… She is a viable candidate. She should not go, the media should stop encouraging her to leave-especially since Barack Obama has not claimed the number to clench the nomination. If Clinton had been given respect for winning Florida and Michigan before, the complexion of the election would change. The treatment that Senator Clinton received was outraggeous. By her own party, by the media, and by pundits. The fact remains that Hillary Clinton has the same platform as a younger man, she has more experience, and he won because he was able to capatilize on a slogan for ambiguous change optomizing the ignorance of most americans–namely that “change” is 1) needed and 2) that our politics is ineffective. The fact is Barack Obama represents a frustration with a system that uses incrementalism, and a triad of bureaucracy, lawmakers, and the special interests to make policy work. Special interests give the individual a voice. Barack Obama and Hillary are virtually one in the same. The race and sexism card you can’t help but acknowledge since Barack Obama is black and Hillary Clinton is a woman. She was more qualified, had a better resume to win in November, and was declared unfit by the media and her party. Obama was annointed winner because his momentum obtained by in large an ambiguous message for message for change and a large unfaltering support by sexist (men), and near perfect support by Blacks. People want to vote for someone who most resembles themselves… While this holds true no man looks at Hillary clinton as one of there own, nor does a black person see the white clinton as one of their own. Paradox… Hillary never had a chance— Barack was black enough and he was white enough to over take a white female in a democrat election, come november a black man will not be able to win against a white man… this country is too racist, and too unimpressed with Barack Obama

She should go. She has not won the popular vote you fail to recgonize the people who have voted in the caucuses. IF you count all the votes Barack Obama has the popular vote. HIlary Clinton should join unite the party so that her legacy will be that she helped the country to elect the first african american as president of the united states of america.

I am absolutely amazed as to how many negative comments there are surrounding this nomination fight. All the Clinton supporters should come to REALITY and FACE it. Your candidate NEVER played by the rules and as a result, lost. I had loads of respect for her before she marginalized
Sen. Obama as “The Black Candidate.” If any of the Clinton supporters vote for McCain, I bless them. Their choosing to act like an adolescent child. They should be happy with the thought of a additional 4 year Bush term and should personally pat themselves on the back for aiding in the destruction of this country because the chose to maintain a high school mentality. It doesn’t surprise me at all that Clinton supporters are blue collar and high school educated. She has a connection with the immature and intellectually inferior.

Yes, she should stay in. This race is a virtual dead-heat with less than a 1% difference in the popular vote. Hillary is gaining momentum while Obama has been fading for the past 3 months. The job of the superdelegates is to chose the candidate that can win in November. Every poll shows Hillary is that candidate. Clinton should stay in – she is the individual that can win in the contest that really matters.

Sen. Clinton MUST Go! The sooner, the better. Sen. Clinton’s argument that she has won a majority of the popular vote is without merit and does not reflect Sen. Obama’s successes among the caucus states. I tired of her shrill speeches and the yelling of so many angry white women. I am tired of the misrepresentations of people like Ferraro and Steinem who want to acknowledge gender but not racial bias. Go, please go. I only hope that after so much race baiting and negative spin, Barack can salvage his campaign and restore his theme of one America.

Hillary should not throw in the towel. Info is now coming out about irregularities in some of the less sophisticated caucus districts – particularly in Texas – and reports are that Obama received more delegates than he deserved. If his people have not run a clean campaign, and the public is made aware of it, it may cook the rest of his goose, which is already feeling a lot of heat. Depositions have been made to Congressional committees that the last two Presidential elections were stolen by Karl Rove sitting at his laptop in his office; for “one of our own” to pull such stunts may be too much for decent members of the Democratic Party to take.
Hang in there Hillary. It’s not over until it’s over. Polls show that you have the best chance to beat McCain of the two candidates. We need a victory in November.

She should stay. The fight is not over until the last vote is counted. She has shown us what she is capable of and this country needs a President that is strong. Not all change is good and the other person in this race has not told me how he is going to make all these changes happen. Good ideas need good plans and hard work. Hillary is a strong worker. She would be a great Captain of any ship.

There’s an old quote that goes: “It ain’t over ’til it’s over!” Regardless of the ‘black man trumps ANY woman’ attitude, there’s still a few months of chance that the ‘golden boy’ could screw up again. Of course all this rhetoric means bupkiss since the ‘popular vote’ is meaningless. Dubya proved that one. The first Continental Congress must be spinning at hundreds of thousands of rpm’s each!

Relative to our numbers, woman are woefully underrepresented in our government. Hillary’s resume is more substantive than Obama’s. Should super delegates have more power than the popular vote? When will we have another qualified female candidate? And we wonder why it’s still a man’s world. If Hillary is not on the ticket, I would rather vote for McCain, register as an independent and sleep at night. J

sure, she has the right to stay and can take it to the convention if she so chooses, however, it seems that at this point her continuing to stay in the race only makes her look like she’s in denial about the state of her campaign and emphasises the loss of power of the clinton family in the democratic party.
is it any less historically significant to be the first woman vice president? does not winning the nomination preclude her from running in 2012?

STAY!!!!! She is the MOST qualified candidate with her experience as the First Lady of Arkansas, the First Lady of the United States and as the Senator from New York. She will be a GREAT President of the United States!!!!!

Absolutely! In the beginning I was for John Edwards, then I wondered about Barack Obama but decided he just didn’t have the experience yet to handle the job. In the end, after following the race very closely I decided Hillary really shared more closely my own views about the war, economy and particularly healthcare. She has championed healthcare all along. My son has no insurance and he is a healthy 29 but what happens if he gets sick? My daughter is disabled and could not buy insurance before she became disabled. These are people who worked but still can’t buy insurance. I have healthcare insurance but can’t afford co-payments and deductibles so am going without doctor’s care and preventative measures. I really fear that we will lose the presidency because the media has so negatively impacted Hillary’s campaign, they made it an uphill battle all the way. In spite of that she continues to fight, successfully. I believe if she loses it will be due to people like Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman and the venom put out by MSNBC. I stopped watching and switched to CNN and Fox to get a better picture. Some of the commentators are so vicious that I wonder where the shock value is that allows comments that so villify Clinton. Now to think the DNC took AWAY votes from Clinton and gave them to Obama is appalling. It makes me think of looking at a third party option. I am astounded. Don’t tell me it was because Michigan didn’t play by the rules nor did FLA. The DNC did change the rules didn’t they? The voters didn’t agree to throw away their votes did they? For Shame that the DNC would actually STEAL votes from Hillary and give them to Obama! Yes I am angry, very angry. Well, it appears we will get another 4-8 years of someone who isn’t qualified to do the job. That is about what we had with Bush, isn’t it? Obama isn’t about change. He doesn’t want universal healthcare, even though he says he does. If you don’t insure all the youth who don’t need healthcare as often, you will lose the older coverage because insurance companies need the leverage to offset costs. Obama isn’t experienced enough to recognize that. He won’t stand up for change in the oil industry nor did he stand up against the war or his minister. I really fear he hasn’t the fortitude to do this and will end as a lackey for the special interests. He already is changing things to please isn’t he? From churches to flag pins, give it up for the cause.
No Hillary we need you and Bill!

She has no shame, and will stoop to anything to win.

She should STAY! She deserves to win it. The media needs to stop saying that it is over or that it is hurting the party for Hillary to stay. It only makes Hillary look pathetic when she is anything but!!! She is a strong women who can run this country and some people are intimidated by a smart women.

HILARY CLINTON MUST STAY, SINCE SHE HAS WON ALL BIG STATES. THIS GIVES HER BETTER CHANCE TO WIN IN NOVERMBER. SHE IS THE BEST CANDIDATE TO BE PRESIDENT.

Sen. Clinton, will never give up, I think the hiarachy in Washington are running scared, Sen. Clinton can stand up to all of them, and will get more done in Washington, and in eight years time, think how many FEMALES will be running for president, its about time the “GOOD OLE BOYS CLUB” will be broken, Long Live Madam President

I think she should GO! She needs to stop being a sore looser. She is NOT going to win. I feel she would make things worse if she was to become President. GO AWAY HILLARY!!! As for counting Michigan and Florida’s votes…They should NOT count those. They told both states from the beginning if they moved their primaries they would NOT count their votes. They moved their primaries so I guess they didn’t want their votes to count; otherwise they wouldn’t have moved the date of their primaries.

Hillary should not quit. She is the better candidate. I think it is time to let a women try her hand at being president. She can’t do any worse. I believe she is the only one that will be able to beat McCain. I for one will vote for Mccain if Obama is the candidiate. McCain would be the first republican presidential candidate I have ever voted for.

At first I was not totally decided when it started here in Iowa, BUT now I am, and it’s Clinton.Listen to the people, and we want you to stay!

I understand the passion of Hilary’s supporter. However, it seems that her supporters are extremely negative and completely against uniting the democratic party, or the country for that matter. How can anyone who has been against the Bush administration, say that they would vote for John McCain without hesitation. It’s unintelligent, and it wreaks of hate so strong for Obama that they would rather the country suffer for another 4 years out of spite. I’d rather not vote for anyone, than help elect a George Bush replica. I don’t really understand the hatred for Obama. He seems like a decent guy who wants to do the right thing for our country, just like Hilary. I guess I do understand why you hate him. He took a short cut and cut Hilary off at the pass.

Of Course Hillary should stay. You biased and idiotic pundits of the press are the only ignorant ones that feel she should quit. Most of America knows she is winning,17 million appear to know that and she has the popular vote and a better chance of beating McCain in all areas. She has integrity and the vote of the American people to win. Why doesnt Obama drop out. It is you the press that is trying to elect him. Not we the people of America. WE WANT HILLARY! Why dont you read this post on nightline and respond to your biased and ridiculous questions that you asked Senator Clinton. She showed her class and integrity to even respond to the ignorant questions Cynthia asked. Where did you get that @#$@%^ reporter at? She asked the stupidiest questions I have ever heard. Is she stable? She doesnt seem in touch with reality. My apology for coming across so harsh, but I am so angry at the unfair press Hillary has recieved and continues to recieve. Us Clinton supporters will never give up and if she doesnt get the nomination I do blame the press and there biased reporting of the facts. I and many other supporters will write in Hillary Clinton for president. It appears that is the only way we can get across the fact that WE America Want Hillary. It is now a matter of principle and I have never been so enraged at the Democratic Party. The are also to blame if McCain wins due to supporting the wrong nominee. Goodnight Nightline.

To all the unity preachers….it’s never going to happen. It’s Hillary or McCain plain and simple. She should stay in but if she gets out I’m behind McCain 100%. (And it’s not just me, there are a large number of us that will never vote for a terrorist sympathizer).

