Todd Palin was a member of this party, and Sarah Palin attended at least two of their conventions and — whoops! — spoke to their convention as recently as this past Summer. The founder of the party, the late Joe Voegler, once condemned the American flag. Where are the questions about whether Palin loves the American flag?
What about Sarah Palin’s association with the witch doctor, Pastor Muthee, who blessed Palin at her church and prayed for her “finances”? Does Sarah Palin believe in witches? Does Sarah Palin support witch hunts? Does she know who Cotton Mather was?

ACORN has been under investigation since 2006 for voter fraud for registering dead people, ficticious people, underage people. There are currently 9 investigations going on on the issue for improper and fraudulent registrations for this election year alone. Since Obama contributed $800,000 of his campaign funds to the group, he really needs to become more honest on the relationship. The mainstream media thought that the membership of Todd Palin, who is not a
candidate for any office, in the Alaska Independence Party important enough
to report in such outlets as the Los Angeles Times, MSNBC, and the New York
Times, among others. So now that Barack Obama’s membership in the far left
New Party has been unearthed, will they report his membership in that
Socialist organization?
Proof of Obama’s membership in the New Party was discovered by the
Politically Drunk On Power blog:
In June sources released information that during his campaign for the State
Senate in Illinois, Barack Obama was endorsed by an organization known as
the Chicago “New Party”. The ‘New Party’ was a political party established
by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the
socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local
level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards. The admittedly Socialist
Organization experienced a moderate rise in numbers between 1995 and 1999.
By 1999, however, the Socialist ‘New Party’ was essentially defunct after
losing a supreme court challenge that ruled the organizations “fusion”
reform platform as unconstitutional.
After allegations surfaced in early summer over the ‘New Party’s’
endorsement of Obama, the Obama campaign along with the remnants of the New
Party and Democratic Socialists of America claimed that Obama was never a
member of either organization. The DSA and ‘New Party’ then systematically
attempted to cover up any ties between Obama and the Socialist
Organizations. However, it now appears that Barack Obama was indeed a
certified and acknowledged member of the DSA’s New Party.
On Tuesday, I discovered a web page that had been scrubbed from the New
Party’s website. The web page which was published in October 1996, was an
internet newsletter update on that years congressional races. Although the
web page was deleted from the New Party’s website, the non-profit Internet
Archive Organization had archived the page.
From the October 1996 Update of the DSA ‘New Party’:
“New Party members are busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs,
and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall. Here are some of our
key races…
Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off
against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House),
Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).”
You can find the above quote from the scubbed New Party web page at this
Internet Archive Organization link. More confirmation of Obama’s membership
in the New Party can be found at an article in the November 1996 Progressive
Populist magazine:
New Party members and supported candidates won 16 of 23 races, including an
at-large race for the Little Rock, Ark., City Council, a seat on the county
board for Little Rock and the school board for Prince George’s County, Md.
Chicago is sending the first New Party member to Congress, as Danny Davis,
who ran as a Democrat, won an overwhelming 85% victory. New Party member
Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago.
The Democratic Socialist Party of America also reported on Obama’s New Party
membership in its July/August 1996 edition:
The Chicago New Party is increasely becoming a viable political organization
that can make a different in Chicago politics. It is crucial for a political
organization to have a solid infrastructure and visible results in its
political program. The New Party has continued to solidify this base.
First, in relation to its infrastructure, the NP’s membership has increased
since January ’95 from 225 to 440. National membership has increased from
5700 in December ’95 to 7000. Currently the NP’s fiscal balance is $7,000
and receives an average of $450/month is sustainer donations.
Secondly, the NP’s ’96 Political Program has been enormously successful with
3 of 4 endorsed candidates winning electoral primaries. All four candidates
attended the NP membership meeting on April 11th to express their gratitude.
Danny Davis, winner in the 7th Congressional District, invited NPers to join
his Campaign Steering Committee. Patricia Martin, who won the race for Judge
in 7th Subcircuit Court, explained that due to the NP she was able to
network and get experienced advice from progressives like Davis. Barack
Obama, victor in the 13th State Senate District, encouraged NPers to join in
his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration. The lone loser
was Willie Delgado, in the 3rd Illinois House District. Although Delgado
received 45% of the vote, he lost by only 800 votes. Delgado commented that
it was due to the NP volunteers that he carried the 32nd Ward. Delgado
emphasized that he will remain a visible community activist in Humbolt Park.
He will conduct four Immigration workshops and encouraged NP activists to
get involved.
Kudos to Politically Drunk On Power for digging up this information about
Obama’s membership in the socialist New Party. The question now is if the
MSM will deem his party membership important enough to report on. They sure
didn’t hesitate to report on Todd Palin’s membership in the Alaska
Independence Party.
UPDATE: Yet more proof of Obama’s close involvement in the socialist New
Party from NewsBusters’ Hermano who provided this link to the Chicago
Democratic Socialists of American September-October 1995 New Ground 42
edition:
About 50 activists attended the Chicago New Party membership meeting in
July. The purpose of the meeting was to update members on local activities
and to hear appeals for NP support from four potential political candidates.
The NP is being very active in organization building and politics. There are
300 members in Chicago. In order to build an organizational and financial
base the NP is sponsoring house parties. Locally it has been successful both
fiscally and in building a grassroots base. Nationwide it has resulted in
1000 people committed to monthly contributions. The NP’s political strategy
is to support progressive candidates in elections only if they have a
concrete chance to “win”. This has resulted in a winning ratio of 77 of 110
elections. Candidates must be approved via a NP political committee. Once
approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates
that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP.
The political entourage included Alderman Michael Chandler, William Delgado,
chief of staff for State Rep Miguel del Valle, and spokespersons for State
Sen. Alice Palmer, Sonya Sanchez, chief of staff for State Sen. Jesse
Garcia, who is running for State Rep in Garcia’s District; and Barack Obama,
chief of staff for State Sen. Alice Palmer. Obama is running for Palmer’s
vacant seat.

