Palin Soaks Up Media Spotlight

ABC’s Kate Snow reports:

Bill McAllister is suddenly a very busy man.  As spokesman for the Governor of Alaska, his role was pretty much taken over in an instant last August — the moment Governor Sarah Palin was selected as John McCain’s running mate.  The McCain campaign quickly selected a brand new team of communication specialists to travel with her and work out of McCain’s Virginia headquarters, while McAllister kept the office lights on back in Alaska.

But ever since last Tuesday, when all those campaign aides disbanded and scattered off to long-delayed vacations, McAllister has been inundated.  The requests for interviews are pouring in.  "Hundreds of ‘em," McAllister says.

And Palin is accepting.  She just did an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in Miami.  Tonight she’ll be the featured guest on Larry King Live.  Yesterday it was the Today Show with Matt Lauer.  On Monday Greta van Susteren came by to talk.  And there will be more before the week is through.

Palin arrived in Miami early this morning to attend the Republican Governors Association annual conference.  I hear it was quite the scene when she strolled through the lobby, en route to talk with Wolf.

"Looking Toward the Future" — that’s the title of the panel discussion Palin will appear at tomorrow morning.  She’ll likely talk about the future of the party.  Whither the GOP?  But a lot of people in the room will be wondering if that title isn’t just a little bit autobiographical as well.

Governor Palin is also expected to take questions from reporters in Miami.  By my count that will be the fourth press conference she’s done since election day.

"I would have preferred more opportunity to speak to the media more often," Palin told Fox News the other day. "Because there were a lot of things that I think it could have, should have said that could have, would have helped John McCain."

“Alaska governor Sarah Palin continues to get offers for publicity appearances, but this one might top them all. TNA wrestling is offering her $50,000 to the charity of her choice to join the villainous Beautiful People as an honorary member.”
How are we supposed to take this moron seriously when her own “peeps” are making a joke of her.

From another blogger! Oh, and another thing: I notice that whenever Sarah Palin is being interviewed, when the camera shifts to the interviewer, they all seem to have the same perplexed, awestruck look on their faces that this woman could have even been considered for such a high office, let alone a candidate! Whether it is Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson, Greta Van Susteran (I saw outtakes from that interview last night), Matt Lauer, etc., their appearances are similar! I give them credit for remaining as professional and objective as they do.
Have fun with your interview with Sarah Palin today, Wolf!! Good luck!

Go away already Palin! Take a hint. If people wanted to continue seeing you and listening to your senseless blabbering, we would have voted for you. We didn’t.

She will not make 2012 the media is just doing what they do…and she is falling for it again… This lady loves the spotlight…

The greatest danger Palin faces is the inability to know that she does not know! Even in her recent flurry of interviews, she revealed a big and gaping scope of ignorance.

None of her own “peeps” are making a joke of Sarah Palin, that was John McCain’s “peeps.” Pay attention hang.

hang …no one is expecting you or any other jealous liberal to take her seriously. you guys are scared…BHO has about 12 months to dance or the house and senate will be in jeopardy. she has got it all and is going to gain all the experience she needs in the next 4 years. sarah is a stud.

She’s gullible enough to believe that people still want to hear about her & delusional to think she has a snowball’s chance in 2012. Only Greta Van Susteren is desperate enough to continue to have her on her show and be her one-woman fan club. Greta, the election is over. Let Palin and the state of Alaska go back into hibernation. Palin has embarrassed enough people already.

Posted by: Mitsy | November 12, 2008, 5:44 pm 5:44 pm

Palin was nothing but a ploy, used and then abused, by the Republicans…and she is still so dumb, she doesn’t yet know it!!!

Does she know how irritating she is? Like a mosquito bite?
Has she heard of such concepts as humility, introspection?

Sarah Palin has gotten a taste of the spotlight & now she’s like a junkie, she can’t get enough. Being the family person she proclaimed to be, where is she finding the time? She’s been away from home for the last 3 months with the campaign & what does she do, leave again to do interviews. I’m sure the Alaskan taxpayers are loving this. Hypocrite.

Posted by: Dee Tee Gee | November 12, 2008, 5:58 pm 5:58 pm

She just announced she would be willing to work with Obama if he asked her. What is with this woman. She is nuts. Obama should hire her and stick her up north where no one will hear from her. Oh wait, that is where she was before McCain had the wisdom (of a goat) to pick her for his VP.

Posted by: unshrub | November 12, 2008, 6:02 pm 6:02 pm

It’s so funny to see how UPSET people get about Palin. Think she’s dumb? Everyone thought Regan was dumb too. I think she’s playing you. Anyway, why are you all still whining and complaining when you got your guy elected? You should be happy! Stop trashing Sarah, she having the last laugh.

Posted by: Chewy | November 12, 2008, 6:07 pm 6:07 pm

Maybe we could this period of time, “Palin Unleashed.”
Too bad the McCain didn’t “manage” her better. It was like putting a fire extinguisher to the fire when it is twenty below out.
Now America will get a better view and can decide if they like this new landscape.

Posted by: jim | November 12, 2008, 6:15 pm 6:15 pm

I told you she wouldn’t release her medical records
Doing interviews & believing she could be president in 2012 just proves that.
Go away Sarah

Posted by: Julie | November 12, 2008, 6:22 pm 6:22 pm

Sarah palin is an incredibly talented woman. She was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth so she put herself through college. She decided to get involved in her local community unlike many of us who complain but do nothing. She wanted to make more of an impact so she tried for a higher office, then an even higher office. I think if you look at her accomplishments alone you have to admit that she is an incredible person. For those who argue this you are practically calling all of the citizens of Alaska idiots. They gave her the highest approval rating of any Governor in the United States.
Stop feeling so threatened by this very talented woman and just accept that is here to stay.

Posted by: MacMama05 | November 12, 2008, 6:23 pm 6:23 pm

Bottom line: Palin a real person not some retread Washington Politician…thats why she doesn;t sound like a politician nor carries all the baggage that they have…a ton of lawyers and media people combed Alaska for dirt on her when she was announced…and found nothing of substance to pin on her…if Obama had had the same treatment by the media..he would have never been elected.
She has a ways to go to have the right experience to be President but time is on her side…..and she has the strong values and self confidence that will carry her far.

Posted by: Truthteller | November 12, 2008, 6:28 pm 6:28 pm

attn media: leave alaska. leave sarah alone. she has nothing of any substance to say. go out and cover real news. when sarah notices that there’s nobady there, she’ll go back to doing whatever it was she did before; governing a state with a population roughly the same as the city of scranton.

Posted by: antijake | November 12, 2008, 6:28 pm 6:28 pm

It’s not that the Republican party needs to reform itself, what we need to do is get back to common sense fiscal conservatism. While Sarah Palin seems to be getting all the attention she does NOT represent this belief. The state she governs, Alaska, has the highest government handout ($2,000 per year per resident) of any state in the country which gives it the distinction of being the #1 welfare state. Sarah is a social conservative who is led by her church. This is not the type of leadership we Republicans need. What we do need is a strong fiscal conservative to show us the way back to responsible government and I believe that person is S.C. Governor Mark Sanford. He will bring back the core fiscal conservative values that were held by William F Buckley and Barry Goldwater.

Sarah Palin, watching you is like watching a train wreck. That’s the only reason you are still in the news.

Posted by: Gender | November 12, 2008, 6:30 pm 6:30 pm

It is fun to see Sarah continues to turn libs into quivering masses of spineless fury. It truly is amazing. Your guy won the election but you are still mesmerized by Sarah and impotently trying to destroy her. You still cannot get past her. In reality, she has outwitted you and will continue to do so. You created Reagan with you mindless attacks and are now well on your way to creating Reagan II.
Amazing…

I think ABC is in Love with Palin, there is not a day that goes by that there is not a story about her, why don’t you give it a rest and stop giving these idiots on this blog red meat, they seem to salivate everytime they hear her name, especially the ignorant uniformed women. Give it a rest, the woman is back in Alaska, running her State, let her work there speak for her.

Posted by: Sienna | November 12, 2008, 6:36 pm 6:36 pm

It appears it will be non-stop Sarah Palin from here on into the 2004 election. Yes!!!! Every show she goes on has record ratings. She is the only one getting any press. Even Barry is drawing less attention.
She continues to exhibit that happy warriors heart despite the endless attacks from the impotent left. This will increase her standing with open minded Americans. She will continue to shape her agenda and will continue to win converts to her common sense conservatism.

Sienna, it isn’t just ABC news. It is all of the channels and all of the tv shows. Sarah draws a crowd, just as she did on the campaign trail. I think the press realizes that there is something there that is truly genuine. She is a future star of the political scene.

Posted by: Mitch | November 12, 2008, 6:41 pm 6:41 pm

Traditional Republican…please get your facts straight…the natural resources of Alaska that produce the state dividends to the citizens BELONG TO ALASKAN CITIZENS..not the oil companies that lease them..there is a partnership in place to share in the wealth of those resources that actually are public property…this is not the same as giving money to one group of people that don;t have ownership rights in the product or service that genereated that wealth…that what socialism is..giving money and benefits to those that didn;t earn it nor have any property rights to the assets that generated that wealth

Posted by: Truthteller | November 12, 2008, 6:43 pm 6:43 pm

Exactly what has Palin done that all these people hate her? I like the fact that Palin is an outsider, instead of some out of touch ivy league lawyer with a degree from Harvard, Yale, or other pompous school. She is one of us, an average citizen, that wanted to help her community/state/country. Our forefathers, you know the geniuses behind our Constitution, wanted citizens to go to Washington, help the country and then go home. How many bozos in Washington have been there forever? What have they accomplished…NOTHING. Congress and all offices need term limits. 2 terms, you are out. No more pompous politicians…we need more Sarah Palins.