What is with these deluded people??? Some of the comments above are positively intergalactic!!! The media have given Hillary Clinton the benefit of the doubt more times than anyone could possible deserve. But she’s run a terrible, nay hideous, campaign. What’s especially sad to me is that she seems to have convinced a few hundred thousand emotionally vulnerable women that not voting for Hillary is sexist or even misogynist, and that she deserves the Democratic nomination even though she clearly has been the weaker candidate. Face it, folks: Barack Obama has stayed on message across all these months, and delivered a message of change and hope, of transformational politics. Hillary has resorted to the worst kinds of race-baiting and attacks in order to try to bring Obama down. And for what? All for her crazy narcissism and sense of entitlement. There are many, many, many wonderful women politicians out there–for example, Kathleen Sebelius, Janet Napolitano, Claire McCaskill, and Christine Gregoire, just to name a few–who could very soon be terrific presidential candidates (after two glorious terms of Barack Obama). But somehow, some women have bought into the idea that Hillary is not just A woman, but “WOMAN,” in some archetypal sense. It is outrageous that she should scream “sexism” after running such a God-awful campaign (which by the way was managed primarily by deluded men). Historians will have a field day analyzing all the political mistakes Hillary Clinton made during this primary season. But fundamentally, beyond the missteps, Hillary was simply the wrong person for an election year in which the electorate is looking for fundamental change. She was looking for a coronation while everyone else was looking for a new message. It’s time for Hillary to pack it in, for the sake of the Democratic Party and of the country.

Senator Clinton should take it all the way to the convention. If there are crazy superdelegates out there that cannot handle the pressure of needing to vote for someone to get it over and being pressured to vote for Obama then they will also lose.
Facts show that she is the most electable in November. Fact is that the majority of Senator Clinton’s supporters will go to McCain or not vote at all and those figures are not even considered in the polls showing that Clinton has the bigger advantage over McCain than Obama does.
Fact is he has questionable associations and has not answered to all of them yet. This will hurt in Nov.
Do I trust him? Absolutely not. Talk is good but not when actions cannot back it up.
Senator Clinton has had 35 years of helping families and middleclass. She should continue so we can continue to have someone to vote for within the Democratic Party.

Hillary should stay in the race NO MATTER WHAT! It’s simple, Hillary has the popular vote and this super-delegate nonsense is stifling the true voice of the people. This is still a Democracy, right? What happened in FL and MI is a travesty! The Democrats and media seem to sway in the direction of Obama, but he will NEVER win against McCain. ONLY Hillary has the experience and popularity to achieve this. The DNC are throwing the election away if they keep urging Hillary to concede. Hillary is the long-distance runner. Obama just doesn’t have what it takes to finish the race. Not to mention, his affiliations with people who spread hatred are frightening. This is unacceptable for a Presidential candidate. Hillary is respectful and professional at all times. She’s got class and exactly what it takes to make a fine President. If Hillary doesn’t get the Democratic nomination, many Democrats have decided they would vote for McCain. I hope the DNC wises up before it’s too late. They need to stop favoring Obama and start being fair to Hillary. DNC, stop trying to manipulate this election! What an outrage! People need to speak out and write letters to the DNC! What they are doing is just unacceptable!

Hillary should stick it out, the popular vote, the vote of the people should be all that matters, it seems unfair that delagates ” a chosen few” should have more say so than the people. Hillary has proven her strength, her determination, her debate that in order for a national healthcare plan to work, it needs widespread participation such as social security which if it had not been borrowed from would be stronger today, non the less if it optional it will not have the funding necessary to make the widespread change that Hillary is out to make and we all need, she has political experience not just as the 1st lady as which I believe she had more input than shes been given credit for, but two terms as a U.S. senator if anyone can defeat McCain and make a then changes this country needs to make Hillary CAN DO IT!!!

How dare people say that a vote for mccain cause they are saying no to obama is acting like an adolescent child. OBAMA has no experience, McCain does… McCain represents stability and status quo, and I’d vote for that over uncertainty. Obama represents uncertainty as no one can tell me what change he represents.. .Change you can believe in? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? I BELIEVE IN CHANGE? BUT CHANGE FOR WHAT? I tell this… people would ban water if they were told that it was a chemical called dihydrogen monoxide, which it is… but people are only focused on the packaging.. .Do we really know the real Obama or is he just really a shady guy dreamed up in some hall by a few democrats wanting to pass a liberal agenda… Wake up to reality— Obama represents a change from everything we know and that may NOT be a good thing… Do you really want to risk it or do you rather have a moderate republican who has a proven track record of being a cross the aisle kinda congressman… John McCain has a different air about him then Bush, he represents change from Bush, and he represents moderation-he has forward vision and is an American Hero… I will not view a vote for McCain as an adolescent stand but a god given right since Obama is inexperienced and says anything and everything to get elected… the man has no principles and now wearing american pins after saying one such action is not needed… the man leaves his church saying he wants to spare them the limelight… WHAT THE HECK! he has no principles and avoids the truth… WE DONT KNOW HIM and I’m not an adolescent for voting for McCain a proven track record if Hillary doesn’t get the nomination!

Hillary Clinton needs to stay in the race.
Who wants a “first lady” who was never proud of her country until her man was running for president ??
Don’t be fooled by the Obama claim that he is not still associated with his church of more than twenty (20) years. The “O” family has been so indoctrinated by his racist pastor over the years, a fool, only, will accept
his claim.
Where have all the clear-thinking
people disappeared to??
The popular vote has been won by Clinton,
The DNC may accept all the “super delegates” for “O” . He will not be
elected by the people.
“CHANGE” — you will be changed and short-changed should you vote for the
‘darling’ of the DNC.

How is it that people are upset with Obama concerning the Michigan and Florida primaries when he wasn’t even on the ballot. Is that fair? Now if it was reversed, and Obama had been on the ballot, and Sen. Clinton had not, would Hilary supporters still be crying foul play? Didn’t Sen.Clinton know about and agree to the rules? I voted for Obama in the primay election, but because of the negativity from both camps I’m somewhat undecided at this point. However, I have noticed the extreme negativity seems to come from Clinton supporters. This race is insane.

I think Se. Clinton has fought a tough campaign, but it’s time for her to bow out now and support Sen. And God help this country if HE wins the White House!

Of course she should go.She can not possibly win. It’s over, it’s been over . She should have already dropped out. Yes she should go now. She has divided the party enough. She cares only about herself. It’s all about her. She could care less about the party. She has already made that perfectly clear. She can’t accept the fact that she has lost, that option never even entered her mind. She voted with the other candidates to NOT count Florida and Michigan , but then when she finally figured out she was losing she wanted the rules changed. She felt entitled to change the rules just as she feels entitled to be president. She isn’t entitled. She lost , get over it and move on.

Clinton supporters may be reluctant to support Obama now, but they’ll come around… sooner or later. It’s infantile to say you’ll play for the other team just because you don’t like your new coach or captain. In 2004 when Dean lost his front-runner status and Kerry assumed it, I said that I would vote for George Bush… but I didn’t. When we’re angry, we say things we don’t necessarily mean. Wait and see: Time will be the greatest catalyst after tomorrow night.

Hillary should ABSOLUTELY stay in the race! From the very first convention I ever saw in the infancy of TV, either 1952 or ’56 when I was just a little kid, the floor fights went on for DAYS with deals being brokered between the delegates. Why all of a sudden does it have to be a foregone conclusion?? She’s the one candidate who can lead this country out of the economic mess we’re in. And the bonus would be Bill! Why? Because the rest of the world LOVES him. And too much of the rest of the world hates US for being bullies that try to force our ways on them. We’d get the FREE bonus of the best goodwill ambassador ever! How does that stack up against comments made by the other candidate’s spouse?? Also, one last shot against the prejudiced media fawning over BO for owning all of the “educated” voters: I beg your pardon! My husband and I and most of our many friends who are backing Mrs. Clinton have achieved a higher level of education, some with very advanced degrees and professorships. So stop demeaning us. And stop demeaning her, as if her only supporters are “working class, lower educated voters”!

What ever happened to the US constitution that states all are created equal? Hillary is the only hope Americans have of maintaining our nation and even then, our concept of equality is jeopardized when a “super” deligate has as much power with one vote to negate thousands of votes. And since when can someone who claims to be running one of the largest political parties, deny or change the way a popular vote has been cast? I’m not naieve, and I know politics are enough to make the founding fathers turn over in their graves, but how do we get back our rights if votes can be cast and not counted accurately? Hillary should never give up or we may never have the chance to remain a democracy…at least not in the so-called Democratic party. I would hate to have to vote for a Republican, but Obama may cause a lot of us to.

I haven’t heard a good word from any of you for her on these political talk shows. You all think you are so important. Not one of you would SCREAM in defense of her about these foul sermons from Obama’s church against her. I pray she doesn’t take the VP job or do anything to help that gutter trash Obama. Yes, it’s true the Democratic party is splintered. But if it’s a choice of doing what’s best for the “party” over what’s best for American and our safety, I choose America and not Obama. It amazes me how it’s ok and acceptable to bash Hillary but no one dare say antyhing derogatory about Obama. Actually if one does dare highlight his inexperience and less than exemplary American patriotism, for someone running for the highest American office, the media ignores them.

I used to like and respect Mrs Clinton when I lived in NY. Now I think she feels that she should be the candidate but its over. Give up. Its okay try again in four years. Give the brother a chance. He has proven himself to be worthy. Her recent comments about JFK’s assassination were uncalled for but not overly reported on like comments from persons other than Obama. The things she says are hushed up, but they come out of her mouth. Obama has shown restraint and dignity in dealing with her and her followers but its time for it to stop!!!

Hillary should have ended her campaign months ago. Hillary is not interested in what is best for the democratic party, and therefore the country. Hillary is all about Hillary. She does not lead in the popular vote. The only way that this can be said is to say she leads in primary vote. That is leaving out, not including, the eleven caucus states! Thus disenfranchising eleven states. Not two states, Michigan and Florida, but eleven states plus two American territories.
Hillary needs to do is what is good for the nation as opposed as what is best for her ego

Hillary needs to leave the race!!! Hillary thought that she was going to secure the nomination by a land slide & she underestimated Obama. I personally believe that she wants the democratic party to loose if she’s not the nominee. Perhaps she wants to run again in 2012 ummm………
Hillary have some dignity! Hillary has been polarzing throughout the race. Hillary is about “Divide & Conquer.” Even if her conquest comes at the expense of America’s global standing, ie. The Democrats retaking the White House, she seems hell bent on making certain that Senator Obama-her fellow Democrat, her fellow Senator, our fellow American-does not win our country presidency. Hillary
have some dignity! Leave the race gracefully…Get out….I am personally sick of her and Bill’s display of the same old Washington politics. And, how can she run our country when she can’t even budget a $20 million dollar campaign…and let’s not forget all of the lies she told to make herself
look better. Sniper fire Hillary…Really Hillary!! Maybe someone should explain to Hillary the difference between misspeaking
and lying…Oh but then again I believe she already knowns. Obama is guilty of what association?…Hillary & Bill are liar’s. “I did not have any sexual relations with that woman” how soon we forget how Bill turned the White House into a little Whore House….And as for Hillary’s alleged 38+ yrs of political experience, apparently she doesn’t
only have a problem with telling
the truth her arithmethic is off as too.

