For those of us on the fence, this speech was extremely negative. I would be happy to see the day when one party’s way of trying to get ahead is not by bashing the other but offering real answers to the many issues we face. Having voted Republican in the last couple of elections, I can guarantee that that won’t be my choice this time. The sneering, sarcastic remarks by both Sarah and Rudy were uncalled for and highly unprofessional and more is expected from those that want to lead the country. What horrible examples for the youth to follow. Maybe they were appealing to the youth that can’t vote with the type of attitudes and mocking that occurred. More was expected. I am no longer on the fence.

Palin did great and we learned more about obama in her 30 min speech than obama and the media has reported on in 2 years. Look out Washington here she comes.

Nasty speech that will probably turn off swing voters.
I give it a “D”.

What was John McCain thinking when he asked Palin to be his running mate!!! She is way out of her league. She is ridiculously inexperienced and tonight’s speech made me truly dislike her.
Posted by: Terri | September 4, 2008, 12:44 am 12:44 am
Her downfall may be she is too polarizing. She took great liberty in distoring Obama’s positions, when in fact, she not only agreed with many – she practically lifted one of his speeches.

Terrific speech! I predict McCain will get a huge bump in the polls out of this.

Sarah Palin is a Breath of Fresh Air that Washington is not ready for. Yes there are skeletons in her closet, but that makes her human. She has more experience on how to Govern than any of the other candidates. So, B. Obama, Beware – the tigress is going to get you. She said she cleaned up the Politics as Governor. Now due to ‘sour grapes’ some Democrats feel that they just have to blast her good name to kingdom come because she clamped down on them and they almost hate her for it. I give Sarah straight A’s tonight. Never have I listened to a speech and actually connected with the person giving it. I hope the Democrats in Alaska will come to their senses about her ex-brother-inlaw and realize that he is the jerk. And the person whom she fired, as Governor she has the right to fire and/or hire as needed. He just wants his ‘minute’ of fame in smearing her name. I’m ashamed of these people. Sarah is a fine and upstanding person and to say such untrue rumors about her is awful. Dem’s you need back to school for some courage to know when you are wrong and admit it.

George must be scared of the GOP who declared war on the media today.
“B” for filling in the blanks on her political record? Gimme a break. She is hiding from reporters.

I think Gov.Palin did a great job tonight. I especially appreciated the comment she made about working for the people and NOT the media.

All the Obama followers are going nuts every where. That is a good sign.

I love all the bloggers who are trying to blast the GOP for being “nasty.” Give me a break. The media is absolutely ridiculous in their scrutiny. All Barack Obama did during his speech is say “enough” about 2,000 times. All this guy does is ride the anti-Bush bandwagon and hope time doesn’t run short on him. Before the convention bounce he was already falling behind in the polls. Good for Palin to stand up strong! I agree that Rudy crossed the line a couple of times but the reality is the GOP’s message tonight stated the TRUTH of Obama’s so-called policies, although he really doesn’t have any. He doesn’t stand strong on anything. What kind of meat should the GOP give when Obama doesn’t give any substance of any sort except “enough.” I say enough of the sideshow Obama and show us that you know what you are doing once GQ magazine and the tabloids stop calling for your picture. I give it an A, B (she should have addressed the scrutiny more), A, A+

How mean spirited and nasty tonight was.
It made me sick to watch Mrs. McCain
laugh at at all the sneering. I felt like I was watching the Romans laugh at
someone being eaten by the lions, eager
to see blood; Mrs. McCain being one of tthem. Is that what we want for a first
lady? I voted for George Bush and regret it. I will not vote Republican
this time!!! Not a chance. We don’t need another war man.
Posted by: Tim | September 4, 2008, 1:00 am 1:00 am
You have to be kidding me if you think this was a great speech. Too negative is right. Obama was respectful and factual. Rudy and Sarah were just nasty. They call themselves real Americans? If so I don’t want to be one.
Posted by: sebring96 | September 4, 2008, 1:01 am 1:01 am
Sarah Palin blew the Dems out of the water and showed us what she’s made of- determination, grit and a smart and brave women who is not afraid of the liberal media or the slimbags trying so desperately to take her down. She’s got more going for her than Obama has ever hoped to have- she is just as good a speaker and yet guess what? She’s actually DONE something and proven herself. She’s an asset to McCain and although the media is trying to compare her to the Dem Presidental Candidate, she is running for VP – but watch out- she’s on a path to even greater things. What a breath of fresh air and hope for the future of our country. Isn’t that what it is all about? I don’t think that after the election I’ll be interested in sitting around having a Obama worship session when the rest of the world walks all over us or, worse yet, decides to blow us to kingdom come because Obama would have to gather a group together to sing KumByYa before he could make a decision to act!
Wake up America!! This is real!
Posted by: Proud American | September 4, 2008, 1:01 am 1:01 am
Better experience, better judgement and better speech, for a VP candidate, than a presidential candidate, B.O.
The biased media is treating Sarah unfairly.
What do you mean by “turn the page” on the Bush Administration? The Bush administration is keeping this country safe!!!

What kind of woman would put up with the”Cold State Hot VP” buttons the delegates were wearing tonight? Once again the GOP shows it’s ugly sexist underbelly.

She fired up the “base”, but she comes across as sarcastic and petty. Her belittling Obama for working as a community organizer and other snotty remarks just give Hillary good ammunition to shoot her down. She definitely removed any inhibitions the press or Obama campaign may have had in going after her. The real test will be whether the McCain campaign will turn her lose for a news conference or let her campaign alone. I doubt it. She proved she can very effectively deliver a prepared speech, but she may not be able to discuss or defend it. Also, the speech included many very obvious untruths about both her own record and what Obama proposes to do.

This is an excerpt from her speech.
“Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we’re going to lay more pipelines … build more new-clear plants … create jobs with clean coal … and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal and other alternative sources.”
Notice how they had to spell the word NUCLEAR in a way that she would read it correctly. Does that remind you of any one? GW maybe. Plain ol McSame. If America allows another unqualified person to occupy the White House for another 4 years, we will truly be the laughing stock of history.
How come McPlain’s economic plan was not touted. Oh, yeah as his campaign manager stated, it is not about the issues.

