Why men love Sarah Palin

Here’s the mature post- SNL conversation in the Kay household.
Husband: Oh now I get it.
KK: Get what.
Husband: Why Palin’s so popular with me.
KK: Oh, yeah and why is that? (peevish, never)
Husband: Because she smiles a lot and can laugh at herself and she seems like she’d be kind of fun to hang out with and (starting to look nervously at increasingly grumpy wife) Baldwin was right, she is way hotter than she looks at rallies (that was just dumb, right).
KK: So you just want a wife who’s cheerful all the time and can slice up a moose into the bargain (being usual cheerful self).
Husband: No, no, of course not. That’s not what I mean. I’m just saying, I can see why other men might like it. Maybe they feel like she’d be easy to married to….(really really dumb)
KK: And now suddenly Mrs Happy Governor is ready to lead the free world right? I could smile all day, would that make me ready to be VP. I don’t think so. And what about her lack of experience in foreign policy, hey? That’s wiped out with a fun joke or two?
Husband: OK. I don’t think this conversation is getting us very far.

This is one of the most ignorant blog postings I have read to date.

I don’t care if it’s Palin he’s talking about or Hillary, he’s in deep doo-doo.

Hopefully men will think with their heads…is a wink and smile all it takes to make men vote in a potential president!! Cmon guys…dont live up to the stereotype of being be blithering idiots!!

“And what about her lack of experience in foreign policy, hey?”
I don’t know KK, why don’t you ask the same thing about Obama? Oh that’s right, cause you’re in the tank for him.
You should be fired.

ja
Oh, come on, lighten up. What’s wrong with a little humor? These blogs have been getting way too ugly.

Posted by: This is SO Old | October 20, 2008, 2:57 pm 2:57 pm

It’s not humor, it’s more media showing its bias.
Stupid (and likely fictitious) conversation. Stupid posting.
I have 0 respect left for the media. And most Americans are with me on that. Ever wonder why? Because of idiotic blogs like this one.

Posted by: ja | October 20, 2008, 2:59 pm 2:59 pm

Why can’t we talk about Obama’s lack of experience ? Why can’t we talk about Obama’s close ties with Ayers. Ayers wrote Obama’s “autobiography.” Why can’t we talk about the fact that Obama was not born in the US. He was born to an underaged American woman in Kenya. Thus, he was not technically born in the US. Instead we are talking about SNL ? This country is intellectually lethargic…

Ummm….what the HECK is this post about?? You know, if you don’t have anything to say, it’s OK to not say anything.
A pretty mindless post. Very unintelligent. And unfunny.

Posted by: Sunil | October 20, 2008, 3:05 pm 3:05 pm

Actually, it is humorous. I’ve witnessed the same conversation with other married couples after the office Christmas party.
It’s the way many men think, or rather don’t think when they are talking to their wives. I wouldn’t be surprised at all.
She’s a very attractive woman and there are men that like her simply because she is attractive. AND men do like women that they think would be fun to “hang out with.”
I don’t like her politics or her airheaded ways, but I CAN see that men would be attracted to a good-looking woman and say something completely stupid like this to their wives about it.
If you don’t like the media “bias” and have no respect for the media, then why on earth are you here reading it?

Anyone who supports Palin needs to have their head examined.
Did you hear her spout talking point fragments in no particular order in the Katie Couric interview?
“Ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up the economy– Oh, it’s got to be about job creation too. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions.”
Word salad. It was like watching the computer blew its fuses on an episode of Star Trek.
Go ahead and ask her about the constitutional theory of the unified executive and its implications for our civil liberties, or whether toxic uranium mining should go on right next to the Grand Canyon, or what be the economic effect of prescription drug reimportation or about rampant kidnapping in Mexico near the U.S. border.
Wait for the confused look on her face, followed by a list of incoherent talking points.
Actually, good luck asking her anything. Palin is the first candidate for the Whitehouse since Kennedy/Nixon to refuse to have a simple press conference.
Why? Fear of being exposed.

Oh, Zuzi, get over it, will you? In fact, why don’t you get real? You’re boring us to death with this broken-record nonsense.

Well you are one of the bloggers and I agree, you are an idiot too, and I think that most Americans are with me on that.

Biden: If Elected, The World Will Test Obama With A Crisis
by Aaron Bruns
SEATTLE, WA — Joe Biden says he’s certain that if Barack Obama is elected president, there will be an international crisis to test his strength within the first 6 months of his presidency.
“Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America.” he told a fundraising crowd in the Pacific Northwest on Sunday. “Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
“- I don’t know what the decision’s gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it’s gonna happen
MAKE SURE IT NEVER HAPPENS.

The media is so incredibly biased. They like Obama, so they would do anything and everything to promote Obama, to try to influence the audiences. What happened to fairness and objectivity? Aren’t you suppose to report two sides of the stories, to present all the facts, and let voter make up their minds for themselves?
I agree with the previous comments in that this blog entry is brainless and meaningless at all.

Hey zuzi,
Let’s talk about John McCain leaving his wife for the h0. Let’s talk about McCain’s connections with Charles Keating. Let’s talk about McCain voting along with Bush at least 90% of the time. Let’s talk about McCain’s running mate’s husband’s connections with a separatist group in Alaska with a leader saying some pretty terrible things about our country & our flag, a group Sarah Palin addressed less than 3 years ago & not to admonish them. Face it, zuzi, every politician has a little dirt on them. Stop talking as if John McCain is squeaky clean, would you? It sounds desperate & it’s getting old.

