We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new, free ABC News iPhone application.
Our application enables you to get the best of ABC News whenever and
wherever you want. And it takes advantage of some of the great features
of the iPhone, using location-based technology to give you local news,
and multimedia capabilities to bring you one of the best mobile video
viewing experiences of any news site.

"We’re eager to provide Apple iPhone and iPod Touch users with
an application that offers not only the best of ABC News reporting and
video, but also local news video from our owned stations across the
country," said David Westin, President, ABC News.
Features include:
-

VIDEO
You can get the day’s top news videos, as well as recent clips from your favorite ABC News shows, including "Good Morning America," "World News with Charles Gibson," "20/20," "Nightline" and "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." -

PHOTO SLIDESHOWS We’ve created a new daily Today in
Pictures slideshow just for the iPhone — cycle through manually or
press play, sit back and watch our picks of the day’s best photographs
on the iPhone’s stunning screen. -

TOP HEADLINES ABCNews.com’s top stories are delivered
to the iPhone and updated continually, and you can save them to read
even when you’re out of range of a mobile signal.
-

LOCAL NEWS In addition to national and world news, the
ABC News iPhone application provides local news video from ABC’s owned
stations nationwide. Using the iPhone’s location-based technology, the
application determines where users are and the closest affiliate
station, and delivers the relevant local news video. In addition, users
have the option to view video from other participating affiliate
stations across the country. -

BREAKING NEWS ALERTS
Breaking news alerts are delivered straight to your ABC News application so you can stay on top of the latest news. -

EMERGENCY ALERTS Another unique feature: users in San
Francisco and New York City will receive civic-controlled emergency
alerts straight to their iPhone application, alerting them to major
emergencies in their areas. -

WEATHER
The iPhone detects where you are and brings you the latest weather
forecasts, radar maps and weather news, right inside your ABC News
application so you don’t need a separate weather source.
We
hope you enjoy our new iPhone application. Please download it and give
it a try, and let us know what you think in the comments area below, or
in the iTunes store.