Gov. Palin’s speech injects a new dose of energy into this race with her speech. The energy flows in bipartisan directions, and probably will have the least effect on the undecided voters. The mocking and belittling of Sens. Obama and Biden is a transparent attempt to tarnish them. Even when she was right, the tone was arrogant and patronizing. Anyone who has worked as a community organizer knows that the tasks are as huge as being an elected official — but the outcomes are intangible, invisible, and sometimes just not there, despite the best of intentions. A failing grade for Gov. Palin, but like Barack Obama she sure can give a stirring speech! The difference is that she stirs up mud from the bottom and he stirs up hope from the top.
The second comment I have is that all of her allegations about the Democratic ticket were true, but failed to include the specifics that change the entire meaning of the charge! This is classic pulling the wool over the eyes of the voters, but I know that Obama and Biden will help us pull that wool out and put it to better use. Some examples of this deception — they will raise taxes (without specifying that this will affect the richest few as a liability but the vast majority of the country as an asset). Another example, McCain is the only man who has fought for this country!?! Well, yes, he literally has done so, and no one has or can rightfully question his bravery, courage, and determination. But I think that any citizen who does things such as pay their rightful taxes and obey the laws, for example, is also fighting for this country.
The BIG ELEPHANT at the convention that no one is talking about is that this country has lost lives (irreplacable) and other resources such as dollars (replaceable) to wage a war that we were told was started for one reason — Hussein had weapons of mass destruction that he presumably was going to use against the USA. This was false, of course, but no one (McCain included) is taking responsibility for this. Waging a war based on lies, and then gaining from it personally, goes against everything the Constitution stands for.
If it is true that Obama voted “present” instead of yes or no 130 times, I’m guessing that at least some of these times he did it for pure political protection. But I am certain that more than once he used his “Ivy League” education to actually think about a complex issue and recognize that neither option was the correct one. As a bumper sticker once said — “Join the Republican Party, don’t think twice. We’ve already done all of the thinking for you!”
Posted by: Stan | September 4, 2008, 1:12 am 1:12 am
she came across as angry, sarcastic, and condescending.
Posted by: james | September 4, 2008, 1:13 am 1:13 am
Is anyone else as confused as I am that the “biased, sexist” media is praising her speech as much as they are?
What exactly did she do that was so noteworthy? Read well from a TelePrompTer? Display the well-worn Republican character attacks on opponents? Convey absolutely no ideas or expertise on anything? Demean and belittle her rivals for sake of her own ego gratification?
If this is truly what it takes to win at all costs, then McCain/Palin will do quite well.
If people can see through the absolute lack of substance and smears they both seem to excel at, then this country has a chance to recover from eight long years of complete presidential failure.
Posted by: twilight_zoned | September 4, 2008, 1:14 am 1:14 am
What I am enjoying the most is reading the fawning reviews from right-wingers. One teleprompter speech and suddenly she’s “The One.” Who knows? Maybe if she gives a few more speeches in front of adoring crowds Democrats can start calling her a celebrity.
Pathetic.

The Pro Obama New Republic did a focus group and found out Palin was “alarmingly strong.” And now they are extremely worried.
This election is basically over. Obama may as well get use to just going back to the senate cuz that’s where he’ll be.
Posted by: Jo | September 4, 2008, 1:17 am 1:17 am
Very divisive, sarcastic speech focused on belittling the opposition rather than tackling the problems America faces. No new ideas. I found her mocking of Obama’s community service work to be childish and her attack of his executive experience to be ignorant given Obama’s orchestration of a pretty well organized, 2 year, 2100 employee, $400 million campaign that defeated the Clinton dynasty.

I hope all of you out there didn’t waste too much money sending it to Obama. Oh well.
It’s going to be wonderful having the first woman VP be a republican.
I guess you dems won’t be able to say we GOP don’t like “strong women” anymore. In fact there are a lot of stereotypes you’ll have to drop.

As a voter that felt he had no good choice in this election Palin won my vote. She is the only one out of the whole group that feels real to me. If you thought Obama’s speech was good it is only because your mind was made up before you heard the speech. Obama hit all the talking points and that seems to hit home with the media and people that like to talk about change. The fact still remains that he has done nothing that I have heard of yet to support why I should beleive him and that he is not just a lot talk.

A on my report card! It was a great night for Gov. Palin; very impressing. Legendary and historic.
I was in tears, esp with the shots of the POW colleague of McCain in tears, and the shot of Trig as she talked about her committment to parents of special needs children.
This speech will go down in history as one that has broken barriers, and all children watching will know that if you work hard enough in what you believe in, you can achieve anything in this great country of ours.

Let’s get real! Sarah Palin had a good speech writer. No one can possibly believe that she wrote her speech, if she had the intelligence to write this well, we would have heard about her before Friday! Furthermore, please stop comparing her to Barack Obama, a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University. She went to Idaho College (no disrespect intended). She is a VP candidate. Obama is running for President. If you must compare, it should be Palin vs Biden.

Jo, you said “Lots of enthusiastic blacks in the RNC crowd tonight. Who knew?! Brave, brave people. They probably get harrassed.” Really? Were you actually watching the speech as the camera panned the crowd? Really? I started to count and I literally was able to count the black people I saw on one hand. Palin was totally sarcastic reading from a speech created mostly by the McCain campaign speech writer. Yes she’s only been on the national scene for a week but if that’s the only speech she can come up with, we are in trouble. And yes I’m as white as they come.

She was awesome, clear and had a great presentation. She didn’t come across as bitter. I felt like, Obama, who? Biden, who? She came across as intelligent and as a caring person. I hope more exciting people come into politics like Sarah. We need more people like her.

If you had asked me a year ago if the Rebublican Party had a shot in this years election, I would have given a resounding NO!
I am amazed at how divided the Demacratic Party is. I believe the Washington power brokers never expected Obama to win the nomination, they just wanted to bait and switch voters. As mush as I dislike Hillary, she has much more experience than Obama and is more qualified for the position.
Wake up Democratic Party! I was ready to switch affiliations this time around but you are incapable of putting up a canditate that is a viable choice for main stream Americans to get behind. No matter how many celebrity soundbites and elitist interviews make it onto the clearly liberal media channels, the majority of the American population does not identify with them, and they don’t identify with the majority oif the American population. We are going to wake up on November 5th to news reports and headlines of “Four More Years!” McCain was not my choice for the nomination, but I voted for him because he was the only candidate that had a shot of beating Hillary or Obama. Every other person I have spoken to that voted for McCain voted for him for the same reason. It turns out that he is also the only candidate that if elected, will reach across the aisle and effect any type of change that matters to the majority of the population. If the Democratic Party doesn’t reinvent itself and grasp onto the issues that realy matter to Americans, we are going to continue to have a one-political party system in this country for a long time to come.
A+ on all grades

I love how the righteous dems and the media trash Palin this past week, attack her, attack small towns, attack country people, attack EVERYTHING…and then tonight they whine and moan…
“they were too mean” (sniff, sniff)
LOLOL. What a bunch of wussy babies you are. And everyone knows it.
Get some balls.

