NY Times: Is Obama Camp Properly Vetting All Its Donors?
The New York Times has done an analysis of Barack Obama’s donor lists. Here is an excerpt from their piece today: "An analysis of campaign finance records by The New York Times this week found nearly 3,000 donations to Mr. Obama, the Democratic nominee, from more than a dozen people with apparently fictitious donor information. The contributions represent a tiny fraction of the record $450 million Mr. Obama has raised. But the questionable donations — some donors were listed simply with gibberish for their names — raise concerns about whether the Obama campaign is adequately vetting its unprecedented flood of donors."

Ok, here we go again. The McCain campaign has surpressed the Palin report on her corruption and now they are claiming Obama is corrupt!!!

Take a look at John McCain’s donor list.

People are fools wanting to elect someone they don’t know, and what they do know is not good. That makes no sense. The truth about that man is beginning to bleed through.. he just couldn’t keep it all quiet long enough.

That’s a joke, the question should be has the Media vetted Obama???
Posted by: NielPA | October 10, 2008, 10:25 am 10:25 am
nielPA: you got that question right. It seems like they’re beginning to realize they didn’t as the facts begin to seep into the news. Shame on the media.

NeilPA
you obviously don’t get the link between AIP and Vogler, the Palins
and where most domestic terrorism comes from…
the name McVeigh mean anything to you…
as our country tumbles and Palin ignores the economy
don’t you recognize the “values” that are being shouted at ther rallies that she is inciting…
America should be puking at her rallies and her support of Vogler’s party.

mssmith…do we know Palin? I think not and the way McCain looks lately ahe could be the President.
Over the last two years this country has vetted and vetted and vetted Obama. If you don’t like him just say so. Don’t say you don’t know him.
As for Palin, everyday something else comes out. BTW, why arent; they releasing the investigation results?

Here’s the bigger question has the media properly vetted Obama!

Terrorist cells lead by McCain and Palin
NEWS FLASH
Since terrorism can be attibuted to someones name ie. Barack HUSSEIN Obama.
JOHN MCcain is a terrorist (MCvey MCcain)
John … you have some explaining to do.
Note: GOP realize how stupid that sounds. But that is some of the responses that came from the McCain supporters at their rallys when interviewed.
Posted by: Omentum | October 10, 2008, 10:34 am 10:34 am
I would be surprised if any candidate had no bogus donors.
I assume every candidate, including McCain has this problem. It’s a non-issue.

I agree, we should not elect someone we don’t know. We have had 4 years to get to know Obama. If you don’t know what he is about, it is your fault. The problem is that people want to use that as an excuse to NOT vote for him, because with McCain it’s hard to find anything that makes people WANT to vote for him. Otherwise, republicans wouldn’t spend all of their time tearing down Obama.
However, Palin we know nothing about her. People can’t even ask her question.
I find it rather interesting that the republicans are foolish enough to harp about Obama’s experience but are blind to Palin’s lack of experience.

and Palin raises moneys for the RNC by inciting a bunch of “McVeighs” with all the tactics from Joe Vogler and AIP…

The media hasn’t vetted Obama. They take whatever he says and believes it.

It’s funny that a story that questions Obama’s integerity and sincerity – the Obama followers try to respond by bringing up John McCain.
Posted by: Brian -CHICAGO | October 10, 2008, 10:40 am 10:40 am
Kathy…where have you been for the last two years? We all went through the Wright,Ayers stuff already. What do you want to hear?
I don’t get it? Just say it…
Or maybe stop wasting time and investigate why McCain isn’t explainin his reltionship with a person who was convicted of bombing an abortion clinic and shooting a docter.
Posted by: formerhillary | October 10, 2008, 10:41 am 10:41 am
Every since Obama resused public financing, the McCain camp have been trying to discredit his donors. Now they are trying to get the media behind them. Problem is, it won’t work. We are too late in the game and nothing will stop the landslide that is about to occur.
Posted by: wiliam | October 10, 2008, 10:42 am 10:42 am
Brian….that is because this whole country has vetted Obama over te last two years.
We all want to hear about the economy and what is going to happen to our homes and jobs.
No one seems to be vetting McCains terrorist ties or Palins corruption investogation, which isn’t being released.
Fair is fair. If you are claiming Obama committed a crime then let’s vet everyone!!
Posted by: thetruth | October 10, 2008, 10:43 am 10:43 am
Why are some of you comparing the Repub VP pick to the Dem Pres pick? Is that all you’ve got? That’s a common tactic in an argument… and it is called deflection of the issue at hand. How sad that is the only defense for Obama is, “look at Palin!” What are you people smoking? A new story on MSNBC talks about some secret meeting (not publicized so take that how you want to) where Obama was speaking to muslim faith groups where activists were present. What a fool he is. Or is he.
Obama is one scary dude. And he can denounce all he wants until he’s a 102. Actions speak much louder than words. And that fact has been around alot at least since Obama was 8 years old.
Posted by: mssmith | October 10, 2008, 10:45 am 10:45 am
Obama is still ahead in the poles even after another week of McCain ounding him about Ayers.
People are tired of this crap. They are loosing their life in the market.
Posted by: thegoodtimes | October 10, 2008, 10:45 am 10:45 am
Darn so y’all are saying we can’t discuss Wright or Ayers…ok then how about Farrakhan, preaching that Obama is the messiah…that work for you.
Posted by: samhiguchi | October 10, 2008, 10:48 am 10:48 am
msssmith…we are talking about Palin because McCain isn’t well and she could be our president…
We don’t know her and her connections to radical groups are just coming out.
We have a right to vet her also,
Posted by: formerhillary | October 10, 2008, 10:48 am 10:48 am
I’m glad Obama is only ahead in the poles. I guess that be north and south. Yeah, I’m confident that had Obama been in office these last 8 yrs that the stock market would be in much better shape. I’m sure he would have seen it coming and headed it off at the pass. He’s just an attorney and another politician who is trying to pass himself off as different. Wake up people!