ACORN Statement Regarding Las Vegas Voter Registration
October 08, 2008
Over the past year, ACORN has worked hard to help over 80,000 people in Clark County register to vote.
Hundreds of canvassers and volunteers have worked for months talking to citizens from Nevada’s most disenfranchised communities and encouraging them to exercise their right to participate in our democracy. Their work has been tireless—they deserve a great deal of credit for spending days in the hot sun at public places from parks to community centers to shopping centers helping citizens complete voter registration applications. Most of the 80,000 registrations they have collected and turned in to election officials come from young people, low income people and minorities—the very people whose voices are too often left out of our electorate.
As part of our nonpartisan voter registration program, ACORN staff reviews every single application submitted by our canvassers. Special, dedicated staff makes up to three phone calls attempting to reach the voter listed on EVERY SINGLE CARD before they are turned in to verify the information. Our callers verify the information on the cards before turning them in to election officials to make sure that as many new voters as possible get on the rolls and to make sure that all of our voter registration workers are doing the high quality work they are trained to do.
While the vast majority of our voter registration canvassers do a great job, there have been several times over the past ten months that our Las Vegas Quality Control program has identified a canvasser who appears to have knowingly submitted a fake or duplicate application in order to pad his or her hours.
Anytime ACORN quality control staff has identified a suspicious application, we have separated that application out and flagged it for election officials. We turn any suspicious applications to election officials separately, along with a cover sheet identifying the nature of the problem and an offer to provide election officials with the information they would need to pursue an investigation or prosecution of the individual. (Note that civic organizations are required by law to turn over ANY signed voter registration applications even when they are known to have problems). We immediately dismiss any employees we suspect of submitting fraudulent registrations.
It was surprising that law enforcement officials appeared suddenly at our Las Vegas offices Tuesday, because ACORN and its attorneys have already been proactive in providing information about problematic cards and any employee suspected of misconduct. In July, ACORN staff and our attorney set up a meeting with Clark County elections officials and a representative of the Secretary of State’s office to urge them to take action on information ACORN had provided. Since then, and as recently as September 29^th , ACORN has provided officials with copies and—in some cases—second copies of many of the personnel records and the “problem card packages” and cover sheets with which we originally identified the problem cards.
ACORN is a community organization dedicated to making everyone’s voice count in the vital public policy debates in our country. Helping citizens become active voters is a crucial part of our work to help build a fairer and more inclusive democracy. We will continue with this important work by encouraging every eligible voter to the polls this November.

Buying air time before the election. I cannot remember an election year when the last few days were NOT filled with an enormous amount of political ads. And I have witness more than 4 decades.

Not sure how Obama even qualifies as the better candidate. He is mostly a personality rather than a political figure. Based on what track record would I consider him the better candidate? I truly find it laughable since Obama uses the word middle class once in his debate, or the word education once, and he is propped up as being a defender of education or the middle class – without having an details or specifics about how he will improve on these issues. Then McCain uses the a term “that one” in a debate and he is labelled a racist. What a joke? Honestly how are the Democrats really going to save the economy? Not that I believe McCain has given enough specifics either.. but so far all I hear is rhetoric. The only thing I hear from the Obama attacks that McCain is just like Bush. He is relying on the distaste for George W Bushes leadership to win this election. Considering the Republicans reluctantly chose McCain because he didn’t fall into line with the Bush policies consistently, I find that ironic. Maybe Obama should start his own weekly TV reality series since he feels it is necessary to give America a half hour prime time show. We could call it “Tall Tales with Barack Obama”, he could use the same 300 foreign policy experts he uses to draft a tale each week where he will save the world from disaster or economic collapse.

These are dismal times when someone with no track record or experience is leading in the polls. Granted that McCain has been a Republican like Bush and in politics for some time… and he is not my favorite person. Barack Obama is again facing questions about his patriotism from some conservative blogs — this time for apparently failing to put his hand over his heart during a rendition of the national anthem at an Iowa campaign event.
A video of the event in question, obtained by ABC News, shows Obama with his hands firmly clasped in front of him during the song. Meanwhile, rival Democratic candidates Gov. Bill Richardson (D-AZ) and Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) strike a traditional anthem pose beside him, holding their right hands over their hearts.
The conservative NewsBusters media watchdog group first reported on the story, linking to a Time Magazine photo of Obama at the event. “Does [Obama] perhaps believe that, like wearing the flag pin, the hand on the heart isn’t “true patriotism?” asked the site’s Mark Finkelstein.
The episode took place during a Sept. 16 steak fry hosted by Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) in Indianola, Iowa.

OK, for all of you who think that Obama is a terrorist due to his association with William Ayers there are more terrorists out there to be outed! Obama and Ayers were on the same board for a not-for-profit educational board and because of this association Obama is, obviously, a terrorist. Guilt by association works both ways. By the way, how many degrees of separation does one need before they are no longer a terrorist? Once we answer this question, answer this: When will the ghost of McCarthy come back and put you into prison or get you on to a blacklist so you can’t get a job because you are associated with a terrorist?

Served on Annenberg org board, who supports McCain – does that make both of them (McCain & Annenberg) terrorists/guilty by association? A local reporter (let me guess if you’re McCain/Palin campaign/supporter – “biased,liberal,left-wing media, etc..”) stated that you couldn’t be involved in local education issues and not have contact with Ayers. Also, many “liberals” didn’t like him due to his strident positions.

In fact, he can’t make a decision; he just goes with the flow after asking dozens of advisors. He is charmismatic, I will give him that but charisma isn’t what we need. Some of you mentioned that McCain’s heroism doesn’t qualify him for the White House…well,okay then…neither does being a charismatic celebrity. Obama would be a great film star. He loves the spotlight. He’s an eloquent speaker. I’ve heard that John McCain is not. Hmmm…someone who’s become good at smoothly eloquent speaking probably has learned to make words work for him and twist them when necessary and people won’t even notice.
3. I’ve noticed that some are comparing Palin’s lack of experience and background to Obama. How come they are not doing the same comparison on McCain and Obama? Why is Joe Biden not the one that is being compared to her? At least, I have not seen much to that;maybe someone can fill me in on somewhere I could see this.
4. It seems Palin has so many sins in her life and McCain, too. Then,I guess the Democrats are without sin. They are presenting themselves as perfect. Too bad the voters are not nearly as perfect as Obama. In the Bible, there was a story about an adulteress that was getting ready to be stoned to death. Jesus told them “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” The Dems have done a great job of casting the stones and hitting Palin.