Sorry it wasn’t her speech. While it well delivered it was long on zingers and short on substance. Fired up her base, but the independants will not but it.
Perhaps she should remove the lipstick and tell us where she stands.

All by their own repeated mistakes.

The big talking point tonight (that you can tell the Obama team released and the media is parroting) that someone else wrote her speech!
Well, knock me over with a feather, who knew that other people write politicians speeches??!!!
That’s all you got?! Nobody cares. They LOVE Sarah Palin.
LOLOL. They’re toast and they know it!!!!

Little Piper Palin stole all of America’s hearts tonight as she kept wiping little Trigg Pain’s bangs across his head.
Even Diane Sawyer commented on how she loved seeing that.
America is in love with the beautiful Palin family!!! :)

I was going to vote for McCain. I work in the community but she really trashed us. I am really sorry to hear this. I might not vote this election at all or may be vote for third party. I am not really happy like other republican.
Sorry at least as a community workers, we should be honored for helping hard working people.

I have never in my life listened to a vice presidential candidate give such a divisive, vindictive speech and come up so short on positive, substantive answers to help solve the serious issues that face the United States of America.
If the Republican leadership thinks they can win the election by trying to further divide the country, I truly feel sorry for them.
For crying out loud it’s time to stop dividing the country, stop being so negative and come together to confront our problems as one country.
I hope, for McCain’s sake, he gives a substantive, positive, uniting speech with real solutions tomorrow (aka “the speech of his life”) or this election’s as good as over.

Re: want concrete stuff and this lady dont have it.
If she didn’t have it, none of them do. Truly. She was fantastic! Biden and Obama are old news. She went right at him, Obama–he’s not done one thing while in office. Zero. He has not written any reforms. None. He hasn’t stood up to the party’s corruption. She has done a lot in her state.
Posted by: Christie | September 4, 2008, 2:03 am 2:03 am
This speech along with all the other republican speakers did exactly what I thought it would do. If youre a republican and you were going to vote McCain you will do anyway. If youre on the fence you will vote Obama. If you regret voting for Bush you will vote for Obama. It’s the same rhetoric as always. By the way, fear shouldnt win this time. Being govenor for 21 months isnt exactly executive experience. I think the Republicans spit in the face of every woman voter by thinking that asking a conservative female to run will automatically draw the woman voter out of the house for them. Everyone knows that is the biggest demographic voter this election. Also, if you think you will automatically get the disgruntled female Hillary vote dont be stupid. I am sick and tired of republicans running campaigns on fear. Ask Palin about Alaska first, not Country First. Might as well put a wig on Charleton Heston. Oh and by the way she got her first passport last year, so please tell me how someone that has never left Northern Exposure get experience in Foreign Policy when you havent been anywhere. I guess Foreign Policy means Foreign to how the world works then she has plenty of experience in that. By the way, its easy to write a speech in 48 hours. Let’s see what happens when she meet Biden in the debates when she has to think on her feet.
Obama and Biden 08

It’s not exactly hard to speak to millions on TV when the audience right in front of you will cheer on everything you say or do. Hell, she could have puked and they would have loved it. Actually, a lot of what she said was puke. No change here. Just more of the same divisive GOP lies and tactics.
Posted by: MJ | September 4, 2008, 2:04 am 2:04 am
Doug, but people will remember that Sarah Palin is going to be VP. And they will be reminded by Rudy’s speech that Obama has done nothing and is not ready.
And that’s what the independents and other hold outs were waiting on. And tonight reminded them why they must vote McCain. And McCain it will be.
Posted by: Jo | September 4, 2008, 2:06 am 2:06 am
MJ is pissed that this election is over.
Actually what Obama said is puke, because none of his past voting record goes along with what he preaches.

If Palin has more executive experience than Obama and Biden, doesn’t she also have more executive experience than McCain?
Therefore, logically, she is best qualified to be President of the United States!
McCain, Obama and Biden are just do nothing senators who have no experience running things!
(Sarcasm is hard to convey online)

Barack Obama wrote two(2) books! and he was a Professor of Constitutional Law. He does not need a speech writer. Now you have been clue(d). Objectively speaking, Sarah Palin gets a “D” on her report card for her attacks on the next President of the United States, Barack Obama.

I voted for Bush but have been disappointed with his administration. I was hoping this convention would be about how the republicans were going to change the direction of the party. What I have seen is lots and lots of sniping and little policy.
I was so looking forward to Palin tonight. I now understand her nicknames..’Sarah Barracuda’ and ‘pit bull with lipstick’… She was very vitriolic and sarcastic. Her attacks were personal. I thought McCain, who I adored in 2000 but felt had lost his identity, picked Palin for her leadership. I see that he really wanted a female attack dog. She gets to bite but if they come back at her she can cry ‘sexism’… I have made up my mind. I will not vote republican this year.
Posted by: Laura | September 4, 2008, 2:17 am 2:17 am
Jo, how does it feel being a paid blogger posting comments with as little substance as Palin’s speech?
Her speech was insulting, mocking everyone who serves their community proudly and selflessly, missing the details and didn’t provide any information on how to fix the economy, responsibly end the war, deal with foreign policy, fix our education system and you know I could go on and on and on naming issues she did not even address. She was too busy being negative. Do you really think this Republican Machine attack speech will persuade independent voters to vote for McCain Palin?
I do have to hand it to her though, she really can rally the base.
Posted by: Chris | September 4, 2008, 2:18 am 2:18 am
You got to love those zingers. :o) Parting the sea (the one) and those Roman columms. That was good..after all those lights are down..what will Obama do for the nation? He never said, did he? The pundits said his big speech was flat on substance. Why on earth do the good democrats of America support this prepackaged empty suit. God, is it because they think he’s the “it” thing right now. It must be. It’s terrible to think about all of the voters who will vote for such a unqualified person that the rest of us will have to suffer through with higher taxes and bigger programs. I like how she brought up the fact how he talks about americans one way in Scranton, Pa., and another way in SF. He’s such a fake and I can see why people call him an “elitist!”

