Two Boys + Four Photos = One “Poignant Scene”

These four photographs from an Obama campaign rally — and one reporter’s account — are making their way around the internet. Take a look…

Great Picture and Nice Story!

Awesome pictures! Very representative of the good people supporting Barack H. Obama! This stands in contrast to the devisive nature of other candidates supporters. Peace and love will rule, when all is said and done. Hatred will go away.

Peace and Love to all!

How about the pictures of the communist flag? Why were they on display last Tuesday night in the celebrations? Why would communist supporters think they won?

If you truly want to get rid of abortions, making it illegal would be one of the worst ways (along with complaining about it on a completely unrelated post on ABC, but I digress.)
Instead, work on creating programs that address adoptions and making them more advantageous than abortions. Teach kids about safe sex and prophylactics, and start up a counseling program to those who just had abortions to deter another.
I don’t want to see abortions become illegal; I want to see them become obsolete.

Rose-colored glasses or blinders: Did you not hear Obama’s thoughts about reducing abortions? That we should find a common ground to discuss, not condemn?
And how much of the President’s time is taken up by the abortion issue?
What is refreshing is that Obama suggests talking, not knee-jerk reactions and immediate discounts of differing views. Yes, there is a place in the middle and we can work toward the same goal of reducing abortions.
Dealing in absolutes are what brought us to this point – a point where not many people are happy to be.

To paraphrase a pretty good orator: There is no black America; there is no white America; there is only the United States of America.

I see the Fairness Doctrin has been implemented already.
The Fairness Doctrin will only be for certain people.
I am “Rose Colored Glasses or Blinders”, and I commented on “Peace and Love”. I said peace and love did not extend to unborn babies. (SEE THE CONNECTION, KC?)
Well, my post was deleted, but the two comments on my post were kept.
I DID NOT use profanity. I merely posted my opinion just like the two people who commented on it.
WHAT GIVES?

I am not dealing in ‘absolutes’.
To every rule, there are indeed exceptions: health of the woman
(of course, ‘health’ can mean different
things to different people. Here lies the difficulty.
I would hope that adoption could be pushed more instead of an abortion.
That’s all I’m saying.
Adoption takes more effort.
With abortion, the baby dies; the mother
now has to live with that deed.
Can you honestly tell me that having an abortion is NOT devastating to the mother of that unborned child?
NOW, to tie this in to Obama:
Obama wants to make stem cell research
a project of the government.
Who’s the government? WE ALL ARE.
I, along with millions of others, do NOT
want to kill human life for research.
First of all, didn’t Obama do his research on this? You do not have to use babies for research. There are many other options.
Obama is big on the “fairness doctrin”.
So, where’s the ‘fairness’ in creating human life only to be destroyed?
We can all argue this to kingdom come.
That’s not my goal. I just want to let this ABC site know (which is mostly democrats, obviously) that not everyone
agrees with your thinking.
I just believe ALL sides need to be heard.
Don’t you?
People are singing the ‘peace and love’ song for Obama. That’s cool. I understand.
But let all opinions be heard.

CC asked, “How much of the President’s time is taken up on the abortion issue?”
Well, the right to life is the foundation of all good governments. Isn’t it?
Why did Obama focus on government paying for stem cell research even before he took office?
Obama’s opinion is ABSOLUTE. He wants to use human life as research.
You can’t get more plainer than that.

RCG or B, I really enjoyed reading your last few post. I would like to hear more of your thoughts on the issues.
I do see myself as liberal-leaning, and whenever I get into a political conversation, I consider people’s fears. A study I read showed that conservatives fear chaos the most. From what I can tell, the abortion issue riles up conservatives as it appears to be a slippery slope. Stem cell research from aborted fetuses would then promote more killing, ect ect.
Liberals fear the feeling of emptiness, of not doing enough to help people. The fears of putting a child through an inadequate foster home system and/or foster home horror stories is too much for them. In regards to stem cell research, it is sad that an unborn baby died, but seeing stem cells be disposed of instead of helping others is also a tragedy.
We might not see eye-to-eye completely on the issues at hand, but considering these thoughts, I believe we can find some common ground to curtail/stop abortions, preferably by knowledge than by mandate of the law.
