Daschle, Health Care & Chairman Kennedy
We wouldn’t normally pay quite so much attention to the confirmation hearings for a nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services — but the fact is that HHS Secretary has never had quite the stature that it has today, given the health care crisis in the nation, and the plans proposed to deal with it.
Another fact about today’s hearing, less important but interesting nonetheless: the chairman of the relevant committee today (that’s the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, by the way) is one Ted Kennedy. We haven’t seen that much of Senator Kennedy during his battle with brain cancer — but he has made clear he wants to be deeply involved in the health care issue. We can tell you he looks very well, at least. We will post video here as soon as we can…

Liberals are merely trying to fulfill FDR’s second bill of rights (his words) wherein he claimed that having a home and quality health was a basic right. Refer to his January, 1944 state of the union address.
Of course, none of these rights appear in the real bill of rights.
It is all part of the Marxist redistribution of wealth program that has permeated every nook and crannie in the United States.
It is not enough that government redistributes almost $2 trillion tax dollars a year in social welfare programs.