I understand your side, But I strongly disagree. I dont think its safe to assume that the voter thats on the fence will run to McCain after this. They either vote Obama or stay home on election day. Please tell me why they had to wait for Palin and Guliani to speak. By the way Guliani only got where he was because of 9-11 and he doesnt mind reminding everyone about that. Thats the been the problem for 8 years. The Dems did it in 84 with Geraldine Ferraro and lost. The GOP did it in 09 and will lose. Everone thinks that this is the same old election that has played out in the past. Whit vs Black. How can I get the single lesbian veggitarian mother of 2 out to vote? How can I appeal to the mixed married factory worker male over 45? Too much categoriazation on both parties, however its time to think out of the box. Please try to convince me that McCain has more ability to think out of the box than Obama. The reason people jump on Obama is he does think out of the box. Complex problems have Complex solutions and you dont solve them by trying to look at the past. We need vision and the ability to adapt to the new time we are faced with. I’m sorry but a 72 year old McCain really is not going to provide a look to the future. A conservative female from Alaska that not to long ago was part of a party that wanted break away from the US and has never traveled outside the country going to provide Global leadership.

I found her bottom line talk refreshing. She’s intelligent, femine, strong and has great passion for wanting to make a positive difference in Washington. She certainly made me a believer out of her. She has the guts to stand up to the media and all the negative nay sayers. We have 62 days left before the election. I believe all Americans are looking for a positive change in Washington and we hope to have the rest of the country’s around the world to respect us once again. I believe Sarah Palin, is a great asset to the John McCain ticket.
I will vote republican this year!!!

I respect McCains service, but he was near last in his class. Didnt do his homework. Was more worried about being a Fly boy than Brass. His Daddy’s friend got him into the War College (soudns like bush) and he only sat at a desk and made rank because he was a POW. If this was the case then I’ll take Colin Powell over McCain anyday.

Jim,
Palin has nothing in common with Hillary and would set everything Hillary has fought for back years if she had her way.
Just because she’s a woman doesn’t mean she’s the same as Hillary. The two couldn’t be more opposite.
Posted by: Chris | September 4, 2008, 2:41 am 2:41 am
You have to admit after tonight, Obama made a major mistake not taking Hillary as his running mate. The one thing this speech did tonight, like it or hate it, for the time being it created a new media star. Obama has enjoyed a major advantage in media time over the past few months. Now in the critical months before the election there is a real possibility someone else is going to get that attention and have their message go out over the airways more then his. Obama may still win the election, but if it was going to be close before, it may have just gotten even tighter.

ok, a correction on the “professor” tag.
Barack Obama was a “guest lecturer” and later a “senior guest lecturer” teaching constitutional law.
Thanks for the clarification! I wonder why people, even when they have the knowledge, would even consider backing someone like McCain?

“Turn the page on the Bush Administration”? Are you out of your mind? What have they offered that is in any way different? This is a woman who believes the “founding fathers” wrote the Pledge of Allegiance, running with a man who thinks Al Qaida train in Iran, both promising to cut taxes further for the supperrich and everybody else is welcome to die. It’s Bush cubed. Lie, flub, lie, flub, lie, flub, & threaten the “media” if anyone calls you on it. If there’s a McClown/Palin administration, all we have to look forward to is a few dozen more airplanes being flown into buildings.

To lie behind the label of Christian. It was revolting and extremely aggressive and divisive, just like all republicans politicians.
Simply said: Palin is just another corrupt republican politician.
ENOUGH OF REPUBLICAN CORRUPTION!!

McCain clearly saw an opening when Obama did not pick Clinton as his VP. The McCain campaign is hoping to get blue-collar and female voters by using Palin.
Her speech was very effective– at least, she came across as being tough, which is energizing for Repubs. However, there’s still two months until the election, which leaves lots of time for – who knows what!!
This election isn’t even close to being over. It’s going to be a long, hard, bloody fight to the end. Exciting.
I’m proud to be an American and all in all, democracy is better than any other alternative I’ve seen.

A, B, B, A (No reference to the wonderful group intended – It just worked out that way.
I had serious doubts about Gov. Sarah Palin until really listening and watching her this evening.
Now, I think she can safely hold her own and was impressed by her “Down to Earth” attitude and obviously not having a problem with multiple and difficult roles.
I do hope that someone comes forward with the Republicans plans for the working people of America and Small Business Owners. (Please no socialized Government Health Care or more hand outs.)
Sarah, I admire your family for standing beside Bristol during this difficult time. This will not be easy, been there, done that and could never afford the T-Shirt!
I am grateful that times have changed a little in this respect over the way I was treated – I was not allowed to see my own Grandmother who was dying of cancer because I was such an embarrassment to my family – I was older than Bristol. It was Hell to put it mildly. She need support from everyone. Yes, I may even write her a letter!
I personally am Pro-Choice. Just leave the laws as they currently are. We don’t need to lose more lives due to backstreet abortions. (Especially those who are impregnated through rape and incest; It happens more than people like to believe…) This is between that woman and God.. So, please keep this out of the limelight. There are most important and urgent issues for the U.S.A.
Sarah, you have my vote and respect.

I wasn’t fooled by all the hype. Palin’s speech was far too negative. If she is suppose to have all this experience shouldn’t she be running for president? Seems like she has more than John McCain. Where was what the Republican going to do to fix the mess that they created? People need to open up their eyes and start thinking.
Posted by: Scott | September 4, 2008, 3:20 am 3:20 am
F for her and Rudy. I found them snarky and childish. Not worthy of people who claim to be leaders. They were petty and didn’t tell the truth about who she is and what she believes. The McCain camp said the speech was written weeks ago and had to be modified for her, well they left off the part about creationism! THey want her kids left out of this and then they trot them out? It doesn’t work that way, she is now exposing them all. Obama may be willing to leave them out of it but the media won’t, if she didn’t realize that then she isn’t smart enough for my vote. I’ll take the Community Organizer, and I truly hope the community he organizes next is the USA.

This Independent who was leaning towards McCain will not vote for him anymore! Thanks for the clear picture tonight! It’d be a mistake to elect McCain with Palin into the White House. Like the only saying, ambitious women are more dangerous then men! She was outright mean and disgusting! Oh, and ridiculing community organizers? Palin, that “small town” bully obviously haven’t been to a big city to see the state of despair that people are in and how community organizers actually help them so that they can live a little better! She’s arrogant and cocky!
I’m extremely disappointed with McCain, he’s obviously in it to win it with no regards to Americans! Please change your slogan of “Country First”! It’s an insult to the American people! Now
Please help us Lord if these two get elected! If these two are elected, I bet WWIII or the Second Cold War will be bestowed upon us, our children, and their children.
If these two wins, then America deserves what it gets! It obviously hasn’t learned yet from the last 8 years.
We Americans, only want the best, brightest, and smartest lawyers, doctors, surgeons, pharmacists, and etc serving us, but we don’t hesitate to let some average Joe and Jane (McCain/Palin) lead our country? Now, I find that scary and disturbing! Sorry, but I don’t want my neighbors running the U.S. of A!