Posted by: AJ | November 12, 2008, 6:49 pm 6:49 pm

James: “Exactly what has Palin done that all these people hate her?”
Nothing. Literally – her record in Alaska makes Obama, who has actually written some good laws on the books today, look experienced. Also, the majority of people have decided it’s nice to have someone intelligent and honestly good in government making policy, as opposed to an idiot just like me.

Posted by: jhw539 | November 12, 2008, 6:54 pm 6:54 pm

AJ,
What is happening with Sarah Palin now was predictable. The press went after her with a vengeance, repeating things they had to know were simply not true. Now they are getting a chance to actually talk to her, to share stories about their families, to look her in the eye and take the measure of the person. What are they finding? Sarah is a warm, optimistic, hard working, dynamic, and very intelligent woman. The press is biased agasinst conservatives in general but once they actual sit with someone of character, like Sarah, they find it much more difficult to support the smear campaign.
I only wish McCain had allowed her to hold open press conferences where this side could have come out.
AJ, if you ever meet her you will come to the same conclusion, and I believe you know this.

Posted by: curt | November 12, 2008, 6:56 pm 6:56 pm

mitch- I agree, but the viciouness of these people are unbelievable and it seems lie the way that they word the Headings of the story is to create drama. Sienna, don’t worry about the viviousness. Do you really believe these people can rattle her? Not even close! The left is attacking her for the same reason Lee Atwater attacked Bill Clinton. They see her as the most difficult opponent to beat in 2012. They will dismiss her, the will belittle her, they will throw themselves into fits of salivating hatred. Does not matter a bit. The American people want to hear her story and will be won over. With each over the top attack her enemies diminish their credibility. If they could not destroy her by now they never will.

If Ms. Palin really wants to help the new president she should go back to Alaska, watch Russia from her window, and keep her big mouth shut. There is nothing coming out of her mouth that is insightful and useful!! She has gall, though, offering Obama her ADVICE! And, by the way Ms. Palin, we already heard your rants about Ayers, and we have bigger problems.
By the way, I’m a registered Republican. Of course, not for long if Palin keeps taking up the party limelight.

But few Obama supporters have ever cracked open a history book anyway, so let’s not worry about that.
Right now, Palin is favored to be the frontrunner in 2012 by 64 percent of voters. Huckabee is second at 12 percent. She could galvanize the party in a way not seen since… well you know.

Instead of sitting around complaining like many of these anti-Palin bloggers, THE Alaskan Sarah Heath Palin got up, got motivated, and ran for office and then this “get er done” gal made the changes in govt she wanted to see happen. She cleaned house. Palin’s got courage and it’s going to take her far, regardless of her detractors opinions.

Posted by: Give Props Where Due | November 12, 2008, 7:25 pm 7:25 pm

Truthteller – The State of Alaska taxes the oil companies thru a severance tax. After collecting those taxes from the oil industry those revenues are put into Alaska’s general fund. Those funds are then redistributed to it’s residents whose only qualification is being a resident. Truthteller, you can go ahead and twist it or spin it any way you want but the bottom line is that redistribution of wealth is called socialism or welfare and Sarah Palin is the chief executive in charge of that give-a-way program. I’m a fiscal conservative and cannot and will not endorse a program like that. Palin is the reason we lost this election and I’ll do everything I can to block any attempt by her to seek the Republican nomination in 2012.

Posted by: Traditional Republican | November 12, 2008, 7:26 pm 7:26 pm

catman: “as his supporters(you) did not unite behind bush.”
Bush recieved unprecidented support in the wake of 9/11/2001. Compare the number of Democratic filibusters during the Republican control of the senate to the order of magnitude greater number during Democratic control of the Senate.
Claiming Democrats never united behind Bush is a lie. They gave him a rubber stamped blank check, which he handed over to Haliburton to invade Iraq.

PLEASE, keep Caribou Barbie off the air waves. Don’t give her free advertising for her future campaign for national office. For the sake of the nation and the preservation of our freedoms, the citizens of this great country need her to stay in Alaska. If she wants to serve, let her continue to keep an eye on Russia.

Posted by: Bob | November 12, 2008, 7:33 pm 7:33 pm

Wow….will someone call her (Palin) up and advise her on graciously going home and stop making herself a public spectacle! Her negativity just won’t quit! All the while, McCain and Obama are taking the road of politeness, a united country and good humor (acting with class). But the one to watch out for is ROMNEY…..lurking quietly, letting Palin dig her own hole, waiting for the Alaskan soap opera to come up with more gore and then his plan is to take over the GOP and shove her so far into the shadows of the Republican party, her name won’t even be recognizable. His mind is always working four years ahead,,,,ask the people of Massachusetts. When that carpetbagger was elected governor of Massachusetts….he was already running for president and he never did a thing to benefit the state. Which is a good question for all the candidates….do you get paid for being governor or senator while you are campaigning for president? How can I get that kind of paid leave to look for a new job?

Posted by: carameg | November 12, 2008, 7:39 pm 7:39 pm

This woman is a brutal animal killer as well and a hateful person who spread venom with her words.

And also too another intricately constructed sentence from Sarah Palin:
“And I speak for other Republicans, other Republican governors also, they being willing also to, again, seize this opportunity that we have to progress this nation together, a united front.”
And another also too again another also from the same interview:
“And that bodes well for our president also and other things also that bode well for President Bush…”

Sarah got mavericky this week with the word “progress.”
With Greta Van Susteren:
…We had to be able to put up with that and take that in order to progress the message.
…But it was just for the representation of a woman on the ticket, a mom, somebody who loves this country so much, somebody very, very committed to policies that I believe will progress this country in the right direction.
With Matt Lauer:
…We tried to articulate, that we were the true change that would progress this nation.
With Wolf Blitzer:
And I speak for other Republicans, other Republican governors also, they being willing also to, again, seize this opportunity that we have to progress this nation together, a united front.
Now is the time to move on and to, again, make sure that all of us are doing all that we can to progress this nation.
Now is the time to move forward together, start progressing America.

Hey- Maybe you and Traditional Republican can sit up all night formulating how your all white, evangelical, conservative version of the GOP party will survive. Meanwhile, younger- more NON Partisan, inclusive, pro military, green energy pushing GOP members will work hard to move the country forward. And to AJ- you are failing to point out there were plenty of misogynist and crude remarks made towards Palin (at Obama rallies) and Obama did not stop them either. Radicals exist in both camps, but they do not represent the candidates. And furthermore- I could care a less if Palin articulates three sentences at once- I DO however care that she gets things done. I’m actually growing accustomed to “Palin Speak’.

Ohhh Nicole- Run a state much? (Alaska) Anyone calling Palin an idiot proves THEY are an idiot. Palin might be less than articulate, but she is VERY effective in cleaning up corruption, downsizing government, and balancing budgets. How sad that you, a woman Nicole, trash on another woman’s success. Feminist much? I’m laughing because Palin is just getting started.

1. I read your bitter post calling me bitter. humorous – thanks for the laugh.
2. The topic of the Blog Post is Palin and you mention ‘green energy”, something desperately needed in this country. So you are for pinning the hopes of our party on a person who does NOT believe global warming is man-made and only understands energy from a drill baby drill policy.?
3. I suspect Traditional Republican feels like I do so staying up all night to further determine how our “white, evangelical conservative side of the party will survive” would be a complete misjudgment on your part. That part of our party has hijacked the party and I don’t think you paid too much attention to my post, but that is NOT the direction the Republican party needs to go.
4. Younger voters ages 18- 29 years old voted for Obama 66% – 32%. Most of the “NON Partisan, inclusive, pro military, green energy pushing GOP members” I know voted Democrat this time around because there was no place for them in the Republican party.
You should think before throwing bitter around. It doesn’t fit and it really doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Good luck to you – I would say “good riddance”, but I’m not that rude.

People are discussing her ….. and I’m reading the comments!
She is not qualified, is no role model … a “pro-life” animal killer, with no respect for the planet, and frankly it scares the hell out of me that some people seem to think she’s a godsend.
This is messed up beyond belief.

As long as Palin keeps in the media -Tina Fay will have a job mocking her, and I will be happy. But in truth Palin is the poster child about why we need to organize and protest against evangelical churches. As long as she keeps talking, people will understand why this government can not be influenced by her type of right wingyness.

Why is Sarah Palin the spotlight because the liberal media is asking her to do interviews…she is not asking them…they know about ratings…for christs sake all you lower 48 ONES sit for hours fawning over Paris Hilton and Brit Brit…its ratings baby…SNL! As I read through these comments and others regarding Palin, I’ve noticed that Palin supporters often say something to the effect that those who don’t trust/like Palin are “so afraid” of her implying that we are quivering and cowering as we look up at her towering strength and power. This is such nonsense. We were “afraid” that she might indeed be “a heartbeat away from the presidency, yes, but the reasons are her lack of intelligence, her dogmatic appeal to people’s base instincts, her lack of anything substantial to say, and the list goes on. These are some of the reasons we were “afraid” that she be anywhere near a position of power in this country. So I think it ludicrous when her supporters misinterpret our concern.
Palin supporters also like to say that we are jealous of her and that we don’t like the idea of this er umm “successful” juggling woman being in office. That is absurd. Whether a candidate is a man or woman, juggling or not, any sane voter wants a true leader with intelligence, strength of character, honesty, compassion, and a genuine desire to lead the country in the right direction.
Palin might be a good cheerleader, adept at shouting slogans with vehemence and zeal, but behind all that was nothing of substance. She really had nothing to offer. Period.
It also concerned me that, if chosen, she would spill everything to her snowboarding (snowmobiling?) husband, if not actually demanding that he be present at all meetings. That in itself is “scary.” Maybe I’m being presumptuous in assuming that could happen, but that is the feeling I got.
I think she also shows streaks of a manipulative nature. After bad-mouthing Obama, she is now trying to weasel her way into his good graces by saying she’d be “honored” to work with him. Yeah right.
I am going to try my best to refrain from adding to these comments, as I think the fewer people who make them, the better. Maybe the articles on Palin, and thus the spotlight, will dwindle and dry up.

