Palin Prods McCain to Get In Obama’s Face
ABC News’ Teddy Davis and Imtiyaz Delawala Report:
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is once again prodding John McCain to be more aggressive with Barack Obama, telling ABC’s affiliate in New Hampshire that Barack Obama has "called John McCain out."
"Barack Obama even has called John McCain out on this saying, ‘Hey, if you’ve got something to say, say it to my face in a debate,’" said Palin.
"So we’ll see tonight if John McCain does that," Palin added in her interview with ABC affiliate WMUR.
Watch it here.
Palin’s WMUR interview was not the first time that she has prodded McCain to be more aggressive. During an interview earlier this month with New York Times columnist Bill Kristol, Palin urged McCain to raise Obama’s connection to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
“To tell you the truth, Bill," Palin told Kristol in an interview published on Oct. 5, "I don’t know why that association isn’t discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that — with, I don’t know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn’t get up and leave — to me, that does say something about character."
"But, you know," she added, "I guess that would be a John McCain call on whether he wants to bring that up.”
Palin’s "say it to my face" remark to WMUR stems from Obama’s suggestion to ABC’s Charles Gibson last week that McCain was reluctant to raise Obama’s association with Bill Ayers, the ’60′s radical turned professor of education.
"Well, I am surprised that, you know, we’ve been seeing some pretty over-the-top attacks coming out of the McCain campaign over the last several days that he wasn’t willing to say it to my face," Obama told ABC’s Gibson.
Watch Obama discuss Bill Ayers with ABC’s Charles Gibson here.
Obama, who served on an education reform panel with Ayers, has, at times, played down his contacts with the former leader of the Weather Underground. But Obama has never expressed sympathy for the radical views of Ayers and Obama has referred to the domestic bombing campaign led by Ayers as "detestable."
McCain has ruled out personally using Wright, the controversial former pastor repudiated by Obama, against the Democratic presidential nominee.
But McCain suggested during a Tuesday interview with a St. Louis radio station that Obama was wrong to think that he does not have the "guts" to raise Ayers.
“I was astonished to hear him say that he was surprised for me to have the guts to do that,” McCain told KMOX Radio on Tuesday. “Because the fact is that the question did not come up in that fashion so–you know–I think he’s probably ensured that it will come up this time."

I am so not interested in anything Sarah Palin has to say because she says nothing. The woman is clever and knows how to appeal to joe sixpack/hockeymom-pitbulls but she’s got no brains to speak of. If one has to choose between brains and no brains, the choice is easy. Palin’s one big duh and I’d love nothing more than to see her get on a plane back to Alaska, which is near Russia, so she can put her foreign policy experience to good use. John McCain, you should be ashamed of yourself for choosing Palin. If you wanted a woman as a running mate, why didn’t you pick Kay Hutchinson? Too smart?

Every time McCain mentions homeland security and inexperience, voters should think PALIN might be in charge if something happens. Heaven forbid she ever is to be the President. She was a rash and irresponsible choice for running mate, a disastrous choice.
Obama should remind McCain that McCain is a lot like William Ayers, as both were involved in some nasty business when younger (Ayers with the Weathermen Underground, McCain with the Keating S&L scandal) and both have rehabilitated themselves to become productive members of society. They are like brothers with parallel paths. Future President Obama should point out a willingness to work with them both regardless of their past mistakes.

What I would really like to see is Biden and Palin go face to face in a real debate. She wouldn’t stand a chance. Palin wants to talk tough….okay, but do it front of someone who will challenge her and not in front of the cheerleaders she is doing now…She is a coward if you ask me. The few times she stepped in front of the legitimate press she froze.

Typical Palin. Just like her elections in Alaska, she has no positive position.
All Palin did in Alaska was attack her opponents for scandals just like she was just found guilty of.
When voters ask for a plan from Palin, she calls it “gotcha media”.

Indy_voter: You know what the saddest part is? Forget Biden.
The sad thing is – Palin couldn’t go face to face in a debate with George W. Bush! She makes W look like Einstein.
And that says something about her intelligence level.
Not sure if she is a coward. Pretty obvious she is ignorant.

Another intervening motion was filed today in the ongoing federal suit against Barack Obama. This motion, filed pro se by “U.S. Citizen and voter” Judson Witham of Provo, Utah, is the third such motion for leave to intervene filed in this case. As I mentioned when the others were filed, I feel as though we should continue to focus our attention on the case-in-chief.
So now we have the State of Washington, and Utah……with Mr. Berg’s filed motion AND STILL NOW “MEDIA” COVERAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Palin and McCain are so alike in so many ways. Both are impetuous, impulsive, aggressive, shoot-first-talk-later war-mongers … certainly not the kind who would be champions of world peace. There is a slight difference between them though … McCain has measureable politcal experience while Palin has but a spoonful of brains to back up her bravado.

McCain needs a knock out at this debate, everyone keeps saying, in order to save his campaign. I wonder what would happen to his campaign if he announced at the debate he was knocking Palin off the ticket and brought on someone new – Kay Hutchinson for ex., or anyone else really. When his campaign was tanking in the primaries he cleaned house and started over from scratch and that pushed him through enough to get the nomination. I wonder what ditching Palin would get him… Of course SNL would lose a lot of it’s appeal w/o a Palin to spoof, but if he’s going to embrace Palin’s “by any means necessary” approach, then maybe he should consider her fair game for the boot…

Sarah Parrot will cost McCain the election. Had he chosen Romney or even Liberman, he could have used the “experience” argument and just hammered on that.
But since he picked the Parrot, he’s had to be all ober the board with no clear message.
If he thinks mentioning Ayres will save him, he’s a fool. Only the right wing conspiracy nuts give a crap.
Anyone who goes to factcheck even once will see McCain and especially Palin have distorted this connection by leaps and bounds.

This moron doesn’t understand that there is a reason why McKlan cannot get aggressive on Obama. Obama knows McKlan’s whole history which is shady and he can get back to McKlan much harder. Okay Palin, you want McCain to get tough with Obama in the debate? Then maybe you could have the honesty and integrity to do a real interview, rather than only talk to ridiculously partisan news outlets like Hannity and Bill Kristol. Maybe if you would FACE the MEDIA they could get tough on you. Here’s what they could ask you:
1. The Branchflower report found you had violated Alaska state ethics law in your dismissal of Mr. Moneghan. Why did you lie and say you had been cleared of any ethical wrongdoing? Was is a lie, or are you just ignorant?
2. What was your husband’s involvement in the Alaska Independence Party? Why would you tape a greeting for the meeting of a Secessionist Party?
3. Why did you cut funds in the Alaska state budget for unwed mothers? Why did you cut educational funds for special needs children?
4. Why did you suddenly stop using your line about saying “thanks but no thanks to the bridge to nowhere”? Is it because it wasn’t true? Then why did you say it in the first place?
5. Why did you allow, when you were mayor of Wasilla, women who had been raped to pay for their own rape examination kits?
6. Why did you ask the Wasilla librarian about removing books from the library? Why did you subsequently attempt to have her fired?
7. Why did you give an important agricultural job to a high school friend despite her obvious lack of qualifications?
8. Why did you charge Alaskan taxpayers a per diem rate for nights you spent at home? Why did you charge them travel expenses for your children?
9. Why did you think it was appropriate for your husband to have a desk and phone in the Alaskan executuve offices, specifically for him to call people and try to convince them Trooper Wooten should be fired?
10. Why did you attend five colleges in six years pursuant to your journalism degree?
11. Why do you keep stating in your speeches that Senator Obama doesn’t view America “like you and I do”? Are you trying to stir up false xenophobia and racism?
You want to “play tough” Palin? Then answer some questions, for god’s sake. We’re waiting.

The outrageous decision has however shown that independents are intelligent.. deciding not to back a McCain/Palin ticket. This will go down in history as the most odd decision of all time.

Palin is speaking the truth. Someone needs to call this man out for issues that are important. When he says you are racist, you put it right back in his face and say, Is it racist to say that you are sitting iin a church who says G D America and an unrepentant terrorist who says he wish he did more after 9/11? I am not the one associating in long term relationships with these extremists who are unpatriotic and racist, period. You are. That is how you address that crap. Forget his skin tone, put the stuff in his face.

If the good looking economist, Mitt Romney, was on the ticket, McCain wouldn’t be having all of these problems and scandels. Palin knows nothing about foreign policy and even less about the economy. She can’t even give a decent interview. Why she was selected is more of a mystery than why we are fighting a war in Iraq. Maybe it’s a secret.

Obama never said that McCain does not have the guts to bring up Ayers. This is another McCain lie.
Meanwhile, McCain has a close association with G. Gordon Liddy, a true fascist terrorist. And we are now learning that his presidential transitional advisor, William Timmons, aided lobbyists who were helping Sadam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime.
McCain better be careful what he wishes for.

Palin is an idiot??!! It was Biden that told a crippled man to stand. It was Biden that told us all how he discusses politics with constituents at a restaurant that’s been closed for over a decade. It was Biden that told us over and over about his trips to Home Depot that no one that works at any Home Depot can remember. It was Biden that isn’t sure what Amendment is what. It was Biden that thought FDR was President in 1929. It was Biden that said FDR spoke on TV in 1929. Palin looks like a Rhodes Scholar compared to Biden the dimwit.

