Bus Tour Reaches End Of the Road

Charlie Gibson spent the week traveling thousands of miles, through battleground states on a big bus tour, talking to voters about the issues on their minds before the election. Take a look!

I truly have enjoyed watching the World News bus tour this week… The 50 States in 50 Days special was a brilliant idea – including the GMA Whistle Stop tour. Fantastic job to everyone at ABC News!

Charlie I enjoy listening to you.
However, Here Are Some Very Serious Questions We Need To Think About.
Is Freedom Absolute?
Does absolute freedom of Speech really exist? If it exists, is it right to use it to hurt other?
Is the use of force the right way to settle a dispute?
What are our basic and most important challenges?
What should be the ideal relationship between the government and the governed?
Who do elected leaders represent? Do they represent people who elected them or a few who exact finance influence on them? How do you measure the accomplishment of a leader?
Can only one party get things done without the support of other Parties?
Is there any leader who is a Saint? Can you show me a leader without a controversial past?
Can on race claim superiority over another and yet be true to the teachings of his religion?
How could claim to be God loving people and them look down on others?
How could we claim that we are Christians, yet we do not recognize the importance of “Love thy neighbor as thyself” or “Do unto others as wish others to do unto thee?”
What moral authority do we have to talk about abortion and ignore violence, inequality, racism, poverty, disparities of all kinds, homelessness, intolerance (religious), social and economic injustice, Unemployment and many other issues affecting citizens of this Great Nation?
Why do we keep voting for leaders, who promise to fix a problem but once in power, respond to the interests of the already wealthy and powerful in the society and do little?
Are we sincere with the causes of our economic situation today?
Are we sincere with the way we blame others and exclude taking any responsibilities?
Why are we blind to seeing that the unjust rise of the cost of housing is real treat?
How can we justify that a house that was build at the cost of $50,000.00 should be sold 5 times the actual cost? Is this fare? Is life just about making profit?
Is there any relationship between the Security of a Nation, the Health of its citizens and the Economic well being of its citizens?
How could we spend so much on war and spend less on education, health care, and other program?
What are the benefits of wars?
Who benefits from wars?
Why do we uphold the idea that the government should be small yet when problems like the ones we face today we want the government to rescue problems to serious and of immense magnitude?
Do we really have the interest of the Nation in mind or we are just exploiting others?
Why can’t we be strong for once by acknowledging our mistakes and take the responsibilities of correcting them instead of laying blames?
A good leader acknowledges mistakes made but a better leader is one who is resolved to fixing it.
An honest leader gets all his followers and available resources together to fix a problem.
A true and honest leader does not and cannot exclude him-self or her-self when thing go wrong since they do take credit when things do go well.
The motto should be “What is right to be done and not who is right.” Today our leaders should present to us what could be done to resolve our present problems. Our leaders should focus all their energy on presenting a comprehensive approach as well as a unified front in confronting our challenges.
Why do leaders not get things done? Can a leader discrete an opponent and later expect his opponent support his plan? Do leaders think that there is only one way to deal with our challenges?
Their ways or no way! Is this what governance is all about? No! We should rethink our ways. We are fed-up of contradictions that are fatally antagonism. We are bound to have differences and the way we see, understand things may be different but a true, honest and good leader recognizes that his opponent has a right too to think differently. The unity make things go well and makes it possible to accomplish a lot.

Re: $50,000 cost to build a house
You have to add in the cost of the lot
(don’t forget the supply and demand law); the driveway; landscaping (which
includes ‘fill’=dirt here in LA); then
the labor – people don’t work for
nothing; the cost of insurance while
building the house; the cost of the
person (superintendent) who is in charge of
building the house; the people who are
building the house – you have to add
on their benefits:insurance,etc.
The cost of the material is very high:
(don’t forget plumbing, electrical,
cabinets, bathrooms,etc,etc.)
It all adds up; everyone wants to and
needs to be paid. THEN, OF COURSE, THERE
IS A LITTLE MATTER OF PROFIT. The company who is building the house must
make a profit in order to stay in
business. Don’t forget the real estate
agents. It all adds up.
Now, if building a house has many layers, I can kind of see why we are in
this mess. It all works IF everybody does their job.
People like Barney Frank (who was over
the housing and banking laws), Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and everybody else
did not do their job correctly. They
deviated from what works. They were of
the belief: “the end justifies the means”. However, their means crashed
the whole system.
The news media must be brave enough and
honest with themselves. Do a timeline.
I’m sure there is a lot of blame on both
sides of the aisle. There’s a lot of
blame with greedy banks and organizations. There also is a lot of
plain stupidty on individuals.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT.
ALWAYS GET A FIXED INTEREST RATE.
I KNEW THAT FROM MY OWN MOTHER AND SHE
WAS BORNED IN 1917. (I don’t blame people for wanting a home. But you see
the end results. A dream has to be
delayed sometimes; a dream has to be
changed sometimes. Keep your goal alived
but don’t stack the odds against you by
taking on a mortgage with ballooning
interest rates.)
We should NOT panic (anxious, perhaps)-
panic – no. We will overcome this only
if we all work on this together.
This is no time for politicians to
score brownie points. JUST DO YOUR JOB.
and we will do ours. We must show the
world and ourselves that we can roll
with the punches and come out victorious. (corny? yeah – but losing
is not an option).

Charlie, what do you think about the
ruling in Ohio? Apparently, we had plenty of time after the 2000 election to count the hanging chads. Why do we not have time 3 weeks before the election to check voter registrations’s identification? Everyone must be careful with this. This probably will affect future elections for now on – on both sides of the coin.
An election should not be manipulated by EITHER side.
There has to be a better way. I believe that in some states a person does not have to show identification. I think
ID and finger prints are in order for all people to vote. I work with the poor in hospitals – just about everyone has some form of an ID; everyone does have fingerprints. Mr. Gibson, as a journalist who works for ABC, could we not call for a better solution in order to protect the rights we have? I know
ABC will take the lead on this.

McCain succumbed to the forces of fear – Obama remained faithful to the forces of hope and optimism. Maybe Charlie should get on the Obama bus. ……….

Mr. Gibson
could you please look into to the lawsuit filed against Obama to produce Birth certificate? if has nothing to hide, why is he hiding his BC, or why won’t he release his college transcripts? this is serious and I hope you are not covering for him. Please help.
we need to know before Nov 4th…

I also would like to say Amen to Frieda. When the hell is ABC going to do some truly investigative reporting? Instead of Charlie Gibson glaring over those stupid glasses of his…he could put himself to better use by digging through the records about Obama’s birth certificate. But you know…I’m not holding my breath. ABC and every last of those empty suits that reads the news, sits on the couches for the morning shows and chirp on like magpies are so far down the toilet for Obama that they don’t even know they have reached the Sewage Treatment plant. Shame on you Charlie Gibson. Shame on you ABC news…I simply have the satisfaction of turning another channel period.