Absolutely. Hillary should be and must be a Nominee. Above all of her attributes she represents the right choice for America. Would she be in European Parlamentary system, she would be seated as a representative and so contributed to political system. What a shame that a person who receives the most votes from the citizens is going to be stripped of political power! This is a manipulation of the will of the people, the same style which was going on in Communist Europe.

Since when does the DNC take precedence over the costitution of the United States of America? Our constitution is being eradicated, systematically; and I’m getting to where I don’t recognize my country.
No, Hillary should not drop out. With stolen votes, and the disregard for millions of taxpaying citizens who voted in Michigan and Florida, the DNC is doing all it can to shove Obama down everyone’s throats, and undermine this election.
I can tell you, if Obama is awarded the nomination, I will be voting for McCain, and so will the members of my family, and so will all of our friends, and so will all of our co-workers who support Hillary, who are all democrats. Then again, I’m getting to where I don’t identify with the democratic party, any longer. They’re becoming just as bad as republicans, for crookedness.
Its difficult to imagine another four years of Bush-type policies and the extension of the Iraq war; but rather that, than to have a muslim in the white house, making policies that will jeopardize the safety and welfare of this nation in some very terrible ways. What a slap in the face to all who have died in these past 8 years of war and their families! Thanks a lot, Obama supporters. You’ve screwed us all, for a poster-boy.

Eva and Nick post:” …This is a manipulation of the will of the people, the same style which was going on in Communist Europe.”
It seems like the DNC is run by a gang of people who hate Clinton so much and don’t care the feeling of the majority of Democrat members.

Hillary should stay in or suspend her campaign until later. She did NOT resort to racebaiting, this was totally spun by the media and used by Mr Obama to his advantage. This sort of thing has been tossed about in sound bites until it has become fact in your mind. He has not been able to CLINCH the nomination, what does that tell you? Why should anyone (as was urged for months) drop out of a race that she was a viable candidate and essentially tied? Disgusting.

Sentor |Clinton should stay all the way to the convention. I am republican and she has my vote. I believe there are other republican women that will be voting for her this year. I will not vote for Obama he does not have the experience to be a President. We need someone that has experience and she does.

Hillary should definitly stay. If Obama is the Nominee and Hilary is no where in there, i will not waste my time to vote. I have never not voted since 18 yrs old but I won’t be a part of what happens in 08 if Hillary is not at least on the ticket.

You can all take the blame for deciding the outcome of this race since early in the year. You all have been a part in sabotaging Hillary’s campaign. I haven’t heard a good word from any of you for her on these political talk shows. You all think you are so important. Not one of you would SCREAM in defense of her about these foul sermons from Obama’s church against her. I pray she doesn’t take the VP job or do anything to help that gutter trash Obama. I would not let them USE me to unify the PARTY. I only hope she is insulted as much as we are. I will never again vote for a man and never again vote Democrat!!!!!

Hillary and her supporters should recognize that in any contest, there is a winner and a loser. She lost due to the fact that her campaign was not organized or managed well. She lost because of her “misspeaking” on many occasions and not willing to admit her mistakes. She lost because more people voted for Obama than for her.
She should at this time, get behind Obama and make sure the Democrats win the election in November.

Hillary needs to leave the race!!! Hillary thought that she was going to secure the nomination by a land slide & she underestimated Obama. I personally believe that she wants the democratic party to loose if she’s not the nominee. Perhaps she wants to run again in 2012 ummm………Hillary have some dignity! Hillary has been polarizing throughout the race.
And, how can she run our country when she can’t even budget a $20 million dollar campaign…and let’s not forget all of the lies she told to make herself look better. Sniper fire Hillary…Really Hillary!! Maybe someone should explain to Hillary the difference between misspeaking and lying…Oh but then again I believe she already knows. Obama is guilty of what association?…Hillary & Bill are liar’s. “I did not have any sexual relations with that woman” how soon we forget how Bill turned the White House into a little Whore House….And as for Hillary’s alleged 38+ yrs of political experience, apparently she doesn’t only have a problem with telling
the truth her arithmetic is off as too. America is in a bad place…When American’s are allowing RACISM, SEXISM & BIASES to guide them…..Some American’s seem to careless about right & wrong….Democrats, I ask how bad is Bush/Republican’s when some of us display such horrible behavior ourselves….Hillary’s goal seems to be “Divide & Conquer.” We need to unify the party. She should stay. Obama has little to show for his short political tenure. His string of caucus wins in red states will amount to little in a general election. The Dem leaders always manage to be outsmarted. Giving Obama delegates from Michigan, a state from which he had himself removed from the ballot is ridiculous. The process is so flawed – from caucuses to super delegates – it’s a stretch to call it “democratic”.

When this campaign is over, I will not listen to any of the news stations. I will get my biased news from the Internet, something I have to pay for anyway. The media has pampered Obama and nursed him along. It’s apparent that many in our country don’t really care about who they turn this country over to. Obama has an agenda that lies deep in his hate filled heart and that is against this country and the white race. He is using all of you to accomplish his mission, even the blacks, but they don’t realize it. I can see clear through him. Electing Barack Hussein Obama so soon after 9/11 is like electing a Japanese man right after Pearl Harbor!

Senator Clinton should run as a third party candidate. Senator Lieberman did it and had he not he wouldn’t be a U.S. Senator now! The end game is the Presidency! She shouldn’t worry about the future support of the Democratic party!! In four years the whole world can change! Hillary is 60! This is the time to run the table! She can beat Obama and McCain on an Independent ticket! If the Democratic party shuns her so be it but the American people will admire her more than ever!
I am a liberal Democrat who will vote Republican for the first time in my life if Barrack Obama is the nominee. I still won’t vote for him even if Hillary were chosen and accepted the VP slot! Why – because this is more about Barrack Obama than Hillary Clinton – This is about his questionable association with Wright/Ayers/Rescoe. This is about quitting his church now instead of 20 years ago. It is also about Michele Obama calling the American people sloths while those very same hard working Americans paid for her education with their tax dollars! It is about Barack Obama telling the American people to heat less, eat less and give up their SUVs while he lives in a sprawling mansion in Chicago! It’s because I don’t like being called mean spirited!!!! I am one very liberal Democrat who will not vote for Barrack Obama! This country has suffered through far too much change under the Bush administration! It’s the most hollow catch phrase I’ve ever heard!

Hillary Clinton should stay! I am a life long Democrat and while I care not to bash either of the candidates, I am
concerned about Obama’s friends and associates. It is not just being unfamilar with him or his lack of experience, it is his association with the extreme radical left that gives many of my friends and I difficulty supporting him. I believe had he been a senator for a couple of terms, the general population would feel more comfortable with him. They would have had a broader record to research and make a better informed choice. He is a roll of the dice. I am not comfortable with that given the issues that we face in America today.

Some of you man bashing women need to get over it…Just say that you refuse to vote for a African American man….Hillary has really accomplished her goal! You all will be singing a different tune if McCain is elected….When you can’t afford food or shelter….Obama has no control over what other adult people say….Can you control what your husband, parent, pastor, etc…say hell no! But you Hillary supporters sure do quickly forget the lies and the horrible things that come directly out of Hillary’s mouth….amazing!!! Hold Obama accountable for his own words & actions not that of another, unlike many are doing with Hillary…She tells lies and says inappropriate things yet it only stays in the news for days not months ….However Senator Obama is being held accountable for comments other people are making…Ridiculous!

She should stay! She’s the one most suited for the job, the one who’ll make the clearest and best choices for this country! It’s just too bad that this country is still such a ‘men’s club’, still not taking women seriously and making it difficult for them to succeed. She’s the ONLY one I’d feel secure with in running the country; she HAS to stay and WIN!

Yes, Hillary Clinton should stay in the race. If anything Obama should concede to her. He should man up by announcing to the whole world that she is the most qualified, experienced, and electable presidental candidate and that he would be honored to support her in the race for the presidency. He needs to look her in the eyes in front of the whole world and say “Ladies First.” and go on to say, and now my fellow Americans I’ll see you in the next 8yrs. Now, that will guarantee him the presidency in 2017 til 2025. This statement is in fact the most logical solution for our democratic party to regain control of the white house, for years to come. America needs them both. Everyone must keep in mind that “Hillary” isn’t getting any younger so, this is it. Think about it, by than Obama will have all the experience he’ll need to keep the country going in the right direction. He can wait his turn, she did.

You Obama lovers have to be liberals.
You all sing this tune that Obama is santa claus and has this enormous power to put gas back to $1.50 a gallon, or magically solve all our foreign policy problems by sucking up to roque leaders.
I cant count the times I have heard, ‘your teenagers will be going to Iraq’ ….failing to mention they have to VOLUNTEER .
I cant count the times I have heard the ‘Roe Vs Wade’ issue, when republicans have ruled 24 out of the 35 years since Roe was handed down.
I cant count the number of times I have heard …Im sick of $4 gas, like Obama can do anything about it.
You Obama lovers think the president is some kind of SANTA CLAUS who acts more like a SUGAR DADDY than president.
I have rarely heard any Obama supporter explain how Obama is going to implement all the changes he puts up on his website, or pay for them.
He failed to mention to you all he is re deploying all the troops, NOT bringing them home.
Its still going to cost lives and 20 billion per month.

There is a feeling of disappointment that
Mrs. H. Clinton is facing a great defeat.
I voted for her in the California Primary and so did my numerous friends. What is frustrating is the ultimate nomination does not come from the majority of Americans but from a few so called “superdelegates”.
There should be an amendment to our
Constitution. We should abolish these
electoral college and these nonsense superdelegates. Nominations and the
November Gen. elections should rest solely on the popularity vote casts
secretly by the American registered voters. That is the TRUE democratic election process.

Hillary will stay because she has the right. Hillary will win the nomination because she is the (way) better candidate. And after all the pain inflicted on her by the media, the DNC and the Obots, Hillary will win the White House back and this country will finally get back on track.

First off, I think your piece tonight on
Clinton was an Obit. in the guise of a question. Cynthia McFadden in all her interviews with Clinton, is condescending
at best.
Senator Clinton should stay with it and ignore the voices of the “talking heads”/”pundits” aka the media.
Why is there no focus on the states
whose primaries tomorrow? We hear nothing of that electorate. They’ve
been written off for Obama.
I’m angry about Florida & Michigan. It’s not about the Dem. Party “rules”. It’s about the voters. They are saying in effect, “Florida & Michigan, your votes
are only worth half-a-vote”. The voters had no say re: the earlier date of the primary. I believe if it were Obama who were behind, he would be given full votes.
There has been so much talk about racism, but little talk of the sexism that has fueled so much of the dislike and hatred of Clinton, many men have said they would *never* vote for a woman. Imagine if they had said they would *never* vote for a Black? There would be outrage.
Clinton, stay with it.

