Obama will win a decisive victory and Dems will sweep House and Senate races from coast-to-coast. This is a transformational election that will realign the electoral map for the next 20 years. The BushGOP was a complete disaster for the country and the mood is angry as hell and ready to throw the bums out and get the nation back on its feet.

Polls are wrong so many times that they are a joke. Go by the polls in history and you will find that a large percentage of the time they are totally wrong.

I think that polls do lie. Many people vote several times as most polls don’t check if a person has voted more than once. I have lived long enough to know that when it comes to elections, anything can happen. I also believe that people sometimes say what they believe people want to hear, but when it come to the voting booth, they change their mind. I do believe that Obama will win, because as a ex-McCain supporter, the new McCain is not the one I always backed a liked so much. His tactics are not what I expected from him, and I liked the old McCain so much. We deserved more from him. A lot of my friends now feel the same way.

I think NOT! Once all the hidden Republicans come out to vote I don’t think he stands a chance. Right now all of us McCain/Palin supporters are afraid to come out in the open because of all the harrassment and hate shone to us by the the Obama brown nosers.

Your bias is showing! what is wrong with ABC, CNN, CBS, NBC. IS IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANY OF YOU TO BE FAIR?
THE POLLS LIE.
Posted by: MARY | October 23, 2008, 12:13 am 12:13 am
I doubt the polls and their numbers.
Posted by: Ashraf | October 23, 2008, 12:14 am 12:14 am
No, I don’t think polls matter. They really haven’t in the past. Besides the liberal media (T.V., radio, magazines and newspapers) wouldn’t give the truth if it was on the end of their noses!!!! :( They hate conservatives and DON’T remain unbias. I don’t know one person who has been involved in the polls so who are they asking?
Posted by: Becky White | October 23, 2008, 12:14 am 12:14 am
I have never had much trust in polls because they tend to swing way to left or right depending on who polled and who is doing the polling.
One reason I never trust polls is because I believe many of them are influenced by a very liberal media.
Remember what happened with Truman and Dewey. Dewey was prancing around like a proud rooster in a barnyard and Truman took the election right from him. That could very well happen again because I do not believe that many people will make up their mind until they pull the curtain shut at the voting booth.

Polls are pretty accurate. I believe the majority of the voters really do want a change. We cannot continue in this same state pf chaos. Obama will have a lot of work ahead of him. But I know he can do a better job of what is currently happening.

No, Obama will not win – polls are inaccurate!! The polls do not get an accurate cross country diversity when they poll people.
John McCain has qualified legally registered voters that will show up and vote!!

i see a backlash against the media in their overwhelming support of Obama. Do any of the polls know that formerly strong Democrats will now be voting for Mccain/Palin? No they don’t.
Posted by: sarah | October 23, 2008, 12:16 am 12:16 am
I believe polls are biased and discriminatory. I also believe the media only tells the American people what the Liberal Media wants them to hear. “Obama is already the leader…”
This delivers a message one of two ways. The first…No need to vote, Obama has already won or better yet the sector of Americans who are really dangerous to everyone and those are the ones who simply want to vote for “A Winner”. Please stop. You can not poll everyone so how can anyone or any organization deliver to the public anything more than an opinion? You CANNOT! The only thing that is going to count is who the American people vote for next Tuesday…Nothing else matters and may God help us all to make the right choice!!!

Hey ABC – How did you come to miss the news story on the recent AP Poll showing the election to be a dead heat with 44% for Obama and 43% for McCain? Too close for you to comfortably report to suit the one sided reporting of ABC?
You know what? You might just be at a loss for explanations if enough of us fed up Democrats & Republications turn out and upset this election just to prove you wrong.
Posted by: James | October 23, 2008, 12:19 am 12:19 am
Yes, the polls lie especially, the CBS/ABC/NBC/Washington Post/New York Times polls since they are all in the tank for Obama. I have seen some other polls like IBD that say the difference is 1 or 2 points. The race is tightening up and I predict that inspite of the one sided media bias towards Obama John McCain will win the presidency.
Posted by: Bharat Agrawal | October 23, 2008, 12:21 am 12:21 am
Obama will definitely win because too many people are suffering because of the selfishness of the republicans. The only following that McCain/Palin has now are racists who are simply afraid of seeing anyone other than themselves leading America. There is no other reason. All of the repubs tactics have back fired and all they have left are the votes of the rejects of this society who either uneducated small town hicks or upper class snobbs whose noses are too high in the air to even smell the crap that America has gotten into. OBAMA will be PRESIDENT because it is a new day…CHANGE is always inevitable.
Posted by: Beawell | October 23, 2008, 12:22 am 12:22 am
The only poll that matters in Nov 4th and that’s the one McCain/Palin will win!! The rest is wishful thinking from the media for their “darling” Obama. I have more faith in the American voter to think they would put such little experience in the White House and one who according to his running mate will be tested!!! Give me a break. Yes the terrorists will test Obama who has will sit down with them and say”please don’t hate us”. They will not test McCain, because he cannot be intimidated. He has no fear. He has been to hell and back. Tell me what possibly do you think would make him Blink!!! NOTHING

Based on my personal experience over the past two weeks; the polls are way off. I attended a non political event in PA last week. People were there from all over the country. Everyone that I spoke to was for John McCain and really afraid of what Obama would do if he ever got in. I have one friend that is for Obama and his only reason is that he is mad at Bush. The slanted liberal news media is in for a big surprise.

