New President = Gun Sales Surge
EmailHere’s what the news scroll on the NRA website said this morning: Among the headlines rolling by: "Gun stores report brisk business after Obama election >>>> Run on Guns in Texas!"
The election are proving to be great business for gun stores. Some clearly view an Obama presidency as bad for gun rights. Gun stores are anecdotally reporting a big surge in purchases since Tuesday night.
Here is how the Associated Press summed up Obama on gun control: "Voted to leave gun-makers and dealers open to suit. Also, as Illinois state lawmaker, supported ban on all forms of semiautomatic weapons and tighter state restrictions generally on firearms."

What is your problem people? Obama follows the Constitution and he has respect for the Supreme Count. I am more scared of Bush coming into my home and taking away my guns because I disagree with them then I am with Obama taking my guns away. Obama speaks with respect of the constitution, not like Bush who said the constituion is just a piece of paper. Wake up people.

I left the NRA because of ignorance like this. I’ve heard that the Dems are the boogie men and are gonna take our guns since I was a kid. Not gonna happen people, so stop acting like a bunch of idiots. You give us real rednecks a bad name.

Never will understand why any ordinary citizen would want or need an AK 47, for example. You cannot hunt with it, you cannot target shoot with it. It is a weapon of war. Why should the law allow citizens to buy them any more than allowing them to buy tanks, claymore mines, RPGs, hand grenades.

Maybe, just maybe, some people are preparing for some potential problems that may arise in the future… It is far better to remain prepared than sit back and hope that a situation doesn’t occur.

It is of no surprise that liberals like William “will never understand”.
He, as well as most, thinks the 2nd Amendment is for hunting or target shooting. Of course they are wrong.
The 2nd Amendment is about one thing and only one thing, arming the people so the govenment remains fearful of them enough that they would never repress them, in the event the government oversteps its bounds, the armed people can take it back.
So you see William, it all about war.
People like William J. LePetomaine would like to use language like “AK 47″ to scare you. Ignorant people react when they hear that, thinking that we allow “machine guns”. When infact, you can’t own a “machine gun” since 1938. Then William injects more propaganda: “It is a weapon of war”.

Oh because you can’t find anywhere on the internet on how to turn a Semi-auto 7.62mm AK-47 in a full auto. Google would never be able to find that.
Next you will say that explosive bullets and teflon coated rounds are for nature’s super animals, like the flying squirrel ooohhhh!
I believe in the right to bear arms don’t get me wrong, and it’s not the responsible gun owners that know how to care and clean a firearm, it’s that ignorant Niche’ that buys it for status or because they saw it in a movie.
Personal responsibility needs to come back in a big way.

Obama has not taken office yet and he is already helping to stimulate the economy. Yes we can!! Don’t worry people, Obama will not take away your guns. He is inheriting so many problems from the Bush administration that he has no time to worry about gun control.

Gun sales are up because Obama is for banning guns.
He also wants to put the assault weapons (oxymoron) ban back into effect. A ridiculous ban that has nothing to do with a AK 47, as the propagandists would like you to think.

Aren’t there more important issues facing the President Elect..like, oh I don’t know..2 wars, a failing economy, the worst credit crises in US history! I don’t think taking their precious guns away from them is top priority for President Elect Obama.

It would seem that from the comments, there is something very telling in the way people discuss this. Those that voted for Obama use terms to describe guns as “yours” and “theirs”. The people that voted against Obama use “ours” and “mine”.
So it is true what they say. Liberals don’t own firearms and conservatives do. It is also interesting to read why we have the Second Amendment and also to note that the party out of political power now is the armed half of the nation. Just as our Founders wanted.