What would serve Howard Dean and Obama would be for Hilary to run as an independant or as John McCain’s running mate. That would be the hardest hit the DNC deserves. How can they only count half the votes in the Florida and Michigan Primary? Does that mean those voters are only half Americans? Because they’re votes would have meant Obama LOST! I will Not vote for Obama even if they ask Sen Clinton to be his running mate for V.P. I will also write in Sen. Clinton’s name on my ballot and even if she doesn’t win neither will Sen.Obama. It will be the lesser of two evils, but I have more faith in Sen McCain in his love and loyality to the U.S. At least He served his Country and doesn’t worship among racially bias bigots!

Dexter, in your post against Sen. Clinton you said, “Oh, yes, and she never admitted that voting to approve the Iraq war was a mistake.”
If you watched the debates then you would know that she did – on numerous occasions. Beginning with the debate where the candidates were asked if there was anything throughout their career that they’d like to take back or change – Hillary’s answer was her vote for the war.
Posted by: Cheryl | June 3, 2008, 4:05 am 4:05 am
With all respect Hillary mathematically has no chance to win the nomination without braking the rules. To take a scorched earth policy at the National Convention will tare the Democratic party apart. The next President will have a grave impact on the future of our country. At least two supreme court lifetime nominations, which if Republican, will most certainly criminalizes a woman’s right to choose on abortion. McCain’s policies guarantees us an indefinite occupation in Iraq and most likely a new war in Iran. A Republican course will continue to pander to the wealthiest citizens and corporate interests while ignoring the plight of middle clash people with housing crises and rising fuel costs.
A vote for McCain simply out of spite for Obama will definitely doom this country by the end of a Republican term in 2012. Hillary for the sake of everyones future needs to step down and endorse Obama.

all can guest each others race just by reading the comments!and too, if you are going to vote Republican because Clinton
won’t win, just do not vote at all that

Quote – the Book:“Hillary Clinton Nude” seeks to strip bare the propaganda and PR spin that her campaign directors and consultants will inevitably cook up in the 2008 presidential campaign. What will remain is raw naked truth. However, this book goes beyond exposing Hillary Clinton. She is a microcosm of all that is rotten and insufferable about the American political system in its current state of deformity. Observing Hillary Clinton “nude” will almost blind us by the light of painful truth, for to understand what is nightmarish about the prospects of her presidency, one must also comprehend what has become terminally corroded within the wider political culture and social context that has given birth to America’s present state of distress.

Sonya, your posts are quite heated. I’d like to know what you believe “the lies and the horrible things that come directly out of Hillary’s mouth” are. “Some of you man bashing women need to get over it…just say that you refuse to vote for a African American man.” I would vote for AN African American if they were fit for office. Man or woman. Colin Powell for instance – smart man, extensive experience, smart decision maker. Another post said, “Obama is a puppet”. It’s no secret who the puppetmaster is -his wife, and that’s quite scarey. I know first hand the reverse racism in Chicago. Of course we can’t control what people say, but I would not choose to support or associate with those that incriminate others. The pastor’s comments were not an isolated incident, this is a lifestyle and it’s “ridiculous” to believe that Obama was surprised by it – he had to denounce him because it was public and un-American. Talk about who’s lying….
You said, “Hillary has really accomplished her goal!” I don’t know what goal you’re talking about, but the rest of America knows her goal is the presidency…HELLOOO!
By the way, when did you meet her? You sure seem to know alot about her personally – how she feels, her intentions, etc. I believe she truly loves this country. Obama is gracious, but not ready for the presidency. And with all his questionable associations, including his wife, I don’t trust that he can handle THEM, let alone the country.

“all that is rotten and insufferable about the American political system in its “current state of deformity”
I like that quote. I have long been an opponent of the Electoral College, and perhaps with all that has happened this year and with what I predict are the death throes of the Democratic Party as a result of it, the American public will finally take a stand and abolish the EC and parties and elect candidates to office based on their individual merits and societal values. The EC was established as a means to elect the POTUS by “those in the know,” blatantly ignoring the voice of the “regular” Joe (or Jane) with its mechanism of allowing the 538 members of the EC to decide unequivocally for 300,000,000+ American citizens – even if it is in complete opposition to what the voters have chosen (complete with 4 elections historically where the EC voted contrary to the popular vote). It is a deplorable means of electing the leader of this country and undermines EVERYONE’S concept of Democracy, in substance and in reality.

Lets vote for John McCain and continue the prosperity that the United States are experiencing right now. I cannot understand why people would want to change the current situation. The country is doing well and the economy is booming, we are winning the war in Iraq with very, very few casualties. All that story about 25,000 plus of our soldiers that are incapacitated..I don’t believe it..4000 plus soldiers dead in Iraq! Yeah Right! Gas is very affordable; Its easy to purchase a home; Education is affordable to everyone. America is the richest country in the world and we owe no one..People say that we owe china and Japan trillions but I don’t believe that..America! Owe! No! All the commissions that concluded that Iraq played no role in 911 and that there were no Alqeda in Iraq during Saddam’s rule..don’t know what they are talking about..The Republican party is the only party to run this country..can’t you see how well the country is doing now? Why would I want to change that and vote Democrat..I am happy for the So called Democrats who are going to vote for McCain..so we can continue the prosperity that we are now enjoying. Eventhough McCain stated the other day that he does not know much about the economy..we need to vote for him because he has experience and who cares about the economy! Please America and Hillary Supporters who plan to spite the Democrat party and vote for McCain..please do not change your mind..because we really need the Republicans to continue the prosperity that we currently enjoy. Thank you Smart Hillary supporters who plan to vote for McCain..We shall forever be indebted to you. Vote McCain 08. The best decision you’ll ever make for the country you claim to love..Vote Republican! Vote McCain 08

You know who really split the dem. party. The media. They, not all, decided they couldn’t handle a woman president, especially Olberman and Matthews. Matthews plays “Hard Ball”, well so did Hillary. And Olberman, well, what do you expect from a neandrathal, some one ought to smack those poindexter glasses right off his face for the way he bashed, criticized, and continually went after her. But she took it. Yeah, she should stay. Hopefully some more tapes, especially the Michele tape emerges. THen lets see the media try to justfy Obama’s halo.

North Korea..we need to invade that country..We are not going to talk to any of those people..they are our enemies..as a matter of fact lets make some more enemies..we need more enemies..so we we can fight war..during more war we are involved in the more the America people would keep voting for the Republican pary because the Republican party is viewed as the Party better able to take care of America during war..Good strategy by the Republicans to stay in power. In the meantime the domestic economy is going down the tubes..but who cares about the economy anyway! War is more important. I predict that John McCain is going to win in November because he is an old white man..I do not understand why Obama thinks he can win in November..America is not ready for a black man as president..America would not vote a Jewish man,Asian man or any other race for President..what Koolaid is Obama drinking that makes him believe that as a black man he can be president(qualified or not). I don’t know what he’s thinking because the fact is on judgement day in November most of the whites who voted for Obama are going to vote McCain..that is the fact..and People are only fooling themselves to think otherwise..that’s my opinion for all its worth but come November you would see that I was right. How can McCain win with the economy in tatters and the Iraq situation? I don’t know but he will.. And we’ll be back to square one..but that’s America! Race is still a big factor is America’s politics..don’t be fooled by the Obama ride..come November its over for Obama because he’s black. Word!

Hillary needs to stay in the race and fight to the end. Don’t give up Hillary! You fight to the end! take it to the convention floor and fight, fight, fight! The troops need to stay and fight in Iraq and Hillary need to stay and fight to the end. Then! Hallelujah! The Republicans can win in November and continue the economic prosperity that we currently are experiencing. So Hillary! you go girl! fight, fight, fight..It means that you are a strong woman who don’t take crap..fight girl, fight! Why do you think Bush got two terms because America views a person as tough if they like to fight..do not backdown and for heaven’s sake do not admit you were wrong..just fight and you are regarded as strong..So it worked for Dubya..it will surely work for Hillary. After clearly winning the popular vote, the question is not whether Senator Clinton should stay or go, it is whether or not Obama can win the general election WITHOUT her….and he can’t.

ABC sucks, you are the retard..that is what I just said..Hillary should stay in the race and fight! you are probably one of those Hillary voters whom the polls suggest are unschooled and uneducated. One would have to be blind, dumb and deaf to Vote for John McCain who are going to carry on the failed Republican policies. For you info “ABC sucks I am not an Obama supporter..I am a Democrat who would support whomever the Nominee is and commonsense tells me that its not gonna be Hillary..If Hillary were the nominee..I’d vote for her because she’s a democrat..but she ran a bad campaign and lost..do not blame the press and sexism..She lost fair and square..Can’t you accept that? You Hillary supporters who plan to vote for McCain go ahead and vote for McCain..thats your right..I won’t call you a retard for that so why call me that because you don’t agree with me. Democrats 08

Clyburn (superdelegate) announced that he will be give his vote to OBAMA. Knowing that this is a black man it should not come as a surprise. All over the web this morning is a “chant” going on referring “OUR TIME HAS COME”. Yes the black radical power in this country will be in charge and we are all now in for quite a change like what OBAMA has preached “change”.

Consider this:
Initial total number of Democratic Delegates
(excluding Florida and Michigan) = 4,048
One half of 4,048 + 1 = 2,025
Superdelegates to vote at convention = -795
Total PLEDGED DELEGATES available
before convention before May 31, 2008 = 3,253
Plus Florida PLEDGED Restored May 31 = +92.5
Plus Michigan PLEDGED Restored May 31 = +64
Total PLEDGED DELEGATES available
Before Convention as of May 31 = 3,409.5
Original number of SUPERDELEGATES = 795
Plus Florida (13) and Michigan (14.5)
Restored SUPER DELEGATES = 27.5
Total SUPERDELEGATES to vote at the
Convention = 822.5
New Total Convention Delegate count
As of May 31, 2008 = 4,232
New “Magic Number” of PLEDGED DELEGATES
TO BECOME NOMINEE = 2,118
Total Obama PLEDGED DELEGATES
As of June 3, 2008 = 1,739 *
*Includes actual and projected PLEDGED
Total Clinton PLEDGED DELEGATES
As of June 3, 2008 = 1,625#
#Includes actual and projected PLEDGED
Obama needs to win before Convention = 379 PLEDGED DELEGATES
Clinton needs to win before Convention = 493 PLEDGED DELEGATES
The above analysis based on numbers from the New York Times of June 3, 2008.
Total number of PLEDGED DELEGATES available in MT AND SD = 31
Latest ARG polls for MT and SD from RealClearPolitics:
Montana – Obama 48% and Clinton 44%