If he attacks Obama on trivial issues like Ayres, the few remaining undecideds get turned off and he loses for sure.
But, being an Obama supporter, I say McCain should always listen to Palin!

Look, I’m voting for Obama because the idea of Palin anywhere near the White House is horrifying. I don’t agree with Obama’s relationship with Wright and I was furious when I read about it many months ago. But Palin is just as bad! Her church, which she was a member of from childhood until a few years ago preaches that terrorist bombings on the Jews in Israel is God’s punishment, homosexuality can be “fixed” through faith, creation theory is fact and that anyone who doesn’t support Bush should burn in Hell. They believe in End Days and speaking in tongues. These people are NUTS. True fundamentalists and really seriously crazy. There is not argument that His Nothingness is articulate and well-spoken and a term got Biden in trouble which tanked his candidacy on the day he started. Zero-bama’s speeches can make you feeling really good.
At one point, George W. Bush was thought be be likable, with whom you’d rather have a beer with.
I do not know, but the are both unfit for this job – one thing they do have in common.
Zero is Zero-bama’s character. There has not been a single thing that he has done or has taken a responsibility in his life that you can say that has helped others, rather than benefiting himself.
He is a race-baiter. He equates the Clinton administration the same as that of Bush’s. He sold his soul by trashing his fellow democrats, the only successful president from his party in the past 60 years, simply it would benefit him by a few deceived votes. He has no principles. He is only into money giveaways during the primaries and the general election. He has lied to his supporters, first telling them he would vote against and filabuster the bill to allow Bush to spy on the citizens during the primaries to pander moveon.com, but only changed his mind to vote for it, taking our constitutional right of privacy away.
If none of these matter to you, good luck and good night.

It appears Palin is trying to undermine McCain. The rabid, foaming at the mouth members of the base enjoy nasty attacks, lies and smears and don’t care if none of its true. It is this segment of the base that worships Palin and she wants to hold onto these fans even if McCain/Palin loses. It is this segment of the base that go into nuclear type rage if McCain doesn’t attack tonight and they will excoriate him. They will hate McCain but will still be enamored with Palin.
It’s been said if someone can’t help her further her agenda she has no use for them. This, I believe it what we are seeing when she keeps undermining McCain in the press. Ask yourselves- have you ever heard of a VP candidate undermining their running mate in the press before now?????
This isn’t the first time Palin has done this and it won’t be the last.

Palin is a moron. She doesn’t realize that the attacks are backfiring on them. McCains approval rating has gone down since he went 100% negative. All Obama has to say is that McCain is desperate and trying to distract voters from the real issues that concern them. That’s all Obama has to say, and McCain will fulfill that image.

If it were not for speech writers, hundreds of advisors and the words written and flashed on a screern for him to READ, he would have been finished a long time ago. He is an artifical, superficial commercially wrapped piece of political history. His agenda will destroy America and its traditional system of government and values.

Holy Cow. How does “If he has something to say, he should say it to my face.” (i.e. don’t be a sneaky, smarmy chicken livered creep and go around whispering innuendos) turn into “He doesn’t have the GUTS to say it to my face.” Obama, ever taking the high road, did not SAY that, oh dim-witted-one. He SAID you shouldn’t go behind someone’s back and spread vicious rumors. Like the whole Republican campaign has done. I’m so ashamed they are waving the American flag while doing so. AND… (while I’m warm) Ms. Palin… haven’t you ever, ever, ever sat through a sermon you didn’t agree with? Come on over to the Catholic Church – I’m sure you’ll hear one! I’m less polite than Obama and I’ve been known to crawl over parishoners to get out of the church during a stupid hate filled sermon, but about 200 other good Catholics sat there and listened politely, even though most every one didn’t agree with the pastor. And I wouldn’t accuse THEM of being hateful. But then again, I’m not fighting for my political life.

Please people, for the love of our nation, please keep your mind and focus on the issues this year. Year after year we see Republicans use diversions to distract voters away from real issues. This is no different. We all know that this is NOT an issue for our country. Treat it as a non-issue. Disregard her and she fades away. She’s got nothing to say.
And I’m not even a Democrat, and would consider myself fairly right-of-center on most issues. Obama is just the better choice this year.

William from Australia: As you’re an Aussie I don’t really blame you for not knowing American politics. The main reason Palin was picked was to shore up the conservative base. The fact that she’s a woman is just icing on the cake. You see McCain might be a Republican, and in his mind, a maverick, but a REAL conservative knows he’s really a Democrat-lite. McCain has been a pain in the side of conservatives, and as proof, he was the best liked Republican, by Democrats, before this election.
As for Palin appealing to “Joe 6-pack”, Americans have railed for years about their choices of candidates being career politicians. Just look at Obama. The man never had a REAL job his entire life. That’s pretty much the same with Biden.
As for the hatred for Palin you see in these blogs, especially by women, it is because Palin is PRO-LIFE, and lives what she believes. Guaranteed the American media, and the female Democrats would LOVE her if she had a “D” next to her name and if she decided to kill her Downs Syndrome baby.

If McCain says anything about Wright, it will be another flip flop. Here’s what he had to say on 5/22/08, when he rejected Rev. John Hagee’s endorsement of his campaign:
“I have said I do not believe Sen. Obama shares Rev. Wright’s extreme views. But let me also be clear, Rev. Hagee was not and is not my pastor or spiritual adviser, and I did not attend his church for 20 years. I have denounced statements he made immediately upon learning of them, as I do again today,” McCain said.”
You all remember Rev. Hagee – John McCain’s supporter, up McCain decided he wasn’t an asset to the campaign. Some of Hagee’s choice pieces of wisdom:
“I believe that the Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans…I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are — were recipients of the judgment of God for that…There was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came. And the promise of that parade was that it was going to reach a level of sexuality never demonstrated before in any of the other Gay Pride parades…. The Bible teaches that when you violate the law of God, that God brings punishment sometimes before the day of judgment.”
Or:
“The military will have difficultly recruiting healthy and strong heterosexuals for combat purposes. Why? Fighting in combat with a man in your fox hole that has AIDS or is HIV positive is double jeopardy.”
A real charmer – you betcha!!
Then, they could go on to discuss Palin’s witch hunting pastor. What a delightful man! Nothing like whipping up a mob into a frenzy and running some poor woman out of town. But hey, after she left, there were fewer car accidents – nevermind that several bars closed about the same time. She was a witch…a witch I tell you!
Gosh, the list goes on and on with McCain and Palin. Adultry, misuse of one’s office, questionable expense reports, etc., etc., etc.
Maybe Palin should re-think her suggestion to her running mate.

I am a white woman who will vote for Sen Obama because he is the right person period. I want money in my pocket at the end of every month as I believe the rest of the country does. It’s a set up. Obama/Biden knew that McCain could not sit still while his very “honor” was challenged.
They want him to bring it up so they can turn on him and ask why he isn’t talking about the economy, jobs, the middle class. I mean isn’t this negative campaigning doing a great disservice to the American people? Come on John, how can you say country first? Seems like politics first to me.
McCain is a FOOL if he brings this stuff up. He needs to stay focused on the economy and show he is a leader, not show he is on the defensive.
I suspect he will rise to the bait, which will be the absolute end of his campaign.

Uh, NO Forrest Gump #2 is NOT the most popular gov in the nation, because her poll numbers have really fallen badly the MORE people know about her and her extremist views. I’m thinking that Palin MAY need to talk to her witchdoctor Thomas Muthee, to see if he can get off the witch-hunting trail long enough to give her a ‘witch-cleansing’ along with a heap of brains.
Palin once had an 89-percent approval rating, one of the highest in the nation, within weeks that number has fallen to sixty-five-percent. After years of support across the state, Alaskans are now holding anti-Palin rallies in town.

An Alaskan woman said they were in coffee shops, stores, cafes and everywhere and asking everyone if they knew Sarah. It didn’t work well for them, because most of Alaska 86% love Sarah Palin and there is no dirt.
So, they had “Gotcha games” on TV with her, since she is not a Journalist and TV reporter and Charles Gibson was rude, crude and turned most of America off for his interrogation and accusations with Sarah. It was disrespectful, to say the least.

It’s funny how all the republicans want McCain to go after Obama on this Ayers and Acorn stuff.
You may want to hear this stuff, but it won’t convince independent voters or conservative dems. It will TURN THEM OFF.
I say go ahead and goad the old man to do it, but it is a very stupid move if he does. He does not need to shore up his base, he has all those nuts in a row. He should be appealing to the middle, which this tactic will NOT do.