Of course you all are going to just fall in love with her if youre a republican because she used a Bush Speech writer hahahahaha. Come on and quit being a bunch of mindless zombies. Can you open your eyes and see what the past 8 years has been like! She fip flopped on Bridge to no where! She promised to support it in campaigns and then cut it when she was elected! I was in the Army for 8 years, I have a Bachelors degree after working fulltime and going to school fulltime with a Wife and 2 kids. I have travled to 9 countries and lived in Two of them for more than 7 years combinded. I have more experience than she does and I wasnt vetted hahaha….I guess if I was a conservative, gun toting, anti abortionist I would have been. Stop buying all the marketing and make a decision based on facts and not marketing. Reach deep down and inside and please honestly ask yourself if (and i am not hoping this) McCain dropped dead in office that you would want this woman as President. Please convince me that she has more experience than a Hilllary Clinton or even from your own party a Kaye Baily Hutchinson…..I dont think you can. Stop buying all the hype. McCain did succeed in what he wanted to and that was to whack you over the head with cosmetics and not substance.

I gave the night an overall C+. There was no real talk on how to improve the economy, education or repairing our nations image among our allies. I also have a concern about Governor Palin efforts to get her ex-brother law removed from the state police force. I believer she’s going to hurt McCain in the long run.

Palin’s delivery was okay but her speech reeked of nasty sarcasm and “down home” cynicism. Where were the descriptions of plans for the economy, health care, the environment, education, or for addressing a huge deficit? She said nothing about the Republican record of the last eight years, as if it didn’t exist. Her speech was all sound-bite and arm-flinging, without any substance. I’ll be supporting Obama in November and expecting a Democratic victory.

I am a registered Democrat who has decided the correct vote for our country is a vote for McCain/Palin. Palin is a breath of fresh air!!! I have never felt so good about the possible future of our country if McCain wins. Obama has no experience. The only thing he is good at is speaking, thus he can speak alot about nothing. He has not said one thing that inspires me. As a matter of fact, the fact that Obama plans to raise taxes, completely turns me off to him. Fellow Americans, how else do you think he can pay for what he proposes! Any of you who think tonights speeches were negative didn’t listen very well, because they were truthful. They verbally raped Obama. Rudy and Sarah were disrespectful, sarcastic, antagonistic boastful, insulting and seemed to love it when the audience followed. Those are not character traits I’d want in my leaders. How will they feel when they have to face Obama? Now John has a celebrity! She came to help him win.Being a mother is a full time job and a mother to 5 even more. I know I did it. It’s hard enough to have a traditional job and do it well but really try to mother properly and be VP? Come on. They tried to appeal to emotions of John’s military and the Palin family story. That won’t put food on our tables, address unemployment, help our schools, help everyone to have health care etc. Oh my, something is wrong with this picture.

Is there anything lower that a “F”.
Is this the best that the GOP have to offer? They only showed how sarcastic, nasty, disrespectful and unprofessional they are. America do NOT need these type of people in the Number 1 and 2 positions.
What about discussing the issues and saying what solutions you can offer for the many issues that is facing Americans today.
Such an old trick, trying to get the heat off of you by bashing someone else.
Very disappointing and it surely let you know “how little the GOP thinks of the American Public”.

I think all the speeches tonight from Romney, Huckabee, especially Guiliani, and Palin were horrible, disrespectful not only to Obama but to the hard working Americans & less fortunate Americans in this country, demeaning, full of hateful undertones, and just plain same old Republican rhetoric. They brought nothing but pure ugly, condescending attacks on Obama but no solutions to change the mess that their own party has put us in. I was shocked & embarassed by the display that was put on tonight and to me only ignorance can support such vile attacks towards the opposition. Yes, Barack has spoken about the facts on McCain but never, ever has he made downright mean spirited & belittling comments or references about him.
Yet tomorrow Barack will come out and speak about it but I guarantee he will not stoop to the low pig slop slinging that the Republicans did last night.
I just pray that the there are more American voters who are tired of the same old lies and dog & pony Republican shows and vote for change of parties in the WH.

Palin (as well as Juliani) came across as being snotty, cocky, sarcastic and intimidating. All they did, especially her, was to “bad mouth” the opponents and gave no mention of what she would do for jobs/economy, health insurance, etc. The family value message really was a joke considering her “pregnant” daughter on stage with her boyfriend is 17 and unmarried because Palin believes that “abstinence” is the way to prevent pregnancy. What planet is she living on?? If she supported sex education and the use of condoms or birth control pills her daughter wouldn’t be Pregnant! Plus I guess she doesn’t care about the possible spread of STD’s and life threatening Aids!! She’s pure pro-life no matter what – even rape and incest!! How sick is that?? Plus what kind of a life does a down syndrome child have??? None!!! And heaven forbid if something happened to the “old guy”. She’s be in charge!!! with her very limited experience. Think we’re in trouble now, just wait if that happened. I’d move to Canada!!!

@Beaphilly: Everyone gets this wrong, but Sen. Obama was actually not a law professor, he was a law instructor. To be made a Professor you must publish scholarship within your field, something Mr. Obama did not do. He didn’t move up so he moved on. (Kicked himself upstairs to the state house, as it were).
As for grades for the night: mine are close to Mr. Stephanopolous’, except for the backdrop which I dug. I loved the big screen with the wind blown flags and use of simple close circuit high tech (instead of pyrotechnics). The simplicity of the staging beat the heck out of the overblown half-time show at the “Barackopolis” — (Power Point vs. Power Trip). Glad Mrs. Palin mentioned those styrofoam pillars and his presumptuous fake presidential seal. (Michael Steele and Hawai’i Governor were a homerun, as well).

Sarah Palin proved once again last night that she is a dynamite pick as John McCain’s vice-presidential running mate.
Sarah Palin is a master communicator, and, unlike Obama, she is very believable.
Sarah Palin gets the grades of A, A, A, and A, and she is on the Dean’s List in the hearts of millions of Americans, who watched her outstanding performance last night.

If Americans fall for this kind of crap again by the Republicans, then I’ll officially move out of America!
I’ll only come back when there’s a president who doesn’t use the politics of fear to lure in their voters!
America, be afraid, be very afraid!
hmmm… Canada? England? France? or Australia?

