You know, after hearing Biden say that, it really does seem that team Obama plans on pulling the old switcheroo and replacing Biden with Hillary.
Problem with that is, although it will definitely shift the spotlight back on his campaign, it will also be seen by many as a sign of weakness and low confidence.
Honestly, if that were to happen, the ticket should be Clinton/Obama and not Obama/Clinton. Otherwise, who’s going to trust a president who is constantly second guessing himself and basing his decisions on whatever’s popular at the moment. That’s not a sign of a strong leader. Besides, Hillary is indeed the one with experience and would make a better leader than Obama, that much is true. Of course, in the wake of Sarah Palin it will look more like an act of desperation than a bold decision.

I am getting really sick of the republicans they are getting out of control. It was nice of Joe to say that, Hillary has certainly done enough for Obama. My queston for Obama supporters who keep saying that if Obama wins Hillary will be secretary of state, what makes you say this? why would any Hillary supporter beleive this? If Obama won I wouldn’t put it past him to bankroll someone to run against Hillary for her senate seat, they are already gonna kick Liberman out. The job I had before that was where my predecessor sued for $250,000 and won for wage discrimination.
So when I was fired in 1981 I decided it was a waste of time to look for a job because I felt it was ridiculous to waste my time convincing somebody that I would actually work at their stupid job. So I formed my own company. I knew I’d be great to work for, and I have been for the past 30 years. And I love business and I don’t think I should be penalized for my hard work by paying for health insurance for people who don’t or won’t work.

You cannot bridge the divide and succeed without Clinton herself on the ticket. Many voters will see through that, and will not pull the lever for you, no matter how big your crowds and how many your high profile endorsements. Actually, I am angry at Obama. He has blown it for the Democrats. The polls spell it out — when he should be leading by leaps and bounds, he is barely treading water against McCain. He did this by his own poor judgments, not actions of Hillary nor Bill. Yes, he has a history of poor judgments, and the latest one was to fail to mend fences with the Clinton wing of the party. Instead, he continued to throw mud-in-your-face. Then, we have the test of Russia vs. Georgia, when he maintained his talk-nice stance when even the Europeans are on pins and needles.

If Obama had been a mature man, ready for leadership, he would have embraced Clinton as VP, notwithstanding that Bill may have ended up wandering the White House corridors, or that he may have some problem with Hillary’s disposition. Instead, he has defiantly thrown away the opportunity for Democratic victory. He is flawed. Perhaps it is worse. Perhaps he is unstable. This could pose a danger for our future.
I do not want a McCain victory. I do like many, if not all, of the policies expressed by Obama. But can we trust Obama to mean what he says, say what he means, and take reality into consideration? I cannot be complicit in his election. I cannot vote for this mistake.
Those who voted for Obama in the primaries succumbed to his ambiguous siren call for change. You blew it. It is a mirror of those who elected Bush in 2000 and again in 2004, only recently coming to terms with the consequences of those votes.
For all her character flaws, Clinton was the real thing. We had eight years of her husband, and things were really not so bad. If she were the candidate, either at the head of the ticket or as VP, the election would be a no brainer at this point. McCain would be Mc Lame.
Woe is we, who had such opportunity to remediate the damage of these past eight years. Now it is too late, and the best we can do is to elect such a lopsided Democratic congress as to offset the Republican partisan pressures that no doubt will do their best to influence a President McCain. At least McCain is known to reach across the aisle to work with the opposition, which is more than has been demonstrated by Obama.

I do believe that the two of you cannot win against McCain & Palin.
As painful as it may be for you to hear, Barack made a mistake in selecting you, and you made a mistake in seeking the selection. The only winning Democratic ticket is Obama-Clinton. If you were to step aside, for any reason you can come up with, then Barack could mend fences with Hillary and ask her to take your place. I beg that you consider this for the good of the Democratic party and the country. Otherwise, you will wage a valiant battle but likely lose.
Barack would never ask you to do this. In fact, he will try to dissuade you. Also, that he is averse to bringing Hillary on board. You need to be the stronger, more mature voice to temper his position through the influence of your wisdom and personal sacrifice.
Obama should never have provided the opening for McCain to select Palin. The Obama ticket needs a surprise to counter McCain’s surprise. Please be brave and wise, and give up now what you are likely to not succeed in securing anyway. Then, when Obama-Clinton win, you will be the most revered man in the country.

Barry believed the hype. He won half his party’s votes which is about a quarter of the electorate. Yet he took the risk of going into the general elections without a united party. In the end, if he loses, then so be it. He is more than qualify to sustain himself and his family.