I don’t trust the poll. I’m not saying the poll is lying. But there are many factors affecting the poll:
1) when do you do the survey? Do you do at night or day time, weekdays or weekends? Some people are not reachable at daytime, some not reachable at night, some not reachable at weekdays while some not reachable during weekends. I guess most Obama supporters are young, they are close to computer every day, they are very reachable, so they are easily caught in the survey.
2) how do you do the survey? By phone? Online? Well, same reason, for the computer players, they can submit their survey results everyday and every night.
3) where do you do the survey? In surper market, school, home, club, gym? In public places, people tend to say things favoring the majority, at home, people may worry who is the one on the other side listening?
4) some people don’t tell truth. Not because they are liar, they just don’t want to bring embarrassment. I know some people don’t like Obama, but they just say they are not decided, because they are surrounded by Obama supporters.
I don’t believe Obama has such big lead. In my city, I saw 70% yard signs are for McCain.
I think it’s unfair for the media to put unnecessary pressure on McCain by saying that Obama has big lead in polls.

Barring a national security crisis right before the election, as in 2004, I do believe that Obama will win the election. I do not however, believe that his lead in the popular vote will be in the double-digits. I think that John McCain should have played it safe and chosen someone like Mike Huckabee to be his running mate. He’s never been one to play it safe though. Choosing Sarah Palin was like a Hail Mary and on November 5th we’ll see if the hockey moms will have made the difference for McCain.

Polls don’t lie, people do. When it comes to politics the only poll that counts is on election day and Florida proved that even then you can’t be sure. I think the election will be very close and we will be up until late at night before Obama wins.
Posted by: Dean | October 23, 2008, 12:31 am 12:31 am
Polls don’t lie, they are just inadequate mathematical models to predict the outcome (or even a realistic glimpse) of the way the vote will go. Therefore they are wrong. There are so many ways to introduce bias in this particular election that they are nearly worthless. Fake voter registrations (ACORN) alone may be responsible for skewing the numbers towards Obama. If you don’t understand then it is likely you didn’t take more than 24 hours of advanced math in college like most of us engineers/math majors. McCains’ numbers at worst are a near tie. Bush was down 6% on election day in’04! Just wait…!

Yes he can win
Posted by: Paul | October 23, 2008, 12:38 am 12:38 am
I think lie is a strong word when discussing polling but I would suggest we just look back at 2000 and 2004 to see how close the polls matched the results.
I think only one poll got within 1 point of the actual outcome in the last 2 election cycles, the IBD poll.

I have friends in FL who SAW the Democrats putting drunks and drug addicts on the buses to VOTE in 2004 then they couldn’t focus to vote!!! It backfired on the DEMOCRATS!!!! :) They got what they deserved. They shouldn’t have tried to cheat. The poor souls punched too many holes!!! The liberal media wouldn’t tell this truth anyway. They would rather blame the Republicans than themselves.

Polls lie, I really think that McCain supporters are not exhibiting for several reasons, one of which is that “it’s not O K to vote against Obama” That makes you a racist, But if you can vote for a black person because they’re black, isn’t that racist ? The media is very slanted and full of lies, one perky interviewer asked Mrs Obama “WHEN you are first lady” and when she was interviewing Mrs McCain she said “IF you were to become first lady”. Tell me that’s not slanted.I think once people realize that we live in the United States of America NOT the United Socialist States of America and that we can’t have the government doing it all,John MCain will have a clean ticket to the White House. The polls are wrong and it’s really being done to try to get the democrat elected,Doesn’t anyone realize they’ve been in control for two years and have been involved deeply in the economic meltdown and gotten nothing done.It doesn’t matter how much money you have if you’re not safe. Everyone is forgetting 9-11 Thank God the democrats weren’t elected, we would have bombed another Pharmaceutical factory.
Posted by: Allison | October 23, 2008, 12:44 am 12:44 am
Taking an honest poll at the present time would show Obama ahead about 1%.
ABC is adding about 10 to the true polling results, hoping to sway the election in Obamas favor.
To make their last poll befor election day look accurate, when compared to the elction results, they will have to gradually add a lesser amount of fake points as we get closer and closer to election day.
By election day an acurate poll will show McCain about 1% ahead, which will be backed up by the election itself, which of course is the only thing that has any real importance.

“among likely voters” I.e., a selected sample, probably a very carefully selected sample.
I just checked the AOL Straw Poll. While not totally random, it is not selected. It has McCain leading by 14 points (56% to 42%), a 25 point difference.
I’m more inclined to believe the straw poll than one engineered to produce a predetermined result.

The US is in a mess. we are divided amoungest ourselves but want to tell others how and what to do. We need to pray and ask the true and living God for guidance on what to do and say, all we do is make decision based on emotions instead of what is right and true. I do not believe the polls are accurate. I just want the right person in the office, and who that is Im not really sure. I will vote and it is know body’s business who I vote for, as long as I vote.

I do not think the polls are accurate. The media is so biased that they only look for news that is favorable to Obama. They along with the Hollywood groupies put a negetive light on anything reported about McCain or Palin. I don’t know why they think it is their duty to interpret what has been said. I think the public is smart enough to discern for themselves what the message was. The silent majority may surprise everyone on election day. How long did it take Nightline to find a democratic Maveric in TX to show in their viewpoint that McCain is No Maveric. Why aren’t they digging up something on Obama?

