Guantanamo: Over To You, Next President

Bush’s advisers held meetings this summer at which the decision to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay was discussed.  But despite President Bush’s stated wish that Guantanamo be closed — officials say that the administration has postponed the decision for the next president, since closing the prison in Cuba would involve too many political and legal risks.  Both Senator Obama and Mccain support closing the detention center, but may have their hands tied. The New York Times reports.