I for one think that it would be great if Palin actually ran for the office of President in 2012.
Think about it for a minute folks. There are several great reasons::
a) All the ignorant “6 packers” from her so called “rallies” would ensure she gets the nomination for the GOP.
b) It’ll be a SLAM DUNK for OBAMA-BIDEN once more in 2012!
At least this time around, there was a ‘war hero gone wrong’ candidate. In 2012, it’ll be this self-promoting moron.
c) It’ll be entertaining. I can’t wait for more saturday night skits.

Is the State of Alaska paying for Governor Palin to do these interviews? Is the State paying for her travel, hotels, food, etc…and just how does this benefit them?
The Election is over.
Mrs Palin is still the Governor of Alaska, so when will she get back to governing that State, and leave the rest of us in peace?

Posted by: MyAudacity | November 12, 2008, 10:42 pm 10:42 pm

Oh, btw. Alaska should sack her for two reasons::
a) Making thier entire state look stupid. If the best pick for governor is so stupid and you give her 80% approval, then I’m sorry for you all up there.
b) She’s only interested in finding open doors to promote her own career and not about doing much about alaska.

paige and visionquest.. I think you’ve got it all wrong. The scary part is not that Sarah is good or bad. I’m sure she’s a good person like any other normal person is good. The scary part is.. how in the world did someone with so little curiosity, knowledge or competence get so far as to become gov and then being on a presidential ticket?
The scary part is not sarah, the scary ppart is that there are oo many people llike you’all who have never bothered to understand the real issues and are swayed by emotion that are not based on facts or intellect. that’s the scary part.
The reason Sarah has garnered such interest is not that she’s rallying so many people behind her, she’s actually also motivated a lot more people to step up and vote against her.
Read the newspapers, it’s Barack Obama and Biden who will be running the white house. It means, this woman was overwhelmingly rejected.
Tickets to alaska are selling cheap. you may want to consider.

My take on Palin is that she cannot accept any explaination for charges she has made against Obama. I have heard Obama explain his relation with Ayers several times and it is always clear that the only long term association he had with Ayers was on a charity committee. Bulldog will not accept this. Obama terminated his association with Wright and explained his long time association with Wright. Bulldog with not accept this. Sarah where are your medical records that you promised? Your word means nothing to me until these records are released. Sarah why did your church try to get rid of the witch in you? Must not have worked. Oh by the way I am not in my pajamas. All the comments made against Sarah Palin are from people that are nobody’s. These people have never accomplished a thing in their lifetime and never will. They will always be what they are NOTHING! They couldn’t campaign for any office in politics because they lack the intelligence to do so. I can tell by their words they are eaten up with jealousy and hate. Maybe they it comes from their mother’s and father’s who were the exact same when they were young. Or maybe it was the upbringing they didn’t get.

Posted by: Mariann Pepitone | November 13, 2008, 12:36 am 12:36 am

We love Gov. Sarah and her family. Millions of Americans love and admire pro-American values and Gov. Sarah is a fine example. The grade school taunts cannot ever take away from her superior intelligence, commonsense, goodness and decency. We just hope and pray Comrade Obama and Big Mike have not done too much damage to our country until 2012.

Posted by: pjd | November 13, 2008, 12:53 am 12:53 am

Stringer: Face the facts. We all know that Obama is an associate of Bill Ayers so why hide it. We also know that he was a racist, white hating anti-american for 20 years. Sarah is right about Ayers. And the majority of this generation of college student’s voted for him and would have even if he had a prison record. They have no knowledge whatsoever who is good for the country and who isn’t. Palin never associated with people like Obama did and neither did McCain or other president’s. And he is going to make several blunder’s that will be costly. The worst is yet to come.

Posted by: Mariann Pepitone | November 13, 2008, 12:54 am 12:54 am

pjd: You are so right and most of the women on this board and men also are built up with jealousy and hate over the fact that she is so popular and might run for the presidency in 2012. That’s why the republican’s are preparing themselves for the run now instead of waiting. I believe they want her to keep getting interviews so she can prepare herself for it. That’s the good news. All the democrat dogs will be living in fear once that happens. They believe they have a gem in Obama but they are so stupid they realize that the reason Obama is choosing many of Clinton’s people, they will train him for the presidency. He doesn’t have the knowledge of politics or foreign policy. He chose Emanuel who is Jewish but is having a meeting with Hamas whom Emanuel does not like. I can just see the friction that is going to cause. But that’s the democrats for you.

Posted by: Mariann Pepitone | November 13, 2008, 1:10 am 1:10 am

I’m soooo jealous of her communication skills:
No, no, because, uh, you know I’m sure that some of my impatience showed through in that, uh, in that interview, um, I think it also showed though that certainly as a Washington outsider and as somebody not, um, not, uh, one to just, uh, I guess kinda play even the, the campaigning media game that is played in, in, in just repeating perhaps memorized lines in a, in an interview. That’s not me.

Posted by: Rudy | November 13, 2008, 1:22 am 1:22 am

Sarah Palin gave herself away when she tried to be modest by saying that God would let her know if she should run in 2012. She is precisely that mixture of religious zeal and lack of interest in her own intellectual growth that is always to be feared. This is how demagogues are born.

Posted by: Bob Long | November 13, 2008, 1:26 am 1:26 am

Rudy: You sound just like Obama in a debate and he stuttered and said ah,ah,ah because he couldn’t think of the answer to the question. I know he is a Harvard graduate but so are thousand’s of other’s. What is his excuse. Because he was at the head of this class doesn’t mean he didn’t come out an ass.

Posted by: Mariann Pepitone | November 13, 2008, 1:34 am 1:34 am

Susan: And don’t you wish you were getting those offers instead of Palin. Sure you do and so do thousand’s of other women who didn’t try to accomplish any goals in their lifetime. And so do many of the men. The trouble with you and the others is that you fear she is going to take the publicity away from blackbarack. And that might just happen. Get ready for it. Obama will get plenty of publicity when the trouble starts in paradise.

I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!
Keep up the Sarah bashing, it energizes her base even more. You betcha you guys are scared, even if you can’t admit it. Sarah will be the great unifier, when the time is right.
Sarah will gain the backing of many people from many party affiliations, especially after BO runs this country into the ground. Many of her backers are sick of the old style republicans. We have seen our GOP drift quietly toward center left hoping the people won’t notice. History has told us when Republicans start acting like democrats, they will always lose elections.
You know, Regan in his defeat delivered a positive unifying message that continued to energize the repulican party, even in defeat. McCain has not done that. He’s delivered a message that continues to divide the party to this day.
If McCain was the leader I thought he was, his message would have been different IMHO. So, I am starting to see that it was probably a good thing he did not get elected. Not that I am happy to have BO as president, but McCain might have damaged the party even further once he was in office. This is all speculation and hersay on my part, but I am becoming enlightened everyday.
I believe Palin will be the great unifier, I am just not sure when (and neither is she). She is slated for greatness, and that’s why people cannot stop trying to figure her out or bash her down. She scares the pants off democrats AND republicans.
Sarah’s loyalty lies not with the democrats or the republicans, but with the people. She will come down hard on someone doing wrong with no prefrence to weather they are a republican or a democrat. AND GOSH DARNIT THAT IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE!
Our representative leaders do not serve a party affiliation, THEY SERVE US! You and me! We take a large chunk of our earnings to pay the salaries of our elected officials, so that means they work for us. We are their bosses and every decision they make should be based on the will of the people who pay their salaries. Governor Sarah Palin understands this explicitly. She governs her entire life that way, and it is one of the reasons so many people stand behind her.
I know I will follow her to the ends of the earth and back! She will be the great unifier, when we are ready to make it happen for real.

As many Canadians the Us Presidential Election Campaign was of high interest to me.
I am particularly appalled with Sarah Palin. From the beginning I though that this woman had very little of “what it takes” to be representing the People of the United States.
Ms. Palin simply did not qualify for the office of the Vice-President. Although clever and attractive, she has not handled herself well during debates making many erroneous statements and not answering questions to the satisfaction of the American People.
I feel as others do, that she would likely make irrational and irresponsible decision if ever elected. On the international level, her approach to her own and other political parties has been tactless and disrespectful. I cringe when I hear her speak and what comes out of her mouth is unbelievably stupid. A distinct liability. She is incapable of independent decision making and would require very strong party support and I think that the members would become very dubious of her. She does not have the leadership qualifications or the ability of decision making. Her personal agenda appears to be taking priority over the support and concern for the average American Citizen. Her whole angle is for self representation with a lot of immature ego on the side. In other words, “you’re not running for the popular votes for high school Prom Queen here, Sarah so, put a lid on it. You’re becoming very tiresome. Your country is undergoing many vital changes which will require extraordinary effort in order to develop and implement these changes and the ability to make significant contributions to these new objectives.
If you are ever elected to represent your country, you’d all be in one hell of a mess.
Sarah, you simply do not have it. For heaven’s sake accept this graciously and just go home.
A concerned Canadian

The media is forcing Palin into the spotlight. Nevertheless, what do Democrats get so upset about? If she has no chance in 2012, then let her run. Thats what primaries are for. Why are they so worried about it? I’d be more worried about whether this country will even be functioning in four years.

