Has Black Friday Gone Too Far?

Stores readied themselves for throngs of post-Thanksgiving holiday shoppers, many opening their doors at midnight to accommodate the Black Friday rush. The National Retail Federation estimates that 128 million people will visit stores this weekend. Bargain shopping has been known to get physical, but never to this extreme.

At a Wal-mart in Long Island, a worker was trampled to death by a crowd of nearly 200 unruly shoppers when the store opened this morning. Eager customers stormed the store doors, injuring at least four others, police say.