Popular vote as of June 3, 2008
These figures INCLUDE Florida, Michigan, and Puerto Rico, for both candidates:
Clinton 17,692,976
Obama 17,627,421 (includes “UNCOMMITTED”, which is a mixed vote)
Total Diff. +65,555 (Clinton)
Pct. Diff. +0.2% (Clinton)
Above figures from RealClearPolitics.com
So, why SHOULD Hillary quit NOW? She speaks the truth, she does lead in the Popular Vote.
However, to be very fair, let’s take away BOTH Hillary’s Puerto Rico vote AND Obama’s Puerto Rico and “UNCOMMITTED” vote. Doing that, the new totals are:
Clinton 17,429,856
Obama 17,267,795
Diff. +162,061 (Clinton)
So there you have it, folks. The question is, “Who is leading in the Popular Vote”? Please make your choice.
Posted by: Yavo Lem | June 3, 2008, 8:51 am 8:51 am
Which Democratic candidate is more electable?
Consider this:
This is how the Electoral College stands as of June 3, 2008, (Puerto Rico is not a factor in the Electoral Vote), showing strengths of Clinton vs. Obama, based on their results. For those who have not understood, this is not a head-to-head matchup, but rather a side-by-side comparison.
This assumes a winner-take-all primary/caucus vote takes all Electoral votes for each state
With Florida and Michigan, which Clinton won per the DNC decision:
Clinton 308
Obama 224
Assuming the following victories, based on current polls, with Clinton winning NOTHING ELSE, and Obama winning South Dakota, and Montana, the totals would then be:
Clinton 308
Obama 230 (includes Montana, and South Dakota)
Please note that it takes 270 Electoral College votes to win the General Election.
Whether or not the vote turns out as indicated, I firmly believe the above analysis more than amply demonstrates which of the Democratic candidates is in a better position to be the stronger candidate in the General Election.
P.S. – One last thought about this Electoral College Vote analysis; in it I gave Senator Obama full credit for the state caucuses he won. However, it should be noted that there are not any caucuses to be won in the Big Leagues during the General Election. There are only PRIMARIES, WINNER-TAKE-ALL.
And I am sure the “Super Delegates” are aware of that.
Posted by: Yavo Lem | June 3, 2008, 8:53 am 8:53 am
To say that Obama is Presidential material because he won more PLEDGED DELEGATES from CAUCUSES is like saying he is the STRONGER candidate because he wins at WIENER AND MARSHMALLOW ROASTS. Please note that there are NO CAUCUSES in the General Election. He is in no way the STRONGER candidate, and any SUPER DELEGATE with any intelligence and politcal savvy at all knows that full well. The Convention should be all action-packed drama, kiddies, with Obama being just a big WIENER. As someone once said of the former baseball slugger Reggie Jackson, “There’s not enough mustard in this world to cover that hot dog.” And the same applies to Obama.
Posted by: Yavo Lem | June 3, 2008, 8:54 am 8:54 am
Good grief, enough already. Let’s hope that once Obama reaches 2118, Hillary concedes and endorses. History shows that ANY party (look it up — both parties have done this) with a protracted fight all the way to the convention loses their bid for the White House EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Posted by: S.E. Croft | June 3, 2008, 8:56 am 8:56 am
Things are NOT as they are made to appear.
For all the talk about “Super Delegates”, there is nothing “Super” about them. Just as everyone of us, they have one vote each. Their endorsement is just that, an endorsement. It is not a vote. They are not supposed to come into play unless there is a deadlocked convention, and in that case, they are expected to exercise their BEST JUDGMENT to cast their votes for that candidate they, in view of their extensive experience and political wisdom, think would be able to WIN the General Election. They are not supposed to be endorsing this or that candidate, BEFORE THEY VOTE AT THE CONVENTION. To do otherwise is to be false to the trust and responsibility that has been placed in and on them.
It would be better at this point if all the bickering supporters of each candidate looked at the number of ACTUAL PLEDGED DELEGATES allocated to their candidate on the basis of primaries and caucuses won. Those figures, as of June 3, 2008 (NY Times web site), for those who truly follow politics are:
Obama 1,624
Clinton 1,568
Diff. +56 (Obama)
Of the “surveyed” “Super Delegates”, of which there are now approx. 822.5, there are at least 202 who have not “endorsed” any candidate, which is as it was intended to be. Again, an “endorsement” does not necessarily translate into a convention vote, since in theory “Super Delegates” are supposed to represent the wisdom of the party and are expected to be above the fray. Those who have endorsed, really should be stripped of their position and replaced by those who will act as intended. However, that is the responsibility of the DNC, which so far, has proven inadequate to discipline its own members.
The bottom line, “Super Delegate” endorsements should not be counted by candidates claiming that such an “endorsement” makes this person into a PLEDGED DELEGATE, for that is NOT THE CASE, and to think otherwise is to delude oneself and one’s followers. It is also wrong for the media to even report what “Super Delegates” are doing now, as they do not even come into play unless and until there is a DEADLOCKED CONVENTION.
However, there is nothing to prevent partisans from ‘counting chickens before they hatch”, nor is there anything to prevent the media from playing games with gullible people to increase interest in these silly stories.
As Yogi Berra once said, “It ain’t over, ’til it’s over”. And this fight is a long way from over.

Hillary Clinton has already hurt the Democratic Party in 2008 more than Ralph Nader did in 2000 — the election is hers not to win but to lose — it’s scary to think John McCain could win because Hillary Clinton would not put the Party ahead of her own personal ego and ambition. As carpet-bagging junior Senator from NY she has done little for us in the Empire State. Let the people of Arkansas have her. She’s as phony as a $3 bill. Disenfranchisement of FL and MI voters in the primary BECAUSE THEIR PARTY CHOSE TO VIOLATE THEIR OWN RULES became a cause for Clinton only after she realized she needed those votes if she ever had a chance of winning the nomination. And any woman who votes the other party in Nov or stays home just because a female did not make it on the ballot is not worthy of the heritage of Susan B. Anthony! Gender is not the issue!

Obama and Clinton Campaigns Agree that Superdelegates Should Vote for Who They Think Would be the Strongest Candidate for the Party
Top Obama Strategist Axelrod on Superdelegates
From this morning on NBC:
LAUER: Let me ask you about superdelegates. A lot of discussion about the role they’re going to play in all this by the time it’s over and the debate being whether they should vote out of loyalty to a candidate, particularly if they’re elected officials, or whether they should vote the way their state or district votes.
So, when it comes to Senators John Kerry and Senator Ted Kennedy, should they vote for had Barack Obama because they’ve endorsed him or should they vote for Hillary Clinton because the state of Massachusetts voted for Hillary Clinton?
AXELROD: I think that the role of the superdelegate is to act as, sort of, a party elder. These are elected officials from across the country and they’re supposed to exercise their judgment as to what would be best for the party. And as they look at this, they need to decide who would be the strongest candidate for the party…
LAUER: David, you’re not answering. Should those two senators vote for Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton?
AXELROD: I think they and all the superdelegates should vote according to what they think is best for the party and the country. And I think that we need the strongest possible candidate against John McCain…

Senator Clinton will concede in the next few days and support the Democratic Party Nominee Senator Obama.
Chances are high that there is a joint ticket in the making with Senator Clinton as VP.
All these bloggers pretending to be democrats and Clinton supporters that are trying to stem division in the Democratic Party and nothing but Repugnant RepubLosers.
Even Clinton Supporters know that they have no control of her next move.
This is a personal decision for Senator Clinton.
When she decides you guys should fall in line or just shut up.
It is over and there is nothing to be gained by this acrimony.
The unification of the Democratic Party after this long and difficult Primary has started. Please hop on the train before it leaves you behind.

Hillary should NOT GIVE UP! I am so tired of the White House belonging to MEN! Look how the Obama’s Preachers are against women. Wake up America!
We are going backwards and if Obama gets in we will have to fight for our rights all over again. African Americans Wake UP! Have you forgotten that Obama is 1/2 White? Face it he is a White Male with African American Ancestory and the White House has always belonged to the White Male! Hillary is the only one that can change that attitude! Keep Going Hillary!

Bottom line: In spite of what Dr. Gov. Howard Dean, Senator Harry Reid, and Senator Nancy Pelosi say, Senator Obama HAS NO RIGHT to CLAIM the Nomination, UNTIL the SUPERDELEGATES vote at the Convention in Denver on Aug. 25-28, 2008. ENDORSEMENTS do not equal VOTES.
Also, if Obama supporters demand that SUPERDELEGATES vote in accordance with the POPULAR VOTE in their respective state, THEN Sen. Ted Kennedy, Sen. John Kerry and the other 24 SUPERDELEGATES from the Great State of Massachusetts WILL BE VOTING for Senator Hillary Clinton, at the Convention. So, be careful what you demand, folks.

It has been suggested to her, more than once.

Yavo Lem,
I would think long and hard because I really think Senator Clinton would have been the better Nominee, but alas we lost.
I however doubt that in the final analysis I would leave the Democratic Party for a third party that I am absolutely sure would fail.
The good news for me and many like-minded Clinton supporters is that she will say with the party and work for a Democratic victory in November.

Hillary should definitely stay in the race. She is the most qualified & is the only Democratic candidate who can beat McCain. She has endured abuse by every major network & by her own party since she entered the race for President. No matter what has been said or done to her, she picks herself up, turns the other cheek & goes forward. I have yet to figure out what draws people to the ‘other Democratic’ candidate & why he has been given ‘Rock Star’ attention. Keep in mind that Rock Stars fade & Obama will, as well. Hillary is the one to lead our country. Hillary should stay in the race. GO HILLARY!

Hillary should stay. Barack should go. I am disgusted with the race issue with Barack – he should have steared clear of the race issue he is 50/50 – he chose which side to sit on. Hillary is strong minded and has the interests of the middle class in her mind. I believe she will do what she can to make life better for the “new minority”. Barack stated everyone in “his” state has insurance – LIES – I know people that cannot get insurance and have tried for almost a year to find some – insurance is not available for everyone. I believe Hillary would do better on this issue.
Change to Super Candidates – they shouldn’t be able to vote a second time by being able to vote for whoever they want at the convention – and not represent the people in the state. The percentage should be the same as the public vote – for each candidate.

Absolutely amazing that so many Americans just don’t have a clue!!!
How can anyone realistically say, Hillary has the popular vote. It is a self-deception and a gross manipulation of the facts and a blatant act of refusing to follow the rules which the DNA established at the beginning of this process and Clinton as well as Obama and other Democratic contenders agreed to.
What is this? Is there no integrity within the Party or is it so diluted that the rules have been put aside or changed?

Have some dignity Hillary….concede and dispell the misinformation, fear and doubt you and your campaign have spread across America.
Yes, I too believed and wanted to see a women at the helm. BUT it is equally exciting to see a black man (or Barack who is the bridge between both races) assume this position, especially one with integrity and who has denounced the damaging process America’s ‘old politicians’ ran our Country.
Barak is principled, has integrity, a clear vision, good common sense and willing to stand up against the status quo when he believes the direction they are taking is wrong for America. He’s refused to succumb to the same old, seedy ploys and politicas as usual to win the nomination. He is committed to uphold the values our forefathers and mothers laid out as the basis to guide future Americans.
Barak needs not only Hillary and the superdelegates and other Party Members to stand with him … he needs ALL of us to support him to achieve what some say is impossible: turn America and American policies around; lead us in a new direction, guided by high values and ideals, based on transparency, justice, equality, integrity, and honor and respect for all.