As a Hillary supporter I was surprised that a woman could match Hillary’s work ethic. I don’t agree with all of Palin’s conservative ideas, but wow, Palin is a go getter. They have a can-do attitude. Maybe that is the change that we need. We will have to wait and see. I am still on the fence. I am still a small town, undecided, woman voter. Obama, you better start courting us and convince me that in the White House you will not play Chicago politics. I have voted Demo in the last 4 elections for president. I have not seen what I need yet from the Obama camp to convince me that he is the man. Start convincing me.

I thought McCain didn’t have the “temperament” for office.
Palins has the demeanor that gets countries into wars not out of them.
Together their nuttier than a squirrel turd.

I can see it now Sarah fulfills prophesy by starting armaggedon.
Nice article in the Wall Street Journal about Palins church, speaking in tongues, and laying on of the hands Benny Hinn style.
Palins pastor sees the Iraq war as a “holy war”, “a war of Gods” that is a fulfillment of bible prophecy.
Well why worry about gas prices, Palin is going to finish this thing and defeat Satan all by herself!
McCains staff are avoiding talking about this.

I totally disagree with the final grade. I think if anything Palin reinforced the more of the same argument. Thats the difficulty for Palin. More of the same, but in a different package.
My grades
Palin and the delegates A+ (But it was never gonna be anything else)
Filling in the blanks C (Really didn’t do much, and is it sense to keep pushing the Bridge to Nowhere out there given that she flip flopped on that)
Red Meat A (Actually pretty good, but is it going to be effective with swing voters in the end)
Turning the Page E (I think there is plenty of meat there for the ‘more of the same’ argument, especuially as the speech was written by a Bush speechwriter and sounded like it)
Overall not bad, it was no Obama speech, but I think that is like comparing apples and oranges.

Gov. Palin is a sideshow to distract attention from the main act. When all is said and done, senator McCain now has to make his speech.
We have only heard why we should be afraid of the other guy, but they have yet to make the case for why we should vote for him. McCain now wants to claim the change manta, but he has been in lock step for continuing the policies of the last 8 years.
McCain has to tell us more than ‘fear Obama.’ Obama aready told us where he wants to take us into the future. Tomorrow, McCain has to tell us the same. If he tells us ‘all is well’ and ‘stay the course’ then that’s what we can vote on.

Basic Republican scare tatic: He or She is a Tax and Spend Liberal. Please do the research and see thats the reocurring them to every political election by the Republicans. Someone please tell me how we are paying for the war in Iraq? It might take taxes to help the government make enough money to take on the debt. If you have a family or pay bills you know the burden you take on when you buy a new car a little out of your reach. Well the Republicans did that with the Iraq war. Isnt the Republican mantra to spend less by big government? Well I’d say they have definatly done their share of spending the past 8 years. Also, whose Executive Powers have been the most powerful a President has ever had? George Bush. Can’t get any bigger than that. Please stop this crap.

Funny how the Obama camp immediately sent a texted message to all the talking heads of ‘she’s too abbrasive, insulting, sarcastic. The public will not accept her insults.’
All the talking heads and Obama bloggers here are singing the same tune. Funny how they are trying to paint Gov. Palin with Mrs. Obama’s actual bitterness and hate.
My tune is that Governor Palin kicked Obama’s little bl*ck *zz. Mrs. Bitter Obama will never get to be first lady. She’s not fit.

Sarah Palin, to this Independent, is a combination of Maggie O’Connell (remember “Northern Exposure”) and Wonder Woman. I think she will shake up both Washington AND the Obama campaign.

Honestly, after watching Palin I will make the commitment not to visit a church ever in my life again, because believe it or not, that fanatism she bears is contagious if you insist in going to some churches such as pentecostals, John Haggee, Rod Parsley, etc, etc. She sure convinced me that the best thing to do is stay away from those folks, and make sure that between you and any of them, is your word that is going to prevail and not theirs.

One thing I am glad though, is that she just came in, because if she had been in the race since the beggining, she would have enough time to prepare all her poison glands a lot better. I hope Obama get rid of that vibe as soon as possible.

A great speech unfortunately – on the surface – and I am a democrat. However if you look at the faces in the crowd it proves those who go for this kind of stuff are mainly white bread upper crust republicans or evangelicals – and Sarah has become one of them. The Indies and the Dems won’t be swayed and not those who have been left behind. Reaganomics works great for those it works for and for the rest of America, forget it. Do you really want another 8 years of trickle down economics and neo-con wars. Remember this is a gal who thinks Iraq is a mission from God. I wouldn’t send my son to separate warring factions and be proud of it when he cam home in a coffin from a phony war. The sad thing about this all is this election will show once again we are a divided nation of blue staes and red states. May the blue states win and when we get the Dems back in with the concern and propsperity of the Clinton goiverning years maybvefolks will remember the party of Roosevelt, Truman Kennedy and Clinton can govern better in the country’s best interests. Buyer beware when it comes to Palin and the McC crowd. You may get what you wish for. Indy

Come on, did she say anything that is going to make this country better? Let me be the judge on the candidates, I want to hear about politics not sarcasm. I would have given her an A if she would have done that. It seems to me that she doesn’t know much, and do we really need a pit-bull with lipstick in Washington right now? At best I give her a C+, and I don’t care about her family issues (that is none of our business) but I must question the judgment of John McCain knowing the media, and what he was going to put this young lady through. She may have fired up the base, but I don’t think it was in the best interest of Mrs. Palin’s family and that should come first.

I am glad she brought up all the ridiculousness of Obama and his campaign. And his very, very flimsy record in the senate. He all but begged for insults with that fake Presidential Seal. He ought to be very afraid, as should the rest of the liberal democrats.
No wonder the obamabloggers are using everything they have…

She can talk, but that’s about it.
Take Palin away from a prepared speech, ask her questions about fiscal policy, diplomatic protocol, troop levels, the cost of various weapon systems and I strongly doubt she’s going to have these answers. Of course she won’t she’s not from Washington, she doesn’t need to know.
Didn’t McCain say this is a job interview, and we should look at qualifications, how does he explain Palin, is she exempt due to her gender?

I give her C’s and F’s…the only A she gets is for firing up the base, who would have voted Republican anyway. Obama’s appeal is his theme of unity–in one fell swoop, this stranger walks in to the campaign we’ve followed for more than a year and made a hateful mockery of us–who the hell is this interloper? Obama told almost 40,000 people this campaign is not about him–it’s about us. She just ignited a culture war, further dividing the country Obama talks about trying to unite. No, I’m not a leftist nutjob…I’m a former lifelong Republican who left the party because of John McCain.