Let’s do real journalistic reporting…report the facts, Jack on both sides, both negative and positive and let the readers decide. I would absolutely LOVE to see an article in a mag that compares Obama to McCain and in the same mag Palin to Biden, side by side on issues, skeletons in the closets, biographies, awards and honors….maybe in the form of resumes so the American public could compare and then at the polls hire the ticket they think would be the best for the job.
6. Finally, and then, I’m through. I understand it may be good to understand the candidates’ views based on their faith but it is a little undeserving to undermine one for “praying” that God’s will be done. Our country was founded on a faith in the One True God, The Creator and our laws and values were built upon the Christian faith, but now, it’s not politically correct to be a Christian,no one must renounce their deep beliefs in order to please everyone. I couldn’t see one bit of hatred in the video that has been circulating where she spoke at her church in Alaska. Praying for someone does not cause hatred or racism or sexism. Their beliefs in their faith did not say they hated gays,only that they would be praying for them. And, in the privacy of a church building, they may do whatever (within the law) that they believe. Now that Obama has disowned his pastor, no one has mentioned anymore about how that church shaped his views. They are afraid to because of the venomous rhetoric that came from the pastor’s mouth. Does anyone know what Biden believes;have they gone to a church he attends or does he attend one? What about McCain? What are his religious values? So, then, why does that play into the equation with Palin? I could understand if she were part of an anti-government,hate religion. The most she could be convicted of in her faith is saying that she believes in praying to God, asking His will for the country. Go back in history to other presidents; many were men who prayed or sought God’s will. At least, the great ones did.
Thank you, both Republicans and Democrats for letting me air my feelings. How, sometimes I wish we didn’t have parties. I can’t stand the division and hatred that ensues. Especially when we say “United we stand, Divided we fall.” Let’s just let each other vote our consciences or faith or whatever standard and quit yelling at each other. CROWN POINT, Indiana (CNN) Thursday — More than 2,000 voter registration forms filed in northern Indiana’s Lake County by a liberal activist group this week have turned out to be bogus, election officials said Thursday.
An official enters the Las Vegas, Nevada, ACORN office, which is under investigation for alleged voter fraud.
The group — the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN — already faces allegations of filing fraudulent voter registrations in Nevada and faces investigations in other states.
And in Lake County, home to the long-depressed steel town of Gary, the bipartisan Elections Board has stopped processing a stack of about 5,000 applications delivered just before the October 6 registration deadline after the first 2,100 turned out to be phony.
“All the signatures looked exactly the same,” Ruthann Hoagland, a Republican on the board. “Everything on the card filled out looks exactly the same.”
The forms included registrations submitted in the names of the dead — and in one case, the name of a fast-food restaurant, Jimmy Johns. Sally LaSota, a Democrat on the board, called the forms fraudulent and said whoever filed them broke the law.
“ACORN, with its intent, perhaps was good in the beginning, but went awry somewhere,” LaSota said.
Over the past four years, a dozen states have investigated complaints of fraudulent registrations filed by ACORN. On Tuesday, Nevada authorities raided an ACORN office in Las Vegas, Nevada, where workers are accused of registering members of the Dallas Cowboys football team.
A subsidiary of the group was paid $800,000 by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s campaign to register voters for the 2008 primaries, and ACORN’s political wing endorsed Obama back in February. But Obama’s campaign told CNN that it “is committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process,” and said it has not worked with ACORN during the general election.
Brian Mellor, an ACORN attorney in Boston, said the group has its own quality-control process and has fired workers in the past — including workers in Gary. But he said allegations that his organization committed fraud is a government attempt to keep people disenfranchised.
“We believe their purpose is to attack ACORN and suppress votes,” Mellor said. “We believe that by attacking ACORN, they are going to discourage people that have registered to vote with ACORN from voting.”
CNN was unable to reach ACORN officials in Gary and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where the group’s Indiana operation is based. Offices in both cities were empty when reporters visited.
Lake County elections officials have set aside all 5,000 of the ACORN-submitted applications in what Hoagland called the “fake pile” for later review. But she said every one will be reviewed before the election to make sure no legitimate voters are skipped.
There has been no evidence of voter fraud yet, because voters have yet to go to the polls. But elections officials say they will be sending their information to prosecutors, who will determine whether any investigation will begin.
“We have no idea what the motive behind it is,” she said. “It’s just overwhelming to us.”

The Obama cloak of silence is falling apart. The past is very similar for Obama and Bush. Drinking/Drugs at an early age, both had a dismal record in politics, both promised a rose garden, both will bring everyone together, both lacked experience and knowledge, both received support from big names and the catch word for Obama is “change” and for Bush it was a “change and uniter” not a divider.
One “W” in our lifetime is enough, Obama is now in the limelight because of his 15 to 20 year association with Resko, the huge donations to Obama, the house Resko bought and sold to Obama because he couldn’t afford a 1.6 million dollar home. This was a nice gift to Obama, $300,000 under price. He only returned part of the donations he received from Resko, why? After all his “change” speeches we find out he is it, up to his eyeballs!
Now, the truth is coming out about his terrorist friends Ayres and Dohrn. The terrorists were supporters and friends of Obama – why? It is a rare sight to see Obama in the Senate doing his job and voting. His record in the Illinois legislature was very dismal, as he was “present”, but would not vote and take a stand on the tough issues. Obama’s “CHANGE” seems to have been misplaced along the way, somewhere between the “talking and the doing”.

That is a lie. Obama’s relationship with ACORN has been well documented as early as 2003 in the LA Times.
Madeleine Talbot, who at the time was a leader at Chicago Acorn. Talbot, we learn, was so impressed by Obama’s organizing skills that she invited him to help train her own staff.
And what exactly was Talbot’s work with Acorn? Talbot turns out to have been a key leader of that attempt by Acorn to storm the Chicago City Council (during a living-wage debate). While Sol Stern mentions this story in passing, the details are worth a look: On July 31, 1997, six people were arrested as 200 Acorn protesters tried to storm the Chicago City Council session. According to the Chicago Daily Herald, Acorn demonstrators pushed over the metal detector and table used to screen visitors, backed police against the doors to the council chamber, and blocked late-arriving aldermen and city staff from entering the session.
Reading the Herald article, you might think Acorn’s demonstrators had simply lost patience after being denied entry to the gallery at a packed meeting. Yet the full story points in a different direction. This was not an overreaction by frustrated followers who couldn’t get into a meeting (there were plenty of protestors already in the gallery), but almost certainly a deliberate bit of what radicals call “direct action,” orchestrated by Acorn’s Madeleine Talbot. As Talbot was led away handcuffed, charged with mob action and disorderly conduct, she explicitly justified her actions in storming the meeting. This was the woman who first drew Obama into his alliance with Acorn, and whose staff Obama helped train.
While most press accounts imply that Obama just happened to be at the sort of public-interest law firm that would take Acorn’s “motor voter” case, Foulkes claims that Acorn specifically sought out Obama’s representation in the motor voter case, remembering Obama from the days when he worked with Talbot. And while many reports speak of Obama’s post-law school role organizing “Project VOTE” in 1992, Foulkes makes it clear that this project was undertaken in direct partnership with Acorn. Foulkes then stresses Obama’s yearly service as a key figure in Acorn’s leadership-training seminars.
According to the New York Times, Obama’s memberships on those foundation boards, “allowed him to help direct tens of millions of dollars in grants” to various liberal organizations, including Chicago Acorn, “whose endorsement Obama sought and won in his State Senate race.” As best as I can tell (and this needs to be checked out more fully), Acorn maintains both political and “non-partisan” arms. Obama not only sought and received the endorsement of Acorn’s political arm in his local campaigns, he recently accepted Acorn’s endorsement for the presidency, in pursuit of which he reminded Acorn officials of his long-standing ties to the group.