What amazes me is how can someone that has so much animosity to our Country(Barack, his wife and their church, their friends…become our next president? Next election…why don’t we nominate someone from the Klu Klux Klan? It would make equal sense!

I believe in Barack and his commitment to change but I think he will be eaten alive, much the way Carter was in his brief tenure. This would not happen to Hillary
If Bush and his venal administration were allowed to stay in power and do the destructive things they’ve done to our country what chance to you think Barack will have against that same machine?
If Hillary and Barack teamed up perhaps she and her posse could protect him and his but I can’t imagine her taking a second seat.
The next four years will see the “sins” of the Bush administration come to fruition. It will take many years to correct the problems left to us. We need strong, moral leaders with the political savvy and power to right the wrongs. I don’t think Barack can do this without her.

Clinton should continue on, even if it means running as an independent. You’d think we would have learned that when we listen to bureaucrats rather than the people, we’re headed for failure. Clinton is experienced, intelligent, and the people’s choice via the popular vote. If we had listened to the people back in 2000, we would have had Gore as president. Instead, we were stuck with Bush for 8 years. Now, we still have a chance to elect Hillary Clinton if we will listen to the people rather than bureaucratic rule makers who want to nominate Obama on a technicality. Obama has too many skeletans in his closet due to his association with anti white, racist churches and pastors. He also was a lawyer defending the health insurance industry, which should raise a red flag as to where his loyalties run. Just as there is a minority of whites who are members of KKK and White Supremist groups, there are fringe members of the black community who are anti-white. Unfortunately, Barack Obama chose to associate with these fringe members for decades. Just because he resigned from his racist church this week doesn’t change the fact that he was a member of that congregation along with his family for two decades. Nightline should do a story on these fringe anti-white hate groups and and their conspiracy theories. I think a lot of caucasion voters would vote for a black candidate but would be disinclined to vote for Obama due to his long affiliation with anti-white hate groups. And I don’t believe that Rev. Wright and Rev. Pfleger (as caught on video recently) were speaking any differently than they usually speak about caucasions and our nation. Obama and his family probably heard 100′s of sermons by these two with the same anti-white, hate message. The average white American is probably not even aware that these anti-white fringe, hate groups even exist. Plus Obama has made sarcastic comments regarding gender – regarding Hillary in her “qualifications,” to be president, and by calling the reporter, “sweety.” I think our nation deserves someone who is above racial and sex differences and I believe that Hillary Clinton is the candidate who would be there for everyone. Plus you can be sure she will make sure every one has access to healthcare. Please, Hillary, don’t drop out like Al Gore did in 2000. Don’t let the bureaucrats decide who will be our next President!

I’ve considered myself a Republican all my life but have supported Hillary during these primaries. I think it is time for Hillary to concede. She’s done a great job and I hope Obama will choose her as his running mate. They will be a good team for the Democrats in the election.

This Iowan voted for Hillary not because she was a woman, but because I feel she could do the job. The thought of Obama being president makes me feel uneasy. I feel the news media owes Hillary an apology, the way she has been treated is unacceptable. We need more factual news coverage & less bias. More respect should have been shown to a class act like Hillary.

stay, hillary! never give up! why give in when you have so many people voting for you?
Obama will never have my vote. we have had 8 yrs of someone trying to learn how to be president. why should obama want to lead us? what are his qualifications other than he has a silk tongue? his ambitions to be president supercede his qualifications! anyone who is not the current president, will offer change. what kind of change does obama offer? can you tell by his previous experience? no, he has none. Interesting that he has removed himself from his church but if he was not a candidate for pres, he would still be a member. i am shocked americans go to a supposed “church” to hear prejudice and insulting propoganda about the United States, the country, that he and his wife, want to be lead.
hillary is the most qualified and most intelligent candidate and has offered the most sensible plan to get us out of the mess we are in.

stay, hillary! you have the most votes!! you represent us, the people! who cares what the back room dealings are, that obama is so successful at, in getting delegate support? why does the democratic party have it set up that way? that behind closed doors, delegates can be bought and sold? hang in there till the convention! you’re our candidate! the candidate of the people!!

Drop Out! As a woman, I am extremely disappointed in Hillary’s lack of humility and unwillingness to get past her own ego. She is showing she is not true to her feminine side and just trying to emulate men. If the situation was reversed and she had the delegates that Obama now has, she would be incensed if he didn’t concede. Obama has demonstrated his incredible leadership skills with the way in which he managed his campaign. Hillary has also demonstrated that her leadership skills are not great – if they were she could have easily won this (it is not a conspiracy, really). If she doesn’t step aside, she runs the risk that her legacy will be John McCain winning.

What if the people want Hillary in office and not obama? If shes out then that means the peoples votes don’t count for nothing. What do the public vote for? I think the people of the USA should decide who gets in not the dumbheads in the government. I won’t bother to vote since even if I do,it don’t count anyway. The delecates have no right to decide anything. The people should.

Clinton should go. She’s the devil. If Obama takes her on he’s gonna be working with Bill not Hilary. GO OBAMA! He should choose someone he can depend on. Just because she came in second does NOT mean that she would be a good vice president…there’s a REASON why she lost.
Posted by: KJB | June 4, 2008, 12:06 am 12:06 am
Clinton should step down. She should not even try to bargain for the vice-presidency as she would be the kiss of death to Barack Obama. Hillary is the polarizing, divisive candidate.
Posted by: Gordon | June 4, 2008, 12:09 am 12:09 am
She gave it her all, and Obama won. We have had enough of the Clintons in the White House. to really bring the change he talks about, Obama needs to choose someone else.
Posted by: Barb Bartel | June 4, 2008, 12:11 am 12:11 am
I don’t think it is to Obama’s best interest to pick Hillary as his VP. The Clintons will make his life miserable barking their ideas and orders to him, and telling him how much more experienced they are. They feel entitled to everything, and they are not the most moral, decent people the US should have on the second spot. All they have done during the campaign is complain about everything that hasn’t gone their way. What can be expected if elected to the 2nd highest office? No thank you, there are people more qualified, and easier to work with to put up with her for 4 years.

The three speaches tonight clearly demonstrated a clear choice as who should lead our country.
Tonight a man was judged by the content of his character and not by the color of his skin. Somehow Hilery missed that. I call that selfish, bitter and a poor loser.

She hurted Obama a lot.
She and Clinton had their turn in the White House for 8 years. That is enough.

Hillary would be more effective in the Senate than as a prop to get Obama elected. She can run again in four more years to defeat McCain’s re-election bid.
Posted by: Maggie F. | June 4, 2008, 12:17 am 12:17 am
NO CLINTON IS NOT A QUITTER. She will be an extreme asset to this country as VP also. Both of them together would be a strong team. I am really for Clinton. But if he choses her as his VP they have my vote if not then it will go to McCain.
I feel the media started this from the very beginning and put Obama on a pedestal. Yes we all make mistakes but Hill should not be punished for what others have done to her. She is a victim but she has overcome it and moved on and is now ready to help America be strong and what it once was again. OBAMA/CLINTON TICKET FOR SURE.
Hillary never quit fighting for us with no healthcare and our jobs moving to other countries and bringing our troops home as soon as we can.

Hillary has shown she has no class and is only interested in her ego. She should have ask the voters to get behind Obama in order to get the DEMOCRATS back in office. She is in denial and can’t accept the fact that there are people out there that have had enough of the Clintons. If she could have been more gracious, people would have continued to stay behind her. She has been an embarrassment to the people who are truly interested in being a Democrat and uniting the party to get the nominee in office. Her husband was a big part of her problem. They seem to believe the the world owes them something just for being The Clintons. NOT !!!

This election has highlighted the racisim in this country. It’s time that white America embraces and understands what it’s like to be a minority in a country that you were born in and that you fight for but yet you are treated like a second class citizen. How can anyone say that Clinton was not treated fairly during this race. There was nothing that the media could find personally on Barack so they took sound bites from his church and played them in such a way that made the minister’s appear negative. That was the agenda and weak minded people fell for the media and the political game. This whole media coverage was a disgrace to use the church as a means to tear someone down. Her speech tonight says she only cares about Hillary Clinton and not the Democratic Party and she was not woman enough to congratulate Barack Obama. NO, she does not need to be his running mate.

I do not believe Hilary should be Obama’s Vice President and my reason for making this statement is her character. A lot of people might see her not quitting as a positive, but I see her aggression as a need to win. I don’t think she handles losing very well and that can be a problem in the long run. Even though she could probably get a lot of things accomplished, what is her motive? That is the question. Is there going to be loyalty in the camp; I don’t think so. But then again, only if it benefits her. Hilary thought she had this situation wrapped up and Obama, being a man of color, took her for a loop. She couldn’t concede defeat for this reason and still tonight, 6/3/08, won’t concede. Her pride is hurt and she is not thinking about the party, but herself. No, I would not put her behind me; that is a scarey thing. I believe Obama can find another option, such as John Edwards.
Posted by: Leslie | June 4, 2008, 12:30 am 12:30 am
The best thing Hillary Clinton can do for the democratic party is to accept defeat and exit graciously and quietly. If there was any chance of her being on the ticket as VP, her deplorable and self-centered speech tonight put an end to that. With her speech, she only proved that her true interest is not about the unity of the party but about her ego and sense of entitlement. I will be extremely disappointed and angry if she is extended the offer to join the ticket. The Commander in Chief needs a vice president he can trust, someone who excepts the role as second in command and not co-leader in charge. Hillary’s presence(and Bill’s) of 4 years in the White House would prove to be polarizing at best. Senator Obama’s desire for a changed America will not be fulfilled with Senator Clinton on the ticket. Nor does he NEED her to win.

Hilary Clinton should be Obama’s Vice Presidential running mate! Setting aside differences and working together would be more than a Dream Team! It is the mature, responsible thing to do for those who trully care to SERVE as our elected officials.
This man and woman working together would not only be an historic first; it would be the greatest thing this planet has ever seen and, lift us out of the despair and debasement we’ve suffered under Bush/Cheney!

I think that Hillary’s talent would be of more use to our country as a cabinet member than the vice-pres. Also, we have to remember it is not just the president that runs the country but that our senators and congress-persons have a say in what happens. So we need to pay attention to who we vote into these positions.

I have watched the Clintons during this race and am convenced that Hillary is obsessed with power; as is her husband Bill. And now that Barak has secured the nomination for the party; she is not being gracious, but rather brutish. Hillary claims to have the welfare of the people at heart but I beg to differ. If this were the case and, her true motive was to unify the democratic party then she would allow Barack to set the pace of the party as he will be the president (if God says the same.) She will NOT be president so she should stop pushing, trying to dominate and control. At this point it is my thought that Brarck would do better without her because just from tonight, we see that she wants to have the last word and we CANNOT HAVE TWO PRESIDENTS at the same time.