Why would anyone listen to Sarah Palin??With her lies, a husband who was affiliated with the Alaska Independence Party who wanted to secede from the Union, videos of her in her witch craft church, proven she has abused her power as Govenor of Alaska, her language alone should turn people off–do you want your children using her kind of language?–you betcha!–I am so sick of seeing her–you can bet her husband will be right behind her telling her what to do or say–she can’t even give a decent interview!! Wink! Wink! Do you honestly want someone like her as a leader of our country??? If so, then you need to get your head out of your A–!! She is such an embarrassement-I really do believe Cindy McCain called her ‘trailor trash redneck’–which I recently read she had said about Palin! She can’t even take care of her own kids like a parent should! Son who joined the service to prevent going to jail, a 17 year old pregnant, a 14 year old who we rarely see, another small girl and the last, a special needs child. She needs to be taking care of them, not out winking, showing her legs to everyone who looks!

Neither Biden or Obama are orators. Obama has a teleprompter and that is why he doesn’t answer questions. His rhetoric mantras are a bore and his worshippers are not the Heartland of America.
We all need to begin reporting illegals and this funding of their mortgages with the bail out is not fair to American Taxpayers!

If we want to bring up shady connections…
How about the Alaskan Independence Party, of which Todd Palin was a registered memeber from 1995-2002? The founder of the party is well-known to have said “I’m an Alaskan, not an American. I’ve got no use for America or her damned institutions.”
Or the fact that Sarah Palin have the welcome speech at their party conference THIS YEAR?
Or the head of the party in Wasilla saying the only time he didn’t have access to Sarah Palin while she was mayor was ‘one time but I think she was in a meeting.’
And how recently the party was advocating having memebers bled in to the two major parties in the country becuase it was virtually impossible to elect anyone to a high office on a third party ticket?
If we’re going to crucify Obama, let’s be fair to both sides. And saying Obama became indoctrinated by Rev. Wright is about as intelligent as saying Catholics must have a liking for children becuase so many priests seemed to. That’s the connection America is willing to make?

counting crows: I’m with YOU! If John McCain had picked Kay Bailey Hutchinson as his running mate, that ticket would have had my vote unequivocally…and I’m a registered Democrat. Senator Hutchinson has been a wonderful lawmaker here in Texas, and she would have been a wonderful Vice-President. What WAS McCain thinking?

I so hope McCain brings Ayers and Acorn up. He absolutely must rise to the very carefully baited trap that has been set.
The moment he does it, his campaign is OVER.
This moment in time is all about the economy, it will just prove how absolutely out of touch he is with the real America, not the cray right wingnuts Palin appeals to.
Posted by: Bring it | October 15, 2008, 2:33 pm 2:33 pm
I believe Palin is purposely trying to undermine McCain. Think about it, have you ever seen a presidential VP candidate admonish their running mate in the press the way Palin has? It’s been said she will do anything to anyone to get ahead and I believe it.
The rabid, foaming at the mouth right wing segment of the GOP base relish, nasty, violent attacks and lies whether they are true or not. It is this segment that adores Palin and she wants to hang onto her fans – especially if McCain/palin don’t win the election.
If Mccain doesn’t attack tonight he will be excoriated by the extreme right wing base and I bet Palin will secretly be leading the pack

Sarah Palin is an unethical liar, anyone who believes anything that comes out of her Pitbull brain is just as unethical. The investigation showed her to be one. Her telling McCain to get in Obamas face is nothing but ashame, he want do this because he has skeletons in his closet that he don’t want unleashed, she has nothing good to say about this country, cause she does not think Alaska should be part of it. She is a big joke(SNL) has proven this,McCain has nothing to offer everything he has come up with has been mentioned by Obama days before, so for you mcCain backers he is like a third grader looking ova the shoulder of a classmate and stilling answers and calling them his own. He is no better than the Bush Administration putting something out there and only acting after the public goes on an outrage to what was said or done. Shameful McShame he is a copycat and Palin is his dog she calls herself a PITBULL with lipstick most pit bulls I know has a much bigger bite, it’s an insult to pitbulls for her to call herself one. It is so apparent that he is not a strong, capable leader that his VP choice and his brother are worried he doesn’t come off as a strong leader. She can not see attacking Obama on those issues is going to ignite hatred and racism in the country. As a Republican I admit that I was somewhat disappointed in Senator McCain’s VP choice. Although she is “articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking” lady that gives a great speech clearly she is not yet prepared to be President of the United States. It really scares me to think that we might end up with someone with so little experience running the country. Unfortunately I don’t think either John McCain or Joe Biden did a very good job of selecting a truly qualified running mate.
However Sarah Palin is not running for President. John McCain is and he has over forty years of honorable service to our country. Four years ago Barack Obama was an Illinois state senator and Sarah Palin was an Alaskan Oil and Gas Commissioner. The mere fact that Barack Obama has to defend his experience against Sarah Palin should make everyone realize that neither of them is currently qualified to be President of the United States. Maybe Sarah Palin’s real role in this campaign is to point out how utterly ridiculous it would be to elect Barack Obama President of the United States.

Did you shove an old women in a wheel chair who was waiting to speak to you about her son who was a POW during the Vietnam War? Everyone has skeletons in their closet. What we need from these two guys who are running for the President of the USA is which one of them has any real solutions for our country. This is what we should be focusing on. Not who is more dirty than the other. The reason our country is in the sh— is because we have been asleep while sleazy politicians have been robbing our. We all need to get involve on a daily basis instead of spending so much watch baseball with the boys and going out shopping with girls. You soccer moms need to spend more time getting involve with your local gov’t for your kids sake, instead driving your kids all over town to play a game that they should be playing everyday on the street in front of their house with all the other kids. Soccer is not a complicated game. People make the game complicated. Life is not that complicated. People make life complicated. Why do people make things so complicated? Because people in general lack common sense. Wake America before it’s to late.

Palin is undermining McCain. She doesn’t care about supporting him. This is all about rehabilitating her national profile for 2012. Right now, she’s probably extremely worried about what’s going on in Alaska. I believe the powers that be in that state are setting the stage to get rid of her once her term is over. And, after watching how Biden debated her, every local Alaskan politican will have a clearer picture about how to best her in a debate format. Trust me, that’s all that’s on her mind right now is how solid her base is in the state of Alaska and what opposition forces are being created to counter her in that state that could ruin a future national run or even another race within her state. McCain is history as far as she is concerned.

But realistically and based on american ideals and origional and moderated foundation I will go red!
Keep generalizing and not realizing that we live in a country that is free and affords opportunity for small and big business that affords jobs and opportunity for most. We live in an age where people expect and nothing is enough. Age of Reality is upon us. Either candidate has to ansewer the same questions. Bi-partisanship and reform. Say it with me…but then again most blue votes dont even know what this means unfortunatly…I have been blue for most of my life but not on voting day.

America is made up with Average people and we are not voting for Obama. Bush didn’t like, McCain is not a liar. Obama is a liar because he told American people he was not associated with Acorn and we know he was and is and have the information at hand. Same with Ayers, who hosted his first political fund raiser in his home, working on boards with him, and even going on retreats. You can hardly say, someone you are on a retreat with is just some guy in the neighborhood as Obama claims. Obama would not agree to any TV debates, unless an agreement, not to talk about his associations and history was eliminated.
His history is questionable and he has absolutely no experience in leadership, he is simply what his bio says. “A community Organizer” and in his case, he was a recipient of big funds from Acorn and a member of the Jeremiah Wright congregation. Imagine what Obama campaign would say about a GOP candidate with such reputation???

Republicans – rally your base all you want but it’s going to take far more than just the base to win this and you all know it and so far voters from all parties are turned off by this desperate Republican party, but as long as you guys are united in the end while going down in flames together, I guess that’s the best you can hope for.

The best thing that McCain has done in his life for this country is get Palin out in front of us now. She might have been formidable had she had proper mentoring and political guidance. As it is and lucky for us, she was too stupid to understand that she wasn’t ready for the national stage.
Thank God for maverickyness!

I love these people who rant and rave that Sarah Palin is not qualified to be President and then tell us they are going to vote for a man who has about the same level of experience. Sounds sexist to me. When Sarah Palin makes a mistake you jump all over it but when Joe Biden does even dumber things you let it pass. Let’s break the “color barrier” but keep that “glass ceiling” intact.

It’s time for the American people to get it right and NOT vote for McCain-Palin, instead vote for change. It’s time for this country to turn the page and seek a new and better future for ourselves and our children. It’s time for REAL change in Washington, it’s time to elect Barack Obama for president !
Obama-Biden are the wiser and stronger team to solve the crucial challenges we have in this nation and abroad !

Gotta luv your right-wingers that elevated this bozo up with their hype. Rush Limbaugh and Anne Colture said no way on some good picks McCain had in mind. So the Maverick, whimps out and presented Ms. Palin as the new crowd pleaser.
They all cheered and cheered, cuz she as much to the right as Obama is to da left.
Now that America gotten past the pretty face and legs we find she more of an airhead than anything else, soo sad, too bad.
Hopfully, what this really taught all the voters is McCain can’t pick em and he’s not really the Maverick. So if he were to somehow win this, his cabinet would be full of mirror images of Palin, Cheney, and Gramm types to please his base at America’s expense. I can see us wishin Bush were still president in about year or two. We’ll also be prayin he doesn’t kick the bucket, cuz we’d all be dead moose with Ms. Palin in the drivers seat.
McCarthy is alive and well… he’s just prettier and using the word “Terrorist” in place of “Communist”.