“Ms. Palin simply did not qualify for the office of the Vice-President. Although clever and attractive, she has not handled herself well during debates making many erroneous statements and not answering questions to the satisfaction of the American People.”
—————–
Palin had little to no time to make preparations for her run as VP. If she ran on her own, she would do much better, having the time develop her own stances on issues and being able to prepare to defend her philosophies. The GOP held her down this time around. She was forced to say what they wanted her to say, and she was thrown into the fire of the media without the freedom to speak her mind. I have a feeling that we will see a different version of Palin in 2012, for better or worse.

Posted by: Mike | November 13, 2008, 7:46 am 7:46 am

Sarah Palin is a divider and not a uniter. Half the Republican party hates her and blames her for McCains loss. If she can’t even get the support of her own party how does she figure she could ever be elected President. Anyone notice her last few campaign rally’s where she took McCains name off the posters? Instead of the posters reading ‘McCain/Palin’ they read ‘Palin Country’. No wonder the McCain camp is fighting mad and trying to bring her down.

BLITZER: “Gov. Palin, before the election, you were speaking with James Dobson of Focus on the Family. and you said that you were confident that God would do the right thing for America on November 4th. Did God do the right thing for America?”
PALIN: “I don’t know if that was my specific quote.”
Ok, here is her specific quote. “I’m going to know at the end of the day, putting this in God’s hands, that the right thing for America will be done, the end of the day on November 4th.”
Is that somehow different from what Wolf said? Wasn’t she saying that the outcome would be God’s will?

WHAT IS VERY SERIOUS, is the media, and people in the republican party are promoting a person who is fairly dangerous wit respect to her views and her lack of knowledge on most topics outside of anything concerning Alaska. On top of that, she has shown to be vindictive and fairly unable to take any advice/instruction from anyone. She doesn’t listen.
A wise person knows that he/she does not know everything, and thus, will invite, seek, and listen to the words of others, in order to increase the chances of finding the best resolution or idea to any problem or opportunity.
A fool KNOWS EVERYTHING, so they do not seek advice, nor are they humble enough to accept knowledge from others, because of their own delusions of greatness, and intolerance of those who are perceived more learned or equipped than themselves.
People are treating this as a joke. People are wanting to place Palin in the light and in powerful positions, out of spite. This is a sign of sickness, in that your own personal feelings of revenge or wanting to create chaos, is more important than trying to save this nation from turmoil.
To me, Palin consistently shows signs of instability, and she her character is very much flawed. She lies as if lying was a normal acceptance. She refuses to take responsibility for anything that isn’t glorifying herself. (not the sign of a true leader) … and she is full of herself.
If she did not have a nice smile, and catchy phrases, the media, nor the republican party, nor the people of Alaska, .. would have payed any attention to Palin. She offers ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to be labeled as profound. … she just doesn’t.

Posted by: Vince | November 13, 2008, 8:19 am 8:19 am

Palin spent the whole presidential campaign attacking Obama on non-issues. She had no idea on how to communicate political ideologies with respect to her party, in any type of profound depth.
She has been labeled as the most negative of all of the candidates, and STILL, she refuses to accept that any of her comments have been negative, or harmful to anyone. Geez, she’s had people at her rally yelling out racial slurs and other comments that would be labeled riotous; still, she made no attempt to put a stop to it.
Obama, nor Biden made any comment directed towards Palin, even though they could have thrown the book at her. Still, she took her “opportunity” to claim sexism and unfairness when she found any hint of any reference that might be remotely perceived as valid. She wanted to play the victim role, sooooooo bad.
Extremely manipulative, and cold, is what I see in Palin. The media needs to stop feeding her psychosis, the people of Alaska need to get her out of office, Sarah needs to take care of her child/children, and she needs to seek therapy.

Posted by: Vince | November 13, 2008, 8:28 am 8:28 am

MY FINAL COMMENT: Anyone who uses god to manipulate people, is a no no….
Next, she will be trying to get the masses to drink kool-aid, and meet her in paradise, as she will be placed in position to rule the universe, and shoot at stars, as they will explode and bring new life to cosmos.
Geez, are you media people for real? Stop it.

All you Palin bashers either have blinders on, or are dumber than you THINK she is. She gave praise to Obama and Michelle. She has more graciousness than any of you.

The race for the WH was pretty nearly neck and neck up until the Democratic Convention, and quite vicious in tone. Obama got a pretty good boost from the convention. Mccain countered that boost by selecting a virtually unknown female governor from Alaska. Enter Sarah Palin. The lower 48 said, “Who?”. The mad dash to Alaska was on, to try and find out who she was, what she stood for, what her record was, what her qualifications were. Since the RNC refused to allow her to do a press conference or an interview for the first 2 weeks after the convention, there was no other way to get info about her. After all, the election was barely 2 months away! Then we found out about Troopergate, and her pregnant unwed teenage daughter, and her neo-conservative ideology, and her fundamentalist religious views, and her heavy-handed egotistical management style. The GOP base loved her and Mccain got a big bounce, but the rest of the country was pretty shocked that she was chosen. Then she spoke in a couple of interviews. She came across as clueless, unqualified, uninformed, unintelligent, and frankly annoying. At least she did to the Democrats, and apparently to a lot of independents as well. Her approval started to slip. By the time the election came, more people disapproved of her than approved of her. She was a big part of the reason Mccain lost. Now she’s positioning herself for possibly running as president in 2012. This is great news………….for the Democrats!

actually, she was on the campaign trail for 7 weeks and was drawing almost as big of crowds as the annointed one, crowds 3 times the size of mcccain’s, and 20 times the size of the joe the biden. Sure, she’s giving interviews: celebrity interviews (How does she feel? What are her plans?) She could have given those all along. The ones she couldn’t give were on her substance (or any substance at all) as a VP candidate, one heart beat away, etc. Foreign affairs, affairs of state, government, law…you know, governmental business.
My sincere hope is that the Alaska senate seat goes Democratic, as it seems it might this morning, thus not giving Palin a side-door to it. She’d have to run on her merits, and that saves us all from any further Palin.

First off, it was the GOP and the Mccain campaign who ‘annointed’ Obama, calling him the Messiah, not the DNC or his supporters. Second, her hate rallies to her hard-core base simply means she can whip up a partisan crowd into a frenzy – great quality for a possible second-in-command, or even president. Third, the media didn’t hate her – how could they, she wasn’t allowed to speak with them? Mccain shoves this unknown woman onto the national stage 2 months before the election, and you expected, what? That no one would question her? Her roots, her history, her ideology, her beliefs, her knowledge? Did you expect the American public to simply say ‘Oh, OK, Mccain chose her so she must be the perfect and best candidate for the job’? Get real! Face facts: she was a VERY POOR CHOICE FOR MCCAIN! Her selection showed the world that Mccain put himself and his campaign above the best interests of the country, period. He gambled and he lost. He showed very poor judgment. And the people responded by electing his opponent. End of game.

U S Patriot – Sorry to disappoint you dude but I voted for and donated to the McCain campaign. Yes, I was disppointed that John McCain did not pick Mitt Romney as his running mate. Romney would have helped McCain in the area that he was the weakest in and that was the economy. Palin added nothing to the campaign other than to help solidify the radical right wing of the Republican party, i.e., the social conservatives and the religious evangelical bigots. It’s time for us real republicans to take our party back and rebuild it with ‘fiscal’ conservatives.

Posted by: Traditional Republican | November 13, 2008, 10:21 am 10:21 am

Traditional Republican-
your first mistake is ever even thinking McCain had a chance (i donated to him too). Romney should have gotten the nomination but his flip-flopping on abortion worried some of the crazy evangelicals in our party. Romney would have crushed Barry in the debates, but McCain somehow got the nomination because the press wanted him to get nominated and knew he would never win the presidency.
Our party doesn’t win with liberal republicans like bob dole and john mccain. We win with ultra-conservatives like ronald reagan, george bush sr(before he raised taxes during his first term and lost to clinton), george w. bush, romney, palin.
Our goals our simple…
small gov’t
small taxes
big military
McCain was basically hillary in a suit- he was even opposed to drilling in ANWR because of “climate change”(fomerly “global warming” before the temps started to inconveniently drop).
He’s soft on immigration, taxes and has never been a CONSERVATIVE

“The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won’t be buried under their damn flag.” – Joe Vogler, AIP founder
And what does Sarah Palin say to the AIP? “Keep up the good work and God bless you.”

