Deal? No Deal? Debate?

There’s a deal on "principles" regarding a bailout package…but John McCain says he won’t go to a debate until and unless a deal is done. Senator Obama says, effectively, a candidate for president ought to be able to multitask — to participate in the discussions and vote in Washington, and to take time to go to the debate. What do you think?

obama can’t multi-task.. he can’t single task.
he’s ticked that his 3 days of prep for the debate are being interrupted by a national emergency.
he’s a no-tasker

ABSOLUTELY a candidate needs to be able to multitask. It makes no sense to “suspend” a campaign – each candidate has plenty of staffers and surrogates to keep the campaigns going, even if they are temporarily called back to Washington. Even then….I highly doubt their presence is going to be required or missed at 8pm on a Friday night. The candidates presence in Washington will only distract the process…and according to all news sources, they were close to a package before McCain even decided to change his plans…so this is clearly a political move on his part. Old politics…no change. Same ol’ same ole….

Funny…I would have said the same thing about McCain.

Obama is right. If McCain wants the people to seriously consider him “presidential” then he should be able to do more than one thing at a time. Then again his campaign doesn’t let Palin talk to reporters even.

McCain has no idea what his economic stance is from one moment to another. He changes his mind every 12-24 hours (depending on what seems “popular” at that given time). He would probably have more credibility if his CO office hadn’t accidently sent out the memo instructing how his people should campaign about the “suspended campaign”. If he really cared about the economy, he should have suspended his campaign a long time ago and let the Republicans have a real candidate, with real substance, values and conviction. McCain doesn’t cut it.

Multi-task is right. Its absurd to think that McCain needed to (or actually did) suspend his campaign.
He used to the word suspend to give his actions more ‘umph’…I’m just not sure its the ‘umph’ he wanted.
The debate is ON…it’ll be a Townhall for Obama if McCain is a no-show.
Me thinks McCain will show

Senators Obama and McCain owe it to the American public to debate this Friday, and comment on both of their positions on the economy. Recognizing that this is a foreign policy debate, the economy now is a global one, and the US economic troubles are spilling over into the global neighborhood. The debate should go forward with as much urgency as the passage of some sort of credibility-restoring legislation.

If a deal is not done and McCain doesn’t show for the debate, he better be feverishly working to strike a deal on Friday night.

Is that why Obama had to retire for 3 days to rehearse for the debates? So that he could do “more than one thing at a time?” What a two-faced fake.
He’s just throwing a hissy fit because he’s going to forget all this stuff and he’ll have to cram for the test again next week.

No, chucky.
The two candidates owe it to the American public to help straighten out the monumental fiasco that we have on wall street before we start losing jobs and homes.

Perhaps, chucky, you are young and you don’t realize the mess we are in. Young people have only seen the easy credit and good times. You have no idea what this could turn into.