People are not hearing or listening about the financial support that Fannie Mae gave to Obama. Their CEO also called Obama part of the family!!!!! Clinton sent companies overseas not Bush. Clinton is a snake, but the Democrats don’t want to see the mess he made in Arkansas and the White House. When he has no morals as a President, he is a VERY weak leader. You can’t trust him as he lied too many times.
Posted by: Becky White | October 23, 2008, 12:53 am 12:53 am
I sincerely hope there is a backlash against the MSM. They have been dishonest in their coverage, have let lies go unanswered and shown their bias in a way I never thought possible. I used to trust the media, especially ABC. No longer. There is no honesty in journalism anymore. No digging for the truth because, we the american people, deserve the truth. We are fed garbage these days and we eat it up, devour it and spout it as truth the next day. The media has shaped our thinking, but now I dont trust them to be fair. If Obama wins this election and this country spirals out of control, please refer the lies we’ve been fed or truths untold. And know that the dumbing down of America has finally taken place.

Amen, Glenda. If we go down,it will be because Americans don’t care to do the research. They just want their ears tickle. A black guy at the GOP meeting Monday night said that if people would really listen that they would realize that Obama is so long winded that he DOESN’T answer the questions!!!!!

I believe polls are a good gauge of what people are thinking at the moment but I would not bet the farm on them.
However, I believe people will be stunned at how many vote for Obama. Where I live you do not dare say you are voting for Obama nor do you put his signs in your yard…especially in the smaller communities. It is just better and easier to let the neocons rave on about the lies the Palin/McCain continue to spread about Obama…then quietly go vote for him.
Posted by: Sandy in Texas | October 23, 2008, 1:06 am 1:06 am
I agree with Allison; ABC, just like the rest of the liberal media, will add points to the poll, to make it appear that Barack Obama is leading in the polls, because they want to see Obama as President. What scares me is that Obama, as eloquent a speaker that he is, will lead this country down the slippery slopes of Socialism.
People ridicule Sarah Palin because of her inexperience. What exact experience has Obama that qualifies him to be President? He’s a politician from Chicago, which is a town well known for corrupt politics. He was barely in the Senate when he announced that he was running for President.
Between Obama’s choice of friends (Willioam Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dorn) and his choice of spiritual leader (Jeremiah Wright) tell us volumns about the kind of individuals he’ll have as advisors if he gets elected.

If we listen to you ABC News, McCain is already defeated..But, guess what? A lot of us are waiting until election day to vote because the simple reason, I hope and pray they throw out all the early votes because of the fraud that has taken place..So, don’t count McCain out just yet..A lot of us are biding our time.

I think the polls are quite indicative of what will happen if the elections were held when the polls are taken.
Having said that, with this large a margin, it is going to be nearly impossible for Mr. McCain to close the gap in two weeks.
I believe Mr. Obama will win with a 4-5% lead – not the 10-14% seen now.
Posted by: Onlooker | October 23, 2008, 1:28 am 1:28 am
Joseph your statement about experience is right on. Dems carry on about Sarah Palin being inexperienced and one heartbeat away form bing president but they will vote for someone and havee no doubt about an inexperienced person occupying the presidents chair. Just can’t understand that!!!

SARAH PALIN AND JOE BIDEN BOTH SPOKE AT RALLIES IN OUR AREA OF COLORADO THIS WEEK. AT PALIN’S RALLY OVER 10,000 PEOPLE CAME TO SEE HER AND ONLY 3,400 PEOPLE TURNED OUT TO SEE BIDEN, ACCORDING TO COLORADO NEWS MEDIA COUNT. THE RALLIES WERE HELD 22 MILES APART WITHIN 24 HOURS OF EACH OTHER. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT SARAH PALIN IS IGNITING ORDINARY PEOPLE WHO RELATE TO HER AND WILL VOTE FOR THE MCCAIN/PALIN TICKET. IF SHE IS SUCH A “DRAG” (ABC’S WORDS)ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET, WHY IS SHE ATTRACTING SUCH CROWDS? IT IS CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT ABC IS TRYING TO DISCREDIT THE GOP TICKET AND MANUFACTURE DOUBT IN THE MINDS OF UNINFORMED AMERICANS. WHY DIDN’T ABC REPORT THE LATEST AP POLL THAT SHOWS MCCAIN WITHIN 1% OF OBAMA? ABC’S OBAMA BIAS IS BLATANT AND GETTING TIRESOME.

