THREE staff members looked over the ballots and ALL missed the typo? That’s pretty sad. I’m glad at least, they got the B in Ballot correct.

I live in Rensselaer County, NY and it’s no surprise this happened. The county government manages to screw up everything time and again!

I think Palin should watch what she says. She sounds like she is trying to insight a riot and being used by the republicans. A civil war and increased racial tensions could break out. Obama wants to “create” a government health care program. That is a socialist program. Let’s see, how does that medicaid program work? Oh yeah it sucks. I should know I was a caseworker who gave it out. You are very limited on what Dr you can see, how many prescriptions you can get, how many appointements you get. A lot of really good Dr’s will not accept it because they get a very small portion of what their fee is. Not only that, the government has done a crappy job, I wouldn’t leave them in charge of my bank account, much less mine and my childrens healthcare.
All the Obama campaign has done is make people believe that our country is this horrible place to live. Even with the state of our healthcare, it is still far superior to other countries. Socialized medicine will not work in thsi country because of the increasing numbers of our population.

Our CIA and FBI knew about Osama bin Laden, even knew where he was and had their sights on him at one time and the CIA were forced to back off. Al Qaeda was planning 9/11 for 2 yrs, during the Clinton adm, 10 months before Clinton left office he lowered our defense spending by 35%. Nine months later 9/11 happened. Clinton was just worried about digging into that surplus to defend out country against terrorist.

How many times have you heard John McCain and Fluffy talk about the economy this week and how they are going to fix it.

If the GOP had chosen Romney in the primaries then the focus would be on the economy and not the smears. I think Romney would be ahead by a mile. Instead it’s a campaign of smears. Most of it old news. Americans are tired of the smears. If McCain dumps palin and picks up Romney for VP he might still have a chance, albeit a slim one. As is, I cannot support the McCain/Palin ticket.

According to both Washington Post and Reuters, Sen. Obama has raised millions of dollars in very questionable contributions including our enemy, Iran. That includes over $17,000 given in $25 increments by someone named “Good Will” and listing his employer as “Loving” and his occupation as “You”. I look at the issues and where that candidate stands in relation to what my concerns are. I don’t care if they are a Republican or a Democrat. I was actually thinking about voting McCain after Hillary lost.

The sub-prime mortgage mess has costs USA $3 trillion dollars in losses as of today. The whole idea and legislation for allowing low income people to sign mortgages to own homes is the responsibility of the Clinton Administration and the Democrats. It does not seem that Senator Obama has any good ideas about the crises and McCain’s ideas have been no-no’d even though it would help the actual home owners. 2. What could she write? McCain hasn’t laid out much of a health care policy has he? A $5000 tax-credit to be paid for by taxing existing employee provided health care policies? Allowing policy buyers “to shop across state lines”, which only means that health care companies would incorporate in the state with the least regulations and the lowest requirements?
McCain’s health care proposal: tax existing benefits, and then race to the bottom!

David Kernell, 20, of Knoxville, Tenn. entered the plea in federal court in Knoxville, the same day prosecutors unsealed an indictment charging him with intentionally accessing Palin’s e-mail account without authorization.
Kernell, an economics student at the University of Tennessee, was brought into court wearing handcuffs and shackles on his ankles.
He was released without posting bond, but the court limited his computer use to checking his own e-mail and doing class work.
Kernell’s father is longtime state Rep. Mike Kernell of Memphis, chairman of Tennessee’s House Government Operations Committee. The lawmaker has said he had nothing to do with the hacking incident.
David Kernell was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Knoxville and faces a maximum of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. Trial is set for Dec. 16.
The investigation is continuing. The indictment said at least one other person successfully reset Palin’s e-mail password and accessed her e-mail account after the hacker named “rubico,” whom the government contends is Kernell, posted his exploits on the Web.
“I wouldn’t say specifically whether that other individual may be charged or not,” Justice Department spokeswoman Laura Sweeney said from Washington.
U.S. Magistrate Judge C. Clifford Shirley restricted Kernell from discussing the case with any potential witnesses, which include his roommates.
Kernell was also restricted from having any contact directly or indirectly with the Alaska governor or her family.
Shirley warned that if Kernell violated any part of his release conditions, he would be held until the trial.
Kernell’s attorney, Wade Davies, accompanied his client in court.