In fairness to Senator Obama, after Kenya erupted into violence ( and at the request of Condoleezza Rice), Obama did record a message “. …calling for calm…” and had “..near daily conversations with the US Ambassador…and Raila Odinga” (“The Demons That Still Haunt Africa” TIME magazine 1/10/2008). Perhaps not surprisingly, President Kibaki apparently declined to take his call. Kibaki’s not the only one no longer filled with enthusiasm for Senator Obama’s brand of diplomacy. As Nicholas Kristof reported (with some surprise) in February: “You might think that all Kenyans would be vigorously supporting Mr. Obama. But Kenya has been fractured along ethnic lines in the last two months, so now Mr. Obama draws frenzied support from the Luos ethnic group of his ancestors, while many members of the rival Kikuyu group fervently support Hillary Rodham Clinton. I agree with Joe Biden. I haven’t heard anything about McSame’s policies that are going to be different from Bushes. I haven’t read it in the papers, or heard it on the news. I’ve registered over 500 people to vote and have something to say about ACORN.
First of all, I have registered over 500 people to vote in the past months. It is a fantastic experience. There is nothing like registering someone to vote for the first time in their lives and they actually have tears in their eyes.
Having worked in grassroots politics since I was was a kid with my father dragging my sisters and myself in the foggy autumn streets in Wilmington, Delaware, I learned how it all matters on Election Day. I can vaguely remember that first victory party as someone less than 10 years old where the winning candidate addressed the crowd to thank them for helping him win.
I’ve done plenty of work since I was a kid back then and there have been as many tragic losses as euphoric victories in my political sojourns.
As for ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), there is lot to be said about their efforts. I worked for them when I lived in San Francisco. All I can say is that the people that I worked with at ACORN were the some of the best people I have ever had the chance to work with. Yes, they hire people on the down and out to do efforts like registering people to vote.
The main thing about that is that the forms that are filled out are then scrutinized by the well-versed staff and then sent to to the local Elections Board staff, who check the forms for legitimate photo IDs, license numbers and addresses. Those forms are then submitted to the Electoral staff for their town and scrutinized again for validity.
It’s a three-level validation process before a voter registration form is validated. The ACORN issue is nothing more than a sore-sport non-issue that the Republicans are using to validate their severe losses on November 4th.

We are going to keep bleeding until we put someone smart and well educated in the White House. A students who made “C’s” and “D’s” and was caught by the enemy and wasn’t smart enough not to be taken as a prisoner of war is not the one to lead.

Trumpet provides a rounded picture of Wright’s views, and what it shows unmistakably is that the now-infamous Y**Tu** snippets from Wright’s sermons are authentic reflections of his core political and theological beliefs. It leaves no doubt that his religion is political, his attitude toward America is bitterly hostile, and he has fundamental problems with capitalism, white people, and “assimilationist” blacks. Even some of Wright’s famed “good works,” and his moving “Audacity to Hope” sermon, are placed in a disturbing new light by a reading of Trumpet.

Getting across his political message is Wright’s highest priority. Back in May 2007, the liberal, Chicago-based Christian Century published an extended study–really a defense–of Wright’s church. Attempting to inoculate Wright (and Obama) from critics like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson, Christian Century dismissed the notion that Wright’s Trinity church “is a political organization constantly advocating for social change.” Yet in Trumpet, Wright and his fellow columnists show themselves to be exactly that.
Wright is the foremost acolyte of James Cone’s “black liberation theology,” which puts politics at the center of religion. Wright himself is explicit:
[T]here was no separation Biblically and historically and there is no separation contemporaneously between ‘religion and politics.’ .  .  . The Word of God has everything to do with racism, sexism, militarism, social justice and the world in which we live daily.

When Trumpet surprised Wright with a “Lifetime Achievement Trumpeter Award,” it said that he “preaches a liberation theology” whose “religious message [is] fused with political activism.” Not only does black liberation theology founder James Cone see Wright as
his most important follower, but Wright’s successor as pastor at Trinity, Otis Moss III, also views Wright as the quintessential political pastor. Moss (himself now considered the most promising young black-liberationist preacher in the country) turned down the opportunity to step into the leadership of his own preacher-father’s nationally known church for a chance to serve at the still more renowned Trinity. Wright’s Trinity, affirms Moss, is “the most socially conscious African-centered and politically active church in the nation.”
While the majority of Trumpet’s articles weave radical politics into a religious framework, some are purely political. For example, the April 2006 issue features a column entitled “Demand Impeachment Now!” The author pointedly refuses to call Bush “president,” merely referring to him as the “resident” of the White House (and therefore as “Resident Bush”). Another piece taunts Vice President Cheney for his shooting accident and ends, “America, it’s time for regime change.” Neither piece has so much as a religious

veneer.
What about patriotism? While many consider Wright’s call for God to damn America irredeemable, others might argue that “in context,” Wright’s prophetic denunciations actually prove his love of country. Unfortunately, neither Wright nor any of the other regular Trumpet columnists displays a trace of this “I’m denouncing you because I love you” stance. On the contrary, the pages of Trumpet resonate with enraged criticism of the United States. Indeed, they feature explicit repudiations of even the most basic expressions of American patriotism, supporting instead an “African-centered” perspective that treats black Americans as virtual strangers in a foreign land.
Although the expression “African American” appears in Trumpet, the magazine more typically refers to American blacks as “Africans living in the Western Diaspora.” Wright and the other columnists at Trumpet seem to think of blacks as in, but not of, America. The deeper connection is to Africans on the continent, and to the worldwide diaspora of African-originated peoples. In an image that captures the spirit of Wright’s relationship to the United States, he speaks of blacks as “songbirds” locked in “this cage called America.”

Wright views the United States as a criminal nation. Here is a typical passage: “Do you see God as a God who approves of Americans taking other people’s countries? Taking other people’s women? Raping teenage girls and calling it love (as in Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemmings)?” Anyone who does think this way, Wright suggests, should revise his notion of God. Implicitly drawing on Marxist “dependency theory,” Wright blames Africa’s troubles on capitalist exploitation by the West, and also on inadequate American aid: “Some analysts would go so far as to even call what [the United States, the G-8, and multinational corporations] are doing [in Africa] genocide!”
According to Wright, America’s alleged genocide in Africa, as well as its treatment of “Africans in the Western diaspora,” both leads to and flows from a single underlying truth: “White supremacy is the bed rock of the philosophical, ideological and theological foundations of this country.” So for Wright, it’s really not a question of correcting America in the spirit of a loving patriot. America, to Wright, is a kind of alien formation, scarcely less of a “cage” for “Africans in the Western Diaspora” than it was during the days of slavery: “[T]his country is built off, and continues to exist on, the premise of white supremacy.” Again and again, Wright makes the point that America’s criminality and racism are not aberrations but of the essence of the nation, that they are every bit as alive today as during the slave era, and that America is therefore no better than the worst international offenders: “White supremacy undergirds the thought, the ideology, the theol-ogy, the sociology, the legal structure, the educational system, the healthcare system, and the entire reality of the United States of America and South Africa!” (Emphasis Wright’s.)

