That One, Too

ABC News’ Ron Claiborne Reports:  In the morning gloom and steady rain, the McCain campaign plane rolled out onto the runway at airport in Nashville, Tennessee to prepare to fly to eastern Pennsylvania.

Inside the plane, a reporter gazing out the window spotted another large jet several hundred yards away on an adjacent runway.

"It’s the Obama plane," someone said. Reporters craned to look out the windows on the left side. It was hard to see in the dim, misty light.

"Where?"

‘It’s ‘that one’," someone said with a dismissive wave of the hand. It was an allusion to Sen. John McCain’s caustic reference to Sen. Barack Obama during the debate in Nashville. McCain was talking about which of the two of them had voted for the Bush energy bill last year.

"It was an energy bill loaded down with goodies and sponsored by Bush and Cheney," McCain said. "Who voted for it? You would’ve never guessed. That one." McCain made what some observers took to be a dismissive gesture in Obama’s direction, then continued: "Who voted against it? Me."

Thank you Ron for that enlightening post. It always helps me in deciding to vote for to know who the reporters mock.

Funny.. I heard he never showed up to vote. Might want to do a fact find on that.
Also, Obama did vote on the bill because it had the largest policies ever in our history for clean energy, wind farms, clean coal…etc.
Every bill will be dirty.. that is way washington has been working… this is what I am hoping Obama will stop also. I think every bill should be its own without any dirty attachments.

What a shame you are John McCain!!! I hope you go back in that dark hole you are still in….You are a disgrace. And your running mate is even worse insinuating Obama is a terrorist! Don’t you have anything else? Now Mccain will go out in dishonor….

Posted by: cindyct | October 8, 2008, 8:13 am 8:13 am

Becky is right. Every bill has something attached to it that either side can point to and say, “See! They voted for XYZ…”
McCain wanted to find something to change what people were talking about this morning…well he did…and now I’m sure he’s regreting ever opening his mouth.
This One is voting for “That One”.

Becky…you are so right. Most bills go through with attachments on them. Many times Senators and Reps vote for one or more in the package. To down someone for a specific bill without knowing what the whole bill respresents is foolish. But this is how the McCain team operates.

McCain has been running a truly dishonorable campaign. I was heartened to see in this morning New York Time’s editorial that they made it very clear that McCain Palins most recent rhetoric is dangerous.”They have gone far beyond the usual fare of quotes taken out of context and distortions of an opponent’s record — into the dark territory of race-baiting and xenophobia. Senator Barack Obama has taken some cheap shots at Mr. McCain, but there is no comparison. “(quote)
When politicans go this low its time to call it as it is!! Hopefully you will do the same …

Posted by: Dee | October 8, 2008, 8:25 am 8:25 am

GO JOE!!!!
Joe Biden lashed out at Sarah Palin on Wednesday, calling her recent rhetoric “ugly” and “mildly dangerous,” and expressing shock that the Alaska Governor did not interrupt recent rallies when supporters shouted hateful attacks about Barack Obama, including “treason!” and “kill him!”
“I watched the news and I heard a couple people hollering from the audience semi-vile things about ‘terrorists,’ things like that,” Biden said on NBC’s Today show. “The idea that a leading American politician who might be vice president of the United States would not just stop mid-sentence and turn and condemn that — it’s just a slippery slope, it’s a place that we shouldn’t be going.”
Sarah is not a pit bull wearing lipstick she is McCains “Junk yard Dog” what an embarrassment to all women.

Now I wish I had a THAT GIRL t-shirt (That Girl as in Marlo Thomas). I’d wear it proudly! The McCain camp is really getting desperate, what with Palin inciting hate and violence and apparently having no qualms about it at that! Not quite the christian lady she professes to be, ya think?
The debate last night was akin to the Nixon/JFK debate of the 60s. Nixon/McCain looked old, tired, angry and ill, whereas Obama/JFK were anything BUT. Game over.