I am a white woman who voted for Obama in the primary, but since then I have really began to fear for Obama’s winning the nomination. Not because I think that he won’t make a good President, but because I am afraid that he will not live to be President. I have found that there are Many others that fear this also. Obama is so charismatic, he has the gift to move people into action, and there are those who will fear that gift enough to have him eliminated. Remember MLK and JFK. I am truly frightened of what will happen to this country if that should happen. I wish that Obama and Hilary would work together as a team, with Hilary on the top rung for THIS go around. Obama does not have to be a silent partner in this venture. He can get the experience so many argue that he lacks, and unless they really screw up, we could have 16 years (2 terms for Clinton & 2 terms for Obama) of fantastic democratic leadership to remedy the 8 years of hurt Bush has inflicted on this country. Anyone who’s ever been in the hole knows that it takes twice as long to get out than it took to get in. And this country is definitely in a hole. Why should Obama take 2nd place when he’s sure he can win 1st? For the love of his country! And if the Republicans steal this election as they have in the past, we will have a TWO strong leaders to help us to win our democracy back, for we will have truly lost it.

How can truly trust someone that has tried to tear him down? I am a female and I still think she is a snake. How can you trust someone who has flip flopped more than a cooking flap jack? First she says the votes dont matter but once she was losing then wanted to hehaw about how all votes should matter. She was the only one on the ballot! how could she not win? Can we say OMG! Not once did she acknowledge that he won. All she talked about was ME ME ME, when it should be about US as a country. She is a sore loser and he should choose Edwards.

She should GRACIOUSLY admit defeat. Since she suggested assassination, she has no right to demand the VP slot or any part of Obama’s Cabinet. She should work diligently for the Democratic Party and for Obama.

Hillary should be gracious and concede. She has run a tough, fiercely competitive campaign, but it is time to throw in the towel and do what is right for her party and this country. For all those who think she would make a good running mate, I have to disagree. Her handling of this defeat proves that she cannot subordinate her own ego for the common good. Let her go back to the Senate.

I did entertain the idea of Hillary as a VP to Obama, but her decisions to polarize people and continue to put forth an old vision of power vs. cooperation have laid to rest that idea once and for all. She has created this outcome, when she could have had more say. But I do see her as someone working to make the important health care changes she wanted to in the past. I hope she will contribute in that capacity, and also to fully backing Obama in campaigning for him. I’d like to see her do the right thing and be honorable. Her and her husband’s legacy is dependent on the words and decisions she makes from this point forward.

I know this message is meaningless, because Mrs. Clinton only hears what she wants to hear, and the people who have supported her want her to continue the same divisiveness that she has become so good at.
Anywho, I am so happy that Mr. Obama has won, now maybe we can move beyond the hatred that the Clinton’s have been dishing over the past few months.
Aren’t you people tired of this? Can’t we all just get along? The race is over. Why would anyone in their right mind want someone as a running mate when they stir people to wrath and hate? Hillary’s position in the new administration should be the same as mine, on the couch in front of the TV watching President Obama being sworn in.
Like some one else has already said, you people, yeah I said it, you people need to stop being sore losers. Geezhhh!

Hillary needs to learn humility and get behind the Democratic party’s choice. She is just proving that she does not have the class needed to unite her party and Obama does not need her.
BOTH Clinton’s showed us their true colors while “they” were in office before. She could not control his mouth or his zipper then, she cannot do it now and she will not be able to in the future. They lie (even under oath), cheat and steal (White House furniture-remember)at the drop of a hat to get what they want, and that is what they live.
Where there is smoke there is fire, get rid of her Obama or you will be the one that gets burned, because the Clinton’s somehow *&^% and come up smelling like roses.

Hillary, this is where you and I part. I will now give my money to McCain. I could care less about Roe vs Wade. I could care less about this war, and the economy??? If everyone was with it they would realize that the illegal Mexicans and the economy go hand in hand. They are costing our country millions. Crime is up. They get medical, welfare and food stamps!!! I laugh when I see people out of work and all of the Mexicans are working. Oh, what shall we do? What shall we do? No one will say they are hurting our country. When one man (Tom Tancredo)tried to do something about them, everyone screamed for them to stay. He was one who was trying hard to get rid of them, but he was bad-mouthed and called all kinds of names. So go ahead and lose your homes and your jobs and sit there and wonder why this country is going down the gutter. It is obvious by you screaming for Obama to lead you that you are all not playing with a full deck. The Superdopes, well, that’s a head shaker. I can’t wait to see this and how it all ends. Jimmy Carter says he is a religious man. I am still trying to figure out his endorsement of Obama and how he justified that with Obama’s hate, racist, anti-American church thing. So, I have made my point. Everyone’s thinking is dulled.

The hospital where he claims to have been born…shows no such individual in Hawaii..I believe he is a fraud..and a part of dirty Chicago politics..in addition..it might just show that he is a Muslim..a lot of us believe he is a fraud! He has gained support of party senators etc..because of promises of cabinet posts..and has donated thousands to their campaigns..so he has bought the Presidency! Yes, if she really wants the Democratic Party to win in November. Here’re some observations:
1. From tonight’s sampling, it’s clear that Hillary’s campaign won over many of the ignorant, uneducated, illogical and/or stubborn (to the point of cutting off all of our noses).
2. Sure, Hillary got a lot of Democratic and Independent votes – most likely people who wouldn’t vote for McCain – but she would alienate more Republican voters than she would attract in the General Election.
3. When Hillary said Obama was not qualified to be President, she closed the door on offering him the second spot – and, from my point of view, visa versa.
Finally, if Hillary thinks she can scuttle Obama’s Presidential campaign just to run in 4 years herself, THEN I would vote Republican rather than vote for such a snake.

Senator Clinton’s wounded and vindictive EGO has not only damaged her reputation but would be an absolute disaster in White House. She has proven that considers her vows retractable when she decides it is in her best interest. Just because President Clinton embarrassed her by breaking his while in office, it does not mean that the significance of breaking any vow is inexcusable. Senator Clinton agreed not to include the delegates from Michigan and Florida, yet she believes that reinstating the votes should repair her EGO? Perhaps President Clinton was having his EGO repaired by Ms. Lewinski. Simply put, Senator Clinton’s EGO can not be repaired by placing her in the White House, she needs therapy that addresses more than her marriage, perhaps her denied aspirations from childhood. She has proven to be strong willed and ruthless, shedding a tear in a moment of clarity that she might be defeated. Senator Clinton’s heart is most likely somewhere hidden in an old dust covered box in her childhood home, probably the only way she knew how to protect it from her callous father. Perhaps she’d be better off regressing to find it there rather than looking in the White House.
Senator Obama has not lost interest of the innocent and hopeful heart’s pursuits. He has shared his past, losses, wishes and successes with us as a flawed individual. I admire his brave admittance and ability to ask the nation to par-take in the responsibility to re-build and strengthen the American Dream in to a reality. We have witnessed part of his political maturation during his road to the democratic nomination and I believe his character and steadfastness to be worthy of winning the Presidential Nomination.

Magnanimity by the victor to the vanquished. Sen Hillary Clinton has proven her mettle. What else is there to know about her.
With Sen. Barak Obama, there are so many unknowns which the Republicans will surely exploit ala Mr. Karl Rove.
By choosing Sen. Clinton, Sen. Obama will have a very capable VP.
By choosing Sen. Clinton, Sen. Obama will have begun the healing process.
By choosing Sen. Clinton, Sen. Obama will have united the Democrative Party and the country.
The choice of Sen. Clinton as VP by Sen. Obama, will signal the beginning of real change in the hearts of the people. This would be a brave choice. This will, more than any words, send the signal for unity.

It was a woman who gave birth to Senator Obama, it was a woman who supported him to get into the Senate, and it’s a woman who is winning the popular vote NOW, so yes, she needs to offer Senator Obama a VP position; this way Senator Obama will have an opportunity to gain more experience. To act on your guilt now, may be too costly….
Both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton will be the Presidents, just in slightly different order. Allow American People the opportunity to get to know and observe the Obamas.
Remember that Superdelegates can and will change their positions by the end of August.

Both Florida and Mich. already paid a big price in no one going there and spending money to get votes. It was not the voters fault. In fact in Florida the day to vote was decided by republicans.

IF HILLARY HAS SO MANY DEMOCRATS BEHIND HER, WHY ARE HER COMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS FROM LARGE CORPORATIONS RATHER THEN FROM HER 18 MILLION SUPPORTERS? DO THE SUPPORTERS REALLY CARE ABOUT HER OR JUST WINNING THE ELECTION? DOES SHE REALLY CARE ABOUT HER SUPPORTERS OR WILL HER INTEREST REALLY LIE WITH THE LARGE CORPORATIONS WHO DONATED TO HER COMPAIGN? WILL HILLARY STICK WITH THE LARGE CORPORATE CEO’S AND HAVE EVERYONE THINKING THEY ARE LIVING FINE, AS BILL DID WHEN HE WAS IN OFFICE, AND THEN THE BALL DROPPED AND WE HAD ENRON. WILL WE HAVE THE SAME THING IF SHE BECOMES PRESIDENT? Obama should not consider Hillary for the Vice Presidency. I feel that she would only try to undermine his programs to make him look incompetent. If he is incompetent, let him take the fall on his own. If Hillary wants the Presidency, she should run again in 2012. Then she could pair up with her husband for the Presidency and Vice-Presidency. Together they could both rip off the government and the American people as they did before, and they could probably end up being billionaires by the time they leave the White House. If they came into the White House with no money, but in 10 to 12 years they are worth well over 100 million which does not include their property, jewelry, etc., seems politics is a very lucrative business. MAYBE ONE OF THESE YEARS THE UNITED STATES WILL FIND A PERSON THAT IS REALLY INTERESTED IN THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY “AND NOT JUST THE LARGE CORPORATIONS, MULTI-MILLIONAIRES AND THE LINING OF THEIR OWN POCKETS” TO BECOME RICH AND FAMOUS. WILL WE EVER SEE A PRESIDENT THAT HAS REAL INTEGRITY? I HOPE SO FOR THIS COUNTRY’S SAKE.