Ayers has not done any harm in 40 years, Bush has bombed the economy in 8 years. We are becoming a third world country with low paying jobs and no leadership in place. We are in loosing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is no win in Iraq. There is no magic day, when the victory will take place. It is time to bring our troops home safely. The Neocons took over the once intellectual party of the Republicans. The good news for the human race, there aren’t enough of them to elect Mooselini and gramps.
Sanity, logic and intelligence will once again reign and maybe, just maybe we can get this country back on track.

Tough call – Obama just lies his way out of it even though the now numerous radical pieces fit together!
Obama calls poor judgment and lying just being bone-headed!
Also, Obama is seldom original but nobody bothers to check!
“Rules for Radicals” and “Reveille for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky were good source books for Obama’s grassroots organization and speeches!
They are an interesting read, and you will recognize ideology as well as themes and phrases that Obama has used!
Remember: Saul Alinsky was a Marxist grassroots organizer whose real claim to fame was as strategist for anti-establishment ’60s radicals and revolutionaries.
Obama said he learned the most from Alinsky! :(

I am not voting for a pair of ovaries. I find intellect and curiosity to be extremely important traits and unfortunately Palin does not seem to possess either one of those qualities.
It is an INSULT to compare Hillary to Palin. I am frankly infuriated with the comparisons and suspect Hillary Clinton is too. All women were not created equally.

Bimbo Palin has a lot of poison in her. If one wants to play the absurd guilt by association game, we have the McCain’s Keating Five Scandal and the McCain role in the Iran Contra Scandal linking him to ex-Nazis, and now we have William Timmons, the Washington lobbyist who John McCain named to head his presidential transition team, who aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime. Palin is married to a known secessionist and her preacher practices witchcraft exorcism. Her daughter is marrying a known drug addict. Todd Palin’s Alaskan Independence Party hates America. Do these discussions move the national debate forward? A resounding No!! Rev. Wright, Bill, Ayers are an obsession of the right wing and nothing more. People want answers to the financial crisis not meaningless innuendo. McCain is rightfully losing in virtually every battle ground state because he is unable to focus on issues other than smears.

A great number of former Democrats have been turned off! They don’t want to be identified with angry, hostile, name calling ordinary people like the Democratic Party attracts. A. Lincoln’s 2nd inaugural address is something every American should read, and perhaps the 1st one, as well. Next, read the Journals of the Discovery Expedition, then you will be prepared to discuss America with the more gentile and wise Americans!
Send your children to private schools or home school them, because they are failing in our public schools where the agenda of Wm. Ayers is taught.
America is not mean spirited, just the democrats.

Bill: Maybe you ought to take a gander at McCain’s proposed financial plan. He wants to give tax breaks to the rich (via his capital gains reduction), and encourage people to take money out of their 401K programs (via taking away the fee paid for early withdrawal). Neither of these things will help the middle class OR small business owners.
His medical plan will TAX us on our benefits, and will, more than likely force more people onto the the rolls of the uninsured. $5000 for a couple to buy medical insurance is nothing – the average medical plan costs $13K a year. Medical insurance companies will find any reason possible to keep from offering you insurance, or to charge you $1000 a month in premium, if you have to buy medical insurance for yourself, rather than receive it through your employer.
John McCain does NOT have the interests of the middle class at heart. He and his running mate have spewed hatred and discontent throughout the last couple of weeks of their campaign, and as a consequence we are seeing people behaving as they did in the late ’50′s and early ’60′s. Maybe you aren’t old enough to remember segregation, and the work that it took to overcome that hateful time, but I am, and I don’t want to see us return to that.
Palin’s husband belonged to a secessionist organization, which disqualifies him for any kind of job that would ask him about his allegiance to this country. She spoke glowingly at their convention this summer.
There are so many reasons not to elect the McCain/Palin ticket. Get educated, please.

How is Joe Biden qualified when he thinks President Roosevelt went on TV after the 1929 crash to calm people down and after 36 years in the Senate doesn’t know that the Vice President presides over the Senate? When discussing the American Revolution, a Scottish-born British lawyer and writer Alexander Fraser Tytler (1747 – 1813), was attributed as saying. “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.” Americans reached that moment during FDR’s administration and have been tumbling down the path to self destruction every since. Today over half of the households in America receive a regular monthly check from the government and nearly half (44%) pay no income taxes at all. Just how long do you think we can continue on this path?

foxladynews,
You’re an idiot. Give me a break. Who is out on the campaign trail promoting hate? Sarah Palin with McCain’s blessing. She is the epitome of mean spirited. Anyone with children and any sense (and we all know which line your belong in) knows William Ayers has nothing to do with Obama or the problems in our education system. The Republican party as a general rule, does not believe in supporting education programs (case in point, John McCain’s voting record) and “No Child Left Behind”, a Bush program was never properly funded.

Tom Jefferson, don’t speak for someone you know little about, becausee the REAL Thomas Jefferson passed a law during his presidency, “the Bible must be taught in every classroom of America”.. You don’t know history very well, huh?
And, separation of Church and State is not in the Constitution and what he referred to was a reply to say “We will not make this a nation of one religion, but free practice of all religions. I am surprised since the Barbary Coast war with the muslims were during his Presidency. Have you read the Constitution and other Archives of American laws? I know someone that has collected 70,000 original letters, documents and historical evidence to back up my claims. My guess is you don’t, nor do you have any printed documents.

Small businesses are not CORPORATIONS as a rule.
Let me redefine—America is capitalist for the poor and small businesses and socialist for BIG CORPORATIONS. Deny that after the ridiculous bailout they have just received!!
Besides Obama has just come out with a great plan for small business owners to access credit. McCain’s plan, help out the big corps even more.

To put a fine point on it, anyone who has studied Thomas Jefferson in depth (That means beyond high school) you would know that he was a Deist, which means he thought God was dead. So to say he was an atheist is perhaps going too far, but he did not believe in an actively participating God.
Most of our founding fathers were not overly religious and that is why we have the separation of church and state, they knew how dangerous church rule was and were trying to ensure it never happened again.

Just because atheists don’t believe in the sanctity of Marriage and Life, doesn’t make T.Jefferson an atheist and if you would learn the truth from his quotes and passing the law to teach the Bible in every classroom, I would give you attention, again. Obviously, you are a public school student without knowledge of American History. Read the “Discovery Expedition Journals” for openers, they are interesting and will qualify you more on the Native Americans, later you can read the GENUINE DOCUMENTS OF AND BY THOMAS JEFFERSON. Next, you will tell us the Adams and Washington were atheists? Washington’s soldiers wrote much about his prayers on his knees every morning during the Crossing of the Deleware. Not the new documentaries on TV, the Journals and Diaries of the actual men who fought with Washington. Cheers, come back with education.

I went to my doctor the other day. I was picking on him that his taxes would go up if Obama was elected. He didn’t crack a smile and just said I guess I’ll have to raise my rates. The people Obama plans to raise taxes on are our doctors, dentists, lawyers, pharmacists, and other professionals and successful small business owners who will simply raise their rates to cover their increased taxes. Think about it everyone. Who really pays for those tax increases?
Obama’s tax plan is to raise taxes on successful professionals, small business owners and investors. Those are the people who create most of the new jobs in America. Obama also says he will give a tax cut to 95% of Americans. How can he do that when more than 40% of Americans pay no taxes in the first place? Taxing upper income people and then sending money to people who didn’t pay anything to begin with is not a tax cut — it is the socialist policy of income redistribution.

Big corporations, did I not clarify that?
Small businesses and BIG corporations have little in common.
Besides, you missed the point. The government is bailing out BIG CORPORATIONS. Small businesses get to weather the storm on their own. Capitalism vs. socialism.
Obama wants to help small business owners access credit during this economic downturn. ACCESS CREDIT, NOT BAIL THEM OUT.
Now define socialism.

Just prior to the bombing of the New York City Police Department in 1970, Bernadette Dorn spoke for the Weather Underground, saying, “Our job is to lead white kids into armed revolution. . . . Ever since SDS became revolutionary, we’ve been trying to show how it is possible to overcome the frustration and impotence that comes from trying to reform the system. . . . Tens of thousands have learned that protest and marches won’t do it. Revolutionary violence is the only way [quoted in Powers, 1971, p. 212].”
In November 2006 at the World Education Forum in Caracas hosted by dictator Hugo Chavez Bill Ayers told the great humanitarian Chavez: “Teaching invites transformations, it urges revolutions large and small. La educacion es revolucion.” It is that form of socialist revolution that Ayers, Dorn, and Obama, are trying to bring to America. If elected Obama will probably appoint bill Ayers Secretary of Education.

It looks like Obama will win this one, and Palin’s future largely depends on how Obama performs. If, as the Obamaphiles confidently predict, he enters the ranks of the great presidents, being governor of Alaska will be her highest office. If Obama turns out to be a disaster as president, as the Obamaphobes expect, she has an excellent chance of following him as president, in part because a poor performance by Obama will reduce the credibility of those who find fault with everything she has done while being unable to see any problems with Obama.