So many delusional posts about the polls lying. Look, people, polling has been going on for a long, long time and while it’s not perfect, it gives a pretty good feel for who’s ahead, especially when you consider more than one poll. Furthermore, the national polls are not nearly as important as the state polls, which will actually decide the election. Gallup and Rasmussen are probably the two most reliable and stable pollsters and even they are showing a 7-9% national lead for Obama right now, as well as leads in almost all the swing states. Face it, Obama is winning by quite a bit right now. BTW, the polls in the last couple of weeks leading up to the elections in 2000 and 2004 were pretty darn close to being right … you know, the years when Bush won. Funny how all of a sudden now “the polls lie.”
Posted by: Kevin | October 23, 2008, 1:49 am 1:49 am
I think Obama will win. The polls have been very consistent for a few weeks now, this is a good sign for Obama.
Even more than that look at the McCain campaign, they have given up. It is all negative, he and Palin aren’t getting along, they look clumsy, out of sync, and are without a coherent message.
The Republicans are now fighting with McCain himself. It is over for them they know it.
Posted by: Thinking | October 23, 2008, 1:50 am 1:50 am
The way news ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, NY Times, & puts it, Obama is going to win hands down. The news media as a whole want Obama to be elected and will not let anything like facts get in the way.
IF Obama actually wins it is not because he is qualified. IF he wins it is because of the journalistic dishonesty and lack of integrity of the news media as Famous writer & columnist, Orson Scott Card, refers to in his column “Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?”
http://www.linearpublishing.com/orsonscottcard.html
Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?
by Orson Scott Card
An open letter to the local daily paper — almost every local daily paper in America:
I remember reading All the President’s Men and thinking: That’s journalism. You do what it takes to get the truth and you lay it before the public, because the public has a right to know.
This housing crisis didn’t come out of nowhere. It was not a vague emanation of the evil Bush administration.
It was a direct result of the political decision, back in the late 1990s, to loosen the rules of lending so that home loans would be more accessible to poor people. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were authorized to approve risky loans.
What is a risky loan? It’s a loan that the recipient is likely not to be able to repay.
The goal of this rule change was to help the poor — which especially would help members of minority groups. But how does it help these people to give them a loan that they can’t repay? They get into a house, yes, but when they can’t make the payments, they lose the house — along with their credit rating.
They end up worse off than before.
This was completely foreseeable and in fact many people did foresee it. One political party, in Congress and in the executive branch, tried repeatedly to tighten up the rules. The other party blocked every such attempt and tried to loosen them.
Furthermore, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were making political contributions to the very members of Congress who were allowing them to make irresponsible loans. (Though why quasi-federal agencies were allowed to do so baffles me. It’s as if the Pentagon were allowed to contribute to the political campaigns of congressmen who support increasing their budget.)
Isn’t there a story here? Doesn’t journalism require that you who produce our daily paper tell the truth about who brought us to a position where the only way to keep confidence in our economy was a $700 billion bailout? Aren’t you supposed to follow the money and see which politicians were benefiting personally from the deregulation of mortgage lending?
I have no doubt that if these facts had pointed to the Republican Party or to John McCain as the guilty parties, you would be treating it as a vast scandal. “Housing-gate,” no doubt. Or “Fannie-gate.”
Instead, it was Sen. Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, both Democrats, who denied that there were any problems, who refused Bush administration requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and who were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans almost up to the minute they failed.
As Thomas Sowell points out in a TownHall.com essay entitled “Do Facts Matter?” (http://snipurl.com/457to): “Alan Greenspan warned them four years ago. So did the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the President. So did Bush’s Secretary of the Treasury.”
These are facts. This financial crisis was completely preventable. The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was … the Democratic Party. The party that tried to prevent it was … the Republican Party.
Yet when Nancy Pelosi accused the Bush administration and Republican deregulation of causing the crisis, you in the press did not hold her to account for her lie. Instead, you criticized Republicans who took offense at this lie and refused to vote for the bailout!
What? It’s not the liar, but the victims of the lie who are to blame?
Now let’s follow the money … right to the presidential candidate who is the number two recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae.
And after Fred Raines, the CEO of Fannie Mae who made $90 million while running it into the ground, was fired for his incompetence, one presidential candidate’s campaign actually consulted him for advice on housing.
If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be getting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.
But instead, that candidate was Barack Obama, and so you have buried this story, and when the McCain campaign dared to call Raines an “adviser” to the Obama campaign — because that campaign had sought his advice — you actually let Obama’s people get away with accusing McCain of lying, merely because Raines wasn’t listed as an official adviser to the Obama campaign.
You would never tolerate such weasely nit-picking from a Republican.
If you who produce our local daily paper actually had any principles, you would be pounding this story, because the prosperity of all Americans was put at risk by the foolish, short-sighted, politically selfish and possibly corrupt actions of leading Democrats, including Obama.
If you who produce our local daily paper had any personal honor, you would find it unbearable to let the American people believe that somehow Republicans were to blame for this crisis.
There are precedents. Even though President Bush and his administration never said that Iraq sponsored or was linked to 9/11, you could not stand the fact that Americans had that misapprehension — so you pounded us with the fact that there was no such link. (Along the way, you created the false impression that Bush had lied to them and said that there was a connection.)
If you had any principles, then surely right now, when the American people are set to blame President Bush and John McCain for a crisis they tried to prevent, and are actually shifting to approve of Barack Obama because of a crisis he helped cause, you would be laboring at least as hard to correct that false impression.
Your job, as journalists, is to tell the truth. That’s what you claim you do, when you accept people’s money to buy or subscribe to your paper.
But right now, you are consenting to or actively promoting a big fat lie — that the housing crisis should somehow be blamed on Bush, McCain and the Republicans. You have trained the American people to blame everything bad — even bad weather — on Bush, and they are responding as you have taught them to.
If you had any personal honor, each reporter and editor would be insisting on telling the truth — even if it hurts the election chances of your favorite candidate.
Because that’s what honorable people do. Honest people tell the truth even when they don’t like the probable consequences. That’s what honesty means. That’s how trust is earned.
Barack Obama is just another politician, and not a very wise one. He has revealed his ignorance and naivete time after time — and you have swept it under the rug, treated it as nothing.
Meanwhile, you have participated in the borking of Sarah Palin, reporting savage attacks on her for the pregnancy of her unmarried daughter — while you ignored the story of John Edwards’ own adultery for many months.
So I ask you now: Do you have any standards at all? Do you even know what honesty means?
Is getting people to vote for Barack Obama so important that you will throw away everything that journalism is supposed to stand for?
You might want to remember the way the National Organization of Women (NOW) threw away their integrity by supporting Bill Clinton despite his well-known pattern of sexual exploitation of powerless women. Who listens to NOW anymore? We know they stand for nothing; they have no principles.
That’s where you are right now.
It’s not too late. You know that if the situation were reversed, and the truth would damage McCain and help Obama, you would be moving heaven and earth to get the true story out there.
If you want to redeem your honor, you will swallow hard and make a list of all the stories you would print if it were McCain who had been getting money from Fannie Mae, McCain whose campaign had consulted with its discredited former CEO, McCain who had voted against tightening its lending practices.
Then you will print them, even though every one of those true stories will point the finger of blame at the reckless Democratic Party, which put our nation’s prosperity at risk so they could feel good about helping the poor, and lay a fair share of the blame at Obama’s door.
You will also tell the truth about John McCain: that he tried, as a senator, to do what it took to prevent this crisis. You will tell the truth about President Bush: that his administration tried more than once to get Congress to regulate lending in a responsible way.
This was a Congress-caused crisis, beginning during the Clinton administration, with Democrats leading the way into the crisis and blocking every effort to get out of it in a timely fashion.
If you at our local daily newspaper continue to let Americans believe — and vote as if — President Bush and the Republicans caused the crisis, then you are joining in that lie.
If you do not tell the truth about the Democrats — including Barack Obama — and do so with the same energy you would use if the miscreants were Republicans — then you are not journalists by any standard.
You’re just the public relations machine of the Democratic Party, and it’s time you were all fired and real journalists brought in, so that we can actually have a daily newspaper in our city.