Given Wright’s conviction that America, past and present, is criminally white supremacist–even genocidal–to its core, Wright is not a fan of patriotic celebration. Predictably, Columbus Day is a day of rage for Wright. Calling Columbus a racist slave trader, Wright excoriates the holiday as “a national act of amnesia and denial,” part of the “sick and myopic arrogance called Western History.”
Strangely, given his view of this country, Wright insists that real credit for America’s discovery goes to Africans. As evidence for the African discovery of America, Wright cites Dr. Ivan van Sertima’s book They Came Before Columbus. (Sertima’s work has been severely criticized by scholars and was dismissed by prominent British archaeologist Glyn Daniel in a 1977 New York Times book review as “ignorant rubbish.”) Wright concludes: “Giving Columbus the credit is called ‘American History’ or ‘The History of Western Civilization.’ Back in the 1960′s we called it what it was and is, however, and that is ‘a pack of lies.’  ”
Contempt for Columbus Day is hardly novel, but in the 2006 July/August issue, regular Trumpet columnist the Rev. Reginald Williams Jr. comes down hard on the Fourth of July, which Williams dismisses as “the national holiday of the dominant culture.” Williams invokes Frederick Douglass’s famous 1852 Fourth of July address:
What to the slave is the 4th of July? What have I to do with your national independence? .  .  . What to the American slave is your 4th of July? I answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham .  .  . your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless .  .  . your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings .  .  . mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy–a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages.

To Williams, Douglass’s words ring every bit as true today as they did before the Civil War and the abolition of slavery. (This column is illustrated with a large picture of slave manacles.) Williams goes on to echo and update Douglass, condemning the Fourth as “nothing more than a day off work and a time for some good barbeque to the millions of African Americans who suffer and have suffered under the policies of this government and this country.” Liberation theologian that he is, Williams is particularly hostile to those who “will even invoke religious fervor, and biblical quotes to justify their flawed sense of phony patriotism.” No flag pins here.
Hostility to capitalism is another of Trumpet’s pervasive themes. As we’ve seen, Wright blames multinational corporations for conflict and poverty in Africa. Trinity Church urges parishioners to boycott Wal-Mart, and Wright decries what he calls “the “Wal-martization of the world.” In another one of his regular Trumpet columns, Reginald Williams criticizes McDonald’s for failing to heed leftist advocacy groups by voluntarily raising the price it pays for tomatoes (so as to raise the wages of tomato pickers). Williams apparently wants to replace market mechanisms with a pricing system dictated by “human rights groups.”
While the nationally distributed issues of Trumpet in 2006 contained no pieces blaming 9/11 on America’s “terrorist” foreign policy (as Wright did in a famous sermon), one remarkable piece defended then-congress-woman Cynthia McKinney’s suspicion that the Bush administration knew about the 9/11 attacks before they happened. This column, “The Beloved Cynthia McKinney” (illustrated with pictures of McKinney in model-like poses), decries the fact that McKinney was “tarred and feathered in the press” for raising questions about possible government foreknowledge of 9/11. The “crimes of 9/11,” it darkly announces, are “not only unsolved, but covered up by both Democrats and Republicans.”
America’s justice system is another favorite Trumpet theme. Wright likes to call it “the criminal injustice system.” A piece headed “Read Me My Rights: Protocol for Dealing with the Police” decries racial profiling and counsels those detained to refuse to speak to police without a lawyer present. Reginald Williams calls prisons “the new concrete plantations” and likens the inclusion of nonvoting prisoners in state population counts to the official counting of nonvoting slaves in state populations before the Civil War. In other words, the abolition of slavery and segregation notwithstanding, America is still a fundamentally racist nation. Wright likes to call the American North “up South.”

Is Wright an anti-white racist? He would certainly deny it. In When Black Men Stand Up for God (a book he coauthored, in praise of Louis Farrakhan’s Million Man March), Wright says, “The enemy is not white people. The enemy is white supremacy.” There are white members of Wright’s church, and black liberation theologians have always, if a bit reluctantly, welcomed support from white radicals. Nonetheless, the problem of reverse racism keeps coming up, abetted by episodes like the assault on “garlic-nosed” Italians.
Wright’s swipe at Italians is actually directed toward the Romans who crucified Jesus (in what James Cone calls a “first-century lynching”). Following black liberation theology, Wright emphasizes that the black Jesus was “murdered by the European oppressors who looked down on His people.” In a sense, then, disclaimers notwithstanding, Wright turns the crucifixion into a potential charter for “anti-European” anger.
Wright, however, rejects the notion that “black racism” is even possible. That is why he prefers the term “white supremacy” to “racism.” “Racism,” says Wright, is a “slippery” and “nebulous” term, precisely because it seems potentially applicable to blacks and whites alike. The term “white supremacy” solves this problem, and Wright deploys it at every opportunity.
Wright opposes “assimilation,” expressing displeasure with the likes of Condoleezza Rice, Clarence Thomas, and Colin Powell. He dismisses such blacks as “sell outs.” Wright’s hostility to assimilation goes beyond classic American expressions of pride in ethnic or religious heritage. For example, Wright claims that “desegregation is not the same as integration. .  .  . Desegregation did not mean that white children would now come to Black schools and learn our story, our history, our heritage, our legacy, our beauty and our strength!” This, for Wright, is genuine “integration.”