Martin also said Sen. John McCain’s vice presidential running mate has been running around the country, firing up her — yes, her, and not necessarily McCain’s — loyal supporters by blasting Sen. Barack Obama for “palling around with terrorists” and demanding that the American people know exactly when he learned of the past of 1960s radical William Ayers.
She has stoked the crowds by saying, “This is not a man who sees America the way that you and I see America.” We all know what that is designed to do: Portray Obama as a foreigner who isn’t as American as she. Or you. Or Joe Six-pack, the hockey mom, soccer mom, Wal-Mart mom, NASCAR dad and the other coded words she uses regularly.
But what is truly pathetic is that Palin talks tough, but is really scared of facing her own issues.

Teddy Davis and Imtiyaz Delawala As reporters, you have most definitely been schooled in the Academy of the Obamanation. The picture you chose to print for this article of Gov. Palin proves you have a sense of humor but also proves your complete ignorance of unbiased journalism. The reporting of what Gov. Palin actually said reveals your penchant for the dramatic and sensational when compared to the title and picture of this article. Shame on you for your unethical style of reporting. You fit into ABC’s and the rest of the liberal media’s graveyard of journalism’s death knell.

This Traditional Islamic law shows criminal intent to commit bodily harm and death.
Traditional Islamic law mandates the death penalty for Muslims who leave Islam, in accordance with Muhammad’s command: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.” This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, although there is some disagreement over whether the law applies only to men, or to women also.

Let me answer the 11 questions asked by jon from maryland about Sarah Palin since, they, like so many other wqquestions here, are quite easy to answer (all of the information is readily available on the web from a variety of sources for anyone actually interested in the truth) and they represent a good selection of anti-Palin talking points:
“1. The Branchflower report found you had violated Alaska state ethics law in your dismissal of Mr. Moneghan. Why did you lie and say you had been cleared of any ethical wrongdoing? Was is a lie, or are you just ignorant?”
The Branchflower report said that she did not break the law they had the authority to invesitgate and asserts (but does not prove) that she did break a law that they have no authority to judge her on. Basically, they cleared her of what they should have been investigating and, failing to find her guilty, so they claimed that she broke another law that’s still under investigation. If they proper authorities find her innocent of breaking that law, will you believe them? Of course you won’t because you’ve already decided she’s guilty.
“2. What was your husband’s involvement in the Alaska Independence Party? Why would you tape a greeting for the meeting of a Secessionist Party?”
You mean the “secessionist party” that elected a candidate governor in 1990 who then made no attempt to succeed? Maybe she recorded a greeting for them because they are the third largest party in Alaska and aren’t all successionists? Are you equally interested in Barack Obama’s involvement with the New Party, a socialist party, in the mid-1990s that both he and the New Party have tried to hide?
“3. Why did you cut funds in the Alaska state budget for unwed mothers? Why did you cut educational funds for special needs children?”
Already been debunked. These are all fake Democrat cuts in that she simply decreased the increases from what was requested. In real dollar amounts, she increased the funding for the home for unwed mothers and the educational funding for special needs children substantially.
“4. Why did you suddenly stop using your line about saying “thanks but no thanks to the bridge to nowhere”? Is it because it wasn’t true? Then why did you say it in the first place?”
Because it wasn’t clear cut enough for a sound bite and the press is circling like shark. The bottom line is that she cancelled the bridge rather than saddling the Alaskan taxpayers wit it as the cost balooned and the Federal government decided not to pay for it and she vetoed a whole lot of other spending, too.
“5. Why did you allow, when you were mayor of Wasilla, women who had been raped to pay for their own rape examination kits?”
This is another one of those “shoot first and ask questions later” talking points. There is no evidence that any woman has ever had to pay for a rape kit in Wasilla (and you can be certain the press and Obama campaign has been looking) and it was a police chief who opposed the town paying. Why? He thought that the rapist should be held financially responsible for paying, not the victim.
“6. Why did you ask the Wasilla librarian about removing books from the library? Why did you subsequently attempt to have her fired?”
Perhaps she asked because her constituents were asking her about it? She was a mayor with constituents. The librarian told her that it would be inappropriate and that the books come from a standardized list and you’ll notice that no books were ever actually removed (again, you can be that the press and Obama campaign has been looking).
Why did she try to fire the librarian? She was the girlfriend of the police chief that Palin also fired for reasons related to small town politics and undermining her authority, hence the whole issue of talking about the librarian’s loyalty. She never actually fired the librarian because she reversed her decision based on a constituent backlash.
“7. Why did you give an important agricultural job to a high school friend despite
her obvious lack of qualifications?”
Has the high school friend been unable to perform her duties in that position?
“8. Why did you charge Alaskan taxpayers a per diem rate for nights you spent at home? Why did you charge them travel expenses for your children?”
Because she legally could and, overall, charged less than most of her predicessors. What you need to remember is that Juneau is not reachable by roadway which means that to go to or leave the state capital essentially means flying in and out.
“9. Why did you think it was appropriate for your husband to have a desk and phone in the Alaskan executuve offices, specifically for him to call people and try to convince them Trooper Wooten should be fired?”
Why does the first lady have an office with a phone in the White House?
“10. Why did you attend five colleges in six years pursuant to your journalism degree?”
Because she was poor and taking credits at a junior college is not unusual for struggling studients. The more important question is how did Obama get into Columbia and Harvard and how did he pay for it, especially in light of Percy Sutton’s unsolicited claims that Khalid Al-Mansour asked him to write a letter to help get Obama into Harvard and was raising money to send him there. I think that’s a far more interesting situation than Sarah Palin’s, don’t you think, yet the mainstream press has no interest in it. Why is that?
“11. Why do you keep stating in your speeches that Senator Obama doesn’t view America “like you and I do”? Are you trying to stir up false xenophobia and racism?”
No, she’s trying to point out that he’s a liberal socialist but apparently any criticism of Obama is going to be called racism by his supporters.

I am not voting for Obama because of his lack of experience, his liberal “tax and spend” voting record and I am afraid that if he is elected he will surround himself with radicals — as he seems to have done in the past. However these arguments about Obama’s birth and religion are absurd and were debunked months ago. His birth certificate has been posted upon the web and verified by the State of Hawaii. He has publicly stated his faith many times and was a member of a racist Afro-centrist Christian Church for 20 years. Even if he was a Muslim in his youth Christians should be shouting halleluiah at his conversion.
But I am concerned about his association with an unrepentant terrorist like Ayers and his lying about it to the American people. If it was just Obama’s close association with one radical individual maybe it would not be such a big deal. But Obama has a long history of associating with radicals who seem to despise the American way of life — Bill Ayers, Bernadette Dorn, Jeremiah Wright, Frank Davis, Rashid and Mona Khalidi, Michael Pfleger, Raila Odinga, Mike Klonsky, and who knows who else.

Since she is good at proclaiming that the American people need to know who Barack Obama is — an attempt to paint him as a shady figure who might occupy the White House — the American people deserve to hear Palin answer if her husband, Todd, a former member of the Alaska Independence Party, agreed with its founder, who wanted to secede from the union.
Is there anything more anti-American than wanting to sever ties with the country?

gman asks “Is there anything more anti-American than wanting to sever ties with the country?” The reason behind our Founding Fathers adding the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights was not just to have a “well armed militia” in case of a foreign invasion but also to protect citizens from the federal government usurping states’ and individuals’ rights.

There seems to be a little bit of discrepancy over the issue of Barrack Hussein Obama being a Muslim vs. a Christian and the Obama Campaign has put up a website to curb such accusations and dispel them as myths, slander or lies. Indeed, Barrack Obama may not feel like a Muslim, but his name is a Muslim Name and his father was is Muslim, therefore in the spirit of fairness and by tradition, he would be a Muslim by definition.
Yes, that is how Islamic tradition does it. Obama is a Muslim, because his father was a Muslim, that is just how things work in that culture and religion. Similarly, if your mother is Jewish, you are automatically Jewish by the traditions of that religion. Obama Hussein Barrack, look at the name there, it’s a Muslim name, he was born a Muslim. What could be more Muslim than that?