They probably didn’t report the AP poll that has the race at 1% because it is most likely an outlier. Don’t get too excited. Now go look up the word “outlier.”

I think this election will be close.
Dems have not got 50% of the vote since Carter and Obama is even left to Carter.
It is difficult for a very Liberal candidate to get that much votes even though the media is behind him.
Bottomline is Obama has not made himself appealing to vast number of voters and they dont trust him or his background.

Here’s what will happenon election day:
–none of the convicted black felons who are currently so vocal in their support of Obama will be allowed to vote.
–The Bradley Factor will show itself.
–The Why-bother-Voting syndrome will kick in for the Democrats, resulting in far lower than expected turnout.
–The Youth vote will collapse; they just won’t get out of bed to vote in enough numbes to affect anything.
–McCain’s underdog status is encroaching day by day on the Democratic effort. If the polls are close or tied now, by November 4th, McCain will have overtaken any current Democratic lead.
–The conservative, mature, job-holding, God-fearing citizens of this country will do their patriotic duty and simply turn out to vote.

Yes! Polls do lie, especially those paid for by the major news media. They have distorted every aspect of this election in Obama’s favor with either outright lies or huge omissions of fact. However,
they don’t realize that they are NOT IN CONTROL! God says Righteousness exalts a nation. Obama is anything BUT that and therefore is not qualified for the office. Being black I honestly admit I would like to see a black man in the white house, but not just ANY black man. Obama with his sordid southside Chicago allies can only destroy this nation. God will not allow that to happen.
Therefore McCain will WIN!!!!!!!!!!

The polls are mostly despicable tools misused by a whore-like media that commits group-think tactics against a public that is too busy or lazy to research and think for themselves. I am an Indigo Child. Somehow I will help expose the bastards (Newsmedia at Channels 2, 4, 7, CNN and CNBC).

I’ll try again. Some polls are more reliable than others, obviously. The troubling aspect of the polls, according to reports, is the very small sampling pool. Also troubling is the reported weighting of polls to increase Democrat results because of the high Democrat registration figures this election cycle. I fear that if the ACORN mass registrations (many now found to be fraudulent) fail to result in bolstered turnout for the Democrats, many will cry foul. Inflated poll figures undermine faith in the US voting system. Check out the new grey hair in ABC’s Obama video about Joe Biden’s Seattle remarks about the international incident coming if we vote for Obama. Notice also Sam Nunn in the background. Why no mention Misters Moran and Bashir? Seriously. Didn’t you notice?

What most polls are not counting is that there are more than six million Americans living abroad and that most of the energy is coming from the Democrats Abroad organization! So, my daughter and I just sent our 2 Obama/Biden votes as I am sure thousands others have already. So even if they end up being tied in the mainland, which I would find incomprehensible, all the votes coming from abroad will definitely give the Democratic ticket the edge!ABC should start polling abroad ;-) you can do that by just posting a poll on your website.. Another thought: what most people abroad do not understand is how come Americans support someone who bases his campaign on his prisoner years and shifting politics( plus ignorant VP candidate) when they can overwhelmingly support someone who is showing true leadership and running one of the best and longest campaigns in American history based on issues?

While I wouldn’t put all of my confidence in polls, they do give some indication as to which way the election is heading obviously. However, I feel that there is a lot more excitement about this election than the last two and people are really in need of change. Therefore, there might be more to the polls than meets the eye…although I think the race is closer than what is stated above.
I’ve researched both candidates and all of the political crap(including crazy conspiracy theories-thank you rabid right) should be taken in stride. Fact checking is your friend!

Maybe just your reporter are the stupid ones. ABC you use to be known for your honest reporting what happened?? McCain/Palin will win. Your polls and ABC are lying to the American public.

“Do the polls lie?” I don’t know… let’s put it to the test.
Try taking a poll that asks;
“Do you think the news media has been unfair & biased against McCain & Palin during this presidential campaign?”
If the answer doesn’t reveal an overwhelming “Yes!”, then I would say your polls lie.

I love the persona that Sen. Obama projects, but I feel he has been groomed and coached to achieve that effect. I fear he’s an empty suit.
But I think we will be damned whether Sen. Obama wins or loses. If he loses, I think many blacks will feel cheated and despair. If he wins, I think the borders will be opened to millions more from the south, and the lower income blacks will lose far more.
I think the polls should be disbanded because I think they lie and can be slanted by ‘higher powers.’ If people don’t trust their own research and logic then they should find someone they know personally, admire, trust and follow their lead. I must have dozens of people who ask me every time who and what I’m voting for and why.