Posted by: WWW | November 13, 2008, 10:35 am 10:35 am

I see profound reasoning here:
Some want Palin to run, because she drew big crowds.
Some want Palin to run, becasue she is a woman.
Both reasons are of an illogical nature, if your goal is to have this country rid itself of crisis.
Palin drew crowds of anger and hatred. Her crowds were not, at all, diverse. You are not going to win an election with a bunch of hateful people, who do not tolerate others that do not resemble them. The reason is, there are not enough of them in this country, as the election has shown.
Some women are for Palin becasue , she is a woman. If you ask them what other reason, they might say, because she is nice, or speaks confidently. … and yet, these are not criteria that would cause someone with common sense, to seek out a person who has such qualities, to be a leader of a nation. Yet, there are those who would rather put this country in more of a jeopardy, than to seek out someone who is the most qualified. Talk about affirmative action, geez… at least find a woman who gives some resemblance of a competent candidate.
The basis of the philosophy of the GOP, during the election, was, think with ill=logic. Just find ways to bring people out, no matter what. Find a woman, dress her up, have her read the prompt, “we’re bound to catch a few fish.”
Well, now, now that it has backfired, the worst has happened; you have this woman thinking that she is worthy of being president now. I’d think, that if you had gone and taken an employee from McDonalds, who was flippin’ burgers, and told them that you wanted them to run for vice-president, they’d have had as much vital information to espouse as Palin did. … and soon, they too would believe that they could be president.
The GOP has injected our country with a deadly virus, and no one seems to be aware. Palin has no interest in the welfare of ALL people of america. She has no interest in what is going on around the world either. She ignores what is of no interest to her, BLATANTLY. Her mission is to bring glory to herself, and build her families kingdom… that is it. She has shown, in no such way, any interest in other than promoting herself ahead of any good that does not benefit her and hers.

Are you so blinded by your prejudices that you can decry what he said and meant? He never said America deserved 9/11 – that is a lie from the Mccain campaign, quoting something entirely out of context and attributing it to him. Oooooooh, wait a minute. I see what you did. Go Palin-
You are wrong in your assessment.
The State of Alaska imposes a ‘severance tax’ on the oil and gas industry in Alaska as do the states of Montana and Wyoming. Those severance taxes are then put into the general funds of all 3 of those states. What set’s Alaska apart from Montana and Wyoming is that Alaska residtributes those funds to the citizens of Alaska and the only qualification they need to receive those funds is to be a resident. No matter how you want to spin it, that redistribution of wealth is socialism or welfare and Sarah Palin is the Chief Executive Officer who distributes that money in Alaska. By comparison, Montana and Wyoming does not give $2,000 a year to every resident based on the fact that they are residents. Alaska is a socialist state, pure and simple.

“Alaska is a socialist state, pure and simple.”
Not so much.
The defining characteristic of socialism is public ownership of the means of production. When Venezuala nationalizes oil company assets such as refineries, and the government operates such assets and distributes the profits to the citizenry, that’s socialism.
When the bailout of AIG results in an 80% ownership stake by taxpayers, that could arguably be considered socialism, although a better description might be taxpayer equity.
Neither a 3-4% adjustment to the income tax rate nor the Alaska Permanent Fund dividend are socialism. Even if the top tax bracket hits 91%, it’s not socialism. As long as the means of production are controlled by private entities, it’s not socialism.
If you want to redefine the word “socialism” to include any system that redistributes wealth, then the following are all socialist: Obama’s Plan, McCain’s Plan, Bush’s Plan, the Alaska Permanent Fund dividend, the collection plate at your church, the Salvation Army, the Red Cross, the Shriners…

vince your analysis of the election appears well thought out but it is significantly false . reality is that a dead chicken could have beaten mc cain. to only win by 4 points is truly a slap in the face considering all bush has done and how the economy tanked during the home stretch of the election, in addition three times the money of mc cain. anyone could have won. infact hilary would have won by 10 points. thats what the liberals dont see. that is also why sarah palin is so significant. she has got all the tools and people do like her. we will grow tired of the elitist barak quickly as most of us are not well educated and will lose sight of the big picture.we yearn for simple straight talk. jimmy carter was an intelectual and a good man but he lost the american public when the economy did not turn around. no diffrence now.sarah palin is a role model for all. she doesent whine or wear her emotions on her sleve, she did something with her life.sheis HAPPY being married, having kids and likes her husband. that drives the female liberal media nuts, because they are bitter hags. cosequently they want evry other women to be a bitter hag. sarah can. yes she can.

Palin looks and talks like them. They do not care that she promotes bigotry. They do not care that she has no interest in foreign affairs. They do not care that she lacks in depth knowledge on how to run a government.
They just see themselves in her, and go with that. If those people formulated a country, and Palin an that country, … that country would fail.

Wow, the Obama cult is still running scared of Governor Palin!
Hey, I’m reading this story because I voted for her. Why are you here?
Just because you have an overwhelming desire to let the world know how much you hate her guts?
Whew.
Uh, NOT exactly the “new” kind of politics we were all promised by The One, huh?

Vince
you are right, if Palin ever said she was never proud of her country, only to clarify the next day that she had never been proud of her country in her ADULT life, I would never vote for her. I know love of country is not a big thing for liberals though, they hate America.

Vince – im hoping i can have a civil debate with you. I can understand why you dont think Sarah was ready for presidency this year, she’s relatively new. I see it differently though and think that if someone like sarah who is a real person, mum of 5, can get the job as governor of Alaska, get an approval rating of 80% (highest of any governor), has proven to actually change things around, then i just cant see why she would be any different on the national/international stage.
she has a lot of guts and is very energising when she talks, she has something that most politicians dont – the ability to speak directly to the average americans.

As i said, i love how the Dems are getting so antsy about the thought of Sarah Palin still being so popular and all the news networks reporting on her, falling over eachother to get her to do an interview. she’s more popular then the president-elect

Well you should have realised with this election that not all Dems were falling in line with BO – they were disgusted with the way hillary and Bill were treated. Not everyboyd has to like Sarah, but the republican party needs a new direction and i think Sarah proved that she is what americans like. she had 60,000 people at a rally, a VP candidate shouldnt be getting this, but she did.

Louise -
It’s more than the Dems being antsy, it’s you Republicans that are doing all the infighting. Just look at this forum. There seems to be a philosophical differnece within the Republican party. You are split between Social Conservatism and Fiscal Conservatism and there is a power struggle going on over it. I think before you start getting to overconfident about your future you might want to resolve those differences. Yes, I agree that the Republican party has some new faces that may become major players and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal may be one of them. As far as Sarah Palin is concerned, she has a very limited appeal to about 30% of the Republican party. After this past election she’s damaged goods and I think her political career is essentially over.

Posted by: PhilBgood | November 13, 2008, 12:35 pm 12:35 pm

If Sarah Palin would have looked forward during the campaign, insead of looking into Obama’s past, McCain may have made it a closer race.
Some love to make Sarah the punch line of jokes.
I enjoy reading comments about Palin (very positive or very negative, no middle road with her).
She’s your candidate, so stand by her!

PhilBgood – sarah palin has an approval rating of 65% amongst republicans, thats the number that want her to run 2012 (Rasmussen poll last week). She is a huge figure in the republican party now and as i said she is eitehr going to get out and help someone else get elected, or she will be out there herself. I like Jindall, he is one very smart man and is also very popular in his state. It will be an interesting few years to see how this pans out

Louise, while I understand the concept of you you’re saying there? And get the importance of “the base?” This one falls under “just because you can does it make it right?” I would be embarrassed to call myself republican with this hateful nonsense going on. (I’m a centrist). I find this “anti all of those other people” dangerous to our country, NOT American and just not the type of world I want to leave for my kid here. Somewhere a whole bunch of republicans lost that whole “united” thing. History tells us with all civilizations that inside division was key before their fall. This is exactly what Palin’s brand of politicing is. It’s ugly and harmful. I know the games, I understand it. But the bar got raised on some big ugly. I also think it’s about as UNChristian as it can get as well.

less gov’t
less taxes

As for your comments about the republican party- not too insightful.. We never win the election when we nominate liberal conservatives like McCain. He was basically Hillary Clinton with an incredible record of military service to his country.

I will say this for as long as i need to, Sarah Palin has the ability to rile up the republican base because of her values/beliefs etc., and she will help someone become the next president (whether its her or one of the other rising stars i.e. Jindal)”
I agree she does make for some fun conversation. Her ability to rile up the base has been proven, but what does that do for the GOP? Preaching to the choir is no way to run a campaign or win an election. Based on her performance over the last 2 months, the independents will never, ever support her. And they are the ones who decide elections. BTW, her approval rating in Alaska has slipped to somewhere in the mid 50′s since September. Frankly I hope she DOES get involved in the 2012 election. It would only help the Democrats.

Posted by: SearamblerOne | November 13, 2008, 12:45 pm 12:45 pm

palin4prez – Phil was spot on. Somehow you fail to consider Bush’s record on growing the government and raising entitlement (his record is far higher than Clinton had). Not to mention the military is far weaker under his watch. You guys lost “fiscal” a while ago, and if you keep proping up this social ideology that is so harsh it will backfire. Not to mention how hateful the promotion of it is. This spoken by a person that would like to go “republican” if you could find a real one now. You allowed entirely too many religious people to get pushy and take over. It’s a turn off that they want to make policy. You’re having a complete identity crisis and the moderates are fleeing.

Posted by: Susan-1 | November 13, 2008, 12:47 pm 12:47 pm

Her approval rating in Alaska is high because she raised those oil checks and they have not had to make a single ugly cut due to budget concerns. All will tell you it’s hard not to be liked when the money is flowing. If it’s so high why did the voter turn out go so low?

Posted by: Susan-1 | November 13, 2008, 12:49 pm 12:49 pm

Searambler – thats why i think she will either help someone get elected and be a key figure in changing the face of the republican party, or if its proven that she is still as popular as she is now in 3 years then maybe she’ll run herself. All i know is that she has a bright future ahead.
Vince – obama won more states, thats for sure, but the race in the swing states were pretty close. Mccain still had around 48% of the votes in those states and that makes you realise that there is still a base out there that could work hard a tip an election in favour of the GOP

And how has that worked out under the current Bush administration? Biggest government in history, biggest deficit in history, biggest national debt in history, biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression, 2 wars at the same time which have stretched our military to near the breaking point. If, after 4 years, Obama hasn’t performed the damage control needed to start changing things around from the Bush presidency debacle, then he will be voted out of office. Even if that were to happen, I will go on record here and now as saying that it will NOT be Palin who defeats him. After that log onto Homeland Security and read the giant “OBL is plotting a big one” story. Do tell, why is OBL still alive Palin4?