Time:
This morning John McCain put out a list of 100 former ambassadors who are supporting his campaign. Number two is Lenore Annenberg, the wife of Ambassador William Annenberg, the founder of the Annenberg Institute of Reform, which funded the Annenberg Challenge, which once had two famous board members: former “domestic terrorist” William Ayers and Sen. Barack Obama.
So either we should all be outraged that John McCain is supported by a family who funded a foundation that hired a domestic terrorist,

That One, yeah, the communist radical one.
Obama stresses his commonality with the American people. Do most people feel comfortable working closely with unrepentant domestic terrorists who still want to overthrow the capitalist system in America?
Obama presses educational issues as part of his campaign. He spent years working with Ayers on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which pushed efforts to create primary educational organizations that would create political activists for the Left – and which largely failed in any of its intended purposes.
Obama has lied and obfuscated about his relationship with Ayers. Clearly, Ayers was not just “some guy in the neighborhood”, but a political adviser at least on educational issues who provided a key launch for Obama’s political career.

Palin takes questions today from press, here is one of them:
Pressed on whether she was saying Obama was dishonest, Palin said no.
“But in terms of judgment, in terms of being able to answer a question forthrightly, it has two different parts to it, that judgment and that truthfulness,” she said.
Palin said also claimed her husband, Todd, is “an open book” on the controversy back home involving allegations that the couple pressured state officials to fire the governor’s former brother-in-law, a state trooper.
“Nobody has anything to hide,” she said.
——
Oh ya, what about asking the “junk yard dog” about these:
Sarah Palin association’s with the radical Alaska Independence Party that wants to secede from this great country, the United States of America.
And here is a quote from Alaskan Independence Party founder Joe Voegler:
“The fires of Hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government, and I won’t be buried under their damn flag!”
I wonder how Palin explains her husband”s verified membership in the “ALASKIAN INDEPENDENCE PARTY?” Seems she doesn”t believe in the UNITED States of America, does she??
“John McCain sat on the board of…the U.S. Council for World Freedom,” said Begala, “The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981 when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League – the parent organization – which ADL said ‘has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites.’”
But McCain’s involvement in the U.S. Council for World Freedom, which extended from 1981 through, possibly, 1986 is significant — not merely because it ties him to unsavory characters but because it firmly associates him with a foreign policy that was, at the time and still, controversial.
This was the guy that was just toting that “we cant have another holocaust on our hands” when talking about the threat of Iran attacking Israel… then come to find out… he is in cahoots with Nazi-backed death squads and Palin is tied to the Alaska Independence Party which tried to pursue sponsorship from the government of IRAN…. This is absolutely bat-***** insane. Obama tied to Ayers at age 8 is the least of my ***** worries… I could give a ***** less. But McCain and Palin? There are really still people who want to hand these nut-jobs the launch codes?

McCain showed disrespect for a fellow american by not calling him by his name. After what has happened to this country for the past 8 years he should be aplogizing for what his party has done, since he is the head of the party now, Instead of insulting a fellow american.

Seventy percent of US Voters’ feeling distressed, depressed and terrified about United States Economy
A new SenseUs™ Poll reports how voters are feeling about the United States Economy
GAINESVILLE, FL — October 6, 2008 — The majority of voters, are afraid and sad about the current state of the US Economy, according to the SenseUsä Poll, which measures voters’ emotional reactions.
Since January 2008, feelings about the economy have changed. Democrats, Republicans and Independents are feeling more fearful deceived and sad. The uncertainly is making voters feel gloomy.
In SenseUs polls – taken in September, 2007, January, April and September 2008 – no group has been more distressed about the economy than the Independent Voters. They are almost unanimous in these feelings.
Over 80% of the Independents have ‘negative to angry’ feelings about the troubled economy. They have moved significantly, jumping from 58% in September 07, to 71% in April 08, to 81% at the end of September 08.
Proven Method for Measuring Emotions Without Leading Questions
The SenseUs™ poll employs the same AdSAM® methodology that is used by major FORTUNE 500 companies around the globe seeking to understand audiences’ emotions in order to make more relevant connections with them. Research has shown AdSAM® emotional response technology to be highly predictive of behavioral intentions.
“SenseUs™ uncovers voters’ feelings on the issues, 75%, feel ‘sad, angry and terrified about the United States Economy. This is much stronger than the ‘concerned about the economy’ as shown in other polls. Feelings are overlooked in other polls, which is unfortunate since emotions are the precursor to action,” said Jon Morris, PhD, president of AdSAM® and professor of at the University of Florida. “Candidates need to understand the emotional condition of voters and respond accordingly. For example, voters that feel stressed about an issue need to be addressed differently than those that feel weary.”
All the polling results can be found at http://www.SenseUs.net
SenseUS™ uses the AdSAM® (www.adsam.com) technique of emotional response and the Itracks (www.itracks.com) system for accurately gathering response. 260-563-8654

I think the McCain campaign has tried throughout this campaign to characterize Senator Obama as someone who is out of his league. It hasn’t worked. The only folks that chant “the One” are the red meat Republicans. It’s a distraction technique in a time when the nation is hungry for new ideas. Have you checked your 401k today? That’s the issue that affects most Americans. The One, That One, is just a silly distraction that is funny to the Fox News set.

