The Washington Post has a story this morning about how there is a rush of sorts among chiefs in the Bush administration to get their portraits painted before January.  Federal dollars (read taxpayer dollars) are being spent on the canvases.  A painting of Donald Rumsfeld for nearly 50 thousand.  25 grand for a portrait of former NASA chief Dan Goldin.  FDA chief Andrew von Eschenbach’s likeness for nearly 20 thousand.
