The View Weighs In On Sarah Palin

On the View today, Whoopi explained why Palin bothers her and why she’s nervous about McCain’s VP pick. Whoopi and Hasselback go head to head on whether there’s too much focus on Palin in the race.

Man thet Hasselbeck is annoying. Maybe thats why the Giants cut her husband. They couldn’t stand listening to her.

Did anyone notice:
Politico’s Jonathan Martin: McCain is pulling out of Michigan

So….whoopi says that Palin is not “diplomatic” enough when she talks to people?
Lessee….and Biden? The human gaffe machine? The guy that won’t shut up and gets on everyone’s nerves? The guy who said “You can’t go in a dunkin donuts without speaking Indian?” You mean that disgusting racist Biden?
The one who lied about being shot at in Iraq, and yet got no press coverage, unlike HIllary did, further proving the media bias for Obama?
Yeah Whoopi, again, biased media.

Good job Whoopi…
Palin brings up the second grade thing (without thinking), then when she is called on it, for McCain being 6 years older than Biden…”Oh, I didn’t mean it like that; i was just stating a fact there, that he has experience”…
Give me a break, she’s a joke…People aren’t stupid

Whoopi doesn’t like her because she’s sarcastic? The whole “2nd grade” thing is recent, and Whoopi’s lying. She doesn’t like Palin because she’s not the Messiah.

Obama can be just as sarcastic as Palin … even flip! … and he ain’t no Flip Wilson!!!

wally: I have been wondering with his VP choice and how they both lie, day after day, after day, that McCain really does not want to be president, that he does not want this mess, which probably is even worse then we know right now.

I think that rational people everywhere are starting to see that this race isn’t even close.
Obama/Biden ’08
Our last best hope.

liberati – find a diplomat or head of another country who doesn’t have the highest regard for Joe Biden. You can’t.

Hassellbeck is like some Palin supporters. Whenever they hear something negatives about Plain, they always respond with “how about Obama?” It appears to me that they support Palin, just because they decide not to like Obama.

Why, oh, why didn’t the View pick Republican Rachel Campos-Duffy years ago, instead of that Hasselbeck dingbat? At least Rachel has a brain & can voice her opinion without sounding whiny, desperate & irrational.

I love the view! I love the way Joy gives it to Elisabeth. I agree with Whoppi on one thing. She was picked 30 days ago to be McCain running mate. Any all we know about his woman is she hunts, she hikes, she was in a beauty contest, she is Gov. of Alaska and she can see Russia from Alaska. You would not let him have Liberman, so he “got back at cha” with picking a walking dunce cap!

Yup. Whoopie. The voice of reason, common sense, and compassion.
This is the same Whoopie who defended Michael Vick, and his training dogs to fight , and kill each other in a vicious manner, for financial gain, because…that’s what’s done in the south….right?
I sure don’t question her judgement, and opinions! *snickers*

Who cares, if you use the view as your basis for voting, any way you are going to vote, you need to go into your garage, start your car, and just sit and listen to the radio. (all with the door closed)

Michael vick aint’ running for VP, But Palin probably likes Vick……Both Mistreat and kill animals.

And that’s one thing we know for she she does in Alaska …Right!

I’m Libertarian, and I get some posts not added. I don’t know if some get dropped b/c of volume, or thru moderation…so I rarely post there now. I agree. All points of view need to be heard….so while this particular issue being discussed here is trite….real stories are out there, if one just looks.
An auditor for the Federal Election Commission is attempting to have his bosses seek a formal investigation into the collection by the Obama for President campaign of more than $200 million in potentially illegal political donations, including millions of dollars of illegal, foreign donations, and has sought a request for assistance from the Department of Justice or Federal Bureau of Investigation. But the analyst’s requests have largely been ignored. “I can’t get anyone to move. I believe we are looking at a hijacking of our political system that makes the Clinton and Gore fundraising scandals pale in comparison. And no one here wants to touch it.”
One reasons cited by his superiors, says the analyst, is that involvement by the Justice Department or FBI would be indicative of a criminal investigation, something the FEC would prefer not take place a month before the presidential election. Such actions, though, have been used to scuttle Republican campaigns in the past, the most famous being the Weinberger case in the days leading up to the 1992 re-election bid of President George H.W. Bush.
The analyst, who declines to be identified for fear of retribution, says that on four different occasions in the past three months, he sought to open formal investigations into the Obama campaign’s fundraising techniques, but those investigations have been discouraged. “Without formal approval, I can’t get the resources I need, manpower, that kind of thing. This is a huge undertaking.” And the analyst says that he believes that campaign finance violations have occurred.
The Obama campaign has already had to deal with several FEC complaints about fraudulent donors and illegal foreign contributions, and the FEC says it has no record that those complaints have been resolved or closed. As well, the Obama campaign has been cagey at times about the means by which it has made its historic fundraising hauls, which now total almost $500 million for the election cycle. The Hillary Clinton campaign raised questions about the huge amount of e-retail sales the Obama campaign was making for such things as t-shirts and other campaign paraphernalia, and how such sales were being tracked and used for fundraising purposes. While the profits of those items counted against the $2,300 personal donation limit, there have always been lingering questions about the e-retail system.
“The question has always been, if you buy a $25 t-shirt and you go back to that purchaser eight or nine times with email appeals for $200 or $500 donations, and you have people donating like that all the time, at what point does the campaign bother to check if the FEC limit has been exceeded?” says a former Clinton campaign fundraiser. “There are enough of us from the 1992 and 1996 and 2000 races around to know that many of these kinds of violations never get caught until after the election has been won or lost. In this case, there is no way the Obama campaign will be held accountable before Election Day, unless someone raises holy hell.”
The FEC analyst says that Obama’s filings indicate he has received large, bundled sums of donations from overseas, sometimes exceeding a quarter millions dollars. “It’s suspicious, but it’s the small donations made by credit card that need to be examined. We’ve raised red flags on many of these and the Obama campaign just ignores us. After this election, after we’ve sifted through everything — if we’re allowed to sift through everything — I am confident that we are looking at perhaps the largest fine every leveled against a national campaign entity.”
Just as frustrating as the lack of desire on the part of his bosses to act, says the analyst, is that major media outlets have ignored the story he has been attempting to tell. Thus far, Newsmax is one of the few publications to cover the Obama campaign finance scam story.

