Fake Restaurant Wins Wine Spectator Award

Wine critic Robin Goldstein has exposed something quite delicious.  He set out to test the validity of all those wine and food awards. So he made up a fake restaurant, creating a bogus website replete with a fake wine list and menus.  And then put in for awards.  Guess what?  He ended up winning a Wine Spectator magazine award of excellence for his restaurant, the one that doesn’t exist.  "I am interested in what’s behind all the ratings and reviews we read … The level of scrutiny is not sufficient," Goldstein said.