A few days ago, CNN anchor Campbell Brown went on a very personal attack against Republican Vice-Presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds was giving Brown an interview, when she decided to place the focus of the conversation on the Governor’s 17-year old daughter Bristol, who is pregnant.
Brown said: “Tucker, though, this obviously putting this young woman, Bristol Palin smack in the media spotlight at what’s already got to be a very challenging time in her life. I mean, how do you respond to people who wonder why her mother would have subjected her to this scrutiny by accepting this high-profile position?”
Brown went on to say: “I recognize that in an ideal world, it would be private. You know, this is a presidential campaign. Nothing is private. The world is watching and if we, you know, as much as everyone might want to give this young woman her privacy, you know that’s not going to happen. And so you do risk putting her through an incredibly difficult process by accepting this job if you’re her mother. You can’t deny that, right?”
Well, this is obviously not an ideal world. Nor is it any longer a world in which the press gives legitimate, unbiased coverage to any and all candidates. This is in fact, now a world in which the press has decided to join the side of the leftist Democrat Party, and attack the Republican Party. Night after night, that same press ignores the fact that Barack Obama launched his political career at the home of unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers, while attacking the parenting skills of Sarah Palin.
Since CNN’s Campbell Brown has changed the rules of the game, and it is now evidently appropriate for the mainstream media to question a candidate’s parenting skills and focus on the behavior of the candidate’s family…Then it is also fair to examine the behavior of those related to those members of the press who pose such questions.
In 2003, CNN’s Campbell Brown’s father Jim Brown served six months in federal prison, after being convicted of lying to a federal agent, during a fraud and conspiracy investigation involving Cascade Insurance Co. At the time, Jim Brown was serving as the insurance commissioner of Louisiana, a position which he was forced to resign after the U.S. Supreme Court refused his appeal for the second time. Brown continued that position’s legacy, as the two previous insurance commissioners were convicted of taking bribes and illegal campaign contributions from insurance companies, and still sit in federal prison.
So I would pose this question to Campbell Brown: Since the world is watching you…Do you think it is fair to your father to place this kind of scrutiny on him, since he is a convicted federal criminal? I mean, I know that it has to be painful for him. So don’t you think that you should have ended your journalistic career after he was convicted and resigned in disgrace? You want to be a good daughter don’t you?
We are currently seeing the most illegitimate campaign coverage in U.S. political history. We have seen so-called journalists become nothing more than cheerleaders for the left, and press secretaries for Barack Hussein Obama. In fact, I believe that the Obama campaign should have to list the glowing coverage provided by MSNBC as an in-kind campaign contribution!
I as a true conservative, now find myself in the unusual and uncomfortable position of defending the Republican Party presidential nominee. However, when the left-wing ignores major issues, and so alters their coverage to paint the Democrat as basically the next messiah, and stoops so low as to attack a child…I have no choice.
If those who often cheer for our enemies and hate this nation so much that they would refuse to report the truth as it relates to the success of our troops, as well as to the more than questionable past of Barack Hussein Obama, no one who loves this country has any choice but to support Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin.

*I’ll have to borrow those hysterical-colored spectacles from Time’s Karen Tumulty, who spotted racist goblins in the recent McCain ad criticizing Obama for seeking advice from Fannie Mae corruptocrat, Franklin Raines. “Sinister images of two black men, followed by one of a vulnerable-looking elderly white woman,” Tumulty balked in a blog post titled “McCain plays the race card.”
Um, “sinister?” The ad’s photos of Obama and Raines were standard shots — some with dour expressions, others smiling. The fact that Tumulty perceived them as “sinister” suggests that she should perform a self-racism exam before diagnosing anyone else.
*A parade of Congressional witch hunters for Obama also detects the specter of George Wallace behind every policy bush. Democrat New York Gov. David Paterson says conservative criticism of Obama’s community organizing days is code for “black.” Democrat Rep. Gregory Meeks complained to the New York Observer: “They are trying to throw out these codes.” In the same piece, Democrat Rep. Yvette Clark divined segregationist intent in Palin’s references to Joe Six Pack and hockey moms. “It leaves a lot of people out.”
And Democrat Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid echoed Time’s Tumulty on the McCain camp’s Obama/Raines broadsides: “The only connection that people could bring up about Raines and Barack Obama is that they both are African-American, other than that there is nothing.”
The Washington Post reported that Obama’s office phoned up Raines for housing advice and has stood by its reporting. Is the newspaper part of the McCain/Palin hooded racists’ coven, too?