You know, I told my boss about a year ago when I was looking for a loan to buy a home that all these crazy loans out there are going to come back and bit those people in the a**. That the banks and mortgage companies are running a scam to rip off the middle and low class people with bogus loans. I said, they will get a loan and be told they can afford it, but when it is all said and done, those companies make a fortune on the people when they raise their payments. I told him, what goes around comes around. Someday it will come back on them… and it did. I just never thought we would be the ones paying for it.

McCain is definitely losing it – his composure and this Election. Guess his ploy of picking the PitBull with Lipstick didn’t work. She’s a pea-brain and an agitator. She likes to get her neo-Nazi fans all fired up and ready to attack the opposition. Nice way of putting the Country First. When she finally sits down on Meet The Press or Face The Nation, maybe then I might, just might, listen to what she has to say. But that won’t ever happen. She’s in some kind of “protective custody” by the McCain Campaign. Even they know she would be “poisonous” if she ever got the opportunity to be questioned on any subject of substance. McCain’s done and so is she. She is damaging herself for a future in the Rep. Party, especially with her husband’s associations with the domestic terrorist, Joe Voegler of the Alaska Independent Party. Remember Sarah, people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

We all believe in the same thing but have different approaches. The bottom line is that we all love America. I am proud that I am a liberal. A sheriff who introduced Palin at a rally referred to the Democratic candidate as “Barack Hussein Obama.”
“You know, the idea here that somehow these guys are once again injecting fear and loathing into this campaign is … I think it’s mildly dangerous. I mean, here you have out there these kinds of, you know, incitements out there — guy introducing Barack using his middle name as if it’s some epitaph or something,” Biden said, apparently confusing the words “epitaph” and “epithet.”

The democrats have done a wonderful job at doom and glooming us to death. First they cover up what they have been doing with freddie and fannie, creating a market meltdown with abusing the intentions of this institution and now say they are the ones to fix it. While neither candidate has a clue as to what real americans face everyday Obama has been a key shaker of the federal money tree since his days as a community activist. What it all boils down to is that no matter who we elect if we have the same dead beats sitting in Congress we all we be screwed again.

I think the “that one” comment was just generational. I remember my grandparents used to refer to people in that manner, too. Sometimes it was derisive; sometimes it wasn’t (they used it to point out us grandchildren). It almost always referred to someone younger, though.
So I can give him a pass on “that one.”
What I’m not so sure about is McCain’s reference to “my entire military career.” He wasn’t talking about his time in the military, and it didn’t come across as just a mispeak.
It sounded like an alzheimer’s moment, and the awkward, confused look that followed suggested the same. Then McCain caught himself and added his “public career” or words to that effect.
That moment was concerning.

What McCain keeps forgetting to mention is that there ended up being a net tax increase on big oil out of that bill. It may take a feww days for it to ink in but the distinctions drawn in the debate last night were clear. We MUST get off oil and 10 years is a generous time to get that job done. Utilizing just 10% of our oil purchases to mass produce cars that run on electricity will have a significant impact within 2 years. The technology already exists to do that. Further investment, call it an additional 10% into the mass production and implementation of solar, wind and tidal farms across the US, again using currently proven technology, will have a massive impact in energy production and an increase of nearly 8 million new jobs directly related and indirectly related to that industry. Energy costs will come down, jobs and economy will go up, environment will be positively impacted. Plus ripples into education, healthcare and global trade. All for money we are already committed to spending. John McCain wants to do what we’ve always done, talk about it and explain how we can’t afford it.

McCain’s “that one” comment was racist to the core. America is a mix of many people, each of whom have a name, each of whom should be shown respect. If McCain can’t muster enough respect on a nationally/internationally televised debate to refer to Obama by his name, or by Senator Obama, then what kind of respect could McCain possible harbor for the American people? Try none. McCain is unfit to serve.