A,C,C,D,
My initial impression was that the speech was well delivered and that she exhibited excellent poise and stage presence but when it gets down to it, her speech was nothing but one attack after another. Her accusations were way over blown and I feel that while her negative tone may have excited her base, she may have turned off many moderates who where considering voting for McCaine.
When you looks at how excited the many negative statement made the audience members it is disappointing of many levels. Before this speech, I was encouraged by the stories of the reform that she brought to Alaskan politics. After the speech, she’s made herself into another divisive politician who can read a TelePrompTer. People understand that it take REAL strength to improve the politics of the day and that it shows lack of strength to go along with the crowd and participate in “politics as usually”.

Palin’s performance was a failure, an embarassment to America.
The telling moment was when she mocked Obama for dedicating himself to community (volunteer) service, while proclaiming her own government (paid) service. Proclaiming that community service is some kind of joke is just the tip of iceberg as to how completely out of touch with American values this woman is.
Her biggest claim of accomplishment was “lowering taxes” (which simply means “increasing debt”). Any idiot can lower taxes and increase debt to satisfy a mindlesss rabble who care only about the present.

MEAN-SPIRITED.
I Know she was trying to sound tough, but she came across as arrogant, condescending, and pushy.
Yeah, she’s beautiful. Maybe that will help the United States in the long run because this country is all for the beautiful women. I know McSane is.
Cindy better watch out. You think Bill did not have sex with that lady. It’s going to be pretty steamy in the Oval Office.
Well, you know, you can’t overlook her husband. Mr. Sara is absolutely gorgeous!! It’s going to be pretty streamy in he Oval Office.
HOW CAN SHE RUN A COUNTRY WHEN SHE CAN’T EVEN RUN HER OWN HOME?
The result of her taking funding for health education out of the schools is her 17 yr old being pregnant.
By-the-way, how long has her daughter been having sex?
Could there be a case for STATUTORY RAPE instead of marriage?

A for the base but D D F here’s why Well there were a number of lies but one of the worst was when talking about fighting washington insider politics and esp. the bridge to nowhere well McCains campaign is staffed by some 75 % lobbist esp. those at the top of his campaign. Oh and the money for the bridge to nowhere Alaska got it they just didn’t build the bridge they built all the roads going up to where it will begin and as gov. she did a speech to help get this money and said Washington thinks your nowhere well I don’t and she hired lobby firms to lobby for the money. But she’s an outsider YEAH RIGHT and Rush Limbaugh is a Liberal !!! and it was a Canadian firm she gave the contract to, to build this gas pipeline but their slogan is country first then find an american co. to do the pipeline and saying we need to use american resources the drill here drill now mindset well we used our best resource our brave men and women to fight in Iraq and the Bush admin lets China walk in and get contracts that American firms should have got to develope oil fields in IRAQ fields that will produce and low estimate of 125,000 barrels of oil a week within 3 yrs maybe sooner but BUSH/ McCain and the rest let CHINA our biggest worry for our country out there come in after OUR men and women clear the way with their blood and lives and TAKE a contract to get the oil out of IRAQ right under our noses and our men and women will probally be the ones protecting China’s people in the fields and their equipment and the oil being shipped out and their tankers in the straights with our navy !!! yeah that’s the Kind of leadership we need one last thing She also said that it is their responsibilty to leave the country better then it was when they took office !! REALLY well then are your better off NOW then when Bush, who McCain voted with 90% of the time are you better of NOW then when W took over and was rubber stamped by McCain and the rest of the GOP for 7 yrs ?

Alaska-Population abt 645,000, Chicago-2.8 million! Sara Palin, has no depth of experience. Outside of snowplowing, and some dealings with Oil companies she has neither seen nor had to face the serious, complex social, economic, cultural, agricultural issues that those of us in the lower 48 have to contend with. Barack’s 6+ yrs in the Illinois State Legislature representing more constituents than probably lived in all of Alaska, along with his education, work as a constitutional lawyer, teaching law, advocating for Americans who desperately needed assistance and his 4 yrs in the Senate, along with his travel to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, far outweigh Sara Palin. She seems to be a strident, divisive person with a character similar to President Bush and we don’t need anymore of that type. It is her anger and lack substantial experience that makes me fear this woman being so close to the Presidency. Electing her would be like placing a high school librarian with a bad temper in charge of The Library of Congress! For this 62 yr old woman that the ticket we need is Obama-Biden.

I use to be a fan of former NYC mayor, Rudy G., but no more! He use to be eloquent and I was sickened last night as I listened to him speak in such a mean spirited manner and I was appalled by his sneering face. Gov Palin was disgusting as she threw out her gleefully mean one-liners. What is happening to people in the United States? Where is substance and careful thought? Thank you Tim,jjmpls and others for expressing my feelings and thoughts. It’s scary watching people behaving so maniacally proud of their ignorance! It’s scary thinking that Gov Palin believes she is qualified to be the Vice President of the USA. It’s scary because if this ticket is elected she could become the President of the USA if anything happens to McCain. McCain did an injustice to himself by selecting Gov Palin as his running mate. It makes me believe he isn’t qualified to make important decisions. George W. Bush was a bad example for the GOP.

Before we all get carried away by a
beautiful woman who can brilliantly
deliver a speech written for her by
the McCain campaign speech writers
(Obama writes his own speeches)
let’s weigh in on the meat of it
and search for ourselves what is true and what is not so true.
Having all the right female parts
does not constitue a gem to sway us
to vote for John McCain because
she is on the same ticket. To me,
and I’m sure to many others, Gov.
Palin came across as a vicious,
overly ambitious person who would
show no mercy to anyone under any
circumstances. To present herself
as being “just like all of you”
because she has 5 children, belongs
to the PTA and is a hockey mom is
absurd. To sneer and mock at
community organizing is not only
offensive to thousands of hard working
social volunteers across America, but
very ignorant and arrogant. Throughout
this nation’s history community
organizers have achieved great
advances in our society including
bringing about women’s right to vote.
Saying that Sen. Obama has never
sponsored any important bills in the
senate is not correct. He has and
it’s easy to verify this by looking
at his senate record which is openly
displayed on the internet for anyone
to see if they bother to look it up.
There are many capable, accomplished
Republican women whom McCain could
have selected as his running mate
but did not. They would perhaps not
have been as attractive, as unkown
or as dynamic a speaker as Gov. Palin.
As someone who makes a great show of
how he always puts country ahead of
self, this choice for VP was only
to further John McCain’s run for the
presidency, not because he believed
she would be the best VP for the
country. As he himself stated
in his announcement speach, “She is
exactly what I NEED FOR MY CAMPAIGN”.