Count the votes on this informal poll so far and out of 69, Sen. O got 19 and Sen.McC got 50. Hmm, that seems to be 27% to 73% in favor of Senator McCain. Now those figures I can believe.

In recent election, 2000, 2004 most of the polls are quite accurate. especially near the election day.
In Truman’s unexpected result:
1)they make telephone survey. But at that time much of Low income family were democrats and they didn’t have telephone at home. So they were excluded.
2)last 2 weeks, Truman made a vigorous campaign with Bus tour….And which campaign is doing more vigorously now, which campaign has more strong ground operation?—- Obama
The conclusion is at that time, the sampling was not right, and Truman made a strong finish line.
Posted by: zen | October 23, 2008, 4:55 am 4:55 am
Even Obama is behind maccain in the poll, he will win simply because his ground game is far stronger than Maccain.
We are using all techniques and man power.
So, if obama has a slim lead, that will be Obama Landslide.

And Obama has great ground game. He has strong human power…. and stronger enthusiasm….
Already early voting shows this.

Do poll lies? NO but the method of sampling and the intention behind the method of sampling designed to sway voters to certain direction. Then that’s where the LIE is. AP’s poll shows a dead-heat while ABC’s shows OBAMA +9. Even with the margin of eror +/- 3%, it doesn’t add up to any sense. It would not be surprised by next ten days, ABC’s poll will show a significant shrinkage to +/- 3 point spread.

the RNC has had to back off McCains
over the top accusations of ACORN…why?
Dozens of newly minted Republican voters say they were duped into joining the party by YMP a GOP contractor with a trail of fraud complaints stretching across the country.
Voters contacted by The Times said they were tricked into switching parties while signing what they believed were petitions for tougher penalties against child molesters. Some said they were told that they had to become Republicans to sign the petition, contrary to California initiative law. Others had no idea their registration was being changed.

In the Dems have had an INCREASE of 1.3 MILLION voters since the last election.
Republicans have seen a REDUCTION of 630,000.
National polls are useless. Electoral votes are the only thing that matters. (A Dem in Utah’s vote is useless with regards to who actually becomes President. So is a Pub in California. It’s a winner take all system.)
There are only 11 states that will dertermine the outcome of the election.
Obama is polling better than McCain in almost all of them. And just by the numbers, there are more Dems than Republicans.
All Dems need is for people to make it to the polls and it’s President Obama.

Supreme Court: John McCain wants justices who’ll interpret the Founders’ intent. Barack Obama wants justices who’ll feel your pain and render social justice. Imagine two or three more Ruth Bader Ginsburgs.
——————————————————————————–
IBD Series: Obama vs. McCain — The Great Divide
——————————————————————————–
Presidents come and go. Even our worst ex-president, Jimmy Carter, lasted only one term, so the damage he could do, while grievous, was finite. People could act on their buyer’s remorse at the next election.
Supreme Court justices are a different story. They are appointed for life, and the damage they can do to our nation is infinite and usually irreversible. Who appoints them matters.
The Constitution, it has been said, is a document written by geniuses to design a government that can be run by idiots. It defines and limits that government’s powers and obligations, and lists rights designed to protect individuals from government excesses. It has been under assault from those who would change the Constitution from a document carved in stone into an Etch-a-Sketch.
Obama is one of those believers in a “living Constitution.” Speaking in July 2007 at a Planned Parenthood conference in Washington, D.C., he said: “We need somebody who’s got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that’s the criteria by which I’m going to be selecting my judges.”
By those criteria, we should not be surprised to see Oprah Winfrey on his short list of future justices. McCain has a different view of both the Constitution and the Supreme Court, one based on the law and not emotion or good intentions.
“My nominees will understand that there are clear limits to the scope of judicial power, and clear limits to the scope of federal power,” McCain has said, citing Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Samuel Alito as the type of justices he would appoint. Barack Obama was one of only 22 senators to oppose Roberts. McCain, by contrast, supported Ronald Reagan’s failed nomination of Robert Bork.
Obama not only voted against Roberts and Alito, he also voted against the appointment of Janice Rogers Brown and Priscilla Owen to federal appeals court posts. The appeals court is the farm system for Supreme Court justices. Clarence Thomas sat for a year on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the nation’s second-most-prominent court.
“I would not have nominated Clarence Thomas. I don’t think that he was an exp — a strong enough jurist or legal thinker at the time for that elevation,” Obama said, catching himself before the ‘e’ word — experience — fell from his teleprompter-trained lips. Even Obama knows that Thomas is eminently more qualified to sit on the Supreme Court than Obama is to sit in the Oval Office.
Legal scholar Obama also said of Thomas, “I profoundly disagree with his interpretations of a lot of the Constitution.” One of those interpretations relates to gun control. In the 5-4 Heller decision, Thomas was in the majority in deciding the 2nd Amendment’s “right to bear arms” was an individual right and the District of Columbia’s gun ban was unconstitutional. Obama thought otherwise.
The type of justices Obama would appoint, like Ginsburg, recently decided in a 5-4 decision that capital punishment for child rapists was unconstitutional. Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote that the decision was based on “the evolving standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society.”
By another 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court decided that Guantanamo detainees had a right to take their cases for release to federal courts. Obama has campaigned on a promise that “I will restore habeas corpus for detainees.” McCain called the ruling “one of the worst decisions in history,” one that “opens up a whole new chapter and interpretation of our Constitution.”
Justice Antonin Scalia, another judge whom Obama would not have appointed, recently slammed the view of a “living Constitution” endorsed by Obama. Some judges, he told an audience at the Woodrow Wilson Center, were more concerned with promoting their “personal policy preferences” than interpreting the law.
“When we are in that mode,” he said, “you realize we have rendered the Constitution useless.” That’s exactly what Barack Obama has in mind.

