Michelle’s Speech — How Many Mentions of “Barack,” “America,” “Hillary”
The Washington Post has put together a very telling "tag cloud" regarding Michelle Obama’s speech last night. It takes words she used and shows them in size proportional to the number of times she used them. Hint: "Barack" is really big. "Clinton"? Not so much.

How’s that telling, though? He’s receiving the nomination. And she’s his wife. Should she have spent the speech on Clinton? Yes, the Democrats need to mend fences with Hillary supporters, but should that be her job specifically (as opposed to, say, the nominee’s)? And would focusing repeatedly on whatever rift exists really the way to do it?

Some polls are out and Obama has lost points after the Biden announcement.
This is getting fun.

Has any other presidential candidate EVER experienced a “negative” bounce after announcing a VP?
Nancy and the DNC must be really proud of themselves for pulling this one off (snicker).
ROFLMAO!!!!!!

Hey,
McCain was a POW 40 YEARS AGO!!!! 40 YEARS!!! Times have changed…move on!!!! He’s an old man now, he’s always been a hot head, from the time he was young to now. He’s rich…let him live out his life as a senator. It’s to late for him.

Hillary has a thin resume just like Obama. Hillary’s 35 years in and around politicians does not qualify her has president or vice-president. She never was held responsible for anything until she got to the Senate. Biden was the right choice. Regardless of 18 million votes, they are suppose to unite. She was beaten by someone smarter. Not to worry, Rush Limbough’s chaos, moved her closer. The Republiicans were hoping she would have won, they’ve got so much dirt on her and her husband that Hillary supports would have went into hiding. embarassed. Do your homework!
BTW…I’ve always liked Hillary and still do. I made the best choice based on my homework. I advise all of you to do the same.
Now do your homework on Biden, McCain and Romney.

Michelle did something important for my area of the US — rural Missouri: She showed that her family is the same as white families across the US. Many of my Democrat friends, senior citizens, still call Obama “that Negro young man.” Michelle (and her daughters) was great as showing those people that her extended family is the same as most American families, no matter the color or ethnicity.

Victor,
I agree with your comment regarding Barack Obama’s choice for VP. You have shown that there are still people who do research before forming an opinion. Of course many people won’t bother with research. Why should they when someone will happily tell them what to think. Hillary Clinton is going back to the drawing board; by doing so she can obtain more political experience as a senator. She will be able to add to the knowledge if she becomes Senate Majority Leader or the top spot in New York state. In time she’ll be able to come back and run again. Clinton will stand a better chance when the time comes, and I truly hope she does run again. People really shouldn’t count her out; she doesn’t strike me as the giving up sort.
