Sneak Peak — Stage is Set for McCain’s Big Night

ABC’s Ann Compton from St. Paul:  The stage setting for the acceptance speech John McCain dreamed of so long looks a bit like a TV reality show, or even a beauty pageant.  A long runway extends more than halfway across the arena floor.  The strange blue lectern at the end of the runway stage is a WH knock off — designed to resemble the wooden "Falcon" lectern introduced during the Bush years.  With McCain standing there, it looks as though McCain might be about to take questions at a press conference or town hall meeting surrounded by swing-state Ohio delegates. Also with orchestra seating are Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Florida, New Mexico, Virginia, and Colorado.  Those names ring a bell?  All key targets.  Arizona was not moved forward in this new floor plan, nor was Alaska.