In spite of the determined attempts of the Obama handlers to obfuscate the details concerning Obama’s subversive background, more and more Americans are seeing thru the Obama charade; and, are making an objective appraisal based on their own intelligence of the historical facts which are irrefutable. Obama is neither Christian nor Muslim. Unless he has had one of his very frequent epiphanies in the last week or two, he is a disciple and practitioner of Black Liberation Theology whose tenants have been amply articulated by Jeremiah Wright and James Cone. For 20yrs. Obama, under the tutorial of the fanatical Reverend Wright, immersed himself and his family in Black Liberation Theology, a Marxist derivative which rejects Christianity; and, which professes that the White race is equivalent to the Devil. It’s amazing that anyone would be shocked at Obama’s perverted view of the Bible, concerning which Obama recently publicly mocked Jesus Christ’s “Sermon On The Mount”. Rev. Wright’s mentor, Black Liberation theologian, James Cone, in his book “For My People” states: “The Christian faith does not possess in its nature the means for analyzing the structure of capitalism. Marxism, as a tool of social analysis, can disclose the gap between appearance and reality, and thereby help Christians to see how things really are.” It is this logic, reinforced by his parents who were avowed Marxists, which has schooled Obama to seek economic parity in America thru income redistribution; i.e. Marxist Socialism; and, is an overriding theme of his campaign. Obama’s repeated references to “economic parity” and “social justice” are simply Marxist jargon for “Taking more from you and giving it to others for the common good”. Further, noone should be surprised at Obama’s proclamation that American is NOT a Christian Nation. This from a man who is a fanatical advocate of the abhorrent procedure of partial-birth-abortions; and, the infanticide of babies who survive a blotched abortion, referring to them as “Medical waste.” Although the Obama campaign has painstakingly attempted to lay a smokescreen to confuse the past religious associations of their candidate, hopefully a Christian America will send Obama an unmistakable message in November. It’s what you get with an un-vetted candidate whose only skill is reciting a text from a teleprompter while even Jesse Jackson admits Obama arrogantly looks down his nose and “talks down to the audience.” A characteristic which was front and center in Obama’s comments about bitter folks in Small Town America who “Cling to their religion.” Posted at The Washington Times Blog

Lastly, don’t you think the self-described maverick needs to own up to what really happened with the firing of the commissioner in Alaska? She was declared by a special investigator to have been within her rights in firing the commissioner, but she was blasted for abuse of power and violating the state’s ethics act.
So what did she say in a conference call with Alaska reporters — who were not allowed by the McCain camp to ask follow-up questions? That she was cleared of all wrongdoing, legally and ethically.
That’s right. She repeated over and over and over an absolute lie, and we are supposed to say, “Hey, it’s all fine. She winks at us. We love her hockey mom schtick. Don’t worry about that abuse of power thing.”

Barack Obama wants strict gun control. That is the first step to take away freedoms of the Bill of Rights. The only reason to remove any freedoms from the Bill of Rights is control the population. If strict gun control were to happen, that would leave the police, the military and criminals with the guns. The law-observing citizens would no longer be part of the militia.

I’ll tell you something “Jack”, most other countries are educated as equally about other counties as their own around the world and moreso than the U.S. educates its own students – that is a fact. I agree with Aussie, I am Canadian, and we are in hysterics (the laughter kind) at this Palin pick; she is so intellectually deficient she wouldn’t be elected to run a little town in Baffin Island. She is uneducated and unprepared. She has incited such hatred and racism, it’s despicable. There are some of us, believe it or not Jack who probably follow your politics more than you. Palin is not qualified by a mile to be VP of the the U.S. – I’m surprised she is a governor – that’s pretty funny. God help all of you, your international relations and the world (to have her inflicted on the rest of us) if she and McCain are elected – one heart beat away – a very ireesponsible choice and poor judgement. She’ll be “wagin’ wars on those terrorists when they rear their ugly head doggone it” for a decade. Imagine all that power – she will be like a drunken sailor. Just because someone isn’t able to vote in this election does not disqualify that person from their opinion nor does it make them ignorant of the issues. Please avoid ethnocentricity for your own sake. It only serves to magnify your ignorance.

Independent Voters = Reblican,
If your dad is Christian or your mother is a christian, does that automatically make you a Christian? The man said he is not a Muslim. He said he is a Christian. He was not raised by his father.
Republicans can’t have both ways. Reverend Wright church is form of Christian denomination. His theories were not the best but it was founded on the Bible and Christian values not Muslim values. He went to a Christian church but he is Muslim. Come on, choose one. People are using both against the man. Choose one. A Christian that attended Reverend Wright’s church or a Muslim. He can’t be both.

Say it ain’t so, Mrs. Cheney.
But in fact, the Vice-President’s wife revealed this bombshell in her recent book, Blue Skies, No Fences. According to Lynne Cheney, the current veep and the Illinois Democrat Senator, who wants to be the next president, are distant cousins — eighth cousins, to be exact.

Independent Voters = Republican,
The Middle East has many Christians who are persecuted for serving Jesus. They are not the regular Michael Smith or Thomas Williams, Hockey moms and Joe 6 packs. ABC news had an article about the Christians in Iraq. So, these people are not Christians because their parents were Muslim. Come on.
Jesus/God accepts anyone and everyone. God does not discriminate. Christianity is for anyone who wants to accept Christ. The name or background does not determine if you a Christian or a Muslim. If Obama said he is a Christian, he is Christian. Move on.

Yes, it was still founded on the Bible and Christian values. It is not founded on the Koran. Obviously, the church added more to it to their beliefs. It is different but every church is different. The pastor is preaching about Jesus not Allah

Obama, is way too nice, and obviously not confrontational. He has been very civil to both Palin and McCain who are obviously very desperate. Palin is NOT qualified to be the President of the USA (Christian or non-Christian), and Obama knows that, I don’t know why he let her off so easily when asked if she was qualified to be the President. Absolutely NOT!!! McCain on the otherhand will not address the issues being asked, he is more interested in pointing fingers and discrediting Obama with false accusations. McCain and Palin have not campaigned gracefully as Christians with their negative ads. Obama is also a Christian let us not forget that. That said, does the Bible not talk against fornication, yet Palin’s daughter got pregnant, so please do not use the Christian values to vote her into office, because it is not in the talk, it is in the walk. How about the man that got fired because he refused to fire her brother-in-law. How Godly is that! That does not portray Christ. McCain is a desperate loser!!! Obama, is way too nice, he did not go after McCain. He should have! Obviously, Obama is very diplomatic and certainly fit to be the President of the USA. McCain is too desperate, and very irrational right now, he is not making much sense!

I also noticed that Obama changed some of his positions yet again from the last debates. I’ve gotten a deluge of calls and mails from friends and family. They all thought McCain hit a home run.

SARAH Needs to make more babies!
Recent research at Richmond University has shown that birth of a baby boost the intelligence level of their mother.
Researchers studied the data collected from experiments on laboratory rodents. These experiments showed that mother rats become braver and faster at finding food after their babies are born.
Earlier studies had shown that pregnant women suffer a decrease in mental capacity, dubbed “baby brain”. But the recent study claims that moms-to-be rewire their brains to cope with motherhood — and their intelligence soars when the babies are actually born.
Lead researcher, Dr Craig Kinsley, professor of neuroscience at the University of Richmond said that there is a significant increase in mental capacity as a result of the hormonal changes during child birth and breastfeeding. These hormonal fluctuations could be life-long, providing protection from degenerative diseases apart from the improved mental agility

I’m sure Palin, like other parents in her position, would prefer that her daughter’s boyfriend finish school, just as I’m sure she would have preferred her daughter not get pregnant at 17. Some things are beyond one’s reach. He is not her son, it is up to his parent’s to have instilled those values and ensure his education.

The American people feel differently, of course, but if your reality feels better for you, go ahead and go with that. In terms of the REAL world, the score is official: Obama/Biden: 4 McCain/Palin: 0 Can’t get much more decisive than that.
Posted by: Dantheguy9 | October 15, 2008, 8:39 pm 8:39 pm
It’s obvious that the criteria set forth by the Republicans for finding a vice presidential running mate for McCain were, in order of importance:
#1 A woman
#2 Young
#3 A “maverick”
#4 At least some political experience
Other points, possibly including overall intelligence, may have just been overlooked. I think they were too quick to accept the first woman that came close to meeting those requirements, to the detriment of far more qualified women that must be a part of the Republican party.

And pretty much everyone else has called McCain a lier.. even Time magazine which said:
“McCain’s lies have ranged from the annoying to the sleazy, and the problem is in both degree and kind. His campaign has been a ceaseless assault on his opponent’s character and policies, featuring a consistent—and witting—disdain for the truth. Even after 38 million Americans heard Obama say in his speech at the Democratic National Convention that he was open to offshore oil-drilling and building new nuclear-power plants, McCain flatly said in his acceptance speech that Obama opposed both. Normal political practice would be for McCain to say, “Obama says he’s ‘open to’ offshore drilling, but he’s always opposed it. How can we believe him?” This persistence in repeating demonstrably false charges is something new in presidential politics.”
http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1842030,00.html
And we saw him tonight continue to repeat the same lies, even though they have been repeatedly proven false since back when Sen. Clinton used them. Sad.

