Hard times and tough questions. Some are asking: Should the inaugural celebrations – the parades, parties – should it all be shelved given the state of the economy? Its not the time to celebrate, or so the argument goes. For struggling Americans what kind of message is sent by lavish spending on cocktail parties and high styled balls? Ah, but of course there is the flip side argument. It is exactly the time to come together and celebrate. A celebration of democracy of hope that things will turn around that under it all we are Americans. The city of Washington thinks a couple million people will come. Should they?
