Meryl Streep is simply a head and shoulders above the rest….recently attested to by the fact that she carried Mamma Mia (a musical yet!) to over half a million dollars and counting….in a role so diverse from those we are used to her portraying. Her only competition is herself. For her, the sky is the limit!

MERYL STREEP IS THE GREATEST! i hope she wins for a truly smashing performance in “doubt”. it’s the best among the five nminations in that category.

Oh, you’ve gotta love Hollyweird in all its glory. So many super-rich liberals complaining about how the conservative, middle-class is homophobic and evil to the core. All the while, Hollywood itself is SO sexist and ageist. I love how a woman “of a certain age” cannot get a part in a movie or t.v. series unless she starves herself to death and has so many cosmetic procedures, she cannot smile and looks like a freak. Yet, a man can be old, bald and fat and still pull in leading roles, where he is paried with some 20 year old in a romantic part. Ageist and sexist, not to mention hypocritcal. I haven’t been to the movies in eight years. I work to hard for my money to throw it away on the trash they put out today as “entertainment.” People need to rediscover the joy or reading books.

the Oscar is prejudiced… they really like the same ole people all the time and when the same ole people aren’t in it all the time, they find a way to get them back in it. Benjamin Button should get it, THAT WAS THE BEST MOVIE SINCE BEN HUR AND 10 COMMANDMENTS!