Palin is a backward, uneducated, self-serving, homophobic, creationist hatemonger — the prototypical anti-intellectual. She is far guiltier than Obama of each of the accusations she has leveled against him. She brings up Ayers? What about her husband being a long time member of the Alaska Independence Party? Palin brings up Wright? What about her close ties to the Wasilla Assembly of God? The most absurd of Palin’s accusations is that Obama is too inexperienced. Obama has a bachelor degree from Columbia and a Harvard JD; as a sophomore, he was editor of the Harvard Law review; he served 2 terms in the Illinois Senate and 4 years in the US Senate, and he has been a lecturer in constitutional law at U. of Chicago for 12 years; he’s been a practicing attorney and he’s been on the ground fighting for the poor and downtrodden and for civil rights. He’s clearly brilliant and extremely articulate.
Which of Palin’s stunning achievements should we pit against that…her Miss Congeniality award? That “game winning basket” in high school? The time she spent bouncing around 3rd tier community colleges before finally eking out a BS in communications-journalism in Idaho? Her stint as a sports announcer in Anchorage? Serving as mayor of a town of 6,000 people? The fact that she hadn’t left the US and didn’t even have a passport until 2007?
I don’t see how any of that qualifies her to be governor of Alaska let alone a potential US President. With her background, and the abuse of power scandal still looming over her, she is a dangerous liability to her party and country. Palin is like a character in a Hollywood doomsday-scenario political thriller. She is a myopic divisive force in American politics; a reactionary and a hater of all things intellectual. There isn’t enough Prozac in the world to ease the anxiety people would feel is she were ever to set foot in the White House.

Of course, you probably read Huffington post and Daily Kos and watch the National Barack Channel pmsNBC, so the liberals there are telling you Obama won, big surprise! If you are counting the 4th debate as Saddleback, McCain, over whelmingly took that one, even the liberal morons can’t argue with that one. The 1st two debates were a draw according to the driveby media, so in translation, that means McCain won those too.

Palin LIED, and said there was nothing to trooper-gate. John McCain should not
let instigators make him show his anger management problems. Post traumatic stress syndrome is not what we need in the White House.
Senator Obama behved very presidential,
not to mention that fact that although McCain has been in politics for 26 years and changed nothing, Senator Obama is far more educated.
Palin’s husband whom she depends on when in office as Mayor or Governor
is a high school dropout and Palin herself is waiting for Putin to rear his head. What a nutjob.
Put her on T.V. but not the White House.
McCain should remember we are at war in two different countries and have seen enough violence.

I think McCain is on the losing end because he doesn’t have it in him to say whatever everyone wants to hear. I don’t see McCain’s attacks as having to do with Obama being a terrorist or not. I saw it as having to do with challenging Obama’s denial. If you recall that’s why Clinton was impeached – not because of an affair – but because of lying about it. The state of the economy appears to be drawing voters’ attention away from the issue of character – but isn’t that a basic requirement? Are we so desparate for immediate economic relief that we no longer care who this person is we put in the White House? Being a lawyer, I see in Obama a master spinner – the kind of guy OJ Simpson would have wanted on his dream team – calm, cool, arrogant – but no real heartfelt passion, like McCain’s. Obama is even keep about everything – but McCain gets fired up – because he has so much experience that gives him a perspective Obama cannot achieve at this point in his career. When McCain speaks, he’s really thinking about the truth of the situation, Obama does not give me the same impression. He’s mastered the art of using the right language, the right timing, the right appearance to win over the masses – like a performer – American Idol. I am troubled by how many representations Obama has made to date on which he’s gone back – here are three: 1) THEN – He said he’ll bring the troops home from Iraq; NOW – We need to move the troop to Afghanistan AND stand up for people’s rights around the world, regardless of US interest – (how, sir? doesn’t that mean more of our military involvement in other people’s countries?); What happened to his plan to bring them home? I guess noone cares about that anymore so he gets away with it. 2) THEN – I won’t go outside public funding to run my campaing; NOW – he did – why is it immaterial that he goes back on his word when his word is all he has to offer right now?; and his latest today 3)I’m not associated with ACORN (also said by Biden) – truth – his campaign contribute $800K to ACORN. Yes, the state of the economy is critical – but if the great economists on Wallstreet don’t yet have the answer, what do you expect form the presidential candidates. He’s going to have to get in there (whoever it is) seek the advice of the best economic minds, and then act based on the facts. Obama concerns me because he says this a lot “let me be clear about what I said”. (I want a quarter for every time he says that) What is that? To those who believe that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, so far Obama has shown only that he says whatever everyone wants to hear and he’s good at making it believable, that he associates himself with questionable characters, oh and this is a new one I noticed tonight – he excuses his conduct by saying that others did it too – didn’t we all learn early that if Jimmy jumps off a bridge does that mean we do it too? – Tonight Obama defended his association with Ayres by saying that other people did it too – including a Republican. But I’m not making a decision on whether that Republican can be my president – I’m evaluating you, sir. Another thing he does is he takes what he criticizes about McCain and turns around and makes it his own – but now it’s ok because he said it? For example he criticizes McCain for wanting to give tax breaks to businesses yet then I saw him speak about giving tax breaks to businesses in order to create jobs – that’s what McCain and Palin have been saying all along!! Obama does not seem capable of coming up with any original ideas. He seems to wait for the other candidates to make a statement and then he takes a position in reaction to that – if he’s got a gift it is that he senses what people want to hear – makes him appealing to many but is that the only skill a president needs? McCain, on the other hand, seems to draw from his own life experience to react and draw conclusions about what is the next step. What is Obama’s appeal to you?

I believe Obama said to his supporters in NV to “argue and get in their face” about converting voters. What a guy….can you imagine if McCain ever said the same?
Why all the double standards this election? Oh, that’s right Obama is black.
Palin rocks….I think she’s tougher than McCain….she has handled the attacks better than any of them. Biden gaffes/cries and gets away with no media coverage…Obama gets a pass always, and Palin can take it. She will make a great VP.
McCain has taken the high road with Wright and said he won’t go there. I would…..it’s a DEAL BREAKER WITH MILLIONS OF AMERICANS.
HILLARY SUPPORTER FOR McCAIN/PALIN.

– challenging Obama’s denial –
Denial? How many times does he have to say yes, I know the guy and have worked with him in the past. Did you not understand it the first time he said it back in the debates with Sen. Clinton? What exactly is he denying?
– For example he criticizes McCain for wanting to give tax breaks to businesses yet then I saw him speak about giving tax breaks to businesses in order to create jobs –
McCain wants to give large tax breaks to businesses simply because they are businesses. Obama would give them tax cuts if they provide health insurance coverage for their employees.. a cut that would save them and estimaged $140 billion a year. Which one of the two is giving handouts?
– What is Obama’s appeal to you? –
Better tax plan than McCain that would stimulate the economy faster and reduce costs to those who need it most.
Way better health plan that is truely brilliant, compared to deregulating, taxing health care to shift people to private insurance, and giving a fixed tax credit to all regardless of income. Like his tax plan, his health plan favors the wealthy and would actually cause more americans to lose health insurance.
Obamas foriegn policy position has a much better chance at restoring the relationships with friends and allies, and not rushing into wars unless absolutely required.
Obama is far more intelligent and rational than McCain, and his constitutional law expertise is an added bonus..
Want more?

Not holding on to nothing. Just keeping on keeping on, turning more and more former McCain supporters into Obama voters (and I happen to be in one of the most hotly sought states).. probably about 30 today alone.
Cheers!

HILLARY SUPPORTER FOR McCAIN/PALIN? What a fraud you are. You are no Hillary supporter if you support McCain/Palin. Hillary said no Palin, no way, no how. So you’re a fraud when you claim to support Hillary. No you don’t and you never did or you wouldn’t be for someone that Hillary says is no good.

Concerned American – thank you for your response – as I stated in my comment – I get that Obama says what everyone wants to hear – a solution for every problem – but you do get that it’s not that simple – right? I mean I could run for presidnet and say I will solve all your problems, make the schools better, cut taxes, improve relationships with all countries around the world while restoring jobs to America – all I’d have to do is make a wish list and then tell everyone I’ll do that – how can anyone argue with that – God could not argue with that position – that’s why it’s so pie in the sky, false hope raising, untenable position. You do not address my main concern which is that for me Obama, based on his going back on his word so much, is just making more empty promises. What reason do you give that you can trust this man that he won’t go back on his representations and promises when he’s demonstrated repeated penchant for doing just that. I understand you are very much a supporter of Obama – and I get why – the nation needs to believe – I have no intention of changing your mind and taking away your hope – we all need hope to keep going. I am just concerned that people make excuses and overlook warning signs of his character flaws because its too scary to think about what it would mean to challenge it. Just wanted to make sure you understand what I take issue with.

Hello Everyone,
A few points to consider:
We all have to live and work together. When the democratic process becomes name calling we are all tarnished and can’t learn to work together because we are busy defending our positions rather than learning and using the process to come together and make a unified constructive effort for the good of the nation.
Being disrespectful is not funny, it is what we should be teaching our children not to do. Racism should be a part of our past at this point as should the singular glorification of killing other people as an acceptable course of action.
I was a registered republican and believe in the fundamentals of the less federal government is better. However, we have to look at reality, our civil liberties are taken away, corporations are being protected and citizens are being treated like the prolotariate of the story 1984. We are being made slaves, told to work and shop and endure endless taxes being sent off to wars we don’t want while our roads are eroding, our factories are being left behind, our people are being treated so poorly, but the wealthiest Republican’s try to sooth us into letting them have their way with us. They insult all women with selecting Sarah Palin when there are intelligent women who would better represent a wide cross section of the country. We can’t question Rev. Wright because Sarah brings us Rev. Muthee.
I have come to a serious disappointment with the divide between republican principals and their actions in office.
I also have to question people who claim they are pro-life and readily send people to war to kill each other. I find this unsettling, unchristian and question is Christ had a position on the war what he would say to us, and are we listening to Christ teachings or finding a way to make ourselves righteous (rather than right with God).
I don’t like it when people use God, use Jesus name to create a means to an end for their own gain. This is why Jesus gives us the story of the merchants in the temple. Sadly I see that those who have taken over my party are the merchants and I fear that they have brought to reality the rath of God as they call out for his blessing on their greediness and sins.