Too bad we can’t have civil discussions anymore. The coarsening of America. Our opponents have to be “dumb” and our politics decided by comediennes. I don’t read the newspaper but I get my opinions from the “VIEW”. Seriously, what is the world coming to?

Posted by: Margaret | October 2, 2008, 3:08 pm 3:08 pm

What concerns me about the view is how partisan people become that they are no longer able to reason. The one stark difference throughout this entire presidential season, is that Democrats can articulate why they were passionate about their candidates esp Hillary and Obama.
The Republicans have never done that except to say things that are anti the Democratic ticket. They have therefore constantly tried to distract voters from the issues and engage in mockery and character assinations. Now that the issues are front and center they have no response, so its no wonder that even Palin doesn’t know McCain’s positions the campaigns and their supporters have never really discussed them, why is why their only response is what about Obama?what about Biden? its pathetic

The ladies on The View just talk over each other. That’s real grown-up.
For me, this race has come down to this:
You know when late at night you’re just
standing at the fridge looking for
‘something’ and you don’t really see
what you want? Then it comes down to
two items way in the back:
a piece of pound cake – plain and simple
or a piece of unidentified piece of
gooey something that I might have to pay
for later if I pick it? McCain is pound
cake, but I like pound cake.
Well, enough of that.
What about NBC sending a reporter to
Hanoi to interview McCain’s captors
to see what ‘really happened’. Talk
about a gooey mess?
I’m sure it was ‘tea and sympathy’ for
McCain – no torture at all. Wow.
Shame on NBC. That is what news media
is like today.