One of the most striking features of Wright’s Trumpet columns is the light they shed on his longstanding theme of “hope.” Wright’s “Audacity to Hope” sermon is built around a painting he describes of a torn and tattered woman sitting atop a globe and playing a harp that has lost all but a single string. In that sermon, Wright’s allegory of hope amidst despair concentrates on our need to soldier on in faith amidst personal tragedy. Yet the “Audacity” sermon also features allusions to South Africa’s Sharpe-ville Massacre (1960) and “white folks’s greed [that] runs a world in need.”
In Trumpet, the political context of the “hope” theme is harsher still. Instead of counseling determination amidst personal tragedy, Wright uses “hope” to exhort his readers to boldly carry on the long-odds struggle against white supremacist America: “We deconstruct the vicious and demonic ideology of white supremacy with hope.” Here’s another passage in the same mode:
[O]ur fight against Wal-Mart’s practices has not been won and might never be won in our lifetime. That does not mean we stop struggling against what it is they stand for that is not in keeping with God’s will and God’s Kingdom that we pray will come every day.
In that earlier striking passage on the post-Katrina flooding in New Orleans, Wright speaks of his determination to “drum into the heads of our African American children (and indeed, all children!)” the idea that America is flooded with the “crocodiles, alligators and piranha” of white supremacy. That image creates the context for one of Wright’s most energetic invocations of “hope”:
We are on the verge of launching our African-centered Christian school. The dream of that school, which we articulated in 1979, was built on hope. That hope still lives. That school has to have at its core an understanding and assessment of white supremacy as we deconstruct that reality to help our children become all that God created them to be when God made them in God’s own image.
The construction of a school for inner city children undoubtedly falls into the category of the “good works” which nearly everyone recognizes as a benefit bestowed by Trinity Church on the surrounding community, Wright’s ideology notwithstanding. But is a school that portrays America as a white supremacist nation filled with predatory alligators and piranha a good work?
Wright’s status as a father-figure comes through clearly in the pages of Trumpet. In a Trumpet interview, Jesse Jackson characterizes Wright as “between a huge father, pastor, preacher, [and] prophet.” Wright’s young minister protégés call him “Daddy J” and “Uncle J,” and perhaps this latter name prompted Obama’s reference to Wright as “like an uncle.” Obama’s longing for a father figure surely gave him a great hunger to get to know what Wright was about. In their first meeting, Wright warned Obama that many considered him too politically radical, and it is simply inconceivable that in 20 years’ time someone as sharp as Obama did not grasp the intensely political themes repeated in so much of what Wright says and does. Radical politics is no sideline for Wright, but the very core of his theology and practice.

Will the media ask questions about the Obama-Ayers relationship and its beginnings before 1995, when Ayers helped arranged the hiring of Obama as head of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and maintained a close relationship of its board for years?
Here are some questions the media should be asking and did not ask throughout the long primary season, abdicating its responsibility. Imagine what would have happened if the media had fully vetted Obama and practiced journalism as they should have done.
1.When did Barack Obama first meet Bill Ayers? Was it in New York City? Under what circumstances? Was it at Cooper Union when Ayers was a graduate student there and Obama at Columbia? Was it at Columbia when Ayers was at the teachers’ college?
2.Did Ayers play any role in Obama coming to Chicago as an organizer in 1985? Did the Ayers influence the Woods Fund in any way to subsidize through the Gamaliel Foundation Obama’s job? (The Woods Fund was created by the family of the Safari Coal Company, a major supplier of Commonwealth Edison, whose CEO was Thomas Ayers.)
3.Did Ayers introduce Obama the organizer to his family, his father Tom and brother John? Did they involve Obama in the school reform movement they led in Chicago?
4.Did the Ayers family help Obama become a summer associate at Sidley Austen, the father’s company’s law firm?
5.Did Bernardine Dohrn know Michelle Robinson when they both worked at Sidley at the same time? Did she or Ayers introduce Michelle to Barack at Sidley?
6.Did Dohrn, who attended the University of Chicago Law School with Judson Miner, play any part in helping Obama get a job at the Davis Miner law firm?

We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.
Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.
The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.
The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.
Those same leaders who were in the streets in the ’60s are very powerful today in their work to bring down the Iraq war and to attack our president, and they have found their way into our schools. William Ayers is a good example of that.
Thank God, today, we have a strong generation of young soldiers who know exactly who they are and what they must do to protect our freedom and our democracy. And we have the leadership of Gen. David Petraeus, who has brought hope and stability to Iraq and prevented the terrorists from establishing a base in that country. Our soldiers are lifting us to an example of patriotism at a time when we’ve almost forgotten who we are and what is at stake.
If Mr. Obama had his way, he would have pulled our troops from Iraq years ago and initiated an unprecedented bloodbath, turning over that country to the barbarianism of our enemies. With what he has openly stated about his plans for our military, and his lack of understanding about the true nature of our enemies, there’s not a cell in my body that can accept the idea that Mr. Obama can keep us safe from the terrorists around the world, and from Iran, which is making great strides toward getting the atomic bomb. And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend.
Gen. Wesley Clark, who himself has shame upon him, having been relieved of his command, has done their bidding and become a lying fool in his need to demean a fellow soldier and a true hero.
This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.

Massive problems that this country are facing will never be solved with republicans and democrats being incited to hatred. Throwing slime all over the candidates in this election is making already heightened nerves trigger the fight or flight response, where flight is not an option. We have nothing but words to use, and the safety of the internet creates what i call ‘liquid courage’. we allow the darkest corners of our psyche to manifest and unleash scurrilous attacks on the ‘enemy’.
To the candidates (in the off chance this reaches them): Drop the personal attacks and focus on these issues: Economy, Energy, Iraq and Afghanistan, Russia, how to get North Korea back to the table, how to start negotiations with Iran and other unfriendly nations, Budget and the Deficit, what we need to do to restrengthen NATO and our weakened alliances and view in the world, Education, Health Care, and how important it is to address our environment so that we are a model for the rest of the world to follow.
Notice that i said nothing about Taxes, and that is because everyone needs to know a few things so that our country can move forward.
Our government has been extremely irresponsible and we all know this. Blame at this point does no good, what we have to do is stop the bleeding that is swiftly becoming terminal. We have a $11 Trillion dollar national debt, and that is growing by $1 trillion every two years as it sits now.
The only methods that a Government has to create revenue under the capitalist economic system are Taxes and Tariffs. Tariffs were proven to only hurt the national economy as the world economy grew, so they are no longer a good way to provide income, but are used more to promote domestic products. That leaves the government taxes to provide income, and without taking over businesses it is the only option.
it is my belief that the primary reason americans dislike paying taxes is because we feel the government does not manage that income very well. We as citizens must demand fiscal responsibility from all our representatives in government, local, state and federal. We have allowed ourselves to become complacent when it comes to voting in our senators and congresspeople, reelecting the same ones because of name recognition and the way the system works. it is our responsibility to get rid of those who go along with fiscal mismanagement like the current administration has done.
So from this election cycle forward, we have to demand fiscal responsibility from our senators and congressmen, and in return we must shoulder the burden of increased taxes in order to address both the deficit and the national debt. We must demand the repair of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans benefits for the brave men and women who carry out the orders of the president. We must demand that the health care system in this country is optimized and made so that no one who lives here ever stays home because they are afraid of bankruptcy if they go to the hospital. We must demand that we stop all imports of foreign oil, and invest in sustainable development in addition to all alternative energy sources and give tax credits for next generation fuel research. We must demand that our teachers are paid a living wage, and improve the schools for all our children, and make college affordable so that we stay on the cutting edge of technology. We must demand these things because we as Americans deserve this way of life.
We must demand that the spirit of the Constitution lives on, and that no administration ever places security above freedom its citizens, and that we treat everyone with the same rights that we cherish. This is vital because without promoting life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all on the earth we are not living up to the standard that the founding father and all whom have given their life for those ideals a disservice.
After 5-10 years our government should be able to reduce taxes back to current levels, and if they aren’t, we have every right to vote them out and elect people who will do their job.
This is the call to service that we need in this time of crisis, and we owe it to our forefathers to step up to that call. Put aside the hate, and remember back to how we put aside differences when the country we all love needed us most, because she is calling to us again now.