One thing that McCain forgot to mention. How many tax credits do you get, if two family members are ill. is $5,000 going to cover that family on their health care.

Palin should not have been mayor, govenor nor should be vice president. She is not qualified for any of these. She thinks she is infallible. She left Wasilla in deficit, she abused her power as govenor. Why would Todd need a desk and phone in the govenor’s office. For his personal use??????
She says she is cleared in troopergate, who says? She abused her power.
What has she done for special needs children, the baby is only 5 months old and who is taking care of him.
Her 17 year old daughter, pregnant, yet doesn’t want sex education taught in schools, believes in abstinence. What happened? Doesn’t practice what she preaches.
Wants books pulled from library, and threatens firing the librarian.
Ousted others for ethics – she then should resign govenorship, she’s done the same.
Can’t answer questions on issues, changes subject or avoids the questions. What newspaper does she read? Reads them all???? Simple question, no answer, which is nothing new.
She is power hungry, and not fit to be govenor, vice president or any political office.
Palin needs to grow up, she is not qualified for any vp or pres.
What about the people yelling kill him or terrorist at her rallies, she did absolutely nothing to stop it. Yet, Obama is running dirty campaign.
People – wake up and smell the coffee,
McCain/Palin are not qualified to lead this country, especially with the economy the way it is.

Oh, Sarah, tell us about your expertise on “face.”
And, oh Sarah, tell us about the horrendous danger you put your special needs child in by “flying” back to Alaska to give birth. And tell us how you are exposing this infant with absolutely no immune system to life on the political road. Ya call that nurturing?
McCain was not an “attack” dog, he was a crusty old snapping turtle with the same old, same old.

Joe the Plumber is a liar. My brother owns a plumbing contracting company with 5 employees. His ‘business’ has NEVER ‘netted’ over $250,000. He and
his wife (who is the bookeeper/etc) pay themselves a salary, and of course they write off everything from equipment to employee salaries. Joe the
Plumber lives in a village – Holland, Ohio – that has a median income of $32,000 a year with houses averaging $89,000. The company he supposedly wants
to buy has 2, count ‘em, TWO men. There is NO way that company will EVER ‘NET” $250,000 unless they have the worst accountant in the entire world.
Even if it should, Joe would pay $300 per $10,000 more in taxes ONLY in income OVER $250,000. Politico.com also reports he may not even be a
registered voter.(dborgers, abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/comments?type=story&id=6041403)

the level of denial in some of the comments here of is rather stunning. you don’t get it. plain old americans like me don’t care about ayers, we care about the fact that most of us can’t get health insurance that actually covers getting sick, we don’t care about alleged phony voter registrations, we care about the demolishing of our wages and retirement savings over the last eight years, we don’t care about trickle-down economics through corporate tax cuts that we’ve been promised since reagan (and haven’t gotten), we care about being able to buy groceries now. mccain is losing because we hear, in obama’s plan, someone finally paying attention to us and what *we* need: affordable health care, good schools for our kids, and a focus on domestic issues rather than being the world’s cop.

McCain STILL could not look Obama in the face as he attacked him. He smirked, he shook his head, he was disrespectful in tone and content and was allowed to go over the time limit time and time again. But eye contact? It just was not there the majority of the time. And I cannot trust a man who cannot make eye contact. Bye-bye John.

Okay, so Hillary was the bitch and now Sarah Palin is the airhead? I don’t think so. You can’t just keep smearing the women candidates. That’s sexism. Sarah Palin has a degree and she has a HUGE approval rating between dems and repubs in Alaska. She is smart, savvy and downright shrewd. She’ll whip out her pin and cross off all the deadwood on the budget and we’ll be financially solvent as a country again in 4 years. She did it in Alaska and she can do it for the country.

Oh, brother!! Palin gave McCain some bad advice. Obama was prepared, ready and gave the answer to McCain questions. Now, maybe the McCain/Palin campaign can find an ACTUAL message to run with the last 19 days. Also, someone should inform Palin that going “negative” is not going to help them win. Maybe she is secret Democrat agent deployed to secure the White House for Obama, since everything she does just pushes him that much closer.

Where is Obama’s wife…she is a #### racist that they have to keep under raps and not open her mouth. Where was she when 911 memorial services were going on…probably at church celebrating with Rev. Wright. How much of her 4.5M net worth will be re-distributed among the poor. Nobody is even questioning the timing of the “crisis” just before the election in time for obama to get his hands on money to pay off his voters. Basic principles of capitalism are still strong if the democrates dont cry and create fear to support Obama. Republicans and business owners it is time to move out of the USA if obama gets his socialist govt. in.

Ayers tried to burn a judge, his wife, and kids to death in their house becuase the judge was presiding over a Black Panther trial. Many people died in those weather underground bombings. And the weather underground, all like Ayers, were little rich snots.

If you really want to help McCain and yourself, how about doing interviews with MSM reports, sunday morning political talk shows, or late shows, so that the voters can get to know who you really are. I am still waiting for you to clarify your relationship with Alaska Independence Party and other issues around you (e.g. troopergate). Governor Palin is a down to earth person who speaks down to earth. She’s not “unintelligent”. Furthermore, people with common sense are more needed in Washngton than these high falutin’ idiots who have bankrupted our nation. Governor Palin has the common sense they lack and will put government back on the side of the people.
She did a great job in Alaska. She’ll do a great job here.
Barack Obama is just snobby – he’s not more intelligent than Governor Palin.
He couldn’t think his way out of a paper bag. He already said he may need to adjust his plan in a weak economy – but hasn’t adjusted it.

Wow – a third time! Rosie O (Donnell?) — (who spat out her rant that the gov’t should go door to door rounding up guns and melting them down…) Ever heard of the 2nd Amendment? It’s been around a lot longer than you. History had shown the way tyrants eliminated resistance to suppression of political opponents was simply to take away the people’s arms and make it an offense for people to keep them.
If you don’t like (or respect) the U.S. Constitution, there are so many other countries for you to move to… As we say in the south – “Delta flies daily!”
The Democrats OF 2008 have become the meanest, vilest, most racist crowd of folks in the history of this great country – whose goal seems to be simply to dismantle the USA. With Barack Obama at the helm – it’s entirely possible.

I guess McCain listened to Palin. He tried attacking Obama, which did not work. Then he drags out “Joe The Plumber”..who would be in line to get a tax cut under Obama…because “Joe The Plumber” does not even a plumbers license. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27207215/

John McCain appears to have been correct. There are a lot of angry people out there. I had hoped that the example of tone and conduct set by Barack Obama would have been followed by his supporters. Disagreeing with a policy or plan is one thing. Personal attacks have historically been the domain of the GOP. Questioning Governor Palin’s understanding of foreign policy is reasonable, given she contention that physical proximity to Russia some how gives her insight. Questioning her understanding of written language is reasonable, given her inability to understand the meaning of “violated state ethics law.” Questioning her personal integrity is reasonable, given her misrepresentation of her earmarks record. Name calling and personal slander, are more a GOP thing. I think most paid bloggers (yea right, dream on) should just leave it at “Governor Palin does not meat my personal standard for next in line to the President of the United States.” Some may label this elitist, I just call it educated, informed, reasonable, or intelligent. For the good Christian GOP bloggers remember that Sarah means “Jewish” prince. Run in fear, you are the only ones.

“Palin is a backward, uneducated, self-serving, homophobic, creationist hatemonger — the prototypical anti-intellectual.” Palin has a BA, is supported by gays in Alaska, says she believes in evolution (her father is a SCIENCE teacher), and has done NOTHING to be considered a hatemonger. Turns out the BS about someone yelling “Kill him” at a rally was proven false by Secret Service. Just another liberal media smear on Palin. If I were her, I’d NEVER give them an interview again in her life.

Obama has memorized his script well…the one that was prepared for him to recite over and over again. And, he delivers it convincingly.
What a crook he is and probably the most deceitful candidate thus far in history. It’s a shame that so many people out there are so easily deceived.

John McCain what in the world were you thinking? I hate the fact that I even know of her. I say we take her off the endangered list and lock her up in a mental ward and let’s hope she never takes you off the endangered list Senator McCain – you better watch your back.

“Democracy is for Ordinary People” Saul Alinsky, dead but a prophet of Obama’s. Alinsky taught “change”. “pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” alinsky was a marxist, Obama studied Alinsky until he aquired his skills as a Marxist. “I would search out the most liberal Marxist professor in school and get in their classes”, “Audacity of hope” Obama