Anyone notice ABC’s News ratings ????
They are in the TANK, just like the News is in the TANK for OBAMA !!! I wonder if the morons at ABC can figure this out ??? If they would START, just for once, being FAIR to BOTH sides in the election, then maybe they would gain back some SMALL ammount of creditibility. NOPE, they would rather have thier rating plummet then tell the truth !!! Like the fact that ABC refused to cover the BIDEN STORY, that even Dan Rather said SHOULD HAVE BEEN FRONT PAGE AND TOP STORY and even Rather called the MSM in the TANK for OBAMA. And this is comming from a FAR LEFT DEMOCRATE DAN RATHER !!! Does ABC care ???

Apparently, according to the McCain campaign, “real Americans” only exist in small towns.
I’m sure the people of NY will love to hear that even though the twin towers fell in their city, their not really “real Americans”.
Polls are correct. Obama is winning and will win. We “unreal-Americans” are fed up with devisive politics and facist ideology that comes from the Republican party.
Freedom is for all citizens, not just for those who agree with your small minded view of the world. We have the same right to change our leadership, and contrary to popular belief, there’s more of us than there are right wing neo-cons.

TO: Real American for Obama,
Nice, I’m glad you have a flag, your candidate does NOT! Stands facing away from the flag, no hand over heart, campaign did away with the Pledge and the National Anthem the other day at THE MESSIAH’s (not my term for him, one that was given to Obama by Louis Farakhan months ago) rally in N.H.!
Facts are facts, the videos are up on Drudge, so you can not say I’m a liar! Unless you do not believe your own eyes!

HEY MARK,
Again you fail to acknowledge that your beloved FOX NEWS has Obama up by 9 POINTS.
Even the heavily biased GOP cheerleader can’t ignore who is going to be the next President.

Watch the exit polls. Exit polls are highly accurate and are used by international election-monitoring agencies to evaluate the legitimacy of elections. The 2004 US exit polls were wildly off. Will they be again?

To: Eyes Closed To The Truth, I mean Eyes Blinded By The Far Left Media, I mean Eyes Open,
Did you read the I.B.D. poll ??? It has been proven and cited as the MOST ACCURATE POLL over the last 6 Election cycles… Even the MSM talks about it as one of the best…
Look at it, DEAD EVEN, in margin of ERROR, and McCAIN GAINING ground…
So who has thier EYES OPEN ???
Posted by: Mark Garnett | October 23, 2008, 7:40 am 7:40 am
Mark,
That’s the same BS we all heard since February. The same rumors from an email that has now been linked to a Republican operative. And he recently admitted it.
So feel free to dwell in right wing propoganda all you want. There are more Dems than Republicans in this nation, and the majority will decide. You have two loser candidates and America will not elect them.
Posted by: Truth Hurts the GOP | October 23, 2008, 7:45 am 7:45 am
Once again good ol mark wants to keep the blinders on.
There is only one thing that matters. The electoral votes in 11 states. All others have already been decided.
Obama is kicking butt and McCain is scambling just to hold formally red states. It’s a lost cause.
Quote any poll you like. The Pubs were outmatched by a comminity organizer. How ironic is that? He will win because he was by far superior in organizing his campiagn.
Your self delusion is not healthy.

There may be more Dems in the country but not all Dems are fools and not all Dems have been drinking the Obama kool-aide!!!

No one polled ME here in OH. In fact, I like Sarah Palin so much, I changed my vote to McCain/Palin. The more liberal comments/polls I hear from ABC, CNN, etc., the more I want to vote for McCain. How insignificant to mention Sarah’s clothes…money well spent, I say. And Obama campaign spent 60 million on polls?!!! PLEASE,….GO MCCAIN/PALIN–YOU’RE WINNING !!!!
Posted by: Cherie | October 23, 2008, 1:13 pm 1:13 pm
Yes, yes, yes………they lie!!! If you want to show the Democrats are ahead, just go to any polling place that has a majority of registered Democrats, and low and behold……the Democrats are ahead. Same with Republicans. Does the press tell you what district they polled??? Give me a break.
Posted by: cecilia feger | October 23, 2008, 4:09 pm 4:09 pm
I doubt obama will win. The republicans have stolen both of the last two elections. Why would this one be any different? Simple lust for more above all else rules the game. And don’t forget the good old fashioned rovian fear tactics! Besides, they think they are better than every one else and would never consider letting a black man run the white house. Shame on you for believing their arrogance. Unless you make over 250,000 a year! Then screw the little people, right? We’re on to you.

I really can’t believe you are spouting about arrogance. Your “messiah” is so in to himself it tends to make a person sick. If you want to see a major example of arrogance just watch Obama the next time he is on t.v. which is always because he is really buying this election.

In a race this close, I’m not counting on the poles. Look what happened to JK against W.
But does anyone know what is up with this?- http://www.obamacrimes.com/
Is this even possible?