She sees another woman who has qualities in common with her. Frankly, if Hillary joins Obama on his losing ticket, she’ll lose all the hard-won respect she earned in this quarter and still lose the race. Obama’s a sinking ship. Hillary’s smart enough to figure out that the arrogant moron, who slapped her in the face by refusing to consider her as veep, should be left to drown in his own arrogance and bad judgment … unless, of course, he put her on the top of the ticket. Here is an idea that everyone can get behind…ready, first Election McCain President and keep the Dems in Control of both Houses of Congress. Then after the election, stop giving them money for campaigns, union dues, etc. Then we put all of our respective nutcases from both parties outside the Capitol Building to protest until they start reducing the wasteful budgets, erase deceitful tax codes, and remove lobbyists from their collective asses. Let me try to follow the logic. If a black person votes for the white candidate it is race betrayal. If a woman votes for McCain/Palin she is not a true feminist. My best friend and business partner (who happens to be black), is candid in acknowledging the reality in the black community that Obama represents an emotional balm for, in his words, a really messed up and deeply emotionally wounded black community. He readily admits the double standard and reverse racism in the black community runs VERY DEEP and is VERY REAL. He, like me, find it very depressing. Specifically, that so many people in the black community need someone to give them validation. The hole that the black community has dug itself into by never looking inward to self, is a hole that gets deeper and deeper. Self reliance and personal accountability is the only hope for real change (that and God). Anyone who is supporting Obama merely because of the color of his skin is blind to the perpetuation of the root cause for their own demise (and probably from a long lineage waiting for the right person or governmental entity to change their plight). Without looking inward, I guarantee that your life and the life of your children will NEVER change. Like Dr. King, I have a dream. A lot here seem to be missing an important point: if Hillary were the nominee, Sarah would still be the phenom she is and Hillary would be on the ropes now…only Sarah would have been more able to take on Hillary’s feminism directly rather trying to get Hillary’s people on board instead.

Did anyone here watch Sarah Palin’s speech in Alaska when she got home last night?
The Democrats real problem with Sarah Palin is not that she is a woman, but that she is just so darned charming and smart.
She gave a 20 minute speech last night with no script and there wasn’t a single misplaced word, not a single um, or ah, or oh, or other Obamaism.
I am a professional public speaker and I doubt I could do that.
Sarah Palin is impressive.

Obama made the right choice, at least as far as not picking Clinto as a running mate. If he were elected with Clinton as a VP, she would have spent the next four years stabbing him in the back and doing all she could to undermine him. He’s a lot safer with Joe Biden.

There is no way a Obama/Clinton ticket would win now. If that were his initial choice, then yes they would’ve easily won. Now, it would be like Obama saying, uhhhh well, I made a mistake picking Joe Biden, so I am now picking Hillary and we want to win. What a crock of CRAP! Are we that stupid? I do belive this opens the door for Biden to step away and I know they are discussing it. Clinton should be asking herself, if Obama could make this big of a mistake with so much on the line, then it does show his lack of experience, and swapping Biden out for me will just show he’s not up to the task. If the Dems are honest with themselves they have to see that the nomination of Palin, a VP choice, 2nd in command, with no real power has over shadowed their primary #1 choice to lead the country. I just heard two weeks of discussions in the media of how Palin and Obama compare with experinece. When the best the Dems can do is say the person we want to run the country has comparable experinece to the Republicans second stringer that’s a big Ouch for the Dems. Changing Biden will not help the ticket and will hurt Clinton far more then help her.

I’m an independent and have voted for both Dems and Repubs in the past. Probably more Democrats.
I was all set to vote Democrat this year…until recently. First off, Obama is to the left of Bernie ‘Socialist’ Sanders and McCain is almost a Democrat. The more I look into Obama, the more I see an extremist. The more I look at McCain, the more I see a guy who bucks his own party and works with Democrats. The same goes for Palin. Those are on-the-record facts. Now, it seems the Obama shine has wore off and he has been exposed as the empty suit extremist that the RNC had originally painted him. The media is completely in the tank for Obama and he still cannot get any traction. Once again, the Democrat party brings us an EXTREME left wing choice. Just like John Kerry. If the Dems EVER want to win again, they need to nominate a more middle-of-the-road Dem, like Clinton. Like the Al Gore of 1988 or 1992. A moderate Dem would kick any Republicans butt! But, alas, as my UAW grandpa said to me….the nutjobs at moveon.org and George Soros have taken over our once great party. 1992 was not that long ago! Alas, I am voting for McCain/Palin.

There are two reasons Hillary won’t be chosen to replace Biden:

While I think Biden’s comments have been overblown (he was trying, I think, to offer a sincere compliment to Clinton), he must grasp the fact that he isn’t speaking in an arcane Senate hearing that even C-SPAN wouldn’t cover. He’s in the bigs now and every word matters. If Biden takes his Senate “rambler” approach into the debate with Palin, he’ll kill the ticket. It is Biden, not Plain, who should be brushing up for the debate.