Obama fundraiser, convicted of fraud, spills beans

CHICAGO (AP) — Jailed political fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko, the Chicago real estate developer who helped launch Barack Obama on his political career, is whispering secrets to federal prosecutors about corruption in Illinois and the political fallout could be explosive.
Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich, whose administration faces multiple federal investigations over how it handed out jobs and money with advice from Rezko, is considered the most vulnerable.
Rezko also was friendly with Obama — offering him a job when he finished law school, funding his earliest political campaigns and purchasing a lot next to his house. But based on the known facts, charges so far and testimony at Rezko’s trial, there’s no indication there’ll be an October surprise that could hurt the Democratic presidential nominee — even though Rezko says prosecutors are pressing him for dirt about Obama.
“I think this strikes fear into the Blagojevich administration and the Statehouse Democrats but not into the Obama campaign,” says state Sen. Kirk Dillard, R-Westmont, a John McCain delegate to the GOP convention but an old friend of Obama.
Rezko, 53, a real estate developer, was convicted in June of scheming to use his clout with the Blagojevich administration to squeeze $7 million in kickbacks out of a contractor and seven money management firms seeking to do business with the state.
Within two months, Rezko was seen in U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald’s office, along with his attorneys.
There has been no official confirmation that Rezko is talking but his sentencing has been postponed indefinitely and both sides say they are going to “engage in discussions that could affect their sentencing postures.”
“They never would have delayed the sentencing if he weren’t talking — it’s proof positive,” said Jay Stewart, executive director of the Better Government Association of Chicago.
In addition, attorneys say federal investigators have been questioning Blagojevich contributions around the state using information that only Rezko could have supplied. Finally, courthouse personnel requesting anonymity because grand jury probes are secret said Rezko has been repeatedly brought from his cell to the U.S. attorney’s office to talk to prosecutors.
Rezko could have a lot to tell. He has raised millions of dollars in campaign money for many Illinois politicians and according to federal prosecutors used his clout to control appointments to state boards.
Obama has sent to charity $159,000 that Rezko raised for his campaigns for the state legislature, the House and the Senate. Rezko raised nothing for Obama’s White House run.
Obama’s name came up in testimony at the trial four times, twice in connection with an obscure legislative memo, as a guest at a Rezko party and when defense attorney Joseph Duffy told jurors his client was a friend of the senator.
None of the witnesses accused the Democratic nominee for president of doing anything improper.
But questions concerning Obama’s relationship with Rezko linger, particularly over Rezko’s role in the purchase of the Obamas’ home.
The two have known each other for years, starting when Rezko offered Obama a job after he graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. Obama didn’t take it, but a friendship developed.
The men talked politics frequently and occasionally dined together with their wives.
In 2005, the Obamas paid $1.65 million for their home near the University of Chicago. The sellers wanted a parcel they owned next door to sell on the same day, and Rezko’s wife, Rita, was the buyer. At the request of the Obamas, Mrs. Rezko later sold them a 10-foot strip of land to enlarge their lot. They paid $104,500.
The deal took place while Rezko was under investigation and when details of the cozy relationship surfaced, Obama said it was a “bonehead” error to have asked for the additional land because it looked like he was getting a favor.
“I regret it,” Obama said at the time. “I’m going to make sure that from this point on I don’t even come close to the line.”
McCain and vice running mate Sarah Palin have mentioned Rezko little if at all. But Republicans have aired a television ad focusing on Rezko. And McCain aides have repeatedly tweaked their opponent over the real estate deal in e-mails to reporters.
“We’re delighted to have a debate on judgment with Barack Obama, who bought his million-dollar mansion in a shady deal with a convicted felon,” McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said in August.
Blagojevich, meanwhile, got a black eye from the trial.
One witness testified that Blagojevich talked about hiring him for a major state job while his $25,000 donation to the governor’s campaign fund was lying on the table.

Obama’s name has not surfaced in accounts of the investigation since the trial. But Rezko himself raised it in a letter to the judge months ago.
“Your Honor, the prosecutors have been overzealous in pursuing a crime that never happened,” he wrote. “They are pressuring me to tell them the wrong things that I supposedly know about Gov. Blagojevich and Sen. Barack Obama.”

Mr. McCain needs to tell the story about his past. Yes, we all know about his military career and the fact that he was a POW for many years. I would like to hear the truth about his role during the fire onboard the USS Aircraft Carrier Forestal. I have read that his story of his role has changed more than he has changed his underpants in the past 35 years. A true account of his jet catching fire, his so called wounds, his plane captain dying as McCain watched – very questionable that this happened, and how he left the Carrier, for R and R in Saigon, while the fire was still being fought by brave sailors. I would like to know the truth about Mr. McCain’s six years stay as a POW during the Vietnam War. Mr. McCain talks about Mr. Obama’s association with a 1960′s terrorist who was againist the war in Vietnam, and who is now for better living conditions, and better schools. Lets talk about Mr. McCain’s imprisonment as a POW and whether or not he gave to the VietCong more information than his name, rank, and service number. He sure did get treated better than most while in the Hanoi Hilton Prison.

Deliberate or not, whoever is responsible should have their pay docked to the equivalent of replacement absentee ballots with the correct spelling, including mailing charges. I know if someone spelled McInsane on the ballot, the republicans would be screaming bloody murder and for heads to roll.

Karl Rove said last month….look for an Oct. surprise…maybe because he knew who planted these voter sheets with Obama’s name on it. He is the last person in the world I would trust. i live in troy ny and i gotta say i highly doubt it was a mistake. this county is pretty backwoods with alot of rednecks and racists and i wouldnt doubt that they did it intentionally.