Angelo, do you agree with the ongoing war with no end in sight in Iraq? While I do agree with keeping our people safe, I don’t agree with attacking every nation that we PERCEIVE to be a threat to us. Diplomacy first. Look at what President Bush did with Iraq. Supposedly, the mission was accomplished and we’re still there almost five years later. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. The bottom line is we have a trigger happy President now and voting for McCain guarantees at least 4 more years of the same old stuff.

Angelo: You seem to be a very knee jerk reaction kind of guy judging from your posts. Sure you can talk about videos of beheadings and think that is what Obama is talking about. You could also think about how we are giving terrorists battle hardened training where only the best and brightest survive. Two sides to every coin. The idea is to try diplomacy first. If that doesn’t work then all hell can break loose. I would hate to think we killed any service member when a sitdown would have prevented it. It’s called keeping a cool head. That is something McCain is not known for at all. Turn off rant radio and look to other sources for real news.

Beck, agreed the war in Iraq needs to come to an end, that would help us out economically, if we didn’t have to send resources to finish in Afganistan and Pakistan. But, these are situations we can not abandon, and I will tell you why. Let’s say we leave all of those nations, and have our troops come home. Yes we end the war on foriegn land, but that gives al-queada an invitaion to bring the war to our soil, and quite frankly we are not prepared for that kind of assault, no matter who the president is. We need to finish what we started, and yes the first step is get our combat troops out of Iraq and reassign them to Afganistan and Pakistan. We also need more help from our allies, since terrorism affects them as well.

I am a fan of GMA but am increasingly dissatisfied with ABC’s campaign coverage – obviously favoring Obama. Particularly Diane, Charlie Gibson, & George Stephanopoulos. This morning GMA presented a video of a man in the Wisconsin audience talking about how angry he was, BUT GMA cut the video off before the man finished speaking which gave the impression that he was angry with McCain & Palin – he was a McCain/Palin supporter and his full message would have shown that to the public. You spin & twist so much of the campaign news to slant your news toward Obama. Pick up some of the news from Chicago regarding Obama and his connections with Ayers, ACORN, & Tony Rezko – I challenge you to investigate the truth of those issues for your viewers.

You also do not mention to Sarah Palin about the Joe Vogler and her husband. THIS will be cool if Obama gets elected. Then I won’t have to work hard – because if I do, I will get ding’d in taxes. I will finally be able to sit back and coast along, and just hold out my hand and ask, “Where is my tax credit, where is the money, and WHERE is my health insurance?!” Now there’s an incentive for all Americans!!

I think one way to look at it is this, nothing can be done to fix the economy, in fact, we ourselves need to live within our own budgets, and not borrow from banks. The only thing we can almost control is our situtation with the wars. Iraq was is going to end, no matter who is the president, that will help our economy. Then we need to WIN in Afganistan and Pakistan, and put a stop RADICAL Islam.
At that point, you will see our economy rebound. But to say that either candidate can fix this economy is naive.
The best we can hope for is a qualified

Oct 1st, 2008 | WASHINGTON — The Republican presidential candidate who took the economic bailout so seriously that he suspended many campaign activities last week stayed quiet in the Senate when it came time to vote on it.
Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama, his Democratic rival, both left the campaign trail Wednesday and returned to Washington to vote on the historic $700 billion bailout. Both voted for the bill.
Obama used the opportunity before his colleagues and TV cameras to lay out his rationale and explain his economic vision.
“This will not solve all our problems,” Obama said on the Senate floor, as his Democratic colleagues streamed in to listen. “This is what we need to do right now, to prevent the possibility of a crisis turning into a catastrophe.”
McCain did not speak about the measure from the chamber. Before the roll was called, the Arizona senator dined in Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell’s office with other GOP senators.
“He was working hard with his colleagues to ensure that this package moved forward,” said Mark Buse, McCain’s Senate chief of staff. “He didn’t see the need to speak on the bill.”
Both senators voted for the bill, which passed 74-25. It now goes to the House, which is expected to vote on Friday.
McCain discussed the measure earlier in the day in Missouri, but his decision not to speak about it in the Senate stood out because he had cited the seriousness of the issue when he took the dramatic step a week earlier of suspending his campaign and suggesting what became a bipartisan White House meeting on the crisis.
McCain is action-oriented by nature and usually is a ready Republican participant in trying to work out compromises on major pieces of stalled legislation. But he has struggled to strike the right balance between being involved in the crisis without appearing to exploit the situation for political purposes. Democrats accused him of politicizing the crisis when he rushed back to Washington last week to help.
The Republican let his words speak for him earlier Wednesday at the Truman Library and Museum in Independence, Mo. “If we fail to act, the gears of our economy will grind to a halt,” he said in a speech.
It’s been rough going for the bailout package and it was hoped that the rare appearances by Sens. Obama and McCain would help propel it to passage. The candidates in turn were seeking political advantage by addressing the top issue on voters’ minds.
In reality, the candidates have had little to do with drafting the bill’s various versions. And their influence over their Senate counterparts was unclear.
The House on Monday rejected an earlier version, a move that sent the stock market into a 778-point dive.
Wednesday it was the Senate’s turn. In rare agreement, leaders of both parties presented a rewrite with a variety of sweeteners for lawmakers reluctant to vote ‘yes’ a little more than a month before Election Day.
Obama urged any lawmakers on the fence to “step up to the plate.”
“Let’s do what’s right for the country at this time, because the time to act is now,” he said on the Senate floor.
Lawmakers of both parties said Wednesday the changes made the bill more palatable. McCain, in Missouri, said he was pleased that the bill includes taxpayer protections, limitations on executive compensation and sufficient protections for people’s bank accounts.
They include an increase in Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. protection for bank accounts from $100,000 to $250,000. Both McCain and Obama had endorsed the hike in deposit insurance.