One thing is for sure after reading these comments…people always hear what they want to hear. There is a difference between fact and fiction and sadly, not enough Americans are a) intelligent or interested enough to distinguish between the two b) too scared to admit that their agenda doesn’t match the facts c) too partisan to really check out the facts.

I was so hopeful this would be a different campaign without all the negative personal attacks. I was so hopeful each party would take the “high road” and speak to the issues. I was so hopeful the era of sarcastic taunts and misinformation was over. That hope died this week at the RNC. As an independent voter, I will now support Obama. He is a refreshing alternative to ” bad old-time politics

oh my God, are these red-meat rednecks suckers. must be all the inbreeding (to say nothing of the cross-breeding!);
here’s the sitch, folks:
rich republicans don’t want to pay their fair share in taxes to keep the nation going, to help the poor, to pay for the privilege of building their fortunes in the land of opportunity. they feel entitled to a free lunch.
poor republicans, the natural prey of the rich ones, are kept in the party faithful with dog-and-pony shows about values, gay marriage, evolution, flag lapel pins and demonizing stem cell research. from the looks of some of them i can see why they don’t believe in evolution, but i’ll let that pass.
now along comes satan in pantyhose, smirking with her unshakable sense of rectitude in all matters, even those she knows nothing about. she’s just the newest sideshow attraction of the GOP, something to keep the rubes happy while they go about cutting more taxes for the rich, ignoring the health care crisis, the subprime mortgage mess, the senseless bloodbath in iraq.
this has nothing, NADA, to do with patriotism, pit bulls or country first. it has everything to do with the rich hanging onto their hegemony. and you suckers are playing right into their hands. why don’t you wake up and come over to obama’s side? he’s much smarter than mccain and palin put together, and he is a decent man who honestly wants to help the poor and the downtrodden, whose numbers swell more every day under the bush administration.
don’t fall for mccain/palin; they DO NOT have your best interests at heart, no matter what they say or how viciously they may say it.
grow up! the world is too complex to leave in the hands of simpletons–

I have to believe that sarcasm and negativity will have a polarizing effect on this electing for the republicans…A grand man like McCann shouldn’t be surrounded by such critical, angry, energy.

The media is so incredibly liberal, it seems Obama gets a favorable spin on everything he does and the GOP gets slammed. Palin may not have a lot of foreign relations experience, but did any of us have “experience” doing what we do without some mentoring and guidance? She is not a stupid woman and will do just fine with the learning curve. When was the last time a pres dropped dead or was shot? LONG TIME BABY. Look at McCains mom! Looks good and even seems to know what is going on! Obama is a socialist and if you vote for him, I hope you get an illness and have to wait in line for help. I hope you do not die, but I hope you suffer! Not only that, he is proposing to spend MORE money than anyone in history. Government is FAT and he wants MORE of it? This WAS not my favorite Palin interview, but she held up well to a grumpy Charlie Gibson this evening. Obama is a “charismatic leader”. Hitler and Stalin also fall into that category. He speaks well and has put ill-informed immature and inexperienced young people into a trance. McCain will win and you will see how he can get it together and STOP the bleeding. It will take more than 4 years to clean up Bushes errors though. Even Obama cannot do it in 4.

Some of you people are so ignorant! If I make 250K (it took me 4 years for an undergrad, 2 for a masters, and 3 for law school) why should I, who worked so hard to make that money pay 54% of my salary (I live in MN so I have a high state tax) and the other guy pay less. HOW IS THAT FAIR??????????? Where is the incentive to do well? It does not matter how much more I can make, it all goes to taxs. I think we all should pay our share, but let’s face it, the poor, even the working poor, DO NOT pay taxes. Give me break you silly dems. Oh, and Obama has not done anything in Illinois that makes a difference outside of the inner city Chicago and and the state of Illinois. He has not done anything to change the US. And he only dumped that nutty pastor when the media placed a spotlight on the nutball.

Did Palin win over the delegates: A
WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Did she “fill in the blanks” on her political record and her famly? A
I THINK WE KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT HER FAMILY. HER POLITICAL RECORD IS WAY MORE CLEAR THAN OBAMAS. HAS NOT THAT BEEN COVERED BY THE LIBERAL PRESS?
How did the Republicans fair in attacking the Dems? A
THE DEMS ARE GIVING ALL THE AMMO THEY NEED. GOP CAN STADN BCK AND LET THE DEMS RUIN IT ALL FOR THEMSELVES. BIDEN IS MILK TOAST.
Did they successfully “Turn the Page” on the Bush administration? A
THEY HAVRE TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO BUSH BASH. BUT I THINK THEY BOTH FEEL BUSH HAS NOT DONE ALL THAT HE COULD HAVE AND WHAT HE DID HAS NOT BEEN ALL THAT GREAT. REMEMBER CARTER. DID NOT THE HOME LOANS GO TO LIKE 20%???
BOTTOM LINE. YOU GOTTA VOTE YOUR GUT. I DO NOT WANT TO GOVERNMENT IN MY BED. OBAMA IS ALL ABOUT GOVERNMENT AND WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HE REALLT BELEIVES. AT LEAST THE GOP HAS IT ALL HANGING OUT. OBAMA IS JUST CLEVER IN HIS WAYS, I GOTTA AGREE WITH THE OTHER GUY. I THINK OBAMA IS CHARISMATIC, BUT NOT THE LEADER WHO CAN MAKE THE APPROPRIATE CHANGES AND SAVE US ALL SOME MONEY. NOT JUST THE RICH AS THE DEMOCRATS THINK. THE POOR REALLY DO NOT PAY TAXES. LOOK AT A SLIDING SCALE. SOMEONE WHO MAKES 125k AND LESS THAN 600k PAYS WAY MORE TAXES ON A PERCENTAGE OF SALARY BASIS THAN ANYONE ELSE. THE MIDDLE CLASS WILL DISAPPEAR AND WE WILL GO THE WAY OF EUROPE.

Clarles Gibson’s interveiw with Palin was excellent. It did appear that her answers were well rehearsed to cover her previous record. The question regarding the “Bush Doctrine” was the most revealing. It was not her answer but how she reacted to a question she did not know. Instead of admitted that she did not know, she tried to fake it.
It goes to show much about her honesty.

I thought this was a debate, however there were several questions in which Gov. Palin never answered the question. She simply went into a rehearsed campaign speech. I truly wanted to hear her answers to questions that are very important to me (health care). I still don’t know her views are.
I believe Gov. Palin should stop sidestepping and start answering the questions that are actually asked, not just saying more political rhetoric.
I want facts please.