Here is my passion
I believe in a FREE America. Yes…capitalism. It’s not evil, it’s only evil to those who won’t work for anything, rather they sit, and whine, and expect hand outs from those who do work for thing.
Charity is a good thing, but welfare is unconstitutional. You all blame McCain or deregulation. There is nothing wrong with that…in the private sector. Where regulation should have been in place was in Frannie Mae, and Freddie Mac, considering they were protected entities by tax dollars. It was their policies, along with ACORN, using tactics such as bullying, and coercing, and embarrassment, to force big banks, and lending groups to fall in line with their practices of giving loans to those who can’t afford them.
It makes me angry. I am anti anything, that feels the need to enslave, pander, and baby those who are in need of help, rather than offering them a way out. This was not the way out, because it hurts everyone.
$320 billion a year is spent on welfare for illegals. That’s just for illegals. Wanna know why your health costs are up? It’s not because of capitalism…it’s the welfare. IT’s gotten bigger, and more out of hand. I am all for helping the poor, but since these programs have been put in place, all they’ve succeeded in doing is keeping people there…not helping them out of their situation.
I don’t believe upping the ante every year for these do nothing programs is the answer. If we are to invest, then we should demand a return on that investment. That means, stop the nonsense spending, and insert prorams that truly work.
Make for some personal responsibility, and accountability. Obama was a community organizer, and was integral working with ACORN to acquire these people homes, they couldn’t afford..then turns around just a few days ago, and says….they were “tricked”. Who tricked them? Obama? Acorn? The banks? Freddie mac, or Frannie Mae? Who? Why is it after years of this corruption going on, is this the first time he’s noticed that they were tricked? If he has suspicions of this going on, then why does he take money from these big banks, and Acorn, and Both Freddie, and Fannie?
I’m mad as hell. I’m sick and tired of our tax dollars being wasted blatantly as they are, for pet projects, and crap. I believe in supporting our troops, and I believe when they are sent to fight, whether we agree with it or not, they are bound by their oath to do so…..and I’d rather they go well equipped, and prepared.
But this entire mess being pandered off on one side or the other, when it’s all sides doing this constantly. And why do I have this feeling now, this is a mere smoke screen for something bigger, and worse to come?
McCain wasn’t my first choice, I will admit, but I didn’t trust Obama from the first time I noticed him. It’s not because he’s black. I welcome anyone to be President…but he’s had pass after pass. An email the other day from someone in the media, admitting that the press is biased, and won’t run stories unfavorable to Obama. I don’t care if they vote Democrat, but I miss the days when the press was fair, unbiased, and professional.
When we find a story in Sarah Palins pregnant daughter, but don’t find a story in the fact that Bidens’ had a million gaffes, and Obama is up to his eyeballs in questionable dealings, then that my friends, is biased…and a good reason to complain.
Obama oozes socialism, and I’ve had great uncles, uncles, a father, brothers, cousins, newphews and nieces all serve this great nation, and they weren’t serving to protect the fundamentals of socialism. Which is EVERYTHING against the Constitution…they were protecting the constitution, and our freedoms. ALl of that will be for nothing if this man is elected.
There is a question of Obama’s citizenship, and a forged birth certificate seems to be the answer enough, for the msm’s. A question to his associations. He’s half white, and half arab. He sat in a church for 20 years, listening to white hate from his reverand, and like we forget so many things, we forget that he threw his white grandmother under the bus. The woman who raised him. What makes anyone think he won’t do that to anyone of us, no matter what color we are, if he could do that to his own grandmother?
More stories come up every day. The latest being the foreign campaign contributions coming in, from Iran, Abu Dhabi, and other middle eastern nations. Does this not bother us as Americans, after being attacked? We just turn away from it, to see thru to a political agenda, rather than concern ourselves with it, for the safety, and future of our nation.
Why do other nations want Obama so much? Because they are socialists, and would embrace us leaving what our founding fathers laid out for us, to become one of them.
Remember..it wasn’t Russia for a lot of years. It was the Union of SOCIALISTS Republic. And now, Gorbachev, is creating a new party, based more on Democracy, because he doesn’t want his country to slip back into what it was. e’s embracing freedom, as we all should be.
Government cannot fix everything, and everyone seems to think they can. I want lower taxes, less government, and a free enterprise system. I don’t want to be reliant on Government for my every need, or my childrens, or grandchildren. I want them to know freedom, and the good that can come from hard work, and to know they can do it, without Government telling them if they can, or not.
Less Taxes, Less Government, means more jobs, more money, and more freedoms.

Apparently Whoopi never heard of President Regan and his straight talk with Russia that eventually lead to Russia’s down fall. Honestly is the best form of being diplomatic with every one. Of course Whoopi is a liberal Democrat so she wouldn’t know that!!!

I AM REALLY SICK OF LISTENING TO THE “VIEWS” OF ALL OBAMA SUPPORTERS ON T”THE VIEW”!
POOR ELIZABETH!
I HOPE SHE TAKES THE JOB AT FOXX, SINCE “THE VIEW” WILL BE HISTORY DUE TO ONE SIDED VIEWS! EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION WORTH LISTENING TOO.

Posted by: KATHY | October 4, 2008, 5:40 pm 5:40 pm

I hope ‘The View’ will talk about
‘who cooked the books’ at Fannie / and
Freddie and NBC sending a reporter to
Hanoi to see if McCain was telling the
truth (did McCain lie? What? there was no torture? Yeah, right.) Also, lets chat on the scandal about ACORN a little matter of embezzlement
- that case is now
taking place in court in New Orleans.
(I’m not saying Obama had anything to
do with that particular case; I am saying, however, that ACORN did not always do the right thing; they helped
a lot of people; but they have also
hurt a lot of people – there are other
charges – look it up – this is where
Obama comes in.)
Lets talk about Obama ‘ringing the bell’ or ‘sounding the alarm’
about Fannie and Freddie. Where? When?
Who did he say it to? Is it officially
on record somewhere? Anywhere?
Yeah, now, he says it. When he was taking those contributions from them,
was that the time he was saying it?
Where is his name on any report? bill?
McCain did indeed have his name on a
bil to regulate Fannie/Freddie -
Where is Obama’s name written on a formal bill? Anyone? I’ll take it back
ONLY when I see it on an official peace
of legislation.
How about a little matter of this guy
called ‘Odinga’ in Kenya? If it’s nothing, then show us. The Kenyan
government called him down on this.
It is on record(video;newspapers,etc.)
This Odinga guy is really NOT good.
I’ll refrain from using the word ‘evil’.
But you get the drift. Odinga’s words
and actions are detrimental to the good
people of Kenya. And Obama, as a U.S.
Senator, went over to Kenya and showed
support to the guy called, Odinga.
To The View; ABC; CBS, NBC – go take
a hard look at all of the above.
It’s not FOX news saying this regarding
all of the above. Somebody DID cook the
books; ACORN is in an embezzlement case
in New Orleans; there is a guy called
Odinga that has hurt people in Kenya;
Obama DID go over to Kenya (to see his
1/2 brother, yes, but to also support
Odinga – talk to the Kenyan government -
and the good people in Kenya.) Go see
for yourselves.
