Netflix Back. Mail Carriers Bummed

Netflix said those little red envelopes will be back in the mail today.  The probs are fixed.  Reading the posts it seems a lot of you are pro Netflix despite On Demand.  Hmm.

I have Netflix and I love it. Their problme is that they are delivering physical media (DVDs) through a slow medium (the Postal Service). What they need to do is transform themselves into a Video on Demand service that is distributed through cable services. I have AT&T U-Verse which sends IP video streams of TV channels to my home. Using this kind of technology a company like Netflix could stream every movie or TV show ever made to you. It would take a ton of storage and bandwidth, but it could be done. It would be a stable income stream for Netflix and provide a great service feature. The biggest problem would be searching for what you wanted to see. As more bills and other letters are sent via email, the Postal Service is going to die a slow death.

NetFlix also has an “On-Demand” option, and it will grow. LG is about ready to release a set top box to work with Netflix for HDTV on demand movies.