Searambler keep rambling…
Iraq was voted and endorsed by
John Kerry
John Edwards
Hillary Clinton
Joe the Biden
It was neccessary to go there no matter how many ABC specials you watch telling you otherwise.
The financial crisis is completely on the democrats hands but the mainstream media has ignored the connection and thus president Bush’s head has been on the choppin block.
Chris Dodd
Chuck Shumer
Barney Frank
Bill Clinton
Jimmy Carter
Barry Obama
Have all pushed that the banks “discriminate against the poor” and have literally forced these institutions to erase their lending standards. Of course their have been predatory lenders and those CEO’s should go to jail. But the real cause of this financial crisis is due to democrats constantly being the messiah’s of the poor only to screw everyone else in the process and enslaving those they give these entitlements to.

Palin4 – Bush Co. messed with the SEC. See, subprimes were approx. 10% of all loans and the market should have been able to withstand this. However in 2004 five bankers asked the SEC chair to raise the limit on the amount of risk banks could hold. One of the five bankers? Paulsen. They agreed. In 2005 they put Chris Cox in charge of the SEC. They began to back off enforcement and lower fines big time. McCain was right. Cox needs to be fired. And if you think this is all some democrat thing? You are going to learn big time otherwise here shortly. The republican administration got entirely too reckless. P.S. Fannie, etc. paid off BOTH sides of the isle on legislation.

It was George Bush who 6 years ago said that we could be heading into a problem with the housing market becoming way too inflated (although you are correct- he got caught up in all of the hype of liberal hippies spreading communism of everything being fair/equal/rosey and he should have done more…)
But what exactly could he have said to make people understand? Should he have said “hey! quit giving loans to everyone without any qualifications!” Do you know what the libs would have screamed from the rooftops”YOU REPUBLICANS JUST DON’T LIKE POOR PEOPLE”

Palin is the face of the modern GOP and the media knows it – they wouldn’t line up to request an interview with her if they thought otherwise. Those of you who thought Palin would fade away into the Alaskan sunset really weren’t paying attention during the election were you?
In 2012, after four years of a tax-and-spread president, new taxes on gasoline, wasteful social programs that do nothing and higher-then-ever energy costs, voters will welcome the conservative approach of the Republicans. I don’t know if she’ll run for president, but she’ll definately be a major party player. Also keep your eye on Bobby Jindahl and Jeb Bush’s oldest son, who is shaping up to be an important in the Republican Hispanic community.

Jill:
I am an american. For the first time, in my adult life, I am proud that I don’t see america as a racist country. Does that make me unpatriotic? Is it unpatriotic to have an opinion about your country?
I know of some parents, who have had children, who had been “do nothings,” and in trouble with the law, .. and then… they changed for the better. The parents, admitted that, for the first time, in a long time, they were proud of their child. Does that mean, that they did not love their child?
To The Rev Wrighters:
What, exactly did he say, that was false? Or .. evil?
He siad, america has a past, of extreme racism, murder, hangings, discrimination, hatred, and so forth… AND the effects of that stuff, still lingers in MANY ways.
… and that, considering the evil that has been done, and is still being done, God would dam* this action, and if a whole country promoted it, … same for the country.
Was he wrong? Does God promote hatred? Does God promote segregation, even in housing today? Does God promote degradation of a whole race, based on skin color?
What did Wright say, that was incorrect? I think, it is the fact, that people do not want to THINK about what has happened. They hate to associate themselves with what has happened. And, to not ignore such things is…. unpatriotic.
Louise:
…then, ANYONE can be schooled for 4 years, and become our president. Why can not the GOP find a person, female, who is qualified for the position?
Beyond being qualified, this woman, Sarah Palin, has been shown to be extremely divisive. You ignore that she has effectively promoted bigotry, in a “catchy way.”
She has told a panel of minorities, who inquired as to why she has a record of not hiring african americans, and very few other people who are non-whites, … that she didn’t have to hire minorities, and that she didn’t see herself hiring any in the future. She told them to stop telling her how to do her job.
This coincides with her inability to take advice from anyone. A sign that she thinks too great of herself, and her distaste for anyone perceived as having more wisdom, insight, and common sense than she…
Finally, she has been shown to abuse her power. I do not want a person, who thinks it’s okay to spend the taxpayers money on unnecessary things for her family, home, office, trips, .. to be placed in power.
She has recently said, that she plans on continuing to do so. That blows my mind.
Along with abuse of position, she has been shown to be utterly vindictive with anyone, or any entity that stands in her way of how SHE thinks the world should be. She blatantly seeks out those who offend her…
Troopergate…
The Librarian…
The media….
Katie Couric….
The radio station who played that prank on her …
Her own aides …
Other republicans…
moose and wolves … ( lol)
COME ON! There are other women who would be far better, as a candidate. Republicans are showing themselves to be desperate.

Louise, I don’t want to burst your bubble, but to underestimate what the Dems did flipping long time ruby red states into their category is SUBSTANTIAL. For the Dems to sweep the board with Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, VIRGINIA and tie in Missouri (that state has yet to be called) is huge. Your are tooting Palin’s whistle and the quickest way to keep these states blue is to make her far right wing ideology the representative of the Republican party.
I know you are excited about our future, but the Republican party can’t plan for the future if they are not brutally honest with where they are today. Reality is important.

Palin4 – Again, Chris Cox. Bush guy. Their man. He ran the SEC like they wanted. He let it go more reckless to promote “growth.” Paulsen – the man in charge of wads of bailout money HAD A HAND IT DOING THIS. The entire lending market went nuts cauz they made a ton of money off of subprimes. Since Bush was in charge and this took place on his watch? Because of his ideology projected into government watch dog agencies originally set up to PROTECT this very thing? Hell yeah, it’s BIG TIME their fault. If you think saying he feared dem’s yelling is worthy? What is he – a woosie? If you take that job you do what you need to do. Big deal the dems would whine. They all whine. The legislation you think McCain wanted so bad? They paid that committee off not to write it. It’s why it stalled. Look, all of congress is the pits. But who leads? Well now we see they can be damn bad as well and it is key. Try not to be so partisan or this will all get worse. Bush has ruined the EPA, SEC and FDA.

To the Wright Haters -
What do you think of this man?
Served nation with honor as a Marine for many years.
Was so well-regarded, he was assigned to the Commander and Chiefs Medical team where he took care of LBJ following surgery.
He did not seek any deferments like Bush, Cheney or Clinton.
The White House honored this marine with three letters of commendation.
This is the man, Rev. Wright, you say is terrifying and hates America. You saw one clip of a sermon on a non-stop loop and made a snap judgement.
He fought for your freedom so you could actually voice your opinion.
May-be should tell him thanks.

From the RGA press conference this morning:
Q: During the campaign, you never held a news conference, which I believe is unprecedented. What’s changed?
PALIN: The campaign is over.

Posted by: WWW | November 13, 2008, 1:26 pm 1:26 pm

Here Palin4 – This should help get my bi-partisan teaching across: “Now, we’ve got a problem here in America that we have to address. Too many American families, too many minorities do not own a home. There is a home ownership gap in America. The difference between Anglo America and African American and Hispanic home ownership is too big. (Applause.) And we’ve got to focus the attention on this nation to address this. And it starts with setting a goal. And so by the year 2010, we must increase minority home owners by at least 5.5 million. In order to close the homeownership gap, we’ve got to set a big goal for America, and focus our attention and resources on that goal. (Applause.)” – George Bush June 17, 2002………… Now, this is not a bad idea. I agree with the theory. What went wrong? What they did that got reckless. This is more about pushing “big business” and is not because of first time minority buyers.

Posted by: Susan-1 | November 13, 2008, 1:28 pm 1:28 pm

Vince,
That is fine you agree with a lot of what rev wright says, as I said earlier, most liberals do just like BO does. My point is that most Americans DO NOT!
Had Barry just been honest about this whole thing and came out and said he did view America they way Wright does (you and I both know it is true) then he never would have won. He is a typical politician and not some new better breed as his CHANGE slogan has everyone believing. He is a far-left radical sympathizer that if he just been honest about his TRUE feelings about this country would have lost by a landslide.

Posted by: palin4prez | November 13, 2008, 1:28 pm 1:28 pm

Palin FINALLY said something intelligent! I know, I can hardly believe it myself. At the governor’s conference, she said:
“We are the minority party. Let us resolve not to be the negative party,” Ms. Palin said. “Let us build our case with actions, not just with words.”
From the Larry King interview she did:
“I’m proud of Barack Obama,” she told King. “I pray for him, his family, the new administration. I look forward to the good things that are in store for this nation.”
Maybe there’s hope for her yet……

Posted by: SearamblerOne | November 13, 2008, 1:31 pm 1:31 pm

Palin4 – How about we discuss how Palin’s church is teaching this generation of children they are special and here to fight God’s Jihad? Get over the Rev. Wright thing. Are you black? Cauz I have to tell you, being white? I’m not going there. I get that they feel different than we do because of what has gone on. It is something I can not know because I can not walk in their shoes. Besides – this theology? Well, they’re going to have to tone it down now that the black man took the highest office. You are wrong that “most” liberals hate America. This is just what Palin Co. wants you to think so you will support her. They use fear to keep you guys in line.

