New Poll: McCain Bounces Ahead of Obama
It’s perhaps the most buzzed about political story of the day. A new USA Today/Gallup poll from over the weekend finds that the convention and Sarah Palin has been very good to John McCain. McCain leads Obama 50% to 46% among likely voters. Just before both conventions kicked off the same poll found Obama leading by 7 points.

A poll of registered voters who’ve voted in the last two elections? Not very accurate, if you ask me.
You will see the only poll that matters come November, and with the results – hear the voices of the millions coming to the table for the first time.

If that is the small size of the McCain convention bounce, bye bye McCain!

Americans,
Please vote for John McCain. He is the rest of the world’s only hope in finally completing the job George Bush started 8 years ago. i.e. the drastic reduction of American power and its influence in the world and of course the destruction of the American domestic economy.
Vote McCain-Palin to complete the job of destroying the United States.
Some of us are so excited and cant wait for President McCain.

Post-convention bounce. I wonder if these polls include the younger generation, who don’t have “land” phone lines, only cell phones. I’ve never been called for a poll on my cell phone…

This just proves that there are more mindless followers than right thinking people. There is the truth supported by facts, then there is what you want to believe. It comes from a history of racism and bigotry. McCain and Palin shovels loads of bs on the masses who know in their heart of hearts that it’s all BS but because of personal prejudice, they support more of the same. We all know that Palin is a fraud put out there to give a nice face to Republican Propaganda, we know that the wealthy 2% of this country cannot afford to allow change to come to washington… what the republicans an people like Rove know, is that there are many Americans who are just plain stupid and/or racist and need something to make them feel justified in going against their good conscience and logic. It is appauling and downright disgraceful the way this election is heading, and sad that this country may be damned further down the hole when Palin goes to talk to Putin or anyone else… no wonder the Europeans are laughing at us… the republicans just know they can trust the ignorance of the uninformed and the racism of the many who hate real change. Hypocrisy is the order of the day and posterity will look back and remember just how stupid and biggoted this generation is. The media is a biased joke… am very certain whatever questions Palin faces, she would have had them already, just like how McCane had them before hand with that Evangelical guy… as for the pundits on TV, man how I wish i could ask them a few questions… STUPID STUPID STUPID, that’s what we are… heaven help us see the truth and what the republicans represent LIES!!!!!!!!

Obama in primary underperformed almost every poll except in Indiana. The 4-point McCain lead is really substantial. It is going to be a 8 to 12 points win for Mcain in the fall.

Where was Obama’s bounce ? Apparently there wasn’t one. Glad Obama didn’t pick Hillary because she can run again in 4 years. She will win next time around – not a doubt in anyone’s mind. McCain and Palin are a shoe-in. Good enough for now – much better than Obama.

Bill, I too admire Hillary, but a McCain victory is the last thing her supporters should want. Palin would be in position to be the first elected woman president. Hillary would have the disadvantage of running against a sitting woman VP.

Palin’s husband Todd, a “professional” snowmobile racer (LOL), interferred in the trooper-gate scandal. She is trying to supress hundreds of e-mails between Todd and government officials in Alaska relative to the firing of Sarah’s former brother-in-law. Gotta love it!

I knew all along that this would happen. Obama being given the nomination over Hillary was the ultimate example of a more-qualified woman being passed over for a less-qualified man. Since that happened, Obama’s hubris has been galling, and culminated in his passing over Hillary for VP. Now, he and the DNC will get exactly what they deserve: Many angry feminists like me will stay home, and Obama’s McGovernesque “coalition” will not be able to stop a McCain victory…

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE STUPIDITY AND GULLIBILITY OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC!
McCain/Palin do have a shot. Bush’s two terms prove it. Just wave a flag and say “freedom” and “patriotism” and some people will vote for you – regardless of beliefs or qualifications.
Republicans want to pretend the last eight year never happened and that “Mr Change McCain” is different.
Have you even noticed that “Johnny Maverick” has reversed HIS OWN beliefs to suck up to the far right of his party? And he’s going to change Washington?
Yah, some “change”.

Community organizers is a phrase with many meetings. In Chicago, it means you ‘convince’ people to support their local alderman and give their money to the Mayor. It means using your corrupt contacts to get favors from gangsters and to connive with known terrorists.

Obama is a liar.
Obama is a fraud.
Obama is the worst presidential candidate in history.
Americans are too smart to be fooled by this man.
That is why McCain is winning.
The GOP convention, especially mcCain and Palin’s speech, got a bigger ratings audience than than Obama’s and Biden’s speeches, even though Obama got free media publicity, and the DNC was broadcast on more networks, and the RNC lost a day due to Gustav.
The RNC bump is huge. Not only did it quickly erase Obama’s convention bump, it was bigger because now McCain is in the lead.
Nobody cares about Obama anymore. His “change” mantra is useless now that he hired on old timer Biden.
America, we can not afford 4 more years of old washington politics and lies with Obama-Biden-Bush.
change America, fight for America.
We are in this together.
McCain is the ONE we have been waiting for.
Please don’t let this remarkable piece of history slip by. The Obama followers will try to fool you with hype, but you are too smart for that. Don’t let them fool you.