I wish you could see all of the McCain-Palin car stickers & signs all over North Florida!! I have seen literally hundreds in support of McCain & Palin & only ONE in support of Obama. So remember the polls tend to poll those who aren’t busy, hard-working on the job (spreading the wealth) citizens because we are AT WORK during the times these polls are being conducted. Look at history…the media & the polls ALWAYS slant toward the liberal democratic ticket but did NOT get it right… George W. Bush (Won twice) & Reagan won despite what the polls said…the conservative base will give this victory to McCain & Palin.
Posted by: Julie O. | October 24, 2008, 12:32 am 12:32 am
ACORN is a code-name for Obama.
LIBERTY AND JUSTICE is a code-name for McCain.
Polls are inaccurate due to the media bias, again the time and way they are conducted, and human error in that some pollsters will hang up on McCain supporters.
Posted by: I'm Not Crazy | October 28, 2008, 12:52 am 12:52 am
George, when will you become unbias? Why don’t you check out the Clinton supporters talking about the Obama supporters trying to intimidate them (Clinton supporters) from the VERY beginning. These bullies still are. http://www.newsmax.com/timmerman/obama_voter_fraud/2008/10/27/144303.html?s=al&promo_code=6E3F-1

The AOL Straw Poll has consistently shown McCain leading Obama by about two to one for three months. The media has never mentioned this poll. The poll starts over every week on Friday and has between 200,000 and 500,000 votes. In comparison, the Gallup pole consists of less than 3,000 “votes.” The poll requires an AOL I.D. and does not allow more than one vote per I.D. or IP address per week. It would be interesting to know if and how the sample population taking this poll differs from the general population. The current vote is 54,251 for McCain and 23,578 for Obama.

Thank you, Larry. You have proved my point. The liberal media is trying to have the McCain supporters to give up, but guess what! We don’t give up easily nor are we threatened by bullying!!!

I hope the polls are wrong. I can not even belive we have a candidate with that little experience. I sure wouldn’t follow him into battle. He talks a good game but I hope the american people can see through him or are some people that gullible. If elected he will just become a puppet for the Dem. party of those that got him there. I hope he realizes that. Just in case he does get elected I am already getting bumper stickers that say don’t blame me I didn’t vote for “that guy”and I think it won’t take long for people to regret it. Be careful what you wish for.As a registered Dem. this will be the first time in 30 years of voting that I will vote Republican.
Posted by: can see through him | October 29, 2008, 2:17 am 2:17 am
Can see through him, I agree. I think and feel that we will be sorry if he does get elected. I’m not a Democrat or Republican. I vote for values not the person. We have killed (murdered)millions of babies (abortions) yet we are upset over the war? Don’t get me wrong. I don’t like war, but the men and women chose that, but the babies didn’t get a choice.

Comment: Always bashing McCAin or Sarah Palin will ultimately force most of us to vote for McCain/Palin, media’s most despised candidates for august office. I am from africa but has anybody ever asked what Obama has done for arica or for that matter Kenya, the country’s capital has one of the biggest slum area where his step-brother lives who complained that Obama has done nothing for him or other kiths. Does Obama know african culture of extended family and helping brurus (relatives). Has anybody asked him what has he done for africans living in america, other than encouraging and being in league with persons of dubious characters like in ACORN and dealers who use public money (not a cent from their pocket) to advance their political and economic agenda of moeny and prestige flowing. Designers cloths and mansion next to dealer speaks for itself. Since he is one of us, let him propose and plan he has to empower us (persons from africa) and our other brotjers from mexico, india, latin america. Does he not know that most of persons of african origin live on doles (whether from govt or their girlfriends or stealing from others, like our nigerian friends do). Most of our ladies have children out of wedlockj and that too from many men. Did not Obama have the same background, father leaving behind a white wife, colored child? What he plans to do to ameliorate similar background masses? He is talking big, like Kibaki is doing in Kenya and Chiluba did in Zambia, and many more leaders do in africa (Zimbabwe, Gabon, Libya, Sudan…endless list), day and night, but their sole aim is to stay in power and enrich themselves and their surrogates and talk big….we have many politicians in africa who are better orator than Obama, but what did they do for africans—nada, nothing, ney, zero–just keeping their job and enriching themselves. Media, you stink. We need hardworking, focused leaders from person of african, asian, mixed origins, but they shall first prove their track record of “SERVICE” . Ifor humanity before getting too ambitious and winning election and throned to the coveted job of Presidency, We cannot afford a failure in white house. One failure will be taken as an experiment which disappointed the majority and minority alike and push the visible minority’s drive to participate and aspire to rise to any position/job in america by at least a century. Fellow brothers and sisters from africa, asia, latin america please, let us wait for another 4 or even 8 years and find a person with solid track record to make him the president of America than do an experiment to have backlash for our children. Obama’s failure will push us back, back and in oblivian or in limelight but negative….Bye for now. Vote wisely. Ron Paul is better alternative.

Anyone who has taken a statistics class and even those who flunked it would know that statistics can be skewed to whatever position you wish to favor or disfavor. All you need to win an election is a good statistician and a P.R man. Bayesian theory holds that if the facts aren’t in your favor then you pander or appeal to subjective beliefs in order to increase the probability of getting those who are not able to sort the wheat from the chaff to vote for you. Stupid people (those who lack the mental capabilities to grasp an issue)that can’t understand basic cause and effect are easy to identify as they are usually very angry because their thinking doesn’t match up to reality.

I’m an independent from New York City who is a moderate and voted for Obama along generational lines and not party lines but I will not be voting for him again nor will be voting for Sara Palin under any circumstance. I do not like the republican’s who are globalist corporate fascist who are bought and paid for by multinational monopolies. The Democrats also globalist transitional omni-socialist.
Both parties have been bought and paid for by the wealthy globalist of the world and both parties are attempting to destroy The U.S. constitution and U.S. sovereignty through unconstitutional treaties and laws. All these candidates are Manchurian candidates. And remember the popular vote actually doesn’t count folks. So what does it matter if you do vote and they only use your vote like a cheap little survey to post on TV. What ever happen to Ron Paul?
