Right To Attack?
It is, particularly in the post-9/11 world, a critical and provocative question: when — if ever — does a nation have the right to pursue an enemy on another nation’s sovereign territory? A recent and frequent example: the U.S. drone attacks against suspected terror training centers inside Pakistan. And the most current dispute: if the government of India is convinced that the architects of the terror in Mumbai are still at large in Pakistan, does India have a right to go after them? Here is a very interesting and provocative argument, from the Carnegie Endowment’s Robert Kagan.

Isn’t this the Bush doctrine?

When will people see that Obama is simply just another New World Order puppet?

Neocon chickenhawk and Iraq war “architect” Mr. Kagan makes an interesting assertion: “nations should not be able to claim sovereign rights when they cannot control territory from which terrorist attacks are launched.”
So who was controlling this territory, Mr. Kagan?

Somebody attacked India. So who was it?
Pakistan gov. is in a sticky situation, as well.
When 9/ll happened, most people wanted to know who did this to us. We, for the most part, wanted answers, and we wanted the culprit to come to justice.
So, if we ‘move’ the war from Iraq to someplace else, we will STILL be at war.
The troops will still be ‘over’ there.
What are we to do? Just go home?
Will that stop the threats?
What about India? Should they just ignore the attacks, as if nothing happened?
Call it the Bush Doctrine if you like.
That’s the reality of this world.
I do wish Obama and his team a lot of luck.
Diplomacy and skill are needed. However, look who we’re dealing with?
These people blow diplomats up.

Dragon, where have you been, dear?
9/ll – September llth -
World Trade Center?
Pentagon?
Planes crashing into buildings in
New York? D.C.?
Remember now?
You can’t be serious?
You do remember, don’t you?

what is a “new world order puppet”? is this the “end of days stuff”? “tri-lateralism”? and the president-elect is the anti-christ? lol. serioulsy?

Dragon, I know there’s nothing I could say to convince you otherwise.
However, you have to go with what makes sense. Those terrorists on the plane were l00% responsible. They planned it for a long time (i.e. coming to USA for various fake reasons: going to ‘school’;
taking flight lessons,etc.)
As far as JFK: Jim Garrison was a publicity hound and a nut.
Oswald may have told others about his plan. I don’t know, but Oswald killed JFK.
Oliver Stone and Michael Moore and people who write books all make a fortune off of this conspiracy theories.
These people are manipulating the facts.
You have to go with what makes sense.
It’s human nature to fill in the gaps, but don’t let it rule your life.

I read the transcripts about the vans with explosives.
This is not news.
Of course, there were others on the ground ready to attack. We assumed that on Sept. llth.
Not everyone wishes us well.
We get it.
I don’t go around thinking about conspiracies, however.
The ABC post asked: Does a nation have the right to pursue an enemy on another nation’s sovereign territory?
I think an investigation (with the help of the United Nations) would be the first step. Present your evidence and case; then proceed from there.
Diplomacy first; then what?
Well, if I knew that, I’d win the Peace Prize.
The trouble is, some people can’t be reasoned with. Some people are hell-bent in dstroying others no matter what.
You just try to keep the madness to a simmer. That’s the best this world can hope for. This “ain’t” heaven, kiddo.

Invetigations ? How ? Public ?
By the time time you make a request to start an investigation, your target will have moved!
The U.N. ?????? Please, that organization is totally useless in these situations. Bosnia, Iraq…etc Resolution after Resolution….NOTHING
Then when it comes to back up all the lovely language in those Resloutions, they turn to us to do the real work. That is one part all the liberals fail to recognize about the “diplomatic option” -> when it fails, someone has to be the enforcer!