What’s that? He has NONE??? Then, you have no credibility, so good bye now, thanks for playin’!
Interesting, though, Obama DOES have executive experience, running the 100 million dollar Annenberg Challenge, yet he NEVER EVER mentions it, simply because it was a collosal failure and supported by a known terrorist. But, the truth will come out.

I am very upset because If Obama would’ve considered Hillary as VP, then we would have a fighting chance to win in November. All this crap about Hillary having high negatives and would be a roadblock for Obama to win election, is a bunch of horse manure. I believe there are people in our society that won’t vote for a black guy and that is a shame but it’s reality. The Republicans loved the fact that the Obama supporters was creating a big fuss about Hillary and what does he do, he goes out and get Joe Biden. With Nancy Pelosi not supporting the Obama/Hillary ticket and infighting among the Democrats, I feel we blew our opportunity to win. I’m sick over this.

So now McCain is the candidate for change, huh? Where I’m from, that would be called “biting my rhymes” or “jocking my style” From day 1, Barack Obama has preached change. Which term describes John McCain platform, “Country First”, “Family First” or “Change”? It seems to be different every week. It appears he’s trying to distance himself from the GOP & making promises to the Democrats that everyone knows he won’t keep. He’s allowed his vice presidential candidate to publicly overshadow him. The Republicans have become the posterchildren of hypocrisy. The party who says “Family First” has a presidential candidate who left his wife when he returned from his POW stint to find she didn’t look the way he wanted her to look due to a automobile accident & within a month of his divorce, married some money. Never mind that this woman cared for his children while he was gone. Family First, huh? A party with a vice presidential candidate who has a pregnant teenage daughter & an infant, special needs son at home but decides it’s more important to run for VP. I’m also hearing rumors of an extramarital affair. Twisting a young man’s arm to marry your daughter to try to clean up the fact that not only is she sexually active, but having unprotected sex. Most of us don’t know anything about her religious beliefs. Family First, huh? Not that I’m that impressed with the Democrats, but at least they’ve been consistent with their platform. How hypocritical is it to criticize Obama for receiving rock star type attention, comparing him to Paris Hilton & Britney Spears, but now that Sarah Palin is receiving the same type of treatment, it’s cool. I don’t hear the Democrats whining about it. HYPOCRITES, HYPOCRITES, HYPOCRITES!!! And as far as the polls go, is polling 1,000 people really a true gauge on how the country’s leaning? I’m sure if you call 1,000 people in Arizona & Alaska the majority of people would say McCain-Palin. If you called 1,000 people in inner city Chicago & people around Scranton, PA., the majority would be Obama-Biden. Problem is they don’t call inner city Chicago. They don’t call inner city period. I’ve never received a phone call asking me who would I vote for. I don’t put much stock in the polls, but I see the Republicans bet the house on them. Go ahead & bet on McCain-Palin. When you come up snake eyes, don’t whine & don’t complain.

i must say, as a lifelong Democrat, i was very excited for America when the Democrats took back control of congress…….only to have anger and justice turn into apathy…..some members have acted with an eye towards justice, threatening to bring articles of impeachment against the President…..but Pelosi, in all her power, has allowed congressional democrats to sit on their hands, content to let this lame duck president essentially have his way these last few months of the worst and most arrogant administration in the history of our country….shame, shame, shame….

Mr. Obama, on a Sunday interview with George, noted that when Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin “was forced” to talk about her pregnant 17-year-old daughter, he issued a forceful statement to reporters that the line of inquiry was “off limits.” But he said the McCain campaign tried to tie him to “liberal blogs that support Obama” and are “attacking Governor Palin.”
“Let’s not play games,” he said. “What I was suggesting — you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you’re absolutely right that that has not come.”
Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted with, “Christian faith.”
Muslim faith? Say what? And Obama had to be corrected by George?

Yup, a 9% Congress, lower than the president. So much for Dem promises, huh.
Well, the McCain/Palin jump is reported to be carrying Republican congressional candidates along, too. So, you won’t have to worry about this 9% Congress for long.

Can one of Mr. Obama’s supporters please explain to me how he can endorse Todd Stroger, Emil Jones and others in Cook County, Illinois? These candidates (especially Mr. Stroger are considered incompetent and corrupt). They certainly are not about reform and change and yet Mr. Obama endorsed them over true reform candidates. Is this the leadership we should expect? I have yet to hear any one in the media ask Mr. Obama about his endorsements that do not endorse hope, change and reform. Perhaps he speaks one way in Illinois and another way to the rest of the country.