We have woken up, Natasha, woken up to recognize anti-American hate speach like yours. And we are saying ENOUGH to you and your ilk. You won’t be tolerated any longer. America stands up to you and says NO MORE. You had the last 8 years to show what you’re all about. And look what it’s done to our country. NO MORE. ENOUGH!
OBAMA/BIDEN 2008!

We’ve got to impose term limits on every incumbent running for Congress or the Senate in this election. They all deserve to be fired! We don’t need a constitutional amendment to do this, just vote against every incumbent running, Democrat or Republican. Fire every one of them. Doing this could very well force whomever is elected President to sit down with all the new faces and come up with real solutions to the serious problems we’re facing…and maybe even putting the long term interests of our nation first.

It would have been even funnier if McCain had called him “Thing One”.
In any event, That 1 is heading for the WH.

Instead of fighting can’t we all just get along…..Put your faith & trust in God and pray that his will is done in our country…If you are a true follower of our lord & savior Jesus Christ you will do this and continue to love others even during their ignorance. If you can’t see it everything is happening for a reason….How long do you think God would allow Greed & love of getting money at all costs go on in this country. This “my friends” should be a wake up call to all of us…. And if you don’t know Jesus Christ now you better get to know him soon………..

Jeff said “By the way McCain has a black daughter”.
She’s Bangladeshi you moron!!!!! Or did you hear that from the smear campaign W launched in 2000 South Carolina primary? His daughter is from a country that is 80% Muslim. Chances are her birth parents are Muslim!!! Did you know that?
Considering his daughter is from Bangladesh, you would think that John McCain would not stoop to these anti-Muslim and racially charged attacks.
Those of you are concerned about Rev. Wright and his hateful words, I really encourage you to google “John Hagee and John McCain”. I’m sure you’ll find it very intriguing.

THAT ONE/BIDEN 08

Posted by: This One | October 8, 2008, 9:25 pm 9:25 pm

McCain’s comment about “that one” was low and cretinous. He has no class. In fact, he’s treated Obama with disrespect throughout the debates. Obama, on the other hand, has been nothing less than gracious, even in spite of McCain’s attitude. His behavior is detrimental to civilized debate – and in a presidential campaign no less. “That One”, Mr. McCain? Seriously? Well let’s go ahead and vote for “THAT ONE”. I’m ready to do it just to spite McCain.

“THAT ONE” is a muslim thug.

Oh the general consensus of the commenting world is the same. The only difference is here, there’s a bit more polish. McCain has lost the election and most certainly his mind. There’s a disrespect that’s shown toward Obama from McCain that’s evident to anyone who would care to open their eyes. It may be a little difficult for Republican America to wrap their minds around the idea of black President. Good.

PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN: EMOTIONAL PENDULUM SWINGS BACK TO GO
Gainesville, FL, November 3, 2008—After a back-and-forth campaign, voters now feel basically the same emotional connection they did to the presidential candidates as they did a year ago, according to a new study by SenseUSTM Emotional Response Polling. The one notable difference is Sarah Palin, who was relatively unknown in September 2007, she now outshines John McCain.
Unlike most polls, which test only rational responses to political issues, SenseUSTM Premier measures the emotional connections, using non-verbal visual techniques to measure how voters feel about the issues and the candidates. This technique has been used since September of 2007. SenseUSTM has been shown to be highly predictive of election results and has accurately predicted election trends in the 2008 presidential race.
With Independent voters, Barack Obama is the only candidate who has an above-average connection to voters, but falls short of the ideal emotional temperature, which measures such feelings. The ideal temperature is 202 and the average is 100. Obama measured 114, with Palin in second place, barely leading Joe Biden. McCain is not far behind these two. Both the Democratic and Republican parties fall behind the actual candidates as far as relating to Independents.
When examining all voters, Obama still has the highest temperature, 98. The other candidates fall in the same order, but the Democratic Party is higher in the rank than Palin.
Since September, connections with McCain have actually decreased within the Republican Party. By comparison, Obama’s connection with Democrats has improved, indicating that the Party is rallying around its candidate.
The connections with Independents have marked the biggest changes over the past month. At the end of September, both Palin and McCain had sizeable leads over Obama with this group. Since that time, Obama has gained more than 40 points on the Emotional Thermometer, while the Republican candidates have lost significant ground. Additionally, Palin’s temperature has fallen over the last month.
All the polling results can be found at http://www.SenseUs.net
SenseUS™ uses the AdSAM® (www.adsam.com) technique of emotional response and the Itracks (www.itracks.com) gathering system.