This is exactly why Obama did not want public financing – remember Al Gore’s donators?

Palin was vetted plenty when she ran for governor of her state. She had a 90% popularity level. Don’t give me that crap, ‘we don’t know her either’. The reason you don’t know about her connections to radical groups is b/c she doesn’t have any – not nearly, nearly to the extent of Obama that’s for sure. Prove it. We can prove Obama’s ties. He thinks words will make it all go away for him.
Posted by: mssmith | October 10, 2008, 10:51 am 10:51 am
FYI McCains donor list lists everyone
for every amount. It also shows where he returned donations over the legal amoount. Learn how to read.
Also, the media cottles poor little OBAMA. And when he wants to seperate himself from his past ties, he seems to studder and stammer his way through and come out smelling like a rose. Be very careful AMERICA… every ROSE has THORNS!

mssmith…well McCain has been in the Senate for what….25-30 years. Has he changed anything? NO….did he fight to stop deregualtion…NO…the fault lies with everyone in the Congress not just Obama. He is a first term Senator…

That’s why I would never vote for a team with Palin on the ticket. NO ONE knows who she is at all.
She hides from the press and won’t answer questions.
Only one candidate has been hampering an investigation an dodging subpoeanas.
Barack has been around for years now. We know “who he is”….the next President of the United States!
Posted by: Truth Hurts the GOP | October 10, 2008, 10:55 am 10:55 am
oh sure, Obama was vetted for the last 4 years. That is a joke. The media was busy propping up their golden boy during that time, so the facts about his connections caught a little blip in the news here and there. That’s not vetting, or being honest with the public. You know what you didnt’ hear. You also know that if there was any good ‘dirt’ like that about Palin or McCain it would headline news. That should tell you something. Reality check needed here.

Not surpising
Mr Obama too 250,000 dropped it into his favorite Charities instead of giving it to Authorities.
He received Donations from foreigners.
He does not document donations properly
He has foreigners donate time, making phones calls and other things.
It should be investigated.

I would like to know why everyone is so afraid of Palin. And please don’t bring up that it is b/c she wanted an ex-brother in law out of his job as a police officer b/c he tasered his 10 yr old stepson. That makes her a hero not a criminal.
Posted by: mssmith | October 10, 2008, 10:59 am 10:59 am

=======================
Sure, some guy, in this case Farrakhan, says Obama is the messiah. Ok, we talked about it. So what? Does he not have the right to say what he thinks? Oh sh%%, you’re a Republican, I forgot most of you guys don’t beleive in free speech. My bad.
Why do I even bother….
It’s PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA
Get used to it!

If you want to go a step farther, McCain actually stalled regulators on behalf of Charles Keating.
By doing so caused over $3 billion in American’s retirement and life savings to be swindled.
McCain aided a convicted felon. That’s not “guilt by association”. That’s participation!

the democrats can -
*raise the dead
*multiply one name into twenty times /
one real person X 20ballots = 20 votes
*send donations with fake names
*round up people on the streets – give
them a sandwich – then say to them:
“You’re for Obama; we’re for Obama.”
{then drop the homeless off where they
found them)
*put a cat’s name on a ballot (it happened.)
Who hi-jacked the good democratic party?
I was a democrat for a long time.
There’s good and bad on both sides.
It’s been my understanding that democrats are saying that they are really doing God’s work.
That’s great, except the above tactics
would not be approved.
It’s my hope that we can all come up
with a better way to register all
people.

One of the angry members of the audience in Wakesha, WI (not sure of the speclling) commented that “we are the product of our associations.” That depends on how strong those associations were—. It is also true that we can have a relationship with people we don’t agree with. I have a number of friends for whom I have much respect and they respect me—-do we agree with each other on all issues—-no. I happen to be conservative on some issues and liberal on others. At this point I believe Obama has the steadier hand on the issues. McCain and Palin have said or done nothing to change my mind.

Giving false information is relatively easy to do. When there are thousands upon thousands of pieces of information coming in it is not an easy task to vet them all. If thoroughly investigated there are fake names on both sides to be found.
There are people who post on these blogs using fake identities. Anyone can pick up a voter registration card and fill it out with whatever information he/she wants and mail it in.
The fakes will be found out no matter who gets them to fill out the form.
You can use the information to create distrust in one candidate or the other OR you accept that this sort of thing goes on, urge the candidates and committees to be more vigilant, and then go on to discuss the real issues without rancor and name calling. Your choice.

Anyone can pick up a voter registration
and give false information (mailed or
otherwise.)
True. But these poor people are given cigarettes, etc. to vote for a specific
person – ACORN’s choice – Obama.
IT’S VOTER FRAUD ON A
GRAND SCALE. These poor people are being
bought then unceremoniously dropped off
where they are found.
On Election Day – no one can go up to you and try to influence you one way
or another. THAT IS A FEDERAL LAW.
The Democrats are now breaking that
law on a Grand Scale.
What is Sen. Obama’s position on this?
(I haven’t heard it yet; please tell me
if you heard anything yet.) I know you
will.
Tell me, what should the law do now?
Keep it on file? Purge them?
It’s very tricky and a very sticky
situation – no matter who you are
voting for.
It, however, needs to be examined and
not swept under the rug.
Lets move forward and find a solution
to this problem for now and for future
elections.