There is only one word to describe Senator Clinton’s action yesterday: Unbelievable!
She fought hard, sometimes dirty and longer than most other candidates would have. But the people have spoken and Barrack Obama is the Democratic nominee. Yesterday was her final moment to leave the primary race with her dignity and respect intact. But she chose not to. The question is why? Is this smart politics or conniving to the ruthless end?
The Clintons have demonstrated a spirit of entitlement throughout this primary race—that they have a right to be in the White house again. The priest in Illinois was right. We have all thought it, some have verbalized it and he should not be punished for stating the obvious.
Senator Clinton lost her chance to be on the ticket when she refused to endorse Barrack Obama yesterday. Under no circumstances should any member of Senator Obama’s team or the Democratic Party even consider having Senator Clinton on the ticket. The Clintons have been spoilt sports in this race and is not deserving of any special privileges. Let them go lick their wounds and prepare for their next run, the Chelsea campaign for President.
The alleged 18 million who supports her would likely not have voted for her had there been a white male on the ticket. They don’t like a woman running the country any more than they would a black man. But I am guessing that some will come around when faced with the choice of continued economic hardship or possible better times with “Change”.
At first, I was excited at the prospect of a woman president but she soon changed my mind. As a woman, I have yet to meet another woman who supports her. Frankly, the ones I have spoken to have been embarrassed by her actions over this primary race. It is okay for her to lie and we are expected to forgive her lapse in memory but not Obama’s.
For the record, had the media called a spade a spade long ago, she would have been out of the race. But the media continues to give cover to those who prefer to hate in the dark. Hoods and gowns don’t work here but demographic titles that allow the racists to say one thing to pollsters and hide their hatred under titles of “low-income”, “under-educated”, rural voters kept Senator Clinton’s campaign alive. What’s in a name? Everything! Change is in a name. Until these people are recognized by mainstream media for who they really are, “hardcore racists”, America will never change. How does America expects to lead the world as a superpower with these archaic beliefs, that people of color are “less than.” Take a good look around America, people of color or multiculturalism represents the majority of the world’s population. Isn’t it time we all unite and be the human race that we are?
Senator Clinton, the fat lady has not only sung but has left the stage. Isn’t it time you joined her? A Clinton on the ticket is not “change” but old rhetoric in a new bottle.

I’m deeply disappointed in Hillary Clinton and her lack of graciousness. Instead of acknowledging the historic moment of the first African American nominee for a major political party, Hillary remained in ego and self entitlement. Barack spoke of her historic achievement, why couldn’t she do the same? I would have expected more of a runner up in a Student Council election. Hillary had months to prepare for this possibility; the fact that she handled this so poorly points to her true motives and character.
Every time a woman doesn’t get a job or win an election is isn’t sexism, just like every time a Black person doesn’t get a job or win an election it isn’t racism. Hillary showed she is not able to be a team player, but she will cry sexism when is isn’t selected to be his VP. It will be her character not her gender. She is not ready to support the nominee and thud is an inappropriate choice for VP.
As someone already said, if she were the VP nominee, Barack would need more security detail.

Definitely not, unless Obama wants to lose to McCain. I am a Republican, middle class white woman, and I will certainly vote for Obama unless he decides to put Hilary on his ticket. If he does, as much as I don’t like McCain, I would go and campaign for him to assure that Hilary didn’t get within 10 feet of the White House! Obama needs someone a little bit more conservative to balance out his ticket.

There is something wrong with this whole picture. No one has been “nominated” to anything yet. All of them, Obama, Clinton, McCain, et al, turned in some paperwork, probably paid a fee and said, “I’m running for President”. A bunch of people gave them some money so they could run all over the country and get people to say, “Yup, yup, you should be President”.
When did this so called NOMINATING happen.
The two major parties will have big parties in Denver and St Paul to do who the heck knows what. Nominate? Vote on prospective candidates? Why bother? Well I don’t know about Denver but they’ll be getting drunk in St.Paul. They passed a 4:00 a.m. bar closing law just for that party.
Our system for choosing our government has turned into the silliest side show imaginable. We deserve what we get.

I go not believe Clinton has handled her loss well; she has behaved like a spoiled child who refuses to take no for an answer. She appealed for comments on her web site because she was still searching for away to challenge Obama while making it appear as thought she were merely caring about her supporters. How dumb does she think we older white women are?

Absolutely NOT!!! Senator Clinton needs to accept defeat and CONGRATULATE the Demoncratic nominee…Senator Obama. I have lost all respect for her during this campaign. She has not showed any grace or true leadership. Yes, she has fought hard, but very dirty. What do I say to my cousin who wants to be the President of the USA? Surely, I would tell her NOT to follow in Clinton’s foot steps of running a shady campaigne.

It’s time for Hillary to let this whole thing go. It is very evident that the Clintons are all about promoting themselves and their agenda. They are incapable of truly supporting someone who has won something they wanted. I say “them” because you can bet Bill Clinton will be just as involved in our gov. as Hillary if she is made vice-president. Bill Clinton scares me with his lack of judgment in speech, behavior and temper.
I say this as a working class white woman who is tired of hearing that we all fully support Hillary Clinton. This working class white woman doesn’t vote for someone just because she’s a woman! I’m ready for a change and the Clinton’s are certainly not a change.

What Hilary Clinton did was not only disrespectful to Barack Obama but to her Democratic party. Although she insists on doing what’s best for the party she has consistently acted selfishly and as a rogue agent out for herself. After eight years in the White House, with her husband often championing the causes of blacks and other visible minorities, both of their actions have been lowly and undeserving of support. Race does play an issue, if Obama were white she wouldn’t have tried to change the rules in the 9th inning (including Florida & Michigan), mud-slinging and worst of all encouraging her former President Bill to engage in the process. Neither party is more innocent than the other – aside from their ‘win at all cost’ mantra what is most surprising out of all of this is the sense of entitlement the Clinton’s have. How can you demand a job that hasn’t even been posted? from the CEO at that? In the beginning I supported the fact that Hilary was a women and wanted to follow her dream of becoming President of the United States – that in mind, I looked at her stance on various issues and her responses to questions posed by media and fellow candidates. Obama’s point of view and answers are more in line with change and realistic views of how to fix problems. Hilary offered endless hallmark sayings about ‘helping’ Americans and ‘seeing’ those who live in poverty & despair, yet didn’t offer concrete plans and ideas of how to get there. If Hilary were truly dedicated to her party and not ‘the Clinton legacy’ (which has by-the-way now been ruined with their narcissistic arrogance) she would have taken the opportunity last night to congratulate Senator Obama and champion his causes as the causes of the party. Now more than ever I feel it’s important to examine what kind of leader and very near future Americans and citizens of the world (I’m not American, I’m Canadian) we’re interested in. If her supporters – mothers/sisters/fathers of war veterans that have lost their lives, suffered at the hands of the war in Iraq, victims of outsourcing, suffers of poverty, lack of health care, affordable housing, affordable education and I could go on are willing to throw their voice (vote) away to the Republicans as an ultimate sign of their support of Hilary and hatred/dislike of Obama…the ultimate impact will be felt by them. This isn’t American Idol, this is real life with real consequences and suffering. Democratic voters should base their votes on the issues that impact their lives/communties/country the most because when everything is over Hilary will still be better off than any of you and then you’ll see just how ‘dedicated’ she is to helping you out of your quagmire.
Thank you and goodnite.
Sincerely,
Alicia Campbell

NO She should NOT Go!!
But its obvious that Obama is the nominee now and the way the media has made him the protagonist. Hillary has no choice but to step down. It will be interesting to see how the next few months play out. With out Hillary on the ticket I can’t vote for Obama.

I think Senator Clinton’s delay to concede the DNC winner is tacky and unsophisticated on her part at this point.
I also see her delay as racist–she can’t conceive the fact that a Black man actually beat her.

I think that Hillary Clinton should stay in the race. Why not let it go to convention? Who knows what the future will bring to Barrack Obama? He is NOT the presidential nominee for the democratic party. The convention in August will make the decision of who the nominee is, and just because he reached the magic number does not mean he will have the party’s support in August (the one that ultimately matters). Rumors of racist tapes from Michelle Obama, and the good old Reverend are just the beginning of what will be brought up. We all like to talk about how this is a racist campaign, but the only person bringing race up is Obama and his supporters. I look to a canidate for what they bring to the table, not gender or race. Obama’s indecision as Senator (voting “present” is not something you can do as President), and support from terrorist groups, causes worry to me, as it should to other Americans.

I really don’t think she should leave. Her supporters are still with her. The media is definitely weighing in on this entirely too much. How can Obama declare he’s the Democratic Presidential Nominee when they haven’t even had the convention… oh wee you got as Angela stated “the magic number” give me a break! Hillary should stand her ground and continue on until the convention. Anyone who says she’s splitting the party is very naive… it was split long before Hillary and Obama came along. Hillary keep up the good fight!

No, I don’t think Hillary should be on the ticket as Vice President. Clearly Obama would not be able to accomplish his goals with Hillary & Bill undermining whatever they could.. I would love to see John Edwards as Vice President.

Get used to President John McCain!
What’s happed at the Democratic Presidential Primary race was a true tragedy for Sen. Hillary Clinton and for our country if not for the entire world. The Democratic super-delegates have abandoned their role as party leaders, for the purpose they were exactly created for. They were paralyzed and dysfunctional lot, most of them without a backbone, full of sentimentalities, various kinds of social and cultural justifications but unsuited make tough decisions that our country needs. You saw them in session in Washington DC last weekend. Did you ask yourself the question, are these are the cream of sum-collective of our political leadership of the Democratic Party? Not being able to vote against Sen. Barack Obama─ afraid it would be considered “racist” ─Democratic Party leaders and super-delegates have let unelectable Sen. Obama as their party’s nominee. But this is unfortunate because Sen. Obama can’t win against Sen. John McCain. We all knew that. Sen. Obama’s base of support is too narrow, having won most of delegates through caucus states. Not having won a single major state and not being able to get the support of wide segments of voters Sen. Obama is unelectable. It would be helpful to anyone who doubts this hypothesis to read “Vote by Numbers” column by an astrophysicist named Neil DeGrasse Tyson on 6-6-08 in the New York Times. It says, “If the general election were held today, Barack Obama would lose to John McCain, while Mr. McCain would lose to Mrs. Clinton. This conclusion comes not from wishful thinking but from a new method of analysis of statistics of polls that has been accepted for publication in the journal of Mathematical and Computer Modeling. The authors, J. Richard Gott III, a professor at Princeton and Wes Colley, a researcher at the University at Alabama in Huntsville, are not politicians. They are astrophysicists. And one of the tasks of scientists is to clarify the apparent complexity of the universe by using the language of mathematics… ” I don’t think we needed a these scientists to tell us what’s going to happen in November. This situation is not going to change. The Democratic Super-delegates with the helped the American media are electing Sen. John McCain as our next president. We can look forward to a George Bush’s third term in November 08. Get used to it.

Charleychaplin,
I agree. Thanks for the great post.
DNC and the Superdelegates seemed to be ignore all the voters’ wills.
When we watch tv all the pundits say Dems will unite, no worry about it.
The truth, I talked to most of Hillary’s supporters they don’t want to vote for Obama in the GE.
Well..we’ll see in November..

I think Hillary should stay. Don’t accept defeat. The people voted for her and we want her. This whole election process should be overhauled and rewritten. It’s a joke. Why vote if the electoral votes and delegates pick who they want? I called the delegates in my state and chewed them out and told them they could forget about my vote in the next election because they voted for Obama and that includes Governor Beshear who announced today he supports Obama. I will in fact work against them in the next election even if it means supporting a Republican to beat them. The delegates were announcing their support for Obama before we even voted in the primary! Talk about gall. I would at least have waited until the primary to see what the people who put my butt in office wanted. Stay Hillary until August. There’s a grass roots movement to turn this thing around for August. Call or write Howard Dean and complain about this travisty.