Well this in a half hour I will not waste of my time. Obama is not worth watching. All he does is lie. He will never be President. He is a joke.

I think the most prudent think for the radical right to do at this stage is to blame the Clinton administration. Certainly they had something to do with the most sizable run up ever in government spending these past 7 years, certainly they had something to do with planting weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and then sneaking them out, certainly they had something to do with deregulation of the finacial industry and the current meltdown. If you’re an earnest republican, you have an obligation to point the finger at someone other then your own party. If it weren’t so sad, it might be more comical to watch the aged John McCain trying to come across as an agent of change, when he’s basically been attached at the hip to George Bush’s policies for the past 7 years…but hey maybe that’s Clinton’s fault as well! There will be a colossal mandate come November 4th, not unlike when Ronald Reagan first went into office. I’d recommend that for their own mental health the McCain-Palin supporters take a deep breath, and calm down. In 25 short days it will all be over. John can head back to the senate and write up a plan to buy back all of the foreclosed homes in the US (seemingly the antithesis to ther conservative mantra – then again John’s been a bit erratic) and Sarah can head back to Alaska where I’m sure she’s welcomed as a very capable executive.

1. Yes, Sarah Palin is being drug around in the dirt because she is a Republican woman and how dare the person call Sarah a Caribou Barbie! That is one of the most sexist comments, yet. Also, for the one who called her “trailer trash” that just shows to me that it is not the Republicans who are elitists but the Democrats.This should be very offensive to those whose homes are trailers and who don’t make a six figure income.
2.It keeps coming up about the Bridge to Nowhere. Obama has ALSO been in favor of MANY things and then changed his mind….Israel/Pakistan…Russian/Georgia, etc. but NO-ONE dwells on that. In fact, he can’t make a decision; he just goes with the flow after asking dozens of advisors. He is charmismatic, I will give him that but charisma isn’t what we need. Some of you mentioned that McCain’s heroism doesn’t qualify him for the White House…well,okay then…neither does being a charismatic celebrity. Obama would be a great film star. He loves the spotlight. He’s an eloquent speaker. I’ve heard that John McCain is not. Hmmm…someone who’s become good at smoothly eloquent speaking probably has learned to make words work for him and twist them when necessary and people won’t even notice.
3. I’ve noticed that some are comparing Palin’s lack of experience and background to Obama. How come they are not doing the same comparison on McCain and Obama? Why is Joe Biden not the one that is being compared to her? At least, I have not seen much to that;maybe someone can fill me in on somewhere I could see this.
4. It seems Palin has so many sins in her life and McCain, too. Then,I guess the Democrats are without sin. They are presenting themselves as perfect. Too bad the voters are not nearly as perfect as Obama. In the Bible, there was a story about an adulteress that was getting ready to be stoned to death. Jesus told them “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” The Dems have done a great job of casting the stones and hitting Palin.
And, let’s not forget the Democrat who was President, and even though I’m not a Democrat, he did a decent job of the duties in office, yet he was an adulterer while in the office that he was elected to, disappointing Americans, but in this whole election,no one, not even the Republicans (except this one) has brought that up;(which is right thing NOT to do)maybe, it is because we all have skeletons in our closet. Have you ever thought what would come out if you ran for office?
5. The newstands are full of articles tearing Palin down, but I’ve yet to see the faces of Obama (the liberal media’s little darling) or Joe Biden on the covers presented in a negative way. I agree with one blogger who said that these publications are only ruining themselves. Let’s do real journalistic reporting…report the facts, Jack on both sides, both negative and positive and let the readers decide. I would absolutely LOVE to see an article in a mag that compares Obama to McCain and in the same mag Palin to Biden, side by side on issues, skeletons in the closets, biographies, awards and honors….maybe in the form of resumes so the American public could compare and then at the polls hire the ticket they think would be the best for the job.
6. Finally, and then, I’m through. I understand it may be good to understand the candidates’ views based on their faith but it is a little undeserving to undermine one for “praying” that God’s will be done. Our country was founded on a faith in the One True God, The Creator and our laws and values were built upon the Christian faith, but now, it’s not politically correct to be a Christian,no one must renounce their deep beliefs in order to please everyone. I couldn’t see one bit of hatred in the video that has been circulating where she spoke at her church in Alaska. Praying for someone does not cause hatred or racism or sexism. Their beliefs in their faith did not say they hated gays,only that they would be praying for them. And, in the privacy of a church building, they may do whatever (within the law) that they believe. Now that Obama has disowned his pastor, no one has mentioned anymore about how that church shaped his views. They are afraid to because of the venomous rhetoric that came from the pastor’s mouth. Does anyone know what Biden believes;have they gone to a church he attends or does he attend one? What about McCain? What are his religious values? So, then, why does that play into the equation with Palin? I could understand if she were part of an anti-government,hate religion. The most she could be convicted of in her faith is saying that she believes in praying to God, asking His will for the country. Go back in history to other presidents; many were men who prayed or sought God’s will. At least, the great ones did.
Thank you, both Republicans and Democrats for letting me air my feelings. How, sometimes I wish we didn’t have parties. I can’t stand the division and hatred that ensues. Especially when we say “United we stand, Divided we fall.” Let’s just let each other vote our consciences or faith or whatever standard and quit yelling at each other. I really hope that people in other countries don’t read our comments because it will show the United States are not so united after all. And…I will be praying for this election, that God will put in the candidates He wants (and, although I will vote Republican which is voting based on my faith) I know that whichever party gets in will be because God put them there “for such a time as this” and I will relax and support the Preident of the United States and respect the office.

“We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.
Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.
The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.
The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.
Those same leaders who were in the streets in the ’60s are very powerful today in their work to bring down the Iraq war and to attack our president, and they have found their way into our schools. William Ayers is a good example of that.
Thank God, today, we have a strong generation of young soldiers who know exactly who they are and what they must do to protect our freedom and our democracy. And we have the leadership of Gen. David Petraeus, who has brought hope and stability to Iraq and prevented the terrorists from establishing a base in that country. Our soldiers are lifting us to an example of patriotism at a time when we’ve almost forgotten who we are and what is at stake.
If Mr. Obama had his way, he would have pulled our troops from Iraq years ago and initiated an unprecedented bloodbath, turning over that country to the barbarianism of our enemies. With what he has openly stated about his plans for our military, and his lack of understanding about the true nature of our enemies, there’s not a cell in my body that can accept the idea that Mr. Obama can keep us safe from the terrorists around the world, and from Iran, which is making great strides toward getting the atomic bomb. And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend.
Gen. Wesley Clark, who himself has shame upon him, having been relieved of his command, has done their bidding and become a lying fool in his need to demean a fellow soldier and a true hero.
This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.”