She “IS” the face of the “negative party.” It is this “negativity” I am on a mission to stamp out. They can learn something new – like how to win a campaign on their merits, and not “ONLY” smearing the other guy.

Posted by: Susan-1 | November 13, 2008, 1:36 pm 1:36 pm

Palin4Pres:
What is it that you are not agreeing with Wright on?
You do not believe that this country’s history has been injured with episodes of racism? You do not believe slavery and segregation happened?
You believe that minorities are intrinsically born to migrate towards the poor section of town and want to be poor?
Oh… wait.. then, I guess you disagree that God doesn’t like hatred. That, somehow, God has chosen caucasians to perpetually find ways to keep minorities at a disadvantage, and to be cruel to those who do not look like you.
Is not hatred, sinful? Is not murder sinful? If you do not love your brother as yourself, is that not.. sinful? If it is sinful.. then it is damning.
So.. I ask of you, … what is it, that you do not agree with?

Next time any of you drive by a food, kitchen or a lower-income housing neighborhood, please notice that almost all will be holding a cigarette and sporting a pot-belly.
As for healthcare- America has and always will have the best in the world. What do you think rich people in Europe, Canada, South America, Asia, do when they need an operation- they come here! They go to John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson, ect..
Schools- we also have the best in the world! When you are rich in another country you send your child to the US to learn!
Please quit believing all of the rev wrights, obamas, and liberals who always focus on what all of the negatives of America and realize no matter how bad ABC, CNN tells us we are we are the best country in the world.

Palin is the media’s flavor du jour. She is newsworthy only in that she was the first woman on a GOP presidential campaign ticket. The media want to interview her quickly, before she fades back into the Alaskan tundra. I’ll bet that within a few more weeks, she will NOT be in the news at all. Every country has had slavery- including AFRICA. But last time I checked AMERICA is the only country that has had a civil war to end it.

vince …call it 4 points or 7 points. my point is as bad as bush screwed things up, i dont know any republican who confidentially ever thought we had a chance of winning regardless of who opposed us.i am sorry but until proven wrong i dont see any experience difference between palin and obama.thats just a fact.a community organizer does not qualify someone to be president over some one who is a govenor.i did not vote for george bush ever ( i am an independent) for the same reason i did not vote for obama….no executive experience period . i watched the media take sides in this election a long time ago and vilify anyone who thought otherwise. thats not the role of the news media.i dont care if obama is black green white or turqoise he has not done anything which made him more qualified than sarah palin. going harvard law school in itself doesnt mean squat unless you throw in the race card.THE MAIN POINT IS DONT READ TOO FAR INTO THE TEA LEAVES….A DEAD CHICKEN COULD HAVE BEATEN MC CAIN. if obama listens to pelosi and reid he is doomed.i am tired of the sarah palin bashing. i sincerly believe it comes from the female liberal media who cant stand to see a women do evrything and still be happy being a mother and a wife.dont make the mistake the bushies made and assume they won because of what they did. bush won because bill clinton was a lying sexual deviate who couldnt be left a home with any female regardless of age.obama won because the country hates george bush.i am very happy that obama won becuse it hopefully marks the end of affirmative action.same feelings for palin and hilary.

You might not like Palin, and that’s OK, but the fact remains, she’s the “go-to” person for the GOP now and the media knows it. She’s been in the news more then twice as often then Biden since the election. She may not run for president, but the GOP seems to want to keep her around for a while.

Palin4pres: one more thing….
Obama, has a different background than most african americans. I can see him having a different view on the hatred that this country has promoted.
He has , actually, shown ME a different way to look at things, and that not all people in one or another group, are bad. That, indeed, promote the idea of working together, and stop the dividing nature of humanity, .. which is ironic within itself.
No, I can not place words into Obama’s mouth. It’s just as bad, as people associating Obama to Wright, and blaming Obama for what Wright said.
How do you know what most americans think? I believe most americans are aware that Wright told the truth, it’s just that they are not agreeing with his presentation of it.
I believe that 99% of black americans agree that racism has hit their race like a semi truck would hit and damage a volkswagon beetle. I believe that black americans are stronger for it, .. the tribulations, and the trials.
What you fail to realize, is, that , …america , and americans are not just white folk. We have native americans Indians), we have asians, we have african americans, we have hispanics, we have samoans, we have a plethora of people form all over the world, .. from India, to russia.
We are all americans. To suggest that there are “americans,”and then there are “TRUE AMERICANS.” is so bone headed and disrespectful.
No, most people agree with Obama. And most people will continue to agree with Obama, until the republicans can get their act together.

The only reason people keep commenting is because all the news stations & web sites continue to give her air time. Greta Van Susteren is bad enough without ABC, MSNBC, and CNN also giving her anymore limelight.

“Obama, has a different background than most african americans. I can see him having a different view on the hatred that this country has promoted.” — Vince
Vince – open your eyes! Yes, there are still pockets of racism and hatred (and it works both ways) but the reality is there are more bi-racial/bi-cultural marriages in America then anywhere else and they’re at an all time high. What does that tell you? We’ve had diversity in high levels of government, education and business. Neighborhoods, schools, and most churches are wonderfully diverse – most children play with each other regardless of race or ethnic background. Just take a look around your neighborhood – you’ll probably see diversity at work. Do we still have a ways to go – yes, but let’s focus on what we’ve done right over the past few years and keep moving in that direction.

Have you seen the DOW, it appears the stock market is as excited about an Obama presidency as us country loving, gun-toting, flag-waving hicks. Check the history books, this is the worst post-election sell off in history and it began freefalling Nov 5.

Posted by: palin4prez | November 13, 2008, 2:04 pm 2:04 pm

Vince,
The comment of Obama “having a different view of racism….” I feel is way off the mark.
If Obama was truly a uniter then he would not have brought his children to hear some of the most divisive language in America. He listened to rev wright’s black liberation theology racist, anti-American, anti-Semetic rants for 20 years.
I for one would not stay in a church for 5 minutes that put down a race of people or my country.

Proud Capitalist – You come across as another republican that can’t handle any negativity on Bush. I said nothing that bad. You’re just annoyed I’m up on some of the big ugly that will blow sky high once Bush walks. Due to the condition he leaves my country I’ve earned the right to be rather ###### off. I’d love an example of the good he’s done. Frankly I can find very little. He’s punctional. He finds “rude is late.” I respect that. Gee, right now? I can’t come up with any more. Because I think he was the most sorry president in all of my 49 years and you’re right – I am MAD. I am not open to opinion that his sorry job was all the fault of democrats. When republicans ruled for 6 years. I am not open to nonsense.

Posted by: Susan-1 | November 13, 2008, 2:09 pm 2:09 pm

palin4prez – it’s unfair to blame the DOW on Obama’s election just as it’s unfair to blame the economic situation on Bush – there are a lot of factors and looking for a scapegoat doesn’t solve anything.

Posted by: Proud Capitalist | November 13, 2008, 2:09 pm 2:09 pm

palin4prez People need to also remember blacks where not the only slaves in America.
In addition to African slaves, Europeans, mostly Irish, Scottish, English, and Germans, were brought over in substantial numbers as indentured servants, particularly in the British Thirteen Colonies. Over half of all white immigrants to the English colonies of North America during the 17th and 18th centuries consisted of indentured servants.
The transformation from indentured servitude to racial slavery happened gradually. There were no laws regarding slavery early in Virginia’s history. However, by 1640, the Virginia courts had sentenced at least one black servant to slavery.
In 1654, John Casor, a black man, became the first legally-recognized slave in the area to become the United States. A court in Northampton County ruled against Casor, declaring him property for life, “owned” by the black colonist Anthony Johnson. Since persons with African origins were not English citizens by birth, they were not necessarily covered by English Common Law.

Susan-1 – your anger is misplaced and I’m not annoyed. I’m not one to tout Bush as a great president who did nothing wrong, but at the same time, I’m also not going to pretend he did nothing right. If you look at the president to solve the problems in this country, you will always be disappointed because the solutions are closer to home.

Have you seen how many stories there have been about gun sales increasing since the election. The mainstream media has no problem painting republicans as hill-billy idiots but they make no connection whatsoever to BO victory and the stock market tanking??
Just what do you think investors are reacting to? I know, the fact that BO has said he is ready to
-raise the capital gains tax from 15% to 28% or HIGHER
-raise the death tax
-raise the payroll tax
-raise the tax on social security
-raise taxes on those making $250k, no make that $200k, no biden said $150 2 weeks ago.. my point is raising taxes in a bad economy is a disaster!
What does BO expect the investors are going to do.He is basically telling them “hey guys, keep your $$$ in the market, infact, please invest more, but if you make any profit on that $$$ i will tax you twice as hard”- it’s a ridiculous idea!

Proud I’m a realist. There will never be a President that doesn’t do something I don’t agree with. I do not expect to always agree. But I expect a damn national debt to not get doubled in 8 years, I expect not to set off a world wide recession, I expect truth vs. fiction on a damn war, I expect to have my leader show some respect to the other half of the nation regardless of party. Solve all problems? I do not expect that. But I sure as hell don’t expect one to start so many. His foreign policy is the pits, we lost our reputation, etc. Like I said – show me the good. I’ll admit it. I am not seeing it. I think he was absolutely 100% HORRIBLE at this job and ruined my damn country. About the best idea he had was a guest worker program and I wish he’d at least have made that happen. But he could not even do that it seems. When he began to “redefine abortion to include The Pill and IUD?” That was it. Right now? He’s trying to get the local gov. to be able to spy on citizens more. I want him GONE. Now. I have had enough. I am not sure I will ever change my opinion. And my opinion? Well, it’s common. I’m average at this point.