– Democratic President who committed adultary in the white house.
– Democratic candidate who had an affair and child out of wedlock while his wife has cancer.
– Democratic candidate for president with admitted history of drug use, who has two young daughters at home and is home only on weekends, according to his wife.
Family first?
Fragile glass house you live in, no?
As for the polls, Gallup is one of the most respected in the industry, they call both land lines and cell phones. I have never been called on a poll either. Given that the typical good poll calls around 2000 people, and there are 300 million people in the country, don’t hold your breath. It is the way things are done, and it is as accurate as it can get.
BTW, Zogby also brags that they have predicted accurately nearly all of the past elections. And they have had McCain ahead for the past week.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the Palin bounce. She got a lot of sympathy from the announcement of her daughter’s pregnancy which I think is a healthy sign. It only goes to show that the American public doesn’t share the twisted christian fundamentalism of her political base, the far right.
What remains to be seen is how voters will react once they get to know her as a politician. Most of her positions are quite extreme, she lies and flip-flops better than any Washington insider, and she doesn’t seem to possess the core decency that both Obama, Biden and McCain have shown.
I hope that every voter gets a chance to listen to the recording of her giggling while a female political opponent is being subjected to the most obscene, sexist badmouthing by two radio hosts. Towards the end of the recording she even tells them that she’d be honoured to have them come visit her. Eww!

Fox News’s Carl Cameron came up with a fascinating description of this first joint McCain/Palin TV ad, which I typed as he spoke:
It’s a great piece of political judo wherein you take the mantra, the message, the strength of your opponent and claim it as your own. Barack Obama has been on the campaign trail now for two years calling himself the agent of change, saying that he’s the person who can really effect serious reform in Washington.
Now you’ve got John McCain and Sarah Palin saying that they are the candidates of change, pointing to their experience and their resume — their actual work in government — as evidence of their ability to effect the change that Barack Obama says he hopes to bring. Pretty tough row to hoe when Barack Obama has spent so many hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising and campaign efforts calling himself the agent of change, but McCain and Palin believe they can wrestle it away from him in just these last 58 days.

People, when are you going to open up your eyes and get off this pettiness. Life is to short as it is to waste time and energy on stupidity. This country is in an awful mess. Other countries are just waiting for America to come to her knees. What happened on 9/11 was just a sample of what they had in for us. They see the division that has been and is still going on. The Bible says a house divided agains itself will not stand. What is there to say about a country divided against itself? We know how to come together when we want too. No one said anything about separation of church and state after 9/11, nor when the Persian Gulf War was going on. We were united and the rest of the world knew it. Lets move forward and get America back to be the riches and most powerful country as she once was.

Mr. Gibson, In the employment process a job candidate is interviewed by his or her prospective employer to determine whether or not they will get an offer for the job. In the election process, I think of my vote as that potential job offer. I won’t be interviewing Governor Palin but you will. I would like you to ask her this question for me. “Governor Pain, if you become Vice President and the President dies, or becomes incapacitated and is unable to perform his duties, you will become the President of the United States. A major responsibility of the President is that of Commander in Chief. Governor Palin, prior to being asked by John McCain to be his vice presidential running mate, what had you done that would support that you are ready to be Commander in Chief?”

Early in the campaign, when Reverend Wright’s name came up, Obama stated that Wright was a rrue friend of the family, performing the wedding ceremony, baptixing his two children, and acting as a mentor to him. When he found that people did not believe he should have such a radical as a friend, he said he trusted and believed in him, and had never heard any ot the ravings of the Reverend which were circulated to church members on a tape/video. Then he started to change his story, and eventually stated that he could no longer stick by the Wright. In a speech he gave in Pennsylvania, he admitted that he had heard some of Reverend’s ravings where he cussed America. When he was on the O’Reilly Show , he again stated that he had never heard Wright say anything like those ravings reported in the media.

Mr. Gibson, This is a question for Governor Palin. “Governor Palin, I have a three part question for you. Your views on a abortion suggest that you support the overturn of Roe v Wade by the Supreme Court. First question: If you became Vice President and the President died, or became incapacitated and no longer able to perform his duties, would you submit nominees for the Supreme Court to the U.S. Senate whose record suggested a likelihood of their voting for the overturn of Roe v Wade? Second question: If Roe v Wade were overturned what would you do to unite a country bitterly divided over this issue of a woman’s right to choose? And third question: If Roe v Wade were overturned would you support federal legislation that would provide public money to women who wanted an abortion to enable them to obtain a safe abortion in countries outside the United States where abortion is legal.