This is a misconception played into by the media. Sure Sarah palin is an ok looking female, but even Ann Coulter is prettier LOL

Sarah Palin is a smart, intelligent, experienced and attractive woman. The nerve of the sexist comments by men and women is appauling. It seems that some average looking women are bashing attractive women – watch “your insecurity demons.” Palin has more experience and better intuition than Obama could ever hope to have.

And did he go on to put the other foot in his mouth? ;)

Posted by: PunditMom | October 29, 2008, 2:48 pm 2:48 pm

If a man’s opinion about men’s opinions counts here, then I know why I like Palin:
She likes men. And she doesn’t apologize for it.
She stands up to the media onslaught like a beauty queen and keeps smiling. Every day her media chops get better and yet her personality remains convivial and compassionate.
She is Caribou Barbie and you know what, that’s a pretty good example to follow.
In other words, she’s normal. After the slutarama starting with Madonna through Pink, or the hobnailed boots approach, it is attractive to see a woman act as if being a woman was a good thing but not a special thing.
Chalk it up to minority fatigue. Fifty years of majority-be-guilty has gotten very old.
Give us a woman we can love easily and we will love them forever.
Give us an ordeal and a deal is all it will ever be.
Palin represents something that angers a lot of women: a successful woman, standing proud, staying tough, and holding on to hers by rights without a fight.
When any of you can do that, you’ll quit talking about womenomics and start running a country.

My husband likes Palin she has “stones” as he puts it. Palin is strong in the face of challenges and maintains a great disposition in the process. She knows WHO she is, WHAT she wants, and WHY she is here. Palin only grieves women who are not comfortable in their own skin. When I look at women like Pelosi with their fake smiles and hidden agenda’s – Palin is a refreshing change. Do you honestly want to see the same ‘ole political retreads for the next four years? Long Live PALIN!!!!

Ah, a glimce to what life is like married to a liberal woman. I feel sorry for her husband. Poor guy.
It is evident from her first sentence that no matter what he said, she was upset and didn’t respect his opinion.
Life with a liberal must suck, they are always so negative.

thank God i’m gay. she leaves me singularly unimpressed.

Women and men that care about women,
Do you really know how this man thinks about women, sexuality or rape? McCain, as recently as yesterday, said in his stump speeches that he will not allow earmarks for studying the DNA of bears. That part is cool, but what he quips next is disturbing. McCain said that he’s “not sure if that was a paternity issue or a criminal issue.”
McCain’s been called out previously for his rape/beastiality jokes. One of his now famous jokes: “Did you hear the one about the woman being raped by a gorilla, beaten then left to die? When revived by the doctor, she asks where is that fabulous ape?”
Is it surprising that Clayton Williams, another one big on rape jokes raised $300,000 for McCain? Williams compared rape to the weather, saying, “As long as it’s inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it.” He also compared his female Democratic opponent, Ann Richards, to cattle by saying he would “head her and hoof her and drag her through the dirt.”
Is it any wonder that he selected a VP that charges rape victims for DNA kits and forensic examinations that could help identify their attackers.
You decide.
Obama/Biden 08!

You should do a headline about Obama and how he turns off female voters. I see nothing in him, except that big wart on the side of his nose.
On the eve of the election, I cannot believe he seems poised to get this. Appaling liberal media practically handed him his crown on a silver platter. Gov. Palin is authentic and has had more Executive experience than the three of them.

Posted by: Can't believe what we're witnessing | November 4, 2008, 1:49 am 1:49 am

Maybe the trend will die out, but it seems the Democrats are determined to keep pounding on Palin even after the election. She scares them almost as much or more than Hillary Clinton.
What is it about Democrats? I am one and I don’t get this. Palin is a move to toward the center for feminism and that is something badly needed because historically feminism has been an extremist movement. A move toward normalcy even if it has to be pulled from the right should be a welcome change.
Maybe the ultra left of the Democratic Party really is a group of sexist pigs. If so, Obama’s term will be a brutal one for the Dems because in under a year, they will need all of the Democrats still willing to admit to being one.
Palin is a positive for the women’s movement. And maybe that is just too scary for the Democrats to admit: that they pilloried their champion while the Republicans laud theirs.
Too bad. One term. Then eight more from the right.

Perhaps the only way to elect an African-American is to put him up against a feeble old man and an inexperienced female.
Who by the way was thrown under the bus by the GOP since they used her for her gender to gain votes and apparently pick her because of her past “beauty-queen” status rather than as a stereo-typical woman of power able to play ball with the boys wearing a cup and a breast plate.
The whole election was very “off-putting” to me.

I am a man and I find nothing appealing about a phony like Sarah Palin, that stupid wink would work well for a hooker, but not for someone that wants to run our country. I hope she stays in Alaska and continues to live in her fantasy world with Bullwinkle J. Moose.

ABc should close comments on something this stupid. What a complete “Jackass’ the Republicians have made of themselves continuing to report on this “Flake” of a women. Who the heck started the silly idea that she is attractive. She is 44 year old women probably wearing a girdle to make her figure look reasonable. You would probably want to quit drinking if you ever woke up next to her in the A.M. before she gets a make over. Yuck !!!