I lived in Europe just 3 years ago. The whole continent has green eyes for this place. Why wouldn’t they? In 200 years America has become the wealthiest, most powerful, most generous nation on Earth. They are annoyed at this and the one man who is going to melt our borders, weaken our military, and spread the wealth around is the guy they have fallen head over heels for? I wonder why? Because they would love to see us turn into France! Comtrary to what you have been force-fed by the media, America is not the cause of all the world’s problems but everyone certainly looks to us to fix them all!

Posted by: palin4prez | November 13, 2008, 2:26 pm 2:26 pm

palin4prez – on gun sales – I agree. People are buying guns now because of changes Obama has proposed. But that’s different from the stock market – that’s much more complex and lots of different factors come into play. What are they reacting to? I don’t know. Maybe uncertainty of an Obama administration is one factor, but it’s not the only reason for the DOW to drop.
I agree that raising taxes in a bad economy is a bad idea and I hope that’s one promise Obama doesn’t live up to. We just have to wait and see. I’m hoping for the best, just like you.

Susan 1-
There is nothing bogus about the tax increases Barry has proposed that I mentioned, those did not come from one of those ridiculous emails that circulated. The man has proposed $1,000,000,000,000,.00 in new spending, how will pay for this?
As for the subprime thing, you do not win. I said Bush got caught up in the whole liberal communistic view also of giving everyone a flower and a home for free. The difference is the republican/conservative party doesn’t think like that, the liberal dems do.
The true policy changes have come from the democratic presidents and congress. It began with Jimmy Carter and the Community reinvestment Act and has continued to barney frank, chris dodd, chuck schumer saying as recently as 2006 that “fannie’freddie are fine, any regualtions you place on them will just hinder affordable housing!!” (that video is available on the internet and its filled with a whole host of dems playing robin hood)

Palin whoop do. Like I said, I too know Europe and have lived abroad. You’re kidding yourself if you think everybody in Europe wants to move here. Of course they’re fascinated. What you fail to see is some of the things they do better than we do. Take family. They’re entirely more into “community” vs. us. They’re not as materialistic. We’re just really well off and different and they’re curious. I never said we created all world problems. But right now we sure as hell created a recession and it was not all the fault of a democratic congress. We have created more unrest with our foreign policy. Yes, sometimes we suffer their envy and they’ll spite. But not always. Sometimes we just do things that annoy them outside of our boarders. And sometimes I can see what they are. Take 9-11. When Canada took our planes and Bush spoke to thank the world and left them out intentionally!! THEY were the biggest help that day! I just happen to think the man was absurd with his “bully” approach with foreign policy. And because of it? Recruitment is up. Our own gov. said this. And our military IS weaker. He has worn those boys out. So, if you need to make yourself feel better buying “if they say anything negative it’s always out of envy” have at it. Again, I’m a realist. No nation is that perfect. Most things we do? We do to gain something.

Palin4 – Google. They crunched the number on proposals. McCain came in higher than Obama. They promise everything to run and don’t do half of it anywho. Here’s one on the estate tax: Both major-party presidential candidates, Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama, agree on two things: that the estate tax should not revert back to its pre-2001 state, and that it should not be fully repealed. (A permanent repeal would cost $522 billion in lost tax revenue over the next decade, according to the Treasury Department’s evaluation of President Bush’s 2009 budget proposals.) The candidates also both support indexing the estate tax to accommodate inflation.

So America acts differently than other nations who do things for the better of man-kind instead of for their own self-interests.
Where do you people come up with all this stuff? Of course they more into the “communinity” then us- they pay 50% in taxes and work 30 hrs a week with 2hr lunch breaks!! As a result, they have skinny poor people and far higher levels of teen pregnancy then we do.
(But don’t worry, the more $$$ your liberal leaders keep giving out the more we will look like France (which is really something all liberals would love to see)

Posted by: palin4prez | November 13, 2008, 2:44 pm 2:44 pm

Palin4 – “As for the subprime thing, you do not win. I said Bush got caught up in the whole liberal communistic view also of giving everyone a flower and a home for free. The difference is the republican/conservative party doesn’t think like that, the liberal dems do.” Bush did not try to give the minorities a home for free. Again, he tried to promote them getting into homes for the first time. This is exactly like your argument on welfare. You know, “if they work they take more pride?” “Teach them to fish?” What Bush was attempting here is not the problem, and not a bad thing. Reagan and Bush Sr. did it as well. What they did with business and trading was the problem. This was a whole bunch a perfect storm anyway. Greenspan keeping interest rates too low contributed. But I will say it again. Due to what took place in the SEC it created a recession. This is why Palin AND McCain said that a lot of this was the fault of Wall Street.

Posted by: Susan-1 | November 13, 2008, 2:49 pm 2:49 pm

Why do liberals always want to go to war with whomever we are not currently at war with? I swear to God if I hear one more hollywood actor say Darfur I’ll scream. I guess Saddam’s torture chambers, mass graves of 700,000+ kurds and stock piles of mustard gas was no big deal. Kind of like our abandoning the south Vietnamese because of people like Jane Fonda and bill ayers resulting in the death of millions at the hands of the north vietnamese was no big deal.
Susan
Maybe if your party wasn’t so nutty about global warming caused by al gore’s private jet and $30,000 monthly home utililty bills we could drill here and not have our national security in the hands of sadam, chavev, putin, akhamdinajacket.

Facts do matter -
History of elected Governors
20 have been Democrat; 9 Republican
The Democrats put the first female VP on the ticket over 20 years ago
Democrats had a serious female contender for President
Democrats elected the First woman Speaker Of the House
There are 71 women from 30 states serving in the House of Representatives
51 are Democrat; 20 Republican
There are 16 women serving in the Senate
11 are Democrat, 5 Republican
The facts suggest Jill Democrats have a long history of embracing and promoting women and your party is the one with the issue.

In the best of all worlds, Ms. Palin would go away and be quiet. After all, who remembers Kerry’s VP candidate? She, on the other hand, continues to open her mouth and spew ignorance. I find it difficult to listen to her and impossible to read transcripts of her interviews. Her disjointed manner of speaking, the winking, the idiomatic vocabulary (you betcha!) all are consistent with someone who has ADD or some other behavioral disorder.
I wish I were afraid of her, I just dont’ like her. Has nothing to do with gender, she comes across as an idiot and has yet to convince me otherwise. Y
Yes – please keep on running for 2012!

First Bush now Palin Derangment Syndrome. You just have to hate hate hate! You remind me of Rev Wright. Get a hobby, hug a puppy. Go skip to your Furor Obama but get a clue liberals! She has made it on her own against men, women, her own party and yes you liberals. She didnt need a popular radical Reverand, nor a notorious terrorist or the huge Chicago political machine, unlike some we know! Its a sad day when the elites, media and Hollywood praise the Paris’, Madonna’s and Rosie’s while trying to skewer the ones that actually have morals and standards and decency. Obama hadnt had enough spine to do remain true to Rev Wright why do you think he stick up for you! You’ll be under his bus soon. Is that a SPLAT I hear? I’d rather have someone (Palin) who is authentic and real in my corner not a phony like Obama!

Palin you’re still on the spin. The tax cuts are for “95% of WORKING Americans.” I know you’re not dumb and know this.
The following you wrote?
Fact2
10% of the highest income earners in all the land pay %70 of the taxes and the bottom 50% of tax earners pay less then 3% pf the tax load. If you ask me it’s time for the bottom 50% to buck up a little more!!……… I am one of them. I find this the most stupid argument to keep the little people down. What it means? That the rich have gotten entirely too much richer while the middle-class has taken a hell of a hit. Progressive has gone on forever and Obama’s percentages were lower than Nixon’s.
***************************************
You got me on the Gore. I find that one a hypocrite hoot myself. Told ya – I’m bi-partisan. Just anti “THESE republicans.” They’re not real republicans. Shhhhhhh Have ya noticed just how “liberal” Bush’s record was? And my problem? The same people surrounded McCain. He sold out.

Palin got in rallies on her own of 70,000 unlike Obama who needed free (feely good) rock stars to draw in the crowds! It would be interesting how many if the rallies were him without Sprinstein, Joel or Bon Jovi. Anyone would go to a free rock concert and that is the only reason he had those kind of #’s. He aint all that and he will prove it as we get to finally know him. Be afraid be very afraid!

He is a the uhh um KING and shame on Palin for copying him. Maybe she thinks that works for him so she should try! Serious you liberals just need to hate on something always. I find her shrill, annoying, and without a clue. She isn’t intelligent. She is just an opportunist. Did she clean up the old boys club in Alaska as she states or just learn her mentors weaknesses and then stab them in the back to further her own career? Frankly, she would be better served trying out for a role in the movie Fargo II, but I hope she does become the Republicans poster child and candidate for 2012. She will then be the gift that keeps on giving.

Frankly I do not want an average hockey mom running my country. I’d be less afraid of her if I thought she could get it. I’m going with Steve’s post. What is the Republican agenda? All hail the idiot?
My point in case…
Bush – A total idiot who during his life ruined everything he touched.
McCain – Graduated almost at the bottom of his class
Palin – Has almost as difficult a time with english as GWB
It’s fine and dandy wanting to have a beer with someone, but that doesn’t mean they would make a good leader of the country. Enough with stoopid in the Whitehouse. Our country barely survived the last 8 years and we will be digging out for years to come.
